- This is what i have to show y'all so far, please feel free to ask me anything in the comments, ex if you dont understand a certain point i give in the video or something like that, please no hate i worked on this since Nov 2019. I have Checked my information 3-4 times to make sure there were no mistakes or misunderstandings. Ps- this video is my personal opinion, none of this can be 100% proven unless R* themselves say this is 100% legit, therefore take this with a grain of salt if you will. You have to admit the clips i have sure do seem like proof enough for me. also words might be misspelled in the video, English is not my first spoken language.
I think this has gone on long enough...This video was uploaded on the 10th anniversary of Red Dead Redemption, it was to celebrate an old "DEBUNKED THEORY" that means "fake" "proven false"...This video is for entertainment...its meant to be nostalgic for old players who have seen the Uncle Harlow theories from 2010-2011, i keep it in the style of the original, as real looking as possible...i really did go all out for this video...i also uploaded a face comparison of uncle & Red...these videos are not meant to be taken too seriously. Please stop bullying kids who believe this theory,
if you tell them this theory is false and they don't believe you or argue back please ignore them.
Finally, but too late cuz half of the internet believes he is now and actually think your proofs are for real.
It’s a great fan theory to poke around at, but Rock Star likes to separate its games. It’s like how GTA San Andreas isnt in the same universe as GTA V

I thought it would have gotten 2k views tops due to its "clickbaitey" nature...but its been up since May and most people who believe it won't change their mind now, its like religion to them now or something lol, so im just gonna let them believe what they want...its not really hurting anyone. @@BelligerentIAm yeah its why i made the video in the first place, in 2010 it was such an over the top wtf theory, so many people where outraged at the thought of Uncle, the drunken old man living on John's ranch being Red Harlow...but in 2020 it really shocked me that so many people actually believed it and even wished it to be true. Maybe they just want it to be true for the memes, but still...its suprising how positive the feedback was for this 10 year old theory that was absolutely hated when it was first created.

Here’s the thing too uncle was really fucking smart too, early on rdr 2 he called Dutch on his bs and constantly saw through micah. Also he was able to last quite a while against the army when they stormed johns ranch. Not only was he smart, he was not gullible but also good at fighting
When Uncle is talking to John about the ranch in the epilogue his intelligence is truly apparent. His work ethic is what makes most underestimate him

It would sort of be ironic that the character that is usually thought of as a joke by the other characters was actually one of the best gunfighters in the Red Dead series.

I love how they made Uncle more cheerful in the beginning of RDR2 than he was towards the end of RDR2 and the majority RDR1. You can tell he felt like he had another family taken from him when Dutch turned on everyone.

Honestly, he probably stopped fighting because of his legendary status. I can't imagine it's very pleasant to be known as a killer or, for that matter, to kill others in the first place no matter what they did.

Actually if looked at the year, red Harlow was in his 20s during 1880 and uncle said sometime between the fall of '49 and the fall of Rome, so he was in his 30s around 1880. And the fact the he said that he was know as the one shot kid in his youth, my best bet that he’s not red Harlow probably knew him in person. Because when you go back there’s a character name curly Shaw and he look similar to uncle and that he was born the year of 1842, he was 37 in the year of 1880.

The stuff in RDR2 are Easter eggs to the Uncle Harlow theory from 2010. Even tho it was debunked in 2011 alot of people still seem to love the theory in the 2020s. R* probably know this and add those details in the game to make us more curious of Uncle's "REAL" backstory im not talking about Red Harlow.

After playing RD1 I never antagonized uncle because of what he did. Sure he was a little lazy but he was always respectful, funny, and never did anyone in the camp wrong

Look at it this way, the first Native he ever saw slain was his mother, i wouldn't be surprised if the two topics/trauma was associated to him.

People often forget or don't know that alot of people use humor as a coping mechanism to hide and mask true scars/trauma. Alot of the biggest jokers/jesters and arguably best comedians have been in their personal lives deeply depressed and hurt people.

