I’ve gone through 3 bottles and this worked for me more than anything else I tried. I mostly applied it to my crown. Used it every night while I slept since I shower in the morning…I wouldn’t want to wear it out and about. Now I’ve slowed down to using this about 3x a week for the last couple months and haven’t seen significant hair loss. Note: I am female and pretty sure my hair loss is partially due to stress and some genetic factors so I won’t ever have lush thick hair but I’m happy with how this helped. I have new hair growth all over my head.
@@SyntheticGoth I have 2a hair and it’s very fine so I don’t have a lot of volume in general. But the new hair growth has helped with that, I’m just trying to maintain it now. I’ve tried everything from natural to diy treatments for at least 15 years now and this was one of the more successful products I tried. Also the Red LED brushes- I got a cheap one and then a more expensive one and they helped. They just tend to break down unfortunately so I don’t know if I want to invest in another one at this point. I also take supplements or my hair loss would be even more out of control. But I isolated this product for several months so I know it was at least, if not more, successful to the other products I mentioned in my case.
@@faLLingFASterfeARing Wow, thanks for all the info! ❤️ I'm glad you found a routine that's finally worked for you. What supplements do you take, if you don't mind me asking? I've tried a few including biotin and collagen but never see any noticeable difference. 😕
I don’t wash my hair every day and I found that this is a problem with using serums for hair loss. Can I put this on at night and not wash my hair in the morning?
This serum really helped my baby hair grow longer. It think it’s more effective for problem areas like baby hairs, or the hairline as opposed to an all over treatment
I've used it 3-4 times a week, in conjunction with a 5 minute scalp massage every day, for about 4 months and my hair is definitely noticeable more dense (mom grabbed my braid and said "Oh my God, your hair has never been this thick!"), and the baby hairs that frame my face are thicker (actually larger hair strands, instead of fine baby wisps), longer, and more plentiful than they've ever been. I'm pleased enough with the results that I bought a 2nd bottle. It's not a quick fix, and you have to use it consistently for several months, but I am happy with it.
@@black-ij3ui I started regular Scalp massage + rosemary oil in November of 2022 (yes, I know) . Dr Dray talked me out of Rosemary oil in March of 2023, and I started the Ordinary hair serum in April. It wasn't until I started with the Ordinary stuff that I really started to notice charges.
how did u use that . how many times a week and for how long before taking shower?? i am also having seb dermatitis . if u tell me your experience it would be great for me
I used it every other night on clean hair and just rubbed it into the patches of seb derm I had. Mine were at my hairline and widow’s peak. It went away in about 2 weeks
I used it on hairline and got excellent results, regrowth of baby hairs was dramatic. My daughter in law uses it on her clients after micro-needling. She claims to get excellent results.
One quick tip for application serum like this to scalp without using too much to prevent greasiness is to rebottle the serum using the dropper to a ~5ml roll-on glass bottle (preferably amber colored to prevent some ingredients go bad due to photosensitivity) and use that as an applicator.
I just bought some tnx for the suggestion, I feel like I'm wasting too much not actually going to my scalp but on my hair when I'm just using my fingers
My pleasure. I usually only fill it 1/4 and refill since means the ball touch your scalp and transfer some of the foreign stuff to the liquid inside. 1/4 could be used for few days. And wash everything every time i finished it around twice or thrice.
I started having amla juice by mixing it with juice from aloe vera twice a day. Regularly trimming the hair also helps. Take care of your lifestyle. Use liitleextraa cocoonnoin organic hair oil shampoo as both are good for hair fall control. If you will do this every day, you will see results in a few weeks time.
I started using this Littlllextra Cocoonion shampoo and hair conditioner for the past four months and seen a notable improvement in the condition of my hair. There’s been a reduction in hair fall and there’s noticeably less hair on my pillows now.
I have tried this product on my post menopausal thinning hair. I used it for over 3 months, and saw zero change. Like you, I didn't like the way it made my hair feel. It didn't look clean, and it was a bit greasy. Thank you for your opinion. 😊
I'm using this product at the moment (I have been for about 4-5 months). I started using it when I noticed my hairline was receeding slightly and I wanted to see if this product would help in stopping this. I apply 4 drops to my scalp and massage a few drops into my hairline before going to bed (to avoid the greasy look, which is one of the only downsides) and repeat this 2-3 times a week. I've not only seen a dramatic improvement in my hairline, but also in the reduction of how much of my hair falls out in the shower (it used to be at least a handful each time I washed my hair, this is now only a few strands). This product shocked me in how quickly it began working, my baby hairs in my hairline started popping out of nowhere after about two uses! I've had multiple compliments on how healthy my hair looks and definitely noticed that my hair feels thicker for the first time in years. I should caveat all this by stating I also started taking Wellwoman vitamins around the same time as starting with this product. But the combination of the two has done absolute wonders for my hair, it looks the healthiest it's ever been!
