The one moment this review didn’t cover was when Feedback tearfully told Stan that after his father’s death, Stan-through his comics-became a kind of surrogate father to him, teaching him right from wrong. It was one of the few times I ever saw Stan get really serious: he answered “Thank you. I’m not sure I deserve that, but that you.” You could tell it was a really humbling moment for him.
As much as I like Major Victory, I did start rooting for Feedback after he said that. Well actually it was mostly from that challenge with the "inmates", where the heroes were suppose to hug them. Feedback was the only one to get one of them to agree to a hug.

My local comic book shop, Golden Apple Comics in Los Angeles was in this show! Somewhere I have that comic...not sure anyone remembers it now so immortality may be a stretch.
Highkey this would make for a great adaptation where the characters are actually superpowered beings competing for status as an official hero. Stan's persona here could translate really well into a morally ambiguous figure representing the superhero organization, from holding the heroes to a ridiculously high standard to purposefully creating a villain for them to face.
There was an Image Comics series in 2003 called "Wildguard: Casting Call" about a reality TV show to pick five superheroes to form a new super-team. One of the five was actually picked by reader votes.

Honestly Stan feels like they sat him in front of a camera and held up cue cards, he doesn't want to be here
It doesn’t feel like that. It’s exactly what they did.
"superheroes are ALWAYS honest"
yes because leading a double life is one of the most honest things one can do
Major Victory feels like a superhero who would annoy Homelander in The Boys
And subsequently Homelander would be like "Oh you can fly? Then fly." And like throw him Mach 1 at a brick wall
@@psychotropicstate I’m giggling so hard
I’m only watching the boys for Jensen Ackles-
@@nbhd_deadpoet that’s pretty lame. it’s a good show
@@imsadlol4528 oh I actually really like it now- I meant I only started watching it because of jensen
That thumbnail awakened a long forgotten memory of a show i used to be OBSESSED with when it was coming out when I was 10 and 11, I remember distinctly how a superhero that was bigger instead of muscley was a really mind shattering idea for me and made me really happy
Can we just appreciate that scott tells us when the ad ends
Don’t tell Scott but I skip it every time 🥲
@@pugtatograce3462 we all do shhhhh 🤫
@@pugtatograce3462 it's all good, he knows. I think that's why he sections it off like that. It makes it really easy for people to skip over it if they don't care.
I think it would be neat if a show like this came out today. Even though it's not a cash prize, I think having a comic book issue based off of your own superhero is really cool.
major victory deserved the win i cannot believe this
Right!!!!
I was partial on NitroG myself
@@psychotropicstate victory just had main character vibes
Major victory is actually a marvel character now too
@@Dante-le4cp I looked this up and apparently Major Victory's first appearance was in 1969. So apparently the guy accidentally stole the name of an already existing super hero 😂
Major Victory deserved to win. That dude totally has it. He plays the superhero persona perfectly. He did it better than anyone else I saw there!
that one challenge would make me terrified of dogs.
also i love major victory
"as a human, im chris" please idc i love him let him win or else
i am so invested 😭
how dare stan say that stripper comment to major victory grrrrgrrrrr
I love Scott's energy in every video. I'm getting burnt out on commentary channels because they often feel like they're just complaining for views, but Scott is always so refreshingly positive!
"I can't disclose my secret identity."
- guy who's face is in full view
...So Feedback and Major victory were definitely in love 😂
... I'm mad that I genuinely love Major Victory. He's so... so GOOD. He makes me think of like, Shazam levels of being a superhero-- without actually being secretly a kid, of course. Just a bit silly, with a lot of heart.
I initially thought this was about Stan Lee's Superhumans where he and the world's most flexible man goes to check out people who have unique genetic differences and things that give them cool abilities. I'd love to see someone talk about that show, it was interesting.
I always wanted to be on this show when it came out. But I missed the deadline and probably wouldn’t have got in anyway. Brings back memories. Thanks, Scott.
Edit: Realised this is the American version. I watched the CBBC version which is pretty different lol
Lmao in literally other context imagine the girl being told “climb into my arms,” doing it, and then her immediately asking if she’ll ever see her mom 😬
I had never even seen this show before and all it took was seeing major victory for 15 minutes to start bawling like a baby when he got eliminated
sameeee hahahaha
I'm glad I wasn't the only one lmao it came out of nowhere and hit me so hard...
@@Vonias FRRRR MADE ME SO EMOTIONAL FOR WHAT
Bruh, having only seen 10 minutes of footage of this man, I can comfortably say that I would take a bullet for Major Victory.
"I'll stop the world and melt with you" as the song choice!? Was this an intentional Sky High reference???
I assume so, since he references the villain of the movie in the video!
It definitely was
Oh God, Major Victory did actually just make me tear up. That is the kindest I've ever seen someone leave a reality show. Telling Feedback not to do something stupid and to just let him leave. Thats genuinely something I don't think I've seen happen in any other show.
Stan Lee: Doesn't like it when people go on a show to further their career
Also Stan Lee: Takes credit for creating every Marvel character to further his career
He green lit most Marvel character up until like 2012
@@kgbofficer5629 How didn't he leave the company in the 90s?
I watched this show every week with my parents. I could tell it was among the more scripted reality shows, but it was fun as hell.
Stan just flamed all of them the entire show
Bro Major Victory is so wholesome. I hope his daughter sees him as a superhero too.
Why do i feel super nostalgic watching this, without even watching the show ever?
16:55 - 17:12 THIS FEELS LIKE AN INTERACTION YOU'D SEE IN AN ACTUAL SUPERHERO COMIC
How you don't have multi millions of subscribers is beyond me. I get so hyped up every time I see you've uploaded because there's literally 0% chance it won't be insanely entertaining.
"Imagine not telling them your name though, you'd look like such a weirdo!"
*contestants are all dressed in outrageous costumes*
I have no qualms to say I LOVED THIS SHOW. It happened right after I finally returned to my home in New Orleans a year after Katrina and it was just good ol fun
Holy shit I loved this show as a kid. I keep being surprised when Scott talks about shows I grew up with until I realise we’re like the same age
Stan: "Super heroes don't kill people, they save people!"
Scott: "Tell that to Deadpool."
Deadpool: "Not a superhero."
Beat me to it 🤣

