    From Jimmy Page's website - recorded on March 14, 1969 - "The band ethic during the promo for the first album was to play live on TV and mime on radio. At this Swedish TV show, they wouldn't let us play: we had to mime. I think the level of sarcasm shows through. Robert Plant was brilliant on this one."

When I turned 12 I took some of my birthday money and bought Led Zeppelin l my attitude before I bought Led Zeppelin's l was nothing could rock as hard as ll. I was wrong, Led Zeppelins l has Good Times Bad Times, Dazed and Confused Communication Break down and other legendary cuts on there.... the first two albums is what made me a Zeppelin fan.

    Bonham taught me to play the drums in the 80's, as a 16 year old kid who took up the drums. First kit was a Ludwig pieced together 5 piece White Marine Pearl with NO cymbals. All my hi-hat parts and rides were rimshots lol...for like at least 6 months until Christmas when my mother (despite my father's opposition) had love and mercy enough to get me at least hi-hats and a ride. Turned out to be come vintage Zildjians that were somewhere between 1929-53 or 1957-1969--I wish I still had them but sold everything in 1993 in order to help provide for our first child. Then 12 years without a kit :-( My wonderful high-school sweetheart wife (pictured in my avatar) let me buy a new kit in 2005 so now I have a custom maple/birch Dave Conaway 7 piece fusion kit with the Sabian Peart Paragon cymbals and about 10 other cymbals including Zildjian and Paiste I have sourced over the years. Unfortunately it's all in storage due to our small living conditions because the rent in the Portland area is astronomical and I still have 3 of 6 kiddos at home.

    • @bholaoates1542
      @bholaoates1542 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My drums were in storage for many years, too. Cost me more to store them than to buy them... lol Now I keep them in a spare bedroom in my apartment but still can't play them because it's way too loud for an apartment. I would sell them but in the era of digital and electronic drums, nobody wants to buy a drum set.😢

    To all these folks who keep asking ‘where is the real audio??’ you’re listening to it because they are LIP SYNCING. They mimed to the studio track and the footage afterwards is dubbed with the SAME track! Nothing, I repeat, NOTHING live was performed here. And it’s obvious when looking at it. Instruments aren’t plugged in, Bonham barely hits the drums in spots, Page barely ‘plays’ the guitar during the solo (he even comes in late when the song starts), the group is laughing a few times here, Plant is clearly talking to Page during the solo. All tell tale signs this is MIMED. And if that ain’t proof let’s here it from Page himself (and to be fair at least two or three other people shared this comment on this video).
    "The band ethic during the promo for the first album was to play live on TV and mime on radio. At this Swedish TV show, they wouldn't let us play: we had to mime. I think the level of sarcasm shows through. Robert Plant was brilliant on this one."
    It’s lip sync, folks. Accept it.

    I have the unedited broadcast master of this. 60 minutes. The credit/introduction to the TV show is cool, and unfortunately when they released this they cut out the beginning of this video which showed a guy using a jackhammer which really set up the opening riff quite nicely. Mekki Mark Men also perform on the show, a very cool Swedish psyche band a little bit like a cross between Pink Floyd and Hendrix.

    why is bonham playing the ride during the verse when we all hear hats? @0:34
    the stick twirl was way hip and cool and risky...he was flawless on that one...also one of the first drummers to play the crash/ride as time...alex van halen gets a lot of credit for this...he can thank bonzo for the idea.

      +Jeff Porcaro Groove Master Because the group is miming to the song. It's a promo video.

    • @Joesfosterdogs
      @Joesfosterdogs 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      get it...he still mimed his own song incorrectly...on purpose? he played the song. maybe guilt over the fact Page ripped off most of these songs? fact.

    • @ledzepfilm
      @ledzepfilm  8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      No, because Zeppelin never played one song the same way twice. Plus, I'm sure they didn't like miming very much.

    • @alexbond8240
      @alexbond8240 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +LedZepfilm yeah...Miming was probably new to them and they weren't exactly sure what to do. Lol! With as many years as I've played I'd still probably clam up and get awkward if I had to mime.

      It was pretty well-known that all the English rock stars were bisexual, I don't think this comment is too far-fetched. There was that one incident when their hotel caught on fire and when they went in John Paul Jones's room, he was there with a black man and both of them were sleeping with their pants down in their dongs hanging out. You make your own decision on that.

    Oye, chica, para lo que estás haciendo
    Oye, chica, me vas a llevar a la ruina
    No se que es lo que me gusta de ti
    Pero se que me gusta mucho
    Porque no me dejas abrasarte
    Déjame sentir los encantos del amor
    Comunicación ruptura
    Siempre es lo mismo
    Comunicación ruptura
    Me vuelve loco
    Oye, chica, tengo algo que debes saber
    Oye, bebé, quiero decir que te amo mucho
    Quiero abrazarte en mis brazos
    Nunca te voy a dejar ir
    Porque amo tus encantos
    Comunicación ruptura
    Siempre es lo mismo
    Comunicación ruptura
    Me vuelve loco.

    Should have had Bonham on camera more just to see what he does.

      I guess that's why they started calling them "kick" drums. With no pedals, you had to kick them to get any sound.... 😜