I have been suffering from some hair loss and have tried a few different things including this. I used it for about 3 months and I actually noticed that it did perpetuate some new hair growth in my problem areas where the hairs continued to grow even after I stopped using it. At the time, I attributed the new growth to scalp oiling, but lately I’ve been thinking that it was actually this product so I’m considering going back to it. I didn’t find it to be greasy as some people have said, but I have very curly hair so my hair can often use some added moisture. I also found that like Dr. Dray said, it lasts a while which is nice. It didn’t have a smell, didn’t make my scalp tingle or burn, and didn’t cause me any irritation (and I tend to have sensitive skin). So, I agree that for the price point it’s worth a try and The Ordinary products are pretty decent. Hope this helps!
i noticed less hair fall after a continuous three month period of using littleexrtra reactiavate hair serum. I apply it every night and rinse it off with plain water in the morning. I also use cocooonion oil and shampoo once a week and apply an avocado mask every 15 days. Following this routine has really helped, and I'm seeing new hair growth in several areas of my head
I alternate this with rosemary oil each night. You don’t need much at all- I feel like those who feel greasy are using too much. As someone with fine, post menopausal hair, this works for me.
I’m interested to hear what rosemary oil does please as I’m going thru menopause and after hot flushes notice my hair sheds. How Does rosemary oil help? Thank you
@@belindafield3854they say that rosemary helps with hair loss and maybe helps thicken hair. I use it as I'm in climacteric phase and I saw some results... I have extremely fine short hair, without volume! I don't have hair loss but serious hair thinning! It helped and of course it's something not chemical so no harm unless you have some allergies.
Hey doc completely out of topic but your makeup is on point today! Thank you so much for educating us with all your videos and staying so consistent 🫶 we appreciate you!
@@DrDrayzdayThank you for continuing to provide objective (facts and statistics) and subjective (personal experience) reviews!!!! Greetings from Montréal ❤!
@@DrDrayzday can I use minoxidil and ordinary serum together or may be with some gap? I am already using minoxidil and want o use ordinary serum as well.
I’m a 26 year old woman and have been using this for 2 years now. I swear by this product! I don’t have any hair loss disorders, but have always had very thin, fine hair, especially around my hairline. I originally began using this only on my hairline. I didn’t like leaving it in since it did make my hair greasy, so I put it in a few hours before I showered. I have noticed a huge increase in my hair thickness and density. My baby hairs have grown like crazy to even my hairline, I now look like I have full bangs as it’s growing out. I now put it all through my hair before showering and my hair looks so think and full. It even feels heavy when I wash it. It doesn’t make my hair grow faster, but definitely fuller and a little bit darker too (I’m blonde). I use it about once a week. Definitely my holy grail which I recommend to everyone now 💛
@@brieannabernier399 I’d assume it would work! Maybe just patch test on your face first to make sure it doesn’t cause irritation, then apply a tiny drop to both eyebrows to make it easier to control. Be careful to not get it in your eyes tho. Good luck 💛
So, you've never left it in overnight? I'm interested in this product to make hairline a little fuller but am not super into the idea of having to leave it in EVERY night. Would love to know exactly how you used this/what worked. Thanks!
The Ordinary Hair Density Serum has greatly helped me as a 39 yo male. I feel it helps health of the scalp and the density. But of course it's just based on my own scrutiny and observation. I also use Rosemary/coconut oil which is also hugely helpful (I started this a year after starting with The Ordinary product). Placing my omnilux red light mask on my head for 10 mins a day also seems to help.
It's good to hear that it's moisturizing and basically can't hurt to try AND lasts a really long time. I'll probably give it a shot since I have a hairline issue that may be progressing slowly. Heard a ton about the rosemary stuff but the amount of time was just not for me.
Same. I was low in iron, vit d, and zinc. My zinc is up in normal range again and still working on vit d and iron. My hair started shedding 1.5 years ago. I lost basically 90% of my hair. Still waiting for it to stop shedding and start growing.
