Grew obsessed. Loved this vid so much and that ending song from the original soundtrack was such a massive throwback- I used to listen to it religiously... and I personally agree with Scott’s ranking of the films.
Funnily enough a couple of my favourite Ninja Turtles movie weren't theatrical releases. Turtles Forver, Batman vs the TMNT and Rise of the TMNT movie are all brilliant in there own right and the three I rewatch back the most. Really hope you get the chance to watch them too.
There's a fan theory that the ooze that made the Turtles and Splinter humanoid was caused by Matt Murdock. In the original comic, they were someone's pets who were knocked out of the owners hands when a young boy saved him from a truck that was carrying the ooze. Fun Fact 2: The Foot was inspired by The Hand. Needles to say, Daredevil was a huge inspiration to the TMNT.
HOLY SHIT!! Film theory found my boy Scotty! everyone knows you've made it when Matpat finds you lol. I think i found you around 30k subs, you've come a long way man, happy for you.

The fight scenes were on a new level and I liked the superhero aspect, the thought of them being "just regular guys that know how to fight" has not once crossed my mind at any point in this franchise lol
I haven't seen the Megan Fox ones but I think TMNT 2007 is the most interesting to me. Each of the Turtles actually feels not just unique but like they have their own character, even if Leo and Raph kinda overshadow the other two lol

I only eat my apples with a knife. In part, it reminded me of the badass way Malone ate that sausage before the feds had their shootout on the U.S.-Canada border in The Untouchables. But more importantly, I had a fake front tooth that likely couldn't handle the force of biting into anything. I now have a permanent implanted tooth there but many habits remain: cutting corn off the cob before eating, enjoying burgers and sandwiches open-faced. And eating apples with a knife. And with that, I can now go back to plotting world domination.
I remember liking TMNT 2007. I still have it on DVD and showed it to my kids. I agree I like the dynamic between Leo and Raph. I grew up on the old cartoon in the 90s.
Fun fact that I'm too lazy to fact check: The Foot is paroding Daredevil's The Hand. That's why the rat's name is Splinter (like Daredevil's trainer Stick).
TMNT 2 Secret of the ooze still pops into my head every now and then even though I haven’t watched it since I was around 12. The Scene where mikey crunches a carrot into raphs ear, the way they eat the pizza, the classic Vanilla ice cameo, and the opening scene where they beat up the robbers with yoyos and other toys. It’s a fun movie and still super memorable to me.
I grew up with the 2007 movie and I love it. Also side note my dad grew up on the original show and 90s movies and has the soundtrack on vinyl record. It has all the original packaging and it is so cool.
That fight scene between Raph and Leo in the 07 movie was something that I've always loved. Since the movie was kind of a follow up almost to the 2003 show, anyone who watched that would be like "oh yeah this is the natural progression of their relationship" because Leo and Raph ALWAYS butted heads in that show. To the point where they DID actually duke it out from time to time. There was actually a really good fanfic that was an alternate scene of the same fight, BUT with the younger siblings there. The writer managed to make this scene play out word for word (easy enough) BUT keeping to character with Michelangelo and Donatello with the two trying to break up the fight and failing. Instead of it culminating with Leo getting his butt handed to him, it ended with the two oldest brothers, stabbing the youngest as Mikey kinda pulls an Ash from the first Pokemon movie. Seeing the youngest so gravely injured BY their own hands, it snaps the brothers out of their idiocy and then the family kinda mends, since thanks to Don, Mikey was able to pull through, but with a limp...however it's implied that there's a lot left to work on. Which is SOMETHING I wish the movie had done; Leo was gone for a LONG TIME you can't just come back and expect everything to fall into place, which is what he expected to happen, thus the rift.
That first movie was the absolute bees cheesy knees when I was a kid. I'd love to hear Scotts thoughts on the 2003 cartoon series that aired on FoxBox and later 4KidsTv. And I don't want anyone to even suggest he didn't watch it because I know he did.
You should also check out the 2003 and 2012 tv series. I watched the 2003 series growing up and looked at the 2012 series for a while. Those were pretty great as well.
nice. I used to love the 2012 tv show and the turtles in general growing up. This brought back so many memories. I remember seeing a documentary on TMNT history as well, the first movies and comic books, and the beginning of the whole concept, which I found pretty interesting. Also, all those action figures lol how many are there XD
A really weird fun fact about me is when I was a pre-teen enrolled in Tae Kwon Do classes, my instructor was one of the stuntmen who acted as a couple of the Turtles in the original movies.
Never thought I'd hear the scarlet ibis mentioned, my 9th grade English teacher hates that story because she feels as though the ibis is shoehorned in as a meaningful symbol when it really isn't
You cannot even begin to guess how obsessed I was with the Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtles. Of course I watched every version of the show, watched every movie, played every game, but I went even further than that. I watched TMNT animatics on youtube and that is literally just the tip of the ice berg. I have no idea why I stopped being obsessed with it. It might've had something to do with moving because after I moved back to Texas I wasn't obsessed but before I was literally an insane person.

