Hey, you seem very knowledgeable of the different mt07's. I live in europe, and I want an mt07 which I would ride legally with restrictions.
My question is: what is the differences between the 3 gens in terms of restrictions?
I want to get the mt07 that feels the nicest as a restricted bike. Because I do know other restricted bikes such as tuono 660 which i was interested in until I heard the restriction, being purely ecu, made the bike feel very lifeless. Like losing almost all power after 6-8k revs... Also, if you are aware if any emission laws change the ecu tune between any of the gens..?
You left out the most important part..... removing the throttle body and the airbox
God dammit you're right I did too.. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ I guess that's why they pay me the big bucks
That’s right, that was the only part I was interested in.
@@lachlanmiller2785 Was really not that hard, just have to wiggle the throttle body out and after that u have to wiggle the airbox out, also drilling the rubbers out is BS, you have to buy new unrestricted ones since it is restricted all the way to the end
@@jorikvandammen8870 considering I've done this about 40+ times which includes 4 or 5 HO stack replacements, I can confidently say that your comment is BS, and I challenge you to prove me wrong.
@@MafiZed If you would take out the rubber hoses and compare them to the other ones you would see it is not BS
Hello, great vid! Do you know if the throttle body is restricted on the EU MT07 2022 35kw version or it is only the ECU & the pipes ? ✌️
Hey mate, You wouldn't have a throttle Restrictor for a 2016 MT07? Yamaha don't stock just the plate.

I was told the mt07 is restricted at the accelerator, airbox and ecu.
Did you have to retune the ecu?

Yes, you got to reetune the ecu
No you don't have to retune the ecu. Whoever told you that is lying to you and anyone else who tells you that via second hand information was lied to and believes it enough to not question it and lacks the knowledge to dispute it. If the person telling you that it needs a tune is also the same person who will make money off you by doing the tune, then you need to question their motives. Money and honesty rarely go hand in hand.

What was the AFR pre tune under load? Did you tune it yourself? And why is it that mine has been fine for 8 years un-tuned?

@@shura.3011 not 100% sure if it has the airbox restriction, but yes it has a ECU restriction
Open it up and post your findings here, AFAIK European versions do not have an ecu restriction.
@@MafiZed i opened it up as you said it turns out that the airbox restrictions are even narrower and it has ecu restrictions in every gear so you have to remove the 20 mm funnels and actually tune the bike otherwise it will be restricted and super lean

Whats the Name of the exhaust?
It was a generic ebay one, owner had me replace it with an akraprovic ti not long after this video was made, it was very very loud. I couldn't recommend it.