I lost lots of hair due to stress. Started using the ordinary serum a year ago and it worked amazingly ! I get so many compliments about my hair now. And i go through one bottle a month so it doesn’t last a year if you use it every day . I guess it depends on your body , but it worked wonders for me so if someone is considering trying it out, do it for at least 6 months and see how it goes for you.❤
haha i also go through one bottle a month! i have had scalp issues my whole life but this serum solved all of them. my hair shedding also improved, as well as density in sparse areas! its the best
I’ve been using this for at least a year and it works for me. I started using it where I had tension loss from wearing pony tails and then when I saw it was working I started using it throughout my hair. I definitely have more baby hairs along my hair line and the tension loss has filled in. I plan to try it on my eyebrows too.
@@rnguyen2516 Yes I have. I had good luck with the telephone cord type holders but now I use the ones that look like someone cut up their panty hose. They are really gentle, no metal on them, and the color matches my hair, oh and they hold well!
I'm objectively not pretty, I've got wrinkles/sunspots/scars, my hair refuses to behave & goes in all directions, but I have great hair density and I'm just enjoying knowing that there is one product category out there that I definitely do not need lol! Thanks for the day brightener 🌞🌞🌞
I have Hashimoto thyroid disease and have noticed significantly less shedding overall and robust regrowth in the two areas where I shed all my hair, literal bald spots. I have been using this product since it was released, I believe, 2 years-ish ago. In that time I have purchased 3 bottles. I only wash every 4 days so I use this on average-ish twice a week...Thank you for this in depth review of the ingredients, chemistry is fascinating!
Hi. Thank you for sharing. 2 questions. So 3 bottles over 2 years - you made 1 bottle last 8 months ?😮 also just using 2 days a week was enough ? My life is hectic & I can't use it everyday. But glad to see results are possible even with minimal use.
i use this product a night before i wash my hair like 2 times a week on my hairline. it definitely made a difference more babyhairs and no way i'd use this on clean hair. don't care what they write in instruction. i quite like it and next morning i wash all the greasiness. first bottle was colour of milk. second bottle is colourless
I want to add as someone with really thin straight hair it was so easy to notice results very quickly!! Maybe its harder to notice a difference if you’re hair isnt quite thin. Also it helped with my scalp not being too dry or oily which i love🩷
I had a huge hair loss and thinning due to age, I reached my 30s. With this product my hair stopped falling as much and it was so revealing!! I didn’t knew how abnormal my hair loss was until it stopped falling with this… one of my favorite products of The Ordinary
@@lucierancourt2079 hi! for sure, what I did was getting the dropper filled, and I used all that to spread it in my scalp, following with a massage, it took like a minute. My hair tends to be greasy so yes, I wash my hair everyday, but it may be different for you. I did this for a few weeks every night until the bottle was empty, Then I bought a second bottle, but this time I used it One time every week and that is how I have done it since. My hair feels strong and keeps the normal falling, not the insane falling.
@@lucierancourt2079For me it’s not greasy at all. It’s a water based product- oil and fragrance free. Its strongly recommended by The Ordinary that “you use it one time a day, ideally before bed, and only a few drops on a dry scalp.” and it says to NOT wash your hair or scalp after application treatment.
I used iRestore for 6 months to see impact by itself then I added the Ordinary peptide and I started getting crazy hair growth. 18 months later, my ponytail is twice the size it used to be. I don’t even use the peptide daily. Maybe a few times per week. I still use iRestore but the major boost in growth was after starting the peptide. The bottle lasts me about 9 months or more.
Hi. Have you tried the opposite ? Just the serum without iRestore ? I don't have the device & not planning to buy it anytime soon. But wondering if the effect is the combination of the 2 or just the serum. Thanks !
Can we also as a society simply be ok with hair loss? I have androgenetic alopecia for decades now; I’ve tried almost everything out there, I wear a topper but on most days I just want to leave the house without a care in the world. Is that too much to ask? Please let’s normalize and accept hair loss in men and women. The pressure is just too much - mentally, physically and financially exhausting 😢
You are beautiful just the way you are!🌺💝 God doesn’t make mistakes & made us all different for a reason. So be proud of who you are!✨🫵✨ (Side note: I watch Big Brother & one of my favorite contestants, Felicia, has alopecia. She is black, bald, beautiful & doesn’t let anything hold her back! She’s a hoot!😅🥰)
100%. It's like my grey hair. I stopped coloring in my 40s and hardly got any supportive response and I also thought about losing/thinning hair..I just want shave it all off..as a woman, I am not there yet, but I am mentally preparing.
I wish this product was a foam so it was easier to apply. I struggle to get even coverage with it without using way too much and essentially wasting product. I do find its best applied to dry hair rather than wet hair, applying to wet hair seems to cause the "greasy look". I used this to help treat stress induced hair loss to speed up my recovery in a budget friendly way along with taking viviscal and did get good results.