Fun fact: One of the kids in the TMNT 90s suit is Ernie Reyes Jr, he is the main character of Surf Ninjas (classic) as well as the “Float like butterfly sting live bee aaaaahh” guy in The Rundown. Secondary Fun Fact: idk yet if it’s in this video but vanilla ice had a whole section at the end of the VHS for a music video/mini documentary about said music video shit was so 90s.
As the oldest kid in my family, the 2007 film's fight on the roof has always been genuinely painful for me. Especially since me and my brother have never been on the best of terms and have fought constantly since the day he learned to talk.
Fun fact the 2007 tmnt is a 4th movie for the trilogy and proof is when splinter was putting the helmet on the shelf we can see shreeders helmet, the broken tcri bottle and the time wand
Fun fact: the guy in the Donatello suit is my high school theater teacher. He did his time in Hollywood, then on Broadway. Destroyed his hip and decided to spend his time nurturing a love for theater, film, and dance in kids in a bumfuck nowhere New England.

My dad actually was a stuntman for Secret of the Ooze! He played one of the Foot and in the opening he is the robber with the black white and red flannel on!
Another case of Scott manifesting stuff just by making a video about it. This video actually got me interested in the new one from a few months ago, thank Scott!

I just joined the fandom and I wanna understand, why don’t people like the 2014 live action? I like their personality, they seem more like hero wannabes but are actually just teenagers that train a lot- Plus I identified with Mikey
4:25 Hey! JonTron covered that game hahah...I'm not gonna lie, I do not remember seeing that game in Arcades when I was a kid in the early 90's. If my memory serves me correctly, and it likely doesn't, the arcade only had 5 games in the early 90's: Sunset Rider's, TMNT Turtles in Time, The Simpsons Arcade Game, TMNT Arcade Game and X-Men the Arcade game. As I recall that's all that existed at the time haha...and a row of movie themed pinball machines.
I grew up with Ninja Turtles throughout my whole life. Absolutely loved the original movies, had all the first 4 TMNT movies in a DVD set. Of course the 4th wasn't live action. I had action figures, I had the cartoons, I could name every line in every movie. This video was made for people like me. Honestly was super disappointed with the modern TMNT movies which I believe came out in 2014, but I know there is so much more that can be done with live action TMNT movies. Literally know everything about Ninja turtles, it was my life 😭😭
I think perhaps a lot of younger people today might not realize just how much of a cultural force/phenomenon TMNT was at one point. "It was my life" may seem like an exaggeration but it would absolutely have been pretty much true for a lot of kids. I wasn't as hardcore as some others but I was still probably more so than average. One thing I can say for sure is that the child version of me back in like 1994 would have been deathly jealous of Scott's toy collection. I used to have a little promotional pamphlet with page after page of various TMNT action figures that I would periodically look through longingly.
An American Tail, Ninja Turtles, Jurassic Park, and Titanic. Watching those movies on the big screen is etched in my brain. I remember first seeing the promo for the turtles movie as a kid. “Lean Mean and on the Big Screen. “ The whole damn theater erupted.
I was born in the year 2000 and my favorite movies are the 90s version of teenage mutant ninja turtles. Like everything about all 3 movies were soo good to me, the stories were fire, and the set beautiful I would literally go back and on my days off and just watch all 3 and feel good after😭
12:21 I'm sorry.... Scott did not just play music from Uncharted the game - more specifically, Nate's theme - after saying "uncharted territory." Now this, this is content.
Please do a part 2 reacting to Rise of the Teenage Mutant Turtles. It's the newest animated tv series. It is without a doubt the best adaptation to date. It was cancelled way too soon. 😔
Fun fact! The original tmnt was a parody of Daredevil! That’s why the foot clan is called that, cause in Daredevil it was The Hand
That's also why splinter is named what he is, he's based off of Daredevil's mentor Stick
Daredevil is superior and TMNT is superior
They were canonicaly made in the same accident as the one in which daredevil lost his sight
Also the stuff that burned Matt’s eyes is what made the turtles mutants
splinter is stick

