NOTE TO ABLETON USERS: For MIDI controlling Neural DSP plugins within Ableton. You will need to use Note messages with positive note velocities instead of CC messages. That is the only way Neural's plugins respond to Ableton MIDI right now.
Does that mean that there is no way to use an expression pedal with the Neural DSP VST in Ableton, since the Expression Preset Messages do not include Note messages?

LOVE my MC6 MKII
Plugins are a great way to get amazing tones without needing too much hardware and cables. They are also fantastic for recording in a DAW. But they are often uninspiring to engage with, especially when you're a guitar player. Now you can keep both hands on your guitar and still have control over your plugins!

you've made several awesome videos for things i use like Ableton and Neural DSP--- I can't tell you how awesome that is. Could you make a video using BOTH ableton LIve AND Neural DSP for say looping where you're controlling both at the same time (Neural DSP & Ableton)?

Unfortunately I couldn’t get this to work in MainStage ( I find most Apple programs very counterintuitive) even thought the controller was recognised I couldn’t get the plugin to react.
However I use the standalone version ( of Petrucci) and use the loopback facility of the Focusrite interface to channel the Petrucci output to a MainStage channel , rather than use the Petrucci plugin.
I just use MainStage as a live mixer ( in edit mode) and it works really well ( and was free with the MacBook) and it also has my Toontrack drum kit on a channel.
If I changes patches in Petrucci ( I used to save the patch with an effect activated and then have a seperate patch without or with a different effect ) there is a slight gap in the sound ,but by changing the fx only it is instantaneous.
I use an Airstep to change GTR patches and Fx.

Hi. Gaps in sound are not caused by the MIDI controller as MIDI messages get sent instantly. That is due to the software/device you are controlling.
I have been looking at this controller and a few others... I wish I could buy this one. Looks like I have to get the MelonAudio device.

Hi. Yes, you can. MIDI gets sent simultaneously from all MIDI outputs and the USB port. Just set your DAW and pedals to different MIDI channels to differentiate them.
Is there any gapless or spillover feature in Neural DSP plugin ?
I dont want my sound cut off when changing preset
If I wanted to control both wah and volume within the plugin using the same expression pedal, can this be easily switched on the fly? Is there something like an ability to tap a footswitch to maybe cycle the CC number of the expression pedal so it can at different times be wah vs. volume pedal? I'm trying to avoid having to get 2 expression pedals for this and assign them separate CC numbers. Thanks!

is there any delay/latency when switching between presets?
I’m in the process of getting my first midi foot controller and one of my friend told me about your brand. My only concern is would this product work with other plugins more specifically the stl tone Amphub if i want to lets says map pc1 thru pc8 for amp switching ? Thank you guys!
Hi. Our controllers work with any device or software that accepts MIDI. As long as the functions/parameters you want to control on your software can be controlled by MIDI, it will work well.
I do lives and make content on tiktok I'm currently using nueral.. what kind of pedal can I get to use to switch between my effects?
As far as I'm concerned, the biggest problem is changing presets in plugins. I mean changins are not smooth as processors or fx loop controlled setups. For example, If you change a delay and reverb added-preset to hi gain rhythm preset all ambience stops immediately in plugins :/ So i had to buy a processor for live using.

Can I do a setup that switches between multiple different Neural DSP Plugin presets? For example I would like to use a preset in the Rabea Massad plugin and then Nolly plugin.
Hi. Yes, you can easily do that. Just set each plugins to respond to MIDI from different channels. And send the messages meant for each on their respective channels.

Hi, what if I have an issue with Archetype Gojira that I have small delay between switching presets(half of second or less +-). So it's kinda bad for playing live performance with my brand new POD GO WIRELESS from LINE 6 and I'm using it as foot switcher. I can't find answer anywhere do you have any suggestions or fixes?
Hi. We don't have experience using the hardware you mentioned and are not able to advise. We have not experienced any delay when switching presets using our controllers with Neural DSP plugins.

Hi, great video! I noticed you don't have silence ( jump ) between preset change #PC. I use Neural DSP Soldano SLO 100 plugin and foot midi controller but I have a big silence between preset change... do you have any idea?

@@JaM112 I sent an email at Neural DSP. They told me that for this plugin is impossible to remove the gap between change presets. The only way is use #CC like an real amp

how do i put the amp in petrucci? i still dont get how to do it. so first i rename the slots using morningstar editor then after that do i need to have a logic pro? i tried opening the peteucci and went to midi mappings but i dont know how to add the main amp petrucci and how to add the other amps thats been programed already.😢

You can use any expression pedal that is compatible with our MIDI controllers.
Any possibility of replicating the Vidami capability? Basically a TH-cam controller to start, stop, initiate a loop, slow down playback etc would be awesome 👌

I have Amped plugins, root and stevie T. The plugin finds my foot controller but I cant seem to find how to assign things
Hi. You will need to learn how your plugin software handles MIDI learning and assignment.
How am I supposed to handle the silence when changing between presets? I need a couple of things ON too quickly and I can’t press many buttons. So, this is a problem

is the tuner of Neural DSP able to be activated with MC6?
Hi. At the moment, Neural has not made the tuner to be MIDI controllable.
does it work on multi effects pedal like nux mg300 or mg 30?
Hi. As long as your receiving devices accepts MIDI for external control, it will work well. However, the devices you mentioned look like they do not have MIDI ports on them.
I’m still confused how you can use the same button to change presets that’s also used to turn on/off say the delay pedal 🫤
Same switch but in a different bank. The MC8 has 30 banks of programmable switches so you can program each one to do what you want.
Can I add 2 expression pedals and Map them out the same way, any changes need to be made?
Hi! Yes, you can. Just make sure that each expression pedal is sending different CC numbers so they do not overlap.

For using the automation in Logic do you still need to configure both an audio track and a midi track? If yes, how to bypass the limitation on be forced to record the track with fx printed instead of a clean one? thank you, I am deciding which pedal to buy and this is essential coming from guitar rig and rig kontrol that was perfect and unfortunately no more supported by native and apple m1

Can it be used for looping controller?
Hi. Yes, you can. There is a looper mode on this controller that eliminates latency when you use it to control a looping pedal/device. We made a video explaining that here: th-cam.com/video/pZH2zf8Dk4E/w-d-xo.html There have since been further improvements made to this feature such as having only selected switches be in Looper Mode. But this video will explain the basics.
how do I turn up the tuner with a midi controller?
Hi. Neural has not added MIDI control capabilities for the tuner in their plugins.

Hmm doesnt really work at all. As good as Logic is, it does MIDI like crap...If at any time I get something to move with my expression pedal, all that hard work setting it up is gone the next day. All the parameters are still there, yet it just wont work any more. The MIDI Learn function does its thing in Logic....but nothing happens when it gets learned. Its dog shit