This worked amazingly for me, I have been using minoxidil for years and my dermatologist told me to use minoxidil once a week to maintain results. I introduced this and i saw visible difference.
May I ask.. did you only start using minoxidil once a week because your hair got better, or? Cause I’m using it everyday and I don’t know what will happen if I stop 😢
I have to take a moment to say - Your hair looks just gorgeous - and your makeup is perfect - so soft and pretty. Thank you for all you do and share, Dr. Dray!
Speaking from experience, it did boosted my hair growth and hair health(?) Dont know how to explain it but my hair looks very good, fuller, easier to comb through with less tangled ends and slightly visibly longer than normal rate. when i was using it. Note i dont have any hair conditions etc so im 100% using it for aesthetic(? is that the right word) purposes. Not because i had issues.
@@db-gb5xi yeah i think at best its the good health of the scalp that actually helped my hair boost rather that itself causing, kinda like indirect really I dont think its placebo as well since i do actually have an active hair care routine including the use of silicone hair brush and oils and adding this had an improvement
Actually for oily scalp you should try using it when your hair and scalp are completely,i mean completely dry...i used it on wet scalp or wet hair dry scalp nd it trapped the moisture but when i used it after my hair and scalp was completely dry it wasn't greesy at all and it made my hair look thick and made significant improvement in hair growth. Mind you my scalp is very very oily but it still didn't make it oilier. Also the directions on the product also suggest you should apply it on completely dry hair. Try that once
Dr. Dray, could you please do a makeup tutorial for us? You look amazing without makeup, of course, but you look beaming in this video. Every single video, I learn something, even if I don't think the particular topic applies to me. You have saved me so much money. I could go on and on about how great you are!!❤ Sending you so much love!
I am a 39 year old male suffering from androgenetic alopecia. I used it for more than 1 year along with anti DHT natural supplements (saw palmetto etc...) and Minoxidil 5% so it's hard for me to say if only this alone would have worked. But I sense that it actually had a positive impact on the volume of the hair. I also used it on my beard and eye brows.
Have been using it for about 8 weeks for hair loss due to stress and alopecia areata spots. It’s doing some serious magic - my hair loss stopped and I have A TON of baby hairs all over to the point I have to hair spray them down to look presentable. I use it daily and use quite a lot of it though - go through about a bottle a week. My method is to section the hair and apply the serum to the scalp with a dropper and not touch it after ( I don’t try to rub it in or anything). The hair doesn’t look greasy the next next.
I’ve been using this on my eyebrows for the past 2 months. And wow, they’re so much more full now. Just started using on my scalp. We’ll see. I have high hopes and little doubt about the results
Dr. Dray, have you looked at Revivserum’s Reviv Hair Max? It’s similar but supposedly stronger. I don’t think the Revivserum contains caffeine though, which is the only ingredient you think may work in the Ordinary’s serum.
@@rubyalanaharris I would just buy their lash serum. The ingredients, even the preservatives in both are different for a reason. Using a preservative around your eyes that isn't meant for that purpose can cause inflammation, which will turn chronic if you use the product for months, as directed. Not worth it. Your brows would probably be fine though.
I’ve been using this product 4 months now (September 2023) it cured my hair loss and dandruff. I use it 4 days a week. I had hair loss on and off since 2019 and had tried lots of supplements but nothing worked. I apply it on my eyelashes as well.
I used to suffer from hair loss, Irestore pro works but there’s just so much it can do until I use this serum. On my 7th bottle now 😊. The way I use it is to first brush my scalp until warm feeling, then apply the serum with an applicator, coz if I just use the dropper it runs and drips all over my face. I use it every night on dry hair, by the next morning it’s already absorbed and I see non greasy issue. Highly recommend
Bought this serum about 4-5 months ago, but only used it a few times. It seems to make my hair greasy sticky particularly at the root area. Many thanks to you Dr Dray for another valuable in-depth information of a product.
I have been using it for 4 months and have seen definite improvements in hair thickness and growth of hair in thin spots. I have dry hair and the serum is absorbed rapidly for me, no greasiness. I will continue to use.
agreed on the greasiness. I have chosen to use the night before I wash my hair. I have had great results with the Lash Serum so I started this with a thickening shampoo and I feel that the crown of my hair is better for it.
All I know is that, when I was using it on the left side of my crown, my hairdresser once commented that my left side had more density. (I used it on one side as a test, like I do with my face serums, and my hairdresser didn't know about my use of this product.) I stopped using it because I was spending too much on this, as a bottle didn't last long, even on just one side. I also didn't truly believe my hairdresser. Well, recently, several family members noticed that I was balding on that same area. So, I'm back on it!