Secondary Fun Fact: idk yet if it’s in this video but vanilla ice had a whole section at the end of the VHS for a music video/mini documentary about said music video shit was so 90s.
Now he needs to do a review of the TMNT cartoons lol
Lol
I love the Joel haver reference at the beginning. This video truly went insane-o style
"We are diving into uncharted territory"
*Uncharted theme plays*
A man of culture I see.....
I have rewatched the “dads robbing an outlet mall” part of this video *waaay* too many times
7:37
I remember loving the second movie and thinking Mikey’s yo-yo trick fight was the peak of comedy
It’s actually super refreshing seeing someone review these movies but just have fun with them instead of shutting on them constantly.
I love livin the insaneo style life! Thank you, Joel!!!
As the oldest kid in my family, the 2007 film's fight on the roof has always been genuinely painful for me. Especially since me and my brother have never been on the best of terms and have fought constantly since the day he learned to talk.
The 2007 TMNT movie and it’s video game were my introduction to the turtles and I’ve loved them ever since! Cowabunga Scott!
Same man I remember that movie and the game! Good times!
Fun fact the 2007 tmnt is a 4th movie for the trilogy and proof is when splinter was putting the helmet on the shelf we can see shreeders helmet, the broken tcri bottle and the time wand
I haven't even made it out of the ad yet, and I already give this video 10/10 Insaneo Style points.
Fun fact: the guy in the Donatello suit is my high school theater teacher. He did his time in Hollywood, then on Broadway. Destroyed his hip and decided to spend his time nurturing a love for theater, film, and dance in kids in a bumfuck nowhere New England.
Looks like you've got another to watch
13:00 “no good guy eats an apple with a knife” actually, the main character of Firefly eats apples with a knife because of reasons relating to his backstory
God I love that Scott puts his videos into sections that u can click on and see and stuff
My dad actually was a stuntman for Secret of the Ooze! He played one of the Foot and in the opening he is the robber with the black white and red flannel on!
Man is part of peak culture
Scott’s childhood: PBS, Christian movies, TMNT
So glad Diamondbolt got a mention from Scott. Two great TH-camrs.
4:28 - oh shit, I'd forgotten that the "regular or menthol" kid was played by a young Sam Rockwell
Bro left out the Batman Vs TMNT and Rise of the TMNT movie on Netflix. I'm filled with rage.
Always a good day when Scott posts
Another case of Scott manifesting stuff just by making a video about it. This video actually got me interested in the new one from a few months ago, thank Scott!
I love that a bunch of TH-camrs are starting to use "insaneo style" now
I have the three 90s, 2007, and Micheal bay movies on dvd to this day.
My dad exposed me to this franchise when I was like 8 and come at me all you like, I personally loved all the movies and series. I don’t have a least favorite movie when it comes to this franchise.
I caught the Joel Haver reference there. So glad Insaneo Style is catching on. 😉
I just joined the fandom and I wanna understand, why don’t people like the 2014 live action? I like their personality, they seem more like hero wannabes but are actually just teenagers that train a lot- Plus I identified with Mikey
Insanostyle! This was the crossover event of the century
I remember the 2012 show being an awesome show. If you want more turtles that’s an awesome way to go
FINNALY! I’ve been waiting for someone to recognize diamondbolt!
Literally know everything about Ninja turtles, it was my life 😭😭
same
I think perhaps a lot of younger people today might not realize just how much of a cultural force/phenomenon TMNT was at one point.
Sorry Scotty they just released a new TMNT movie. Now go watch it 😈
I was born in the year 2000 and my favorite movies are the 90s version of teenage mutant ninja turtles. Like everything about all 3 movies were soo good to me, the stories were fire, and the set beautiful I would literally go back and on my days off and just watch all 3 and feel good after😭
Same I’ve been rewatching all 3 a lot lately. It’s a shame I can’t do the same for the 2014 and 2016 movie
How long did setting all those action figures take?!?! Pretty cool though.
12:21
I'm sorry.... Scott did not just play music from Uncharted the game - more specifically, Nate's theme - after saying "uncharted territory."
Now this, this is content.
Please do a part 2 reacting to Rise of the Teenage Mutant Turtles. It's the newest animated tv series. It is without a doubt the best adaptation to date. It was cancelled way too soon. 😔
I was looking for someone to mention this! I was never into the turtles as a kid but Rise is just really good!!
Stellar use of "insaneo style." Really grabbed my attention for the ad roll. 😆
