    Moral of the story:
*Step 1: Ask to your derm wich kind of eyebags you have* so you can do the correct choice of products/procedures without waisting your money and experiencing frustration.
Step 2: Be realistic. Miss ACGT and Miss Gravity cannot be avoided, just attenuated.

I’ve had severe eye bags all my life, and nothing gets them 100% gone. What’s helped is caffeine cream in the morning, and retinol cream at night. What helps me is to not let ANY product touch the water line of my eyes. I stop about 4 millimeters before it reaches the waterline. My eyes used to water all day long before I started doing that, and once I stopped slapping product all over my eyes, the irritation, puffiness, and tears stopped.

Looking back at photos from my childhood, I have had large puffy circles under my eyes since I was around 4-5. I will never forget a guy in high school who asked me one day where I was traveling to. When I asked him why he thought I was traveling somewhere, he said, "Because your bags are packed." referring to my under-eye bags. I was absolutely mortified and obviously have never forgotten how awful I felt when he said that. My 50 year reunion is this summer, that's how long ago it was. I have tried everything and nothing has gotten rid of the dark circles under my eyes. I will no doubt try some suggested here as I am always hopeful. Thank you for this video.

They are horrible and can cause problems down the road. They can take 12+ years to dissolve. For many, myself included, the filler can reactivate years later causing uneven swelling and bags and it needs to be dissolved. Most doctors are no longer recommending them because of this. I wish I never did it and would never do it again and I had mine done with a well vetted PS in my area.

Thank you for mentioning the possible effects of retinoids on the meibomian glands! Dry eye syndrome is such a huge problem that significantly affects quality of life for a lot of people, especially in the populations that would be looking to treat eye bags, etc. As an optometrist who treats a lot of dry eye, I see every day how common meibomian gland dysfunction has become, and the effects are so hard to manage once you get to a certain point of gland atrophy/morphological changes.

      Warm compresses?

    • @BrokeStudentBeauty
      @BrokeStudentBeauty 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@SopurkhKaurWhile warm compresses can help in mild cases, meibomian gland dysfunction can range in severity and go well beyond the relief that at-home warm compresses can provide. Since the people with more severe meibomian gland dysfunction tend to suffer significantly from their symptoms, it's especially important to consider the possible adverse effects that retinoid use in the eye area can have on the meibomian glands. Once you get to the stage where there is significant atrophy or changes to the gland structure, it becomes much more difficult to treat.

It’s convenient because it’s one package and both separate formulas work on the specific needs for that time of day. It’s very hydrating and soothing and does brighten a little in the morning. It’s expensive but I have seen results but I know everyone is different. I hope I’m not wasting my money as the product doesn’t have actual retinol in it but ingredients that give the same type benefits I’m told. Thank you for this video!!

A healthy diet can do a lot as well as maintaining a healthy weight, plus adding 10-20g collagen supplements.
Reviews by skin experts have also recommended a gentle eye retinol, ceramides and NMF if your skin is Dehydrated too. HA can also plump tje undereye.

I have the Peter Thomas Roth product - took a chance on it when it was 50% off at Sephora. I only use it for special occasions or evenings out, as it's too drying and causes more problems than it solves if used daily. There is definitely a learning curve in how to apply it, and I have yet to master putting concealer on top.

Hey friend. Ive had hollow undereyes most of my life. Unfortunately it just gets worse with age and hollowing is a loss of fat. There is no product that can give structural fullness back to your anatomy. Keeping it hydrated and plumped with hyaluronic acids but realistically you'll need a fat transfer maybe with a lower eyelid blepharoplasty.
Look up Doc Karam on TH-cam and he explains the anatomy of the face and what really works.

If you are using a product that tightens and shrinks skin then you must understand you are stretching that same skin every time you apply it.
Stretching skin causes the skin to grow. That's why people who have lost lots of weight require skin reduction surgery. People who habitually wear heavy earrings develop long droopy earlobes, as well.
The skin actually grows as a response to being stretched.
It does not return to its original size.
The more you stretch the skin under your eyes the bigger your eye bags will eventually be.