@@trishasurangana2278 No, the product didn't cause the hair to fall. When using it, it helped my hair. When I stopped using, my hair did its normal thing, which was to fall.
I am using this serum for past dew months and surprisingly this monsoon my hair is behaving much better 🙂 .I'm applying few drops every night and I shampoo every day with pea size mild shampoo.
Out of Topic, but: I'm from Brazil, and about Nívea cream: I just learned that in USA you can have a different version of it, without Eucerit. How strange. In Brazil, we buy it and many grandmas and mothers and millenials use for years and almost without wrinkles, because of Eucerit. We also use/alternates with a whole skincare routine. Nívea creme at night, and sometimes during the day for reaally dry skin. For me, it's the only who calms my face when it's sensible from Tretinoin. I think the majority of us use Nívea cream, face, hands, feet (we use a lot of "rasteirinha", open sandals because of the heat, so our feet gets dry). Even oily skins use it at night (my case and the marjority in Brazil). It would be great if you talk more about Nívea cream and those two versions and about Eucerit.
I have androgenic alopecia and I have been using it and it has help esp at my edges. It doesn’t make my hair oily at all and I have naturally oily hair. And for context I believe I have 3b3c hair.
I have religiously taken 9000 mg of hydrolysed collagen for over a year. I noticed an improvement in the shedding early on. I would say the improvement took the best part of a year to see significant improvement. I don’t have androgenic alopecia but thyroid related
@@arsinehboghossian8950 Holland & Barrett is the brand. It is a Bovine source (pains me for being animal derived however) as long as it is a high strength product with Vitamin C I am sure it will be very similar. The tablets are 3000 mg and they recommend taking 3 daily.
I started using this about six weeks ago. I’d used a serum from Ducray before that, but it was discontinued and replaced with a more expensive one. So I decided to try this out. I feel like I’ve gotten more results from this compared to the Ducray (more baby hairs, more thickening) but do notice my hair is greasier quicker. I might start putting less on the way you suggested.
@@ankuranas1822 She did mention that she got better results with this serum compared with the previous. So, yes, she did notice a difference in her hair growth. And yes, I can also tell you that I did notice a difference in my hair after consistently using this serum. You just need, - NEED - to be consistent. Nothing is build or repaired over night.
I've been using it for over a year now and I definitely see results especially in my crown areas. Since I have hormonal hairloss issues I was a bit hesitant at first, but yea it definitely works but its a little slow acting in my opinion and definitely is a bit greasy.
I was using 2% minoxidil for hair loss and I started getting headaches and dizzy and found they were side effects of people who were over 65 and since I’m 81 so I stopped. Sue me because I’d still like to look good 😂.
I've been using this product for over a year. It didn't do much for my hair density but it did get rid of my dry scalp/dandruff issues. I continue using it since it's the only product that has gotten rid of my dry scalp.
I've been using this for over 2 weeks now. I don't know if it's making my hair dense or not, but at least I i can see a noticable amount of less hair fall. I am absolutely amazed.
Could you also do a video on rosacea, what are good products, how your skincare routine should be with rosacea, products that help that are over the counter, products to avoid. Just an informative video would be great!
I found it did help my hairline look fuller. However, it would make my hair look greasy, so I am not consistent with it. My mom has gone through 3 bottles, and she loves it. It’s different for everyone.
Hi Dr. Dray! Can you do another A.M./P.M. product demonstration. There have been so many new products, I could use a refresher course in how and when to use them.
I (36 F) have been using this hair serum consistently for about 8 months after I had the worst hair loss of my life due to stress 😞 I only use it every other day as my hair is extremely fine and thin and I don’t want to apply twice before I wash it again (I wash every other day). My hair is absolutely growing back and the first 4 inches on my hair feels significantly thicker than the rest of my hair. It’s hard to say if the serum alone contributed to the regrowth or stopped the shedding but I plan to continue to use it until the new regrowth has gotten longer. I also use the serum along with a scalp massager to gently massage my scalp when I apply it. Again, not sure if it’s the product but since it is relatively inexpensive I don’t mind continuing with it just in case 😊
I tried this product last winter for a couple of weeks, but weirdly... it pushed more of my hairs into the telogen phase (a lot more fell out, especially from sides/temples/hairline all over) 😬 ! Alarming. But after returning/discontinuing the product, it started growing back. Yeah, I did NOT expect that! Atter watching this, the only ingredient in it I can't suspect of playing a part is the caffeine. Thank you for these videos, Dr. Dray!