@Toland Belmar he's probably referencing the wiki "Red Dead Redemption is not a direct sequel to Red Dead Revolver, instead it is a loosely-based spiritual successor to the previous title." And also "Rockstar Games writer and producer Dan Houser also stated that the game's events take place in its own canon." But honestly for me one PR statement makes it hard to ignore that fact that they put time and effort into making reoccurring places, characters and legends that hint it all takes place in the same world.
But this isn't the first time a game has had "official cannon" conflict with easter eggs and hints.
At the end of the day it is all fiction anyway.
Whos to say the games dont take place in parallel yet virtually identical universe.
One universe where uncle is Red Harlow and one universe where he might just think he is, aswell as any other variation of possibilities

I like this theory. Makes Uncle seem more like an Uncle Iroh figure, but with rougher edges and more laziness. He's got his wisdom and he's seen his share, but decided to find his peace in each moment he can even if it doesn't come often or easy. Eventually, he found himself with a family that looked too familiar, and stuck around in the hopes it might go better for them this time.
So in one of the missions uncle said "man I wasn't that fast" so that's why you can't sprint in red dead revolver

Or you know, engine limitations back then... sprinting could have likely "broke" the game in multiple ways so it was left out. Even today, if you get enough speed you'll break through walls in almost every game, then likely be stuck somewhere you weren't mean to reach.

Perhaps it can take place in 1916 and have it be about Jack Marston. We can have some of the characters from the first game like Bonnie MacFarlane, Seth, and Nigel West Dickens reappear, take control of Jack again and find out what life has in store for him, take down the remaining gangs, have Sadie Adler return ONE LAST TIME, and somehow conclude the tale of the Marston and Van Der Linde gang and maybe cut to about a few years in the future to the 1920s where cars, streets, and cities are everywhere and find out what happens to Jack and if he has a wife and kids maybe. That's at least my thoughts. If some of you are wondering what happened to some of the characters from the first game there is a video that covered it. Uncle also wears one glove on his right hand in rdr1. That’s the most blatant evidence I can see that you’re right. They expanded it in rdr2 by giving him slight burn scars and a red bandana, just in case it wasn’t obvious enough in the first one

The biggest gripe with this theory is that Harlow looks and sounds like 14 to 16 year old in the cutscene where his parents die. Uncle says he was nine when his parents died. Red Harlow definitely was a good bit older than 9 when his parents died.
They do that because they know you boneheads are looking for it, and it keeps you coming back. They don't even have to work, or pay for market research. Just sit back and scroll the endless thread of theories...
@@mcstotti8691 let's look at it as a timeline though too.. things from the later red dead...like a car "the models used," the telegraph, the actual fbi not Pinkertons, the war in red dead when you blow up the bridge, you can pay homage to things but all of those would definitely put a bigger separation between red dead revolver and redemption
@@GBrimstone the theory is that red harlow and uncle are the same person so they would have lived the exact same lives. red harlow is definitely a teenager when his parents die. We also know uncle was 9 when his died. Unless one can definitely disproof this the theory is disproven. Trying to shift around the timeline does only change when things happened not the details of how they happened. This is a clear nod towards the theory not beeing true from rockstar. If they wanted to leave it amibigous they would have had uncle say he lost his parents at 12 because red harlow beeing a rather mature 12 year old could be the case. If they wanted to outright confirm it they would have had uncle say 14 or 15 because that would have been about the age harlow looks and sounds in that scene. But rockstar deliberately choose uncle to say nine which is just to young for him to be harlow.
And that reasoning pulls itself through the whole theory. Uncle has done a few things in a similar to red harlow but they are similar never the same when they would need to align a lot closer. And uncle lacks the grievous scars of harlow and no those aren't the kind of scars that just fade away. Into wrinkles. The details just dont match. And the details matching is the difference between a proving and disproving a theory.
I respect the restraint the writers had for not spilling the beans completely at some point online. So much work, and only identifiable to people who care to look for it.
Kudos. Makes perfect sense why Uncle functions as the angel on the gang's shoulders... and why he was, thematically, among the last to go.
Everyone was so mean to Uncle. He was an old man. No one just let him enjoy himself.

No doubt about it. Red Harlow was the exaggerated stories told about Uncle's youth.
Red Harlow had hypertrophic scars on his face. Those heal and disappear over time. It's keloid scars that never go away, since they grow over time and act similar to cancer. I've had some gnarly scars, and never got a keloid scar. A fencepost cut me to the ribs as a kid, and that scar is all but gone. A few years before that, a horse ran me under a tree (clotheslined me with a bough and knocked me out of the saddle). That tree left a massive scar wrapped around my forearm, but it's nearly invisible now. It took 12-15 years for those big-ass scars to fade away.
At Uncle's age, any scars from his youth will look like extra wrinkles. Except for burn scars, which can cause contracture scars, but those usually fade. Especially on the palm and fingers, where new skin grows more rapidly than most areas.

@@collincaperton6718 I didn't antagonize Jack ever on any of my playthrough's. My first playthrough I was nice while going for high honor. In the second one every adult in the gang was fair game. Some real interesting dialogue if you ever do.
The ranch in New Austin is simply too well done and it sells this theory to me. Also, the red piece of cloth might look like just a random color that Rockstar picked, but I don't think so, since their attention to detail and ability to slip little references to other games is simply amazing.

