One of my favorite Neural Dsp videos. Too bad it doesnt cover the only one i bought Mateus Asato 😅. Could you do a Neural Dsp tier list? No one did it for one year or more, and the only kinda recent was some months ago and was only focus for high gain tones.
Dude, thank you so much for this. Trying to decide which one to get first and this really clarifies it for me. Looks like I need to trial Rabea for the cleans and Nolly for the heavy. Fantastic video. Thanks again.
Very well done and helpful. Probably the best review of this type I've seen. The only thing that would have made it better is if you had also included the models that come with the unit itself to let us know if we can save money on not having to buy a certain plug-in.
Hey pax, new viewer. This was quality. Serious quality. Examples sound great. Info is new and interesting. Decision at the end was super useful and enlightening. Good job man!
OK, so here’s my situation. My place got robbed. I’m having to go this whole guitar SIM route because everything I had is gone now. I only have one guitar and interface, DI box and the m4 Mac mini I purchased. Should be here in about 10 days since there’s a sale going on. I need to make my choice before I can try them out. Let me give you as much information The music I play is similar to Breaking Benjamin, which means I need a good array of clean tones, but the guitar I have is an Ibanez 652 prestige obviously passive pick ups and I don’t have baritones anymore since they were stolen and a lot of of my songs are in drop A# drop B and the guitar will be set up for drop C. It’s not even here yet either Long story short, I’m trying to think of one plug-in I can get since that’s all I can afford after having to get all this stuff. Then what kind of cover all the bases? I mean I checked out the updated version with Nolly playing the tones and what not and then switching guitars when he’s playing the lower tuned stuff Of course I’m going to have to use the transpose feature for tracking at -2 Since I only have one guitar and don’t have an option and getting two, but it has passive pick ups, of course. Only time I saw him switch for the lower tune stuff was always to a baritone scale guitar It seems like Nolly covers all the bases except for stuff like chorus and trem etc. If I had the option to get nolly and petrucci I would. Especially for those clean tones and effects. From petrucci And of course, with the amp SIM being set up for Nolly I’m curious if it’s going to work or if it’s gonna give me a bunch of problems because I have passive pickups and have to use the transpose function even though it’s only a -2 I have a terminal illness, so I’m trying to get this stuff done as quickly as possible without having to spend forever trying to dial every single thing in to get it. Perfect. Of course, I’ll have to find something else for course affect and what not for the time being, but would you recommend Nolly for that kind of music? Since it seems like it covers all the bases since it’s been updated. Minus what I mentioned. Or can you get good chugs from Petrucci? As you know, Breaking Benjamin doesn’t exactly play a bunch of solos. So for the most part, I’m a rhythm guitar player. Half of my songs are in drop A# But I had to get a regular scale guitar since some of the other songs obviously are not in that tuning And I’m definitely not going to be setting up the scale guitar for drop A# Especially when transpose is available Any advice? I’ve gotta make a choice before long and since I won’t get a chance to try them out, I kinda have to go based off opinions of other people and videos. I watch and every video has a different opinion.
@feedthewolf6930 petrucci was just updated too. I'm leaning petrucci since it comes with an acoustic amp and I sometimes write stuff for Acoustic specifically. I don't remember if Nolly had Clean stuff but it should have at least one Clean amp but I would watch a few youtube videos for both and choose whichever one has what you thing you need more
Here's my best bang for your buck list to get as much as possible. Nolly, Petrucci, Cory Wong, Morgan Suite. Here's my reasoning. Nolly covers both the peavey and marshall. Petrucci has a mesa and it comes with an acoustic amp which the others I don't think have. Cory Wong for 120 and the dumble. Morgan suite for the fender and vox. You'll basically be able to make tones for any genre with this kind of set up. I'm going to try the free trial for these to double check before I buy them
Very currently relevant content! Thanks for summarizing it in under 15 minutes!🤘 I've been on the fence in just getting an interface and just grabbing plugins rather than lugging around floorboards. Looking forward to the "effects plugins" only version of this rundown. And possibly an updated 'best of the best interfaces' that uses usb c on a mac? Great quality content, bro! Thanks for sharing!❤
Fortin Cali, Nameless, and Peteucci you got everything you will ever need. Cali for versatile high gain to clean, Peteucci for depth of tones and ambience with high gain, and Nameless for djent brutality.
Great video, i see you didnt include Asato, which has a Bogner shiva (marshall sound), a Matchless (Vox sound) and a lonestar (can cover abit of fenderish and modern/jazzy clean sounds) AND a top notch pedal selection with an overdrive pedal with a mid control knob for a more transparent sound, a fuzzy pedal, a compresor, and a tremolo/vibrato/chorus pedal, you can get a great 4 Plugin section with Nolly, Petrucci, Asato and Wong, you get every amp flavor PLUS every pedal flavor.
if you only want to buy one plugin, buy the archetype gojira, the cleans are amazing and can be either prestine or with edge of break up, hi gain tones are outstanding and also has a really great crunchy marshally amp alongside the 5150 III amp
Great video! The two channels of Rabea's Kraken are also very much inspired by a JCM900 and a 5150. The Gojira clean amp was I think a Fender Tweed. And if you want to count them, Nameless is a modified Plexi and even the Fortin Cali is modified Marshall territory. Wonder when they're gonna do a Rectifier... I'd be really interested in what some of the drive or other pedals used in all of these plugins are!
That was a good roundup. I like Nolly best overall. Because, I prefer it's 5150, and I actually like it's chunkier JCM800, even if it's not classic, it's a little less shrill than the Tom Morello. Though it's not exactly Fender based, I think the Nolly #1 amp (based on a Bognor Shiva) is a really nice clean amp. You get that bonus Victory amp too for leads with Nolly, and it has a lot of character and screams nicely. For high-gain, nothing beats Fortin Nameless. And for cleans, the Morgan Suite is my choice. So, Nolly, if I had to pick one. Then Morgan for clean variety, and Nameless to push the brutal gain even further. After than, my fourth choice would be the Toneking Imperial, for those big Fender cleans. I'd really like NDSP to do an Orange/Matamp, maybe team up with Orange and Markus King. Or even Matt Pike, that would be insane.