Thank you so much for yet another honest, informative video. You are a true friend to your subscribers in addition to being an excellent physician. You deserve every success.
I’ve been using The Ordinary’s caffeine + EGCG on my scalp for AA for a year. What I notice the most is that areas of my scalp that were hair-free now have noticeable hair growing there. It took about 3 months, but hair is definitely growing up there. With this newer thickener serum, I kinda feel that the caffeine may not be at the same 5% strength as the caffeine + EGCG serum. I have not noticed any greasiness using either product.
I’m 17 and my hairline receded ( a lot ) , so I went to my trichologist and she suggested me this serum with capixyl, and few vitamin deficiency supplements and in a month , my hair loss has been reduced a lot , idk about hair growth tho , I think it would take time ,but yeah ,I would definitely say use serums with capixyl for hair fall
I took your suggestion to get the iRestore red light hair device and that has made a difference for me. I've tried other caffeine scalp products, but even though your research seemed to indicate no adverse effects from it, I found it was sufficient stimulant entering my system many hours after use that I couldn't sleep well. I think I'll just stick to my iRestore.
I have several autoimmune conditions. So when my hair started falling out again, after it had come back for the past year, I thought it was just a side effect I had to live with. Then I remembered I hadn't taken any collagen and zinc after my last bottle was finished 4 months ago. Two DAYS of taking it and my hair loss has stopped. Im glad it stopped but could have saved like 25% of my hair. 😏
on the company's website, several reviewers said the product worked; many other customers said it made their hair fall out......confused about its efficacy.
Thank you for the video. By the way Amazon basics now has skincare! (Mostly Cerave, Cetaphil and Neutrogena dupes) but they’re affordable and I’m curious about your thoughts 🥰
I love the medical breakdown. I'm always looking for it when I'm trying to regrow my hair because I had a stressful situation that made me lose most of my bodily functions--including my cycle. I want everybody to know that PTSD can do a lot of damage to your entire body. Nothing started to go back to normal until just recently. I went gray overnight. I have psoriasis in general, but I know that my issues are directly linked to this incident and I just want my hair back. I am 51, but there is literally no history of hair loss or hair thinning in my family. With that said, as the daughter of a chemist, I am always looking for assessments like this for anything I use.
I tried everything nothing works. But I tired Copper Serum for two months and my hair came back like crazy! I would be interested in a video doing a deep dive in Copper serum
I have fine hair started growing from my forehairline. So it's something I will be continuing to use. The greasy feel will go away the next morning and if you still mind about that shower and wash your hair before going out in the morning.
Appreciate the review on this. I've been wondering if it might help my fine, thinning hair. Seems some people in the comment section have had good results so it might be worth a try. The worse that might happen is greasy hair. I'm sure this, like many products, work for some and not others. Thanks for trying out so many products so that we can make educated decisions when choosing skin and hair care, therefore saving us money. Happy Tuesday, Dr Dray! Hope you have a tranquil evening. 💜
I was intrigued by the positive feedback on Reactivate Hair Serum and Cocooonion Shampoo, so I gave them a shot. Three months in, I can confidently say they've made a noticeable difference. I'm impressed with how effective they've been.
I've been using this product for about 6 months, applying it approximately 4 to 5 days a week. My hair stylist and I agree that we do not see new growth in the area in which I'm experienced slight thinning. However, we agree that my hair feels and looks thicker ... so the density claim is on-point. This is a product in which a "little goes a long way. " Use sparingly and massage well.
i finished the bottle and i don’t think i noticed a difference in stopping/reducing my hair loss or in new hair growth but i’m using their eyelash peptide serum for my brows and eyelashes and that definitely works. lol you win some you lose some 🤷🏻♀️
Well, it didn't make my hair thicker, this might be because of the salicylic acid, but my scalp definitely feels less itchy, and it also helped to control excess oil. I've repurchased it now a few times!
The active ingredient is probably caffeine, which has proven to be a DHT blocker in the follicles. I buy a liquid caffeine tonic produced in Germany. Together with a few drops of Minoxidil on the hairline. My hair loss has decreased a great deal. Although I must mention that I also started on whey protein supplement and that might have helped.
I have locs. My hair tend to look dry. I just used it once and I love how it made my hair look and feel. I look forward to using it. Note I have a blend of oils including essential oils that makes my hair looks great, but this oil makes it look even naturally more beautiful.
For some reason, this product helps with my scalp irritation, especially that feeling you get at your roots when you need to wash your hair. But I didn't notice any change in my hair density, it does give the feeling of thicker hair somehow. The fact that it might soothe some of my scalp irritation might help me regain density?? But I'm not too sure. I have dandruff and folliculitis.
