    Just got this badboy at best buy yesterday to use as a 2nd side monitor next to my ultra wide... Only paid $179 open box excellent. Anyone looking to get this it's on sale for new $229 at Best Buy rn! Grab it up before it's gone.
    Edit: just looked again and the new box excellent is already back up to $209 so they must be selling alot of them! Obviously I would have just paid 20 more bucks for the new at the $229 sale price! 4 year geek squad warranty on my open box was only another 29 bucks 👍🏻🤙🏼

    Awesome freaking monitor, got this yesterday for my Birthday. This thing looks like it's gonna last a lifetime straight out of the box. First impressions, amazing smoothness, no other high hertz monitor has given such high performance and comfort. I use this for fast pace swordplay games, sometimes fps games, either way even my friends can tell I play all the games I used to play with better response time and accuracy. Classic gamer claim, don't doubt it for one minute. This thing is seamless, no ghosting, no tearing, so sharp and smooth at the same time. As you can tell I'm super happy with this.

    From what I’ve read online the differences are that the 27GP850B is overclockable to 185Hz, has a USB hub, has a strobing/black frame insertion mode, and is factory calibrated while the 83B is 165Hz and doesn’t have these features but is otherwise identical.

    Have been using this monitor for around 4 months now and the color is quite incredible and you can manually oc it to 175hz no problem. I got called back to work in another city so I have to leave my alienware ultrawide monitor back home (box too big). I will stick with this one until I can find a really good 1440p ultrawide or 4k, preferrably with OLED or Mini LED. My 4090 is too overkill for this monitor haha. The 4090 is never overkill for 1440p / 165hz when you have games like alan wake 2, Dead space remastered and other games that are demanding which makes the 4090 more appealing without having to cut down on to many setting and the way games are coming out optimized now days. 4090 is perfect

    • @raikozy35
      @raikozy35 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DETERMINOLOGY No it's my monitor lol, you can force it to overclock to 174hz - 175 hz (your milage may vary), not through the monitor menu settings, but through the nvidia setting. I have been doing this force overclock thing since like 2010 maybe, when I didn't have enough money to buy a gaming high refresh rate monitor haha (did it to overclock my 60hz to 74hz). Yeah now looking back, if the games you play are like cyberpunk or alanwake, I guess you can crank everything up and still not hitting the cap. I have a really high end QD-OLED Tv too though (4k 120hz HDR), so sometime I just plug my PC to that when I want to get maximum eye candy.

    I went to the store to buy a Samsung G7 32 inch, but LG representative convinced me to get this. (The 32GP83B) I am glad I chose this IPS it has great colors. Best thing about this is the 32’’ size and the 1440p is I dont have to wear my glasses. The ratios are just for my eyes. I got very small backlight bleeding luckily. Tested the monitor on PS5 and left freesync on somehow I see 4K and 60hz. I found out the best mode for PS5 is Gamer 2 and RTS. They both use Fast mode instead of Fastest. Those modes are able to create less ghosting and jitter but makes the scene a bit darker. I had HDR on all times and the Fifa21 game looks great. On the PC I dont have a graphics card yet, I use DP on the motherboard with i5 11600k and I can still play good Valorant. I did overclock the igpu with Asus software though. Awesome video brother! I just purchased this monitor got it for 400$ at Best Buy and I haven’t messed with the settings much. Did you manage to get any better blacks out of it with your settings? I’m coming from a TN panel and the blacks on this ips (before tweaking settings) seem much worse. I will try the settings you posted in the description but either way any input helps! Thank you and keep up the great vids. You got my sub!

    • @BainCustom
      @BainCustom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The tough part is with IPS displays, the contrast ratio is much lower than TN or VA in most cases. Overall the color will be better, and the image will look more uniform, but sadly thats the downside with IPS. You can mess with black level / black stabilizer to see if that helps! I was about to get one of these from Best Buy, but I wanted to check out some videos and reviews first. This'll be a huge upgrade from what I have now so I'm getting it.
    I have a $350 Dell 1440p 144hz monitor that is just terrible with trails and ghosting.
    RDR2 will have 2 to 3 inch trails behind your horse at 120 to 140fps, if it gets below 80 fps, it is just so blurry and hurt my eyes and head. I have to set the graphics down enough to keep above 100fps. Luckily my 3090 ftw3 can do that easily at 1440p.
    I'd do 4k 120hz, but I already spent like 4k on my pc all together, so I didn't wanna spend $1000+ on a monitor, especially when 1440p at 27inches is fantastic for a monitor that I'm sitting closely to.

