Just goes to show you that the covenant were thieves. The Halo Wars series is an underrated series and I wish there were more of this series.
Yeah like...Humanity was meant to have all those incredible Forerunner Warships. They could have used them as a Maginot Sphere to push the Covenant out of there space, stop the war. All that potential, gone.

Take away the "mmo" and I'd be down. I've always wanted a more open world rpg type halo game but my ideal one was Ancient Sanghelios when the Covenant first came
Love the concept of Shield Worlds! Nice balance to the destructive nature of the Halo rings themselves!! Lore wise, I absolutely love Requiem from the Greg Bear books! Great Content from you as always

A really big shame what happened to the shield world. All that megastructure construction for nothing along with all things that were on it.

Always wondered how that conversation would go with civilian leaders like planetary governors or the like.
"hey...if shit hits the fan, just push this button and it immediately hails the entire battle fleet to your location"
or were they honest with them?
"hey...this war is going terribly for us, if you're about to be overcome, blow everything to pieces or their going to be able to further wipe our species of the face of the galaxy"

I feel sorry for shield worlds.. it was clearly an attempt in the lore to build a forerunner structure more common than halo's but each with there own unique quirks. Unfortunately ever since Halo 4 its been associated with 343 lore as something that fans don't want to see again.
Especially since this perception is total BS - We first saw a Shield World in Halo Wars 1, under Bungie's world vision and Lore.

Unrelated but I got rickrolled by an add…
"Professor" Anders IMO is one of the worst characters in the franchise. Complete and blatant disregard for anything other than her ego. Acting like she can handle herself when she is about the mental equivalent of a five year old. She nearly wiped humanity off the map. She even thwarted Forge before he could kill the Arbiter.
I'm sick of the story direction. Why would they destroy the shield world?! So stupid. Humans ruin everything good. I do not see how humanity is meant to hold the mantle.
It is about perspective. As was stated, the covenant were gaining access to the forerunner ships. To prevent the covenant from gaining the tech and using the fleet against the UNSC, as well as eliminating the flood, the spirit of fire needed to do something to either shutdown or as what happened, destroy both the fleet and the shield world.
if you actually watched and used your brain you would understand 🙄
@@centurymemes1208 I do understand what happened. What I mean is the story they decided to tell. They created that story. I mean the story they decided to be canon. It was someone's idea for that to be the story.
It's the same reason why we destroyed the rings. Asset denial.
