    Help the environment and find more uses from one product. The sister company to The Ordinary, Chemistry Brand, has a tub of hyaluronic acid. It has a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid (sodium hyaluronate actually) so you can add just a little to other creams and it will still be effective.

    As a stylist of nearly a few years, I can share with you you, that you're not intended to apply harsh hair shampoo on your hair.
    I have observed hairlines of many people, and I observed that folks who were using strong shampoos generally had thin hair line.
    So I suggest only to use gentle shampoo cleanser only. I personally use and suggest to apply litttleextra cocconioon shampoo only.
    Also, do hot oil massage two times a week as it improves circulation and promotes hair.

    another way is to dissolve some unflavored gelatin (at Walmart) in hot water, 1 part to 10. gelatin is protein, like hair. Next let the mixture cool and then put into a spray bottle. spray on hair and allow to dry then style hair. gelatin will hold the hair naturally for many days. you may add fragrance to this hair spray.
    keep this in refrigerator when not using to preserve it. warm up by placing spray bottle in warm water if needed.

    I just bought a hyaluronic acid serum to use in conjunction with niacinamide serum that I have recently started using (to prevent skin cancer). I am also taking niacinamide orally. I have seen a big difference in the look and feel of my skin in the last month. Tonight I researched hyaluronic acid to make sure it doesn't have any negative effects on glaucoma, heart, cholesterol, skin cancer and hair loss (things I deal with). I was surprised to see articles regarding hyaluronic acid and pancreatic, breast, bladder, prostate, lung and colon cancer (feeds tumors) and hiding a diagnosis of liver disease. I am now afraid to use it topically, or take it orally!

    I have low porosity and very dense/thick straight hair, whenever I have tried to do scalp care the build up from oils, creams, and treatments with protein will just inflame my scalp. When I need moisture in my scalp that I cannot get from hair products, I use the ordinary hyaluronic acid right after I shower. I’m not worried at all about hair volume, in fact I have a bit too much of it, and hyaluronic acid is just light enough compared to other products to actually help bring moisture to my scalp!
    I know this video is for the actual hair itself, but if you are similar to me and struggling to find a way to bring moisture to your scalp, I’d say giving it a try is worth it.

    People with shorter haircuts on the whole do not tend to suffer from dry, damaged ends because the scalp produces oils that keep the cuticle in good condition. As the hair grows and becomes more distant from the scalp the hair does not benefit from those oils and dries out. This is why shampoo is primarily for cleaning the scalp, the rest of the hair is cleaned as it is rinsed out, conditioner is for the distant ends and the parts that get tangled.

    Dr. Shah, you NEED to use Got2B Powder’ful Volumizing hair powder in your hair. You just shake a tiny (and I really mean tiny) amount down on your roots (under the parts of your hair you want lifted) and using your fingers tips, muss up that area to the roots and then smooth the hair over it. It’s basically a teasing powder but it does the teasing for you. I have very fine hair and I use this stuff all the time or my hair would just go flat to my scalp. A small bottle lasts forever and is pretty cheap in the first place.

    • @geewiz8253
      @geewiz8253 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can also get a container (small container with lid or a new or unused salt shaker), put cornstarch (or arrowroot, although I never tried arrowroot, or rice powder), add a few drops of rosemary essential oil or any skin safe essential oil that you like, mix ingredients, shake it onto your roots, shake it and spread the power through your roots with your fingers, and there you go! Natural diy dry shampoo and root volumizer without all the artificial ingredients and harsh and unnecessary chemicals! 😉 Hope it works for you if you read this or anyone else reading this!

    Hey Drs Shah and Maxfield, this was fantastic content. Can you clarify how a hyaluronic acid product would fit into a routine including heat based hair styling(blow drying or straightening)?

    • @mdml0
      @mdml0 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I hope you don't mind me answering. My suggestion is you use HA as a sort of treatment or hair mask to restore moisture after excessive heat styling.

    • @DaniHMcV
      @DaniHMcV 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I would use it after heat. If you draw more water into your hair and then apply heat, I would think it could cause a lot of damage. Use something more silicone-ish to protect the hair while using heat. Then ince cooled, maybe spray hyaluronic acid to ends.

    • @freestylestuntkayak
      @freestylestuntkayak 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Coconut oil really gets absorbed into the hair, so if it's dry, put that on first. Then use argan oil, this is actually a heat conducting oil (coconut oil is not) so the heat will do less damage.

    • @geewiz8253
      @geewiz8253 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@DaniHMcV Wouldn’t the silicone (dimethicone, etc) based products shield the hair? I wonder if anything applied after, like the hyaluronic serum, even work if applied after. 🤷‍♀️ Anyone?

    • @geewiz8253
      @geewiz8253 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@freestylestuntkayak I found jojoba oil (which I use for face since this thinner oil is very similar to sebum - face oils), that’s great for oily and acne prone skin as well, worked amazing on my thin hair and dry ends on a daily basis. I use coconut oil on the middle to ends when my hair is a little dryer and needs extra care and recovery. Or I use it on a diy hair mask (sometimes I mix some of these or all of these to make my mask: coconut oil, olive oil, raw egg or mayo, banana if I have it and honey, maybe avocado if I have it). Just don’t use coconut oil in your face if you have combination to oily skin since coconut oil is comedogenic (can clog pores). Hope this helps some people out there! 😃 👋

    It definitely flattens the hair but my hairs overall look and feel is hair health goals. I’ve bleach treated my hair for years. I stopped about 8months ago. But still my ends are crisper than kernel sanders chicken. But omg after two washes, finishing my wet hair with this, my hair is soft the friz is gone and the shine is blinding. Maybe I’ll just apply to the treated areas instead of the entire scalp but this is definitely something we should all be doing for our hair.

      I have a very irritable scalp. Everything makes it itch.
      I have found that I can use Neutrogena T-Sal. I water it down in a dye bottle 1 part to 2 parts water and out that in my scalp and gently rub it in. I do this before I get in the shower. It gives it a chance to do its thing. I do a few other things and that same bottle I’m able to put my shampoo (1 part shampoo to 2 parts water) in and scrub my scalp and rinse them to into my conditioner. I don’t have issues with conditioner so I can put that in my scalp. I use the T-Sal once a week. Seems to be working for me. I only wash my hair every 3 days also.
      If I mess up I do keep Scalpacin on hand. Good luck