What is your hair type? Does it help with volume on the scalp? I also have excess shedding due to stress and genetics and I'd love to give this a try.
@@faLLingFASterfeARing Hello, is there a probability that scalp massage may be a huge part of the results ?
Did you do the 5 minute scalp massages prior to that or did u start doing them at the same time as the serum?
@@black-ij3ui I started regular Scalp massage + rosemary oil in November of 2022 (yes, I know) . Dr Dray talked me out of Rosemary oil in March of 2023, and I started the Ordinary hair serum in April. It wasn't until I started with the Ordinary stuff that I really started to notice charges.

I got this to thicken my hair but it actually cured my seb derm too, crazy!! Nothing has EVER worked for my seb derm, no shampoos nothing. So great!
how did u use that . how many times a week and for how long before taking shower??
i am also having seb dermatitis . if u tell me your experience it would be great for me
Great to hear 🫶 May I ask how much product you use per "treatment"?
Please tell us how did you use it? I have seb derm for 11 years now and nothing has worked
I used it every other night on clean hair and just rubbed it into the patches of seb derm I had. Mine were at my hairline and widow’s peak. It went away in about 2 weeks
I think it is because of zink + coffeine?
I used it on hairline and got excellent results, regrowth of baby hairs was dramatic. My daughter in law uses it on her clients after micro-needling. She claims to get excellent results.
Thank you for that!
One quick tip for application serum like this to scalp without using too much to prevent greasiness is to rebottle the serum using the dropper to a ~5ml roll-on glass bottle (preferably amber colored to prevent some ingredients go bad due to photosensitivity) and use that as an applicator.
Thanku so much ❤
Great idea!
I just bought some tnx for the suggestion, I feel like I'm wasting too much not actually going to my scalp but on my hair when I'm just using my fingers
Thank you! That's a really good idea. This is hard to apply with the dropper because it's so runny.

Oh, and my hair loss is most likely due to genetic factors and not temporary telogen effluvium.
i noticed less hair fall after a continuous three month period of using littleexrtra reactiavate hair serum. I apply it every night and rinse it off with plain water in the morning. I also use cocooonion oil and shampoo once a week and apply an avocado mask every 15 days. Following this routine has really helped, and I'm seeing new hair growth in several areas of my head
Having 6 glass of water every day and applying reactivaate serum for hair growth daily has given fresh life to my hair

Kudos for actually testing the product for that long - that's true dedication 👍
I alternate this with rosemary oil each night. You don’t need much at all- I feel like those who feel greasy are using too much. As someone with fine, post menopausal hair, this works for me.
I’m interested to hear what rosemary oil does please as I’m going thru menopause and after hot flushes notice my hair sheds. How Does rosemary oil help? Thank you

Definitely my holy grail which I recommend to everyone now 💛
I wanna use it for my brows, u think it’ll work the same. My brow serum stopped working after months of using it
@@brieannabernier399 I’d assume it would work!
Heard a ton about the rosemary stuff but the amount of time was just not for me.
it definitely lasts. I bought it back in February and it is not just finishing up.
I was loosing hair, thinning thought it was due to age. Here I was deficient in both vitamin d & the b’s. Supplements huge improvement for me.

Note i dont have any hair conditions etc so im 100% using it for aesthetic(? is that the right word) purposes. Not because i had issues.
At least one other dermatologist who reviewed this said it was probably best for scalp health but he doubted it did anything regarding hair loss.
@@db-gb5xi yeah i think at best its the good health of the scalp that actually helped my hair boost rather that itself causing, kinda like indirect really
I dont think its placebo as well since i do actually have an active hair care routine including the use of silicone hair brush and oils and adding this had an improvement

I used it for more than 1 year along with anti DHT natural supplements (saw palmetto etc...) and Minoxidil 5% so it's hard for me to say if only this alone would have worked. Hi plz can i ask u if it looks like water cause i just bought it and its odorless and colorless, is that normal?
Have been using it for about 8 weeks for hair loss due to stress and alopecia areata spots. It’s doing some serious magic - my hair loss stopped and I have A TON of baby hairs all over to the point I have to hair spray them down to look presentable. I use it daily and use quite a lot of it though - go through about a bottle a week. My method is to section the hair and apply the serum to the scalp with a dropper and not touch it after ( I don’t try to rub it in or anything). The hair doesn’t look greasy the next next.

agreed on the greasiness. I have chosen to use the night before I wash my hair. I have had great results with the Lash Serum so I started this with a thickening shampoo and I feel that the crown of my hair is better for it.
