This is part one of a two part series devoted towards utilizing Neural DSP plugins to play live. This will cover playing on a stage as well as digital performances as well. In this video, Steven goes over MIDI mapping and setting up a few different rigs depending on circumstances such as your CPU, plugin collection, and whether you're playing live or streaming to a platform. In part two, Steven will go over automation to a click track as well as getting your audio into programs such as OBS and Streamlabs OBS in order to stream your performance to the platform of your choice.

All of this is mostly done via neural dsp. The only thing would probably be just routing a midi track to the plug-ins with alt-r.

After month and month, may be a couple of years, of trying to figured out how to control plugins with the FCB1010 and how to put those plugins un the same run, using elements of one (head, stomboxes, cabinet or after effects) and in line use another. I’m a little late to the party and off subject but I just got my first neural plugin yesterday, the “Nolly” and Its truly the best. Wish it had a tuner but beggars can’t be choosers. I’m loving the product and the content on TH-cam. Keep up the good work. I especially liked the Opeth video a few weeks back. Would like to see more for sure!

Thank you! I actually use Reaper, but I was able to translate all the Pro Tools-specific terminlogy to Reaper quite easily (they don't work so differently from eachother).

Hi! I am currently using a boss gt-1 muli-effects pedal as audio interface with my guitar then the pedal is connect to my pc with usb plug to use the neural dsp plugins.
But somehow there is always a latency issue bad enough to distract my live playing. Also the standalone version of the plug-in won't let me use the as input as my pedal and then output as something that directly plays my playing, it has to go back to my pedal first(This is does happen with any other DAW). I have tried many methods such as configuring the I/O and audio device type. Thanks in advance.

Anyone else experiencing a slight delay with switching presets? I am using the FCB1010 connected to a Focusrite 2i4. MIDI-OX seems to be receiving the midi signal instantly, but neural dsp lags audibly between switching presets. Kinda makes it useless in a live setting.

when i automate preset changings it usually creates a blip when the automation comes in. how can i have a clean transition between the changes?

What if I want a clean sound from Tim's plugin but a high gain from Rabea's plugin? Probably answering my own question but can I setup midi from just one plug in or do I have to setup midi in each plugin. I use Logic Pro X by the way... OH and also can't I just use the stand alone minus the DAW?

Anyone know how can i get less latency / stability for the plugins? Would it work if i upgraded the ram of my pc? Or what would i have to do? (Sorry im not really an expert)
Question: my audio interface (Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen) does not have a midi port. Could I connect the behringer midi controller you are using directly to my MacBook (using a midi 5 pin to USB adapter)? Or is there some reason why the foot controller has to go into the audio interface (I can’t think of one)? Thank you!

Can you do this same thing with Ableton? I’m able to control the Neural stand-alone but can’t figure out how to within ableton. Using live logic pedal.
Took me some time but finally made it using a midi track for the controller. Set "Midi from" to the controller, "Midi to" the track with the plugin and you should be good to go. The offset in PC message (listen CAREFULLY around 02:00 in this video) drove me made. No idea where it comes from but be aware of this. That begin said, it works!

How to save the rig configuration on computer ? It seems that we can only save presets and I don't find anything in the manual about this
i'm brand new to all this plug in stuff. I just got an audio interface, downloaded pro tools, got the gojira plug in and when I open all that up in pro tools, I don't get any distortion whatsoever, everything is a flat clean tone and no matter what I do with the knobs on the plug in, my tone doesn't change in the slightest. Even messing around with the setting in pro tools (not plug in related) I still get no change in guitar tone. I know my stuff is working and connected properly because I get feedback on the interface so I'm really stumped on what I need to do to actually get guitar tone out of these plug ins

Ok, everything’s clear. Even this user unfriendly fcb1010, but it still doesn’t work. I’m using a Focusrite with Logic Pro x. I see that logic receives some midi message because the indicator next to the time is flashing. But the plug-in doesn’t respond 😭 I’ve tried it with a virtual instrument track and a midi track with virtual instrument on it. Any idea, anyone?

Anyone else running into issues using PC messages even for basic preset changes in a DAW? My plugins don't seem to be getting program change messages in any DAW, but can receive them just fine in their stand alone versions. I've had to only use CC and Note messages when programming midi if I'm trying to use it in a DAW or with Gig Performer and the like. Any help would be MUCH appreciated! 🙏

Is it possible to set up the FCB1010 using the Cory Wong as a stand alone....i.e not via a DAW and straight back into a mixer (e.g. Behringer XR18)? How would you programme that? Also can you programme the Cory Wong pre-set tones to the FCB1010?
I bought this midi pedal purely from watching this video. Can't set it up after watching video about 5 times. Using reaper and a USB adaptor for the pedal. Getting headaches now

Im in Logic, everything works okayish, accept "Next Preset". That just wont map to ANYTHING on the Akai MPK 249. Its always great in the standalone which means its just sucky Logic mapping again...