    • @BainCustom
      @BainCustom  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That all sounds rough! I have had a few monitors like that myself, I will say the 3090 has made the worst monitors af least bearable.
      I fortunately was able to get a 4k 144hz monitor, but I'm still a hold out for a better option. Either way, 1440p served me well and I will still hop on my old GP850 from time to time. It makes a difference in certain games, metro Exodus was the big game changer for 4k. I could see some rpg's looking better too.
      Thanks for the input btw, always good to hear your experience.

    I understand that there are differences with g-sync and g-sync compatibility, I would just like for content to show going into the nvidea control panel to help prove that it the monitor does or does not have the nvidea g-sync chip so you can turn it on or off in the control panel. My friend has this monitor and says he can turn g-sync on and off and I have the 850 and I don’t have the g-sync on/off settings in my control panel so that I suppose tells me I don’t have it however does he?

    • @BainCustom
      @BainCustom  ปีที่แล้ว

      You might have it wired differently, or some of the settings may be different. If you are over clocked on the refresh rate, it may not register the gsync. I would start by making sure you have the optimal wiring and settings to ensure gsync will function. Including updating all of your driver's and firmware's.

  • @Rocco7272
    @Rocco7272 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What are the best monitor settings (in regards to just the Adaptive free sync being set to off, basic, or extended & which response setting either being set to medium, fast, or fastest) -for Warzone gaming on a PS5.

    • @Rocco7272
      @Rocco7272 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In order to get 1ms response time btw

    • @BainCustom
      @BainCustom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So the off basic and extended refer to the range of VRR that the monitor will support. Since PS5 doesn't currently support VRR you want it off. Basic is standard range and extended is a higher fps range of VRR. I always run fast on this monitor for pixel response rate. If you're below 80-100fps, try medium. Hope this helps!

    I’ve had this monitor for a month now but the 32 inch, it’s been pretty solid. I’m not sure about the hdr capabilities though. It looks so horrible and hurts my eyes no matter what when using it as a computer. Looks fine in games. Not sure why haven’t had time to figure it out as I’ve been busy. But from what I can say, I came from a 4k 60hz Samsung monitor more geared towards content creation but looks fantastic for 4k gaming. I was always weary that I’d really like a high refresh rate monitor compared to a high resolution one. While I wish we could do 4k at 165hz it’s not feasible yet. But this is the next best thing. I can personally notice the difference but most people can’t see the difference between 2k and 4k on a monitor up to 32 inches. It’s been fun playing all the games I enjoy at 165hz I was hitting shots I’d normally not be able too. My response time seems to be faster than 60hz would let me do. If that makes any sense. It has honestly been my favorite monitor. I always enjoy the time I get to game even more than I used too.

    • @BainCustom
      @BainCustom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm in the camp that would rather have high refresh rate than high resolution, both if possible. At least when it comes to gaming, that high refresh rate and smooth motion makes a world of difference.
      I'm also in the category that can notice the difference between 2K and 4K. But I tend to overanalyze the monitors I do have, while I know some people may not. Anyways, glad you like the monitor and it's working well for you. If you're looking for any other monitors feel free to poke around the channel or let me know and I will see about reviewing it.

Hdr off on monitor and console. Any advice on best preset for response time as well as other settings? Most console games are 60fps that i play other than cold war. Hey thanks for watching! Glad you found the video and subscribed to the channel! For the FreeSync/Gsync, since it is the PS5 (console in general) they only use vrr/FreeSync and not Gsync. These monitors only utilize FreeSync over HDMI to be more specific.
      For the response time, I would use medium for 60fps and fast for 120fps. Those seem to be the best settings I have found for response time.

    • @BainCustom
      @BainCustom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as I'm aware the PS5 will only switch to 1080p 120hz when the game is capable of doing so. You can force the resolution to 1080p in the PS5 menus if you want to be sure, but 120hz is only allowed in the games that support that refresh rate, so maybe you just haven't gone into the right games?

      @@BainCustom well I eventually ended up buying it from my local best buy, looks very nice, colors are vivid and great. I did not get any bad screen bleed or glow nor dead pixels. Works pretty great with my games, I did see some noticeable ghosting on fps games using the 'faster' option, not so much on the other options. A little disappointing on that but it's not major.
