Hey bro, I am going to tune my LAMS version in south Australia and thinking of getting the Yoshimura airbox as I mainly track my bike. I have the Yoshimura R-77 FS exhaust and removed the restricted throttle plate with yours. With all that, I hope someone reading this can answer what the maximum HP a LAMS version can attain? Thank you in advance
Should try deleting the airbox. Keep the HO R7 rubber intakes and mount a 2 into 1 k&n airfilter R-0990. Huge improvement for the R7, youll just need to brace it.
This is a customers bike, I'll be making my own air filter setup in the very near future.
I'm about to cop my lams r7 and that looks like a hell of a trek
It's not too bad I can knock it over in about 3 hours start to finish
@@MafiZed yeah but for me not being that mechanically inclined with motorbike since I have only been riding for about 6 months I know I would fucked something up and ruin my 15k bike

I want to wrap my R7 but just the thought of wrapping the gas tank was giving me nightmares.
Now that I’ve watched your video, and saw that the tank covers comes in 3 pieces gives me hope again😁

Do it often enough and they get dedicated to memory but for unfamiliar cars or bikes I just simply put the bolts back into their holes 🤷♀🤷♀ Mind blown right? 😃

i de-restricted my tracer 7 2022 and i bought the A1 airbox tubes from a yamaha dealer. did not had to drill them open they are wide open from the factory on the unrestricted models. did you do any changes to the throttle bodies? thanks for the vid
Well ofcorse they are wide open on the unrestricted version, that's kind of the point.
No I did not do anything to the TB, what you see is exactly what I did.
I have ported my TB myself however.

Hey mate can you confirm the ECU mapping is the same as the HO model? I've heard mixed things. Don't wanna run lean.
Sorry but short of getting Yamaha to chime in on this one I can't confirm it, but If I were Yamaha I wouldn't waste time and money making a separate tune when the one I've already made will do just fine for the lams market. It's a mechanical restriction, tuning HO and unrestricted LAMS both result in pretty much identical gains, because they are.. The same.
Albeit with an extra 5rwhp-ish ontop for the HO due to higher compression, slightly different cams and 34cc more.

But tuning is changing the map anyway so I would expect similar results post tune.
Would love to see dyno graphs after restrictions removed but stock mapping vs stock ho mapping and then both post tune.
Theoretically the LAMS would run super rich which I believe I've seen in afr charts pre derestriction in the top end with the HO mapping due the the intake restrictions and I'm not sure how that would pass emissions regulations.

@@MafiZed I asked my dealer and they said it was mechanical AND an electrical set-up thing too.. I'm from Europe tho. Not sure if that makes any difference
Removing that airbox is a nightmare, I trashed mine in the process. You are far better off to just put DNA filters straight onto the throttles than reinstalling this janky airbox.
My research and experience tell me you're incorrect but I would like to hear your reasons for your recommendation?
Dyno time and tuning. Air velocity within the air box is uneven, We gained another 4hp and 2nm through midrange on the stage 3 tune on my bike with just oval DNA filters onto the throttle body. The R7 LA now makes 74.6 rwhp and 80nm, up from the stock 40 rwhp and 57.5nm stock. @@MafiZed
