Excellent review but one thing....the 27GP83 is the successor to the 27GL83 not the 850 series. They also have the 27GP850 available. The difference is the 850 series has a wider color gamut which tend to make colors look over saturated. Some people prefer that it seems. The 27GP83 along with the GL83 have more natural colors put of the box. So basically they offer a panel for whatever people prefer. Myself I'm a former 27GN850 owner and prefer the 27GP83 .

Another small window will appear and you will be able to find the refresh rate setting. By default mine was automatically set to 165hz. Also the monitor itself has a variable refresh rate setting that is enabled by default. Navigate the monitor menu settings to disable the option if you want a constant refresh rate. Hope this helps.
I still love it!!! I am using the color settings from rtings. The only game I need to have the overdrive on fast is doom eternal, otherwise normal gives the best visual results. It has stepped up my game for sure and the 10 bit color really seals the deal with how responsive this monitor is.

Shits beautiful and easy for video editing/photo editing. But damn all my video games just became much more fun and interesting
WRT Freesync and G-sync - It doesn't have "both technologies" - It just has Freesync. The "G-sync" label is just a spin by Nvidia to try and hijack the branding. -ie: under the "GSync compatible certification program" if a FREESYNC monitor does a good job with freesync, Then it's VRR implementation gets labled as "G-sync" -even though it does not have any Nvidia hardware or development assistance. There are displays out there with G-sync modules, but this isnt one.

We’ll considering PS5 has upscale fake 4k just take ur chances on 32”+ 4k monitor. No 1440 on PS5 if that was the case 27” would be perfect because of pixel density .
@@ramizraja3281 a late reply, but this monitor can accept a 4K signal, and will downscale it to 1440p. So it looks quite good, a lot better than upscaled 1080p.

It depends on what monitors you're comparing. Some IPS panels provide very vivid colours (generally the more expensive ones), and others, not so much. IPS panels are generally better for gaming than VA monitors. VA monitors will have more ghosting and blur issues in fast moving scenes, while IPS generally don't. Generally, these are the rules for monitors: - IPS: good colours, good contrast, good response time, very good viewing angles - TN: OK contrast, OK colours, bad viewing angles, very fast response times - VA: great contrast, OK colours, slow response times, decent viewing angles

I leave the ps5 setting to 1440p and when I play a game in 4k fidelity mode the resolution looks even crisper than 1440p.

i pretty much have the exact same monitor it came in with 165hz but I tried to adjust it in settings and the max refresh rate is 144hz.

Don’t think it will make a difference. All an HDMI 2.1 offers compared to a 2.0 is picture quality. The response time and refresh rate stays the same
