Most of the average working class people wouldn’t even be able to afford a Tesla anyway. Not many people have over 40K to spend on a car. And every car or truck depreciate’s so fast!

That's what they do for a living
The people running this one are a for-profit company who takes a cut from each donation. No way to see how much money they are making or the salaries they pay themselves
@@cceatl yeah, and how many people do you think would contrib if they knew knew the guy running it was taking $500,000 to $1M a year in salary? You have to do very little to qualify as a charity.
Charities are lucky if they get 10% of the money collected. But then again how much would they get if these people didn't run a charity. 🤔🤔🙄🙄
The charities are in a catch 22 situation. Either they stay small and struggle or they hire pros and basically turn into a scam operation.

I will say with the door at 7:12, you mentioned having to grab the door frame to open the door, in fact after you press the handle to unlatch the door, you’re meant to grab the piece that pops out and continue to pull at the handle to open the door :)

I think Scotty nailed his review of this Tesla. Their build quality could be a lot better. But overall, they’re fun to drive and they’re full of tech.
The problem is only in Fremont factory, the others are fine.

Two things that may help with the MS: First is getting rid of milk from your diet; I've heard of this helping some people with MS. Second is alpha lipoic acid (ALA), which has anecdotal evidence of helping fight nerve pain from shingles.

Scotty there is a manual handle on Teslas as a failsafe. It's on the handle just behind the button. You pull up on it and the door opens like a normal door

Fun, quick review. Couple notes - the regen is strong but can be adjusted, but the better way to work with it is feather off the accelerator to come to completely stop slowly, one pedal driving is great. The door handles - you push in the big part with your thumb and pull out the handle that presents itself, not pull the edge of the door.

Tesla doesn’t send a car to ANY auto journalist. You have to get one yourself to review it. That is why you know you are not getting a ringer.
I’m about to be 40 years old and I woke up yesterday and thought I tired of driving my 2016 car. So I got my 1969 AMC rambler 4 door 232 440 out of the garage. I drove it work, Lowe’s and home. I put about 90 miles on her and took half a tank of gas. But I didn’t miss all the tech for one minute.

Scotty, I think you and Louis Rossman might get along.
He is currently lobbying for right to repair, due to companies like Apple, John Deere and others trying to make their products impossible to affordably repair. I suspect he wouldn't mind promoting a good cause like a MS Charity either.
The idea of having all the torque and horse power from 0 is something i would like to feel.
I wouldn't mind trying it, but is severely unpracticle for daily use...
You have all of its torque available from 0 RPM. However, even with an electric motor, it’s the combination of torque and RPM (the two things multiplied together) that gives horsepower. Scotty misspoke about it being full horsepower from 0 RPM.
@@654Crossman Full torque available at 0 RPM doesn’t make it impractical. You don’t have to press the accelerator pedal all the way down in normal driving.

@@sategllib2191 I suspect the same thing. Whether a BEV is practical or not depends on the living situation of the owner. For some people, such as in cities with closely-packed houses and no off-street parking, or apartment complexes that don’t yet have enough charging stations, or someone who needs to drive long distances more than once in a blue moon, that’s probably true. But for others it could be just fine. Especially “for daily use”, where people who do have their own driveway (and eventually others as charger availability improves) could probably easily live with a shorter-range BEV as their 2nd car, and have a gas 1st car that they use for long trips.
Just a point, ..... when you push the rear part of the door handle, the door handle pops out, to easily open the door.
You don't have to fiddle about behind the door to pull it open, like he did in the video at 7:06

Hi Scotty! For the door handles, you are supposed to pull the skinny part of the handle after you push the big part in. This is much easier that grabbing the edge of the door👍
Idk but i still feel like that's too much work it makes it a 2 step instead of 1and it maight sound silly but makes diference for some people
we need to fix a proper 1 dollar drawer handle on those doors
Yep, press the wide part with your thumb and pull the door open with the thin part of the handle.

I've actually had a Detroit Diesel engine go backwards by pushing the clutch and brake abruptly when I was backing my tractor trailer up into a space in our yard ( the company I worked at). I turned the engine off quickly. The shifter was in reverse and when it happened, it went forward. This happened in the late '70s... it was a two cycle diesel engine.
Sounds like you are trying to help out with a great cause and kudos to you, Scotty, for donating your time and turning down the money to do this video free.