I mean it makes sense, he avenged his parents, joined a gang and did good in his own eyes, got old, then simply decided he’s too old to care what anybody thinks of him.
Though he’d have known the gang wouldn’t have outed him to the officials had he revealed his true identity, to me it follows that he was content to let sleeping dogs lie; happy to not open that can of worms to the gang and deal with the fallout of being the local celebrity.
To me he seems perfectly content to kick back, drink and spend the rest of his life happily doing nothing. He doesn’t owe anybody anything after his decades of hard work, I think he deserves to finally take a backseat and do fuckin nothing, and so does he.
Lay off the man he’s had a difficult life, don’t reward him by antagonizing him, just greet the guy instead. I swear once you start talking to him you realize he’s not a bad guy, just tired
@@MattNeufy And besides, it's been already confirmed that Red Harlow existed but the events of Red Revolver were exaggerated and thus why people don't believe that he doesn't exist, even though he was.
But didn‘t Rockstar themselves say at one point that Revolver isn‘t part of the Redemption universe and canon? All these clues do make a lot of sense, though

I mean, yes. Uncle has no back stories and he seem to talk all kinds of crap that doesn't tally but then again if you think about it, it does. He can ranch, he can build and he damn well can shoot for the life out of it much like any of Dutch's own shooting men. Look at RDR2. The tip he gave about the robbery of the bank coach. The tip was wack but when it went wild, Uncle did his fair share of shooting and in fact, everyone got out unscathed. In RDR1, the same thing happened. The ranch was overran by US Cavalry forces and Uncle held his own, repelling wave after wave till he himself was shot. Even in both RDR1 and 2, he helped in ranching horses, cows and in 2, even helped Marston in building Beecher's Hope when he ain't lifting a finger.
That speaks volume in what kind of man Uncle used to be. He might have left the life but still, it lingers with him or at least the skills he honed before he got into Dutch's posse. Uncle's incessant drinking might be a way for him to cover up his past misdeeds and to drown himself away from the misery and PTSD he suffered all those years back. I mean, watching your parents die infront of your eyes and going on a crazy killing spree along the way just harms your mentality in the long run and during those times, psychology isn't treatable and drinking became a huge part of the "cure" for such problems and Uncle might be using that as a mechanism. However, the more he drank, the more laidback he became and because Red became a criminal in the end of Revolver, it makes absolute sense on why Uncle would come into contact with Dutch as Dutch's visionary at that point of time wasn't that bad and at least he did what he said he was going to do which was a good cause and Uncle believed him.
Plus, to boot, Uncle does speak in the same form like Red. You can change everything with a beard or outlook but how a person speak sticks with him, forever.

Jack actually reads a bit of Red Harlow's story to John aswell in a cutscene in RDR1. I think R* did that on purpose as a way of passing the torch to Jack.

People forget how the story of RDR is told by someone who wasn't even there. Red probably was NOT the badass bounty hunter we play in the game. He was just a bounty hunter who made some mistakes on the basis of his infancy trauma - seeing both your parents being killed when you're 9 years old is something you'll NEVER forget - and then went on the run - probably after killing the governor (?) -. But one thing is for sure, the theory that Uncle is Red is one of the most plausable right now.

During the story mode, if u look into Uncle holster, he carry a unique schofield, that remember a lot Red pistol from red dead revolver
The only difference is that its a Remington and Uncle's a Schofield, but both of them are .45 caliber.

God the style on this thing is immaculate, the white text that slightly overlaps/fades-in is so good. Exactly how I remember these videos being.
I tried hard to make it look and feel like the ones from 2010-2012 with a modern twist, happy to see you enjoyed it.
Another detail that kind of helps sell it is the red rag uncle wears in his pocket, it has 2 bullet holes in it, if it were worn around the neck like Red's dad was wearing it it would explain why it has 2 holes. The bullet passing through the cloth as it was wrapped or folded over itself, and a shot in the upper chest/neck area is pretty lethal. Uncle is RedHarlow and you can't change my mind.

Several things to tell you this theory isn’t true.
At 5:31, there are clearly scars on red face. One on the nose, one on the small cheek, and a tiny one between his eyes. Uncle has no scars on the right. Scars don’t just go away.
Secondly, the house that is burned down in red dead revolver and red dead 2, is completely made of wood, and the house you show in red dead redemption 1, is made out of bricks. They are not even the same house.
These characters have zero connection with each other, except that they used to have ranches.