@@feedthewolf6930 If you had to choose absolutely ONE I'd say the Nolly I like the Mesa Boogie one more but it is alittle harder to use, I just love tinkering lol and while technically I think i can get every sound the journey there isn't as easy as it would like a Marshall or 5150 (both something that the Nolly has) The Nolly is alot easier to just plug in and play and has 4 amps instead of 2 On top of recently receiving a great update that i hope the Mesa Boogie gets soon lol
Hey great video! I’m new to the plug-in world and I’m in the market to buy something that suits my needs. So here’s a question. I see Neural DSP also has a physical device. I was wondering what’s the difference if I buy a plug-in or a physical device. My main goal is to be able to have great guitar tone for my releases on Spotify and as a session musician. If I can do it just through a laptop and get almost similar tones as a physical pedalboard. I would go for the plug-in immediately. Please let me know your thoughts.
I have archetype Tim Henson and the Mesa Boogie suite and I wanna buy another plugin. I am thinking of getting Nolly, Nameless X or Morgan. What do you recommend??
master meron akung valeton gp200 at meron din akung plugin paano ko kaya magagawang midi controller yung gp200 sa plugin ko or pwede ko ba sila pag samahin sana mabigyan moko ng idea salamat po sa connection at step by step🙏🙏🙏
Nolly is very versatile talaga. Still my go to. You’ll notice that there are similar amps that actually sound better. But nolly is the most “vanilla”, kaya madali siyang imix.
Sir pax sana meron plang mga time stamps pra mdali balikan ung sound samples habang viniview ung graph. Pero nonetheless 9.9 out of 10 pdn, slamat ng madami!
dang i wish Archetype Asato was included hahah I already have Cory Wong and Asato. I kind of still want to get either Tim's for that multivoicer but a bit too much for me if I'm just buying it for that. I'm more of a blues/neosoul guy so Morgan and/or Tone King are good picks. BUT I can kind of getaway with what I currently have so maybe I'd go for Nolly for the heavier tones
Man i am levitating around Gojira X and Nolly X , and can't decide at all :( While i feel Gojira x sounds cleaner on hi gain chords i love the "djenty" feel of Nolly X
This is the best video I've watched covering amp sims. you even name dropped bands that used the sounds and played them.
You went ALL the way in with this video 🔥
Glad to be of help 🫶

