Why does HDR look so shitty?

1440p 120hz hdmi 2.0 does it work on Xbox Series S too? Pls I have Samsung Odyssey G5 Monitor 1440p 144hz hdmi 2.0 and I want to buy Xbox Series S, does it work?

I thought the fidelity was underwhelming too until I figured out a setting you have to change to resolve it within the monitor and Xbox. Let's start with the monitor first, go to settings, then to picture adjust, then to black level, make sure "high" is selected. Then on to your Xbox... Go to settings, Then to TV and display options, then fidelity and overscan, change colour space from standard recommended to "PC RGB" and that's it your done. Basically what this does is tell the Xbox and monitor that you want to use the full colour range 0-255 "which is for monitors" as opposed to 0-235 which is for TVs. Do the above and your monitor will pop. Just leave a like so it will help others see. Love from Britain

maybe im stupid but don't ryzen cpu's overclock on their own? based on temps? I used to get 75-80 degrees cel under load with stock wraith prism cooler Upgraded to a huge ass thermalrite and now i get 50 under load maximum lol!

All current shoppers keep in mind there are many different versions of this monitor. The latest 2024 version is the G30D which is 180hz VA panel and supports standard Freesync spec. The previous version is 165hz VA and supports Freesync Premium. The actual differences in Freesync I do not know. But I have the latest G30D working with a GTX1080 with Gsync enabled in the driver.

I am glad there are people like you who show all the menu settings in sdr and hdr because in hdr this monitor prevents you from adjusting a lot . Great video keep it up

I bought an LG GP850b specifically to play on the XBOX Series X in 1440p and 120HZ, but it just doesn't work. Every time I set 120HZ and then want to go to 1440p, it says that my TV can't do that, and then it jumps back to 1080p. I've tried everything and I'm starting to despair. I'll never get an XBOX again, this console is hell on earth.

You need to restart the game if you switch to sdr otherwise everyrhi g gets blown out

I know this is old but that connector you mention going into cpu fan header (pump connector you called it) does not provide power on this unit the sata connection does only. The fan header connection reports the rpm only which means it can be plugged into any header you want (It's only 3 pin) The fans need to go in a header (A splitter is provided)

that haze is on every game because the xbox x is 1080p upscaling so has to cut detail, go into tv setting and reducing blue output will clear this up completely. definition is far better. but the trade of is a darker picture. can be brought back with contrast but its a trade off for sure. also....not really sticking to 120fps is it at 4k. is 4k really worth it over 1440p with the correct setting of blue?

Anyone looking to get this it's on sale for new $229 at Best Buy rn! Grab it up before it's gone. Edit: just looked again and the new box excellent is already back up to $209 so they must be selling alot of them! If you lower the color depth won't that make for a less desirable picture quality.