Yeah, Deadpool is an anti-hero, they aren't fully good or fully bad. Boba Fett also fits this bill. They also make the most interesting characters imo.

"I-....don't know"
"WHERE IS THIS CHILD'S MOTHER?!"

I actually have the comic of the winner signed by him and Stan Lee. Prob worth like .50 cents
$0.75 take it or leave it
@@kanderson8965 .25 cents surplus. Heck yeah!
The obscure ones are my favorite! It's the reason I enjoy watching your stuff so much! A lot of people do the same stuff so finally watching something new is refreshing!
There is SO much homoerotic tension in all of this, especially Major Feedback leaving.
Bromance surpasses romance any day of the week
The CBBC (british childrens channel) did the exact some thing - but with kids. Less guard dogs and it was much more tame but it was also hosted by Stan Lee and had the same prize - a comic book written by Stan about your character. (Although it was more like a one off custom commission - I don't think it was ever sold). It even follows some of the same beats, getting their costumes remade, having their secret identity tested ect...
They literally just had to lie about their names. Give a different name every time you meet someone.
That's why I have like 4 different FAke names
And use only one of them 98% of the time (it's my favorite)
Oh crap, I remember watching this show with an older friend of mine who owned a comic book store and was o b s e s s e d with this premise. I remember just kinda thinking it was charming, but looking back on that time was pretty special, especially with those folks I watched the show with no longer with us. Really nice pull, Scott.
"Yeah, tell that to Deadpool"
Tbf, Deadpool's really more of an Antiheroes than a superhero😅
Man, I loved this show. I was so sad there wasn't a third season. To this day, I still quote a line from season 2 where Mindset says "I will not play any of your games! THAT IS HOW IT IS SPELLED!!!"
Feedback x Major Victory competitors to lovers slowburn
Me x Forbush-Man admirer to getting to play him in the MCU (Marvel make me Forbush-Man)
When Major Victory got kicked off it felt like the scene when Peter finds out his grandpa is dead.
You mean Uncle Ben?