Excellent video buyer's guide for NDSP Plug-Ins. This is now even more important as plug-in compatibility is now here with the Quad Cortex allowing you to use these amps in building presets for live use. Well done!!
Wow, if only everyone did a comparison like this. Great job!
In depth and well thought out video on a relevant topic. Dude, you crushed this!

@I_just_like_guitars Hey there!

Custom 24 10-top Emerald

very important question!!
OK, so here’s my situation. My place got robbed. I’m having to go this whole guitar SIM route because everything I had is gone now. I only have one guitar and interface, DI box and the m4 Mac mini I purchased Should be here in about 10 days.
since there’s a sale going on I need to make my choice before I can try them out. Let me give you as much information as I can
The music I play is similar to Breaking Benjamin, which means I need a good array of clean tones, but the guitar I will have is an Ibanez 652 prestige obviously passive pick ups and I don’t have baritones anymore since they were stolen and a lot of of my songs are in drop A# drop B/C
the guitar will be set up for drop C.
It’s not even here yet either
Long story short, I’m trying to think of one plug-in I can get since that’s all I can afford after having to get all this stuff that can kind of cover all the bases? I mean I checked out the updated version with Nolly playing the tones and what not and then switching guitars when he’s playing the lower tuned stuff
Of course I’m going to have to use the transpose feature for tracking at -2 for tracking
Since I only have one guitar and don’t have an option of getting two sims
I’m curious if you still think this would be a good one to go with.
Where my concern is is, of course, when you switch to lower tuned stuff, he switched guitars and obviously this one has passive pick ups not active.
Only time I saw him switch for the lower tune stuff was always to a baritone scale guitar
It seems like Nolly covers all the bases except for stuff like chorus and trem etc. If I had the option to get nolly and petrucci I would. Especially for those clean tones and effects. From petrucci
And of course, with the amp SIM being set up for Nolly I’m curious if it’s going to work or if it’s gonna give me a bunch of problems because I have passive pickups and have to use the transpose function even though it’s only a -2
I have a terminal illness, so I’m trying to get this stuff done as quickly as possible without having to spend forever trying to dial every single thing in to get it. Perfect.
Of course, I’ll have to find something else for chorus affect and what not for the time being, but would you recommend Nolly for that kind of music? Since it seems like it covers all the bases since it’s been updated.
Minus what I mentioned. Or can you get good chugs from
Petrucci?
As you know, Breaking Benjamin doesn’t exactly play a bunch of solos. So for the most part, I’m a rhythm guitar player. But still playing heavy and petrucci seems like it’s really good for cleans and effects and of course lead.
Half of my songs are in drop A#
But I had to get a regular scale guitar since some of the other songs obviously are not in that tuning
And I’m definitely not going to be setting up reg scale guitar for drop A#
Especially when transpose is available and I have songs another tunings
Any advice? I’ve gotta make a choice before long and since I won’t get a chance to try them out, I kinda have to go based off opinions of other people and videos. I watch and every video has a different opinion.
@@feedthewolf6930 If you had to choose absolutely ONE I'd say the Nolly
I like the Mesa Boogie one more but it is alittle harder to use, I just love tinkering lol and while technically I think i can get every sound the journey there isn't as easy as it would like a Marshall or 5150 (both something that the Nolly has)
The Nolly is alot easier to just plug in and play and has 4 amps instead of 2
On top of recently receiving a great update that i hope the Mesa Boogie gets soon lol
Great job Man! Thanks!
Excellent content sir.
Thank you. This was very helpful.
Hi men! What do you recomend to clean tones, morgan or mateus asato? I want to play blues and R&B
This is one of the best comparison videos on the neural dsp plugins ever, if it was a bit longer it would still be interesting to watch. Thanks !
Pax! Please, do a video about using real life pedal rigs to plugin amps!
I have Plini, Abasi, Nolly and Cory Wong. Might get Morgan Amps or the Tone King Imperial since I rely more on clean and edge-of-breakup tones :D
Morgan before Tone King HAHA
Thanks brother just got the gorilla plug in for $90 almost paid $130 appreciate the code
I don’t do plug ins but owned the quad cortex
Excelente video, amigo
Really cool video.