It feels greasy/ dirty for me when I apply it, but by the time I wake up it’s gone 🤷🏻♀️
All I know is that, when I was using it on the left side of my crown, my hairdresser once commented that my left side had more density. (I used it on one side as a test, like I do with my face serums, and my hairdresser didn't know about my use of this product.)
I stopped using it because I was spending too much on this, as a bottle didn't last long, even on just one side. I also didn't truly believe my hairdresser.
Well, recently, several family members noticed that I was balding on that same area. So, I'm back on it!

Dray!
I experienced the same thing / hair loss from it. My scalp became very dry and itchy which was so odd.
Thank you so much for yet another honest, informative video. You are a true friend to your subscribers in addition to being an excellent physician. You deserve every success.
Thank you sooooo much for giving us the rundown on these ingredients!!!
Thank you, Dr, and all the amazing people who are sharing their experiences! You`re giving me hope! will start using myself asap
Thanks for sharing this smart idea. I will have a try.
Thank you for sharing this! I don’t like greasy stuff on my head, so that sound great. Nice to hear that you’re having good results.
Do you think spraying green tea on your scalp would work just as well?
This serum has 1 % caffein.
Are you talking about the product Ordinary has originally made for underye depuffing?
Thank you for reviewing this product. I didn’t even know it existed. I just used your link to buy it from Ulta. I am excited to try it! 😊
You are the BEST Dr D! Keep ‘em coming! You’re a gift to all of us!
I am on caffeine serum and melatonin serum manufactured by a dermat from India for 6 months and could see good results for my AGA hair loss condition.
Taking Biotin (vitamin) works for me. It’s an affordable option and has made a big difference to my hair.
Biotin - even in a large dose - did absolutely nothing for my hair, not one thing. I am 62 years old, and I have tried Biotin for years.
Woo-hoo! 1.98 million subscribers! Almost to 2 million! You go! ❤
THANK YOU Dr.Dray for telling us the truth. I've learned so much from this channel!💜
on the company's website, several reviewers said the product worked; many other customers said it made their hair fall out......confused about its efficacy.
Thank you for the video. By the way Amazon basics now has skincare! (Mostly Cerave, Cetaphil and Neutrogena dupes) but they’re affordable and I’m curious about your thoughts 🥰
#1 not expensive. #2 no reported side effects. #3 some studies showing results. Looks like a product to try.
Even though my hair is more towards the thickish direction but it was much more before. Dr Dray has got me interested in this
Appreciate the review on this. 💜
Hey, have you tried it for hair thinning?
I haven’t tried it yet.
Dr Dray ..
Can you please investigate Amla oil ..
Also bar shampoo with rice water
Id appreciate it...
A fan
I was intrigued by the positive feedback on Reactivate Hair Serum and Cocooonion Shampoo, so I gave them a shot. Three months in, I can confidently say they've made a noticeable difference. I'm impressed with how effective they've been.

using this reactivate serum from 3 months now and I can say it is working as I am seeing new hairs growing near my temples
Lol..
" Use sparingly and massage well.
i finished the bottle and i don’t think i noticed a difference in stopping/reducing my hair loss or in new hair growth but i’m using their eyelash peptide serum for my brows and eyelashes and that definitely works. lol you win some you lose some 🤷🏻♀️
I was HONESTLY waiting for this video, literally
Well, it didn't make my hair thicker, this might be because of the salicylic acid, but my scalp definitely feels less itchy, and it also helped to control excess oil. I've repurchased it now a few times!
Thank you for going over the ingredients. I really appreciate it since now we know how important those ingredients are and their side effects 😊
Which caffeine liquid?
@@dr.m6152I think she is referring to Alpecin
This serum has lots of actives like Redensyl Procapil baicapil Anagain capixyl
Thank you for being our noble "Crash test dummy" on these products!
This serum broke me out! Whenever I use it, I get pimples on my forehead
I have locs. My hair tend to look dry. I just used it once and I love how it made my hair look and feel. I look forward to using it. Note I have a blend of oils including essential oils that makes my hair looks great, but this oil makes it look even naturally more beautiful.
I used it and it worked really very well for me.
Happy Tuesday Dr Dray so excited to be here I live for this ❤️

I have been using for 6 months and it has worked for me. I have been using at night with a scalp massager. I do not use on wet hair.
Hi Dr. Dray🌷and everyone here😊 Enjoy your day. Happy Tuesday✨✨
Happy Tuesday Dr Dray please do a video on how you do your makeup❤