Helped me pick out the one I want. A like and sub for you!
This guide is the one!

Oo nga no, parang shoegaze nga yon. HAHAHAHA. Gagalit na si Abasi, imbes na ipang djent pinang 1975 e hahahaha
@@PAXmusicgearlifestyle basta pasok ang tone pwede yan AHAHAHAHA lupit mo talaga idol
I have archetype Tim Henson and the Mesa Boogie suite and I wanna buy another plugin. I am thinking of getting Nolly, Nameless X or Morgan. What do you recommend??
Thanks, you’re the goat
I will buy Nolly and Cory Wong!
master meron akung valeton gp200 at meron din akung plugin paano ko kaya magagawang midi controller yung gp200 sa plugin ko or pwede ko ba sila pag samahin sana mabigyan moko ng idea salamat po sa connection at step by step🙏🙏🙏
you shred!
Everyone should have the Fortin Nameless 😈
Pax is there a difference between Archetype Plini and Plini X?
Pax, pa-review naman ng Bogren Digital Ampknob series specifically the Trivium Bundle.
Gumagamit ka pa rin ba ng pedals with those amps?
Kuya Pax Review naman ng Tank G Effects
I have an archetype Nolly. Mas gingamit ko to kesa sa guitar rig 6. Swak talaga para sakin tunog ng Nolly kesa sa ibang plugins na nagamit ko.
Nolly is very versatile talaga. Still my go to. You’ll notice that there are similar amps that actually sound better. But nolly is the most “vanilla”, kaya madali siyang imix.
if church musician ano magandang umpisahan nolly or plini? salamat pax!
Sir pax sana meron plang mga time stamps pra mdali balikan ung sound samples habang viniview ung graph. Pero nonetheless 9.9 out of 10 pdn, slamat ng madami!
seguro mga 3 months pa bago mabili ko yung "Cory Wong" and "Morgan Amps Suite"🙌🏻 HAHAHAHAHA
It would be great If there was a printout of this information. A spreadsheet maybe! Cool vid! Well thought out.
sir next video best string gauge for prs guitar🙏
dang i wish Archetype Asato was included hahah I already have Cory Wong and Asato.
If I want to play music like Novelists? What combination should I use?
Sir Pax sa tank-G po next time 🙏
Which audio interfaces do you recommend with the Neural plugins?
Focusrite is still a thing.
Altho if budget isnt an issue, get an Audient Id14, MOTU M2, SSL or Apollo Twin
May counter part ba na bassist tong si sir pax? Sana may nag cocontent din na gnto pero bass naman. Hahah. If meron pa recommend naman salamat.
Man i am levitating around Gojira X and Nolly X , and can't decide at all :( While i feel Gojira x sounds cleaner on hi gain chords i love the "djenty" feel of Nolly X
aaaahhhh what about fortin and granophyre. I loved these two
Love them too! I would put them in the advanced category, for those looking for specific botique amps sounds
