@@zolden37 my honest opinion on Raphael from Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, he’s better but they keep on trying to make him the leader but whenever they go too far they always revert back to Leonardo being a better off leader then Raph
The fight is the best scene in the movie but the nostalgic aftermath when raph throws the weights and lays down leos swords is just as good (in my opinion)
Interesting fact, in Leo's prequel comic to this movie, He actually kills a whole ship's full crew of human traffickers. This proves Leo canonically did kill those guys in the jungle and he will kill anyone if pushed to that point. Leo is also my favorite turtle
I'm serious, I learned that fact from a video on TH-cam channel Old Turtle Den I think and he explained how Leo and Raph got their respective titles before the events of this film. Also I have one favor to ask, PLEASE do make a Rise of the Tmnt 2022 movie review, it is my 2nd favorite ninja turtles movie and I would love to see your review of the film

The 2007 TMNT movie is criminally underrated at its finest. The final scene where Mikey sneezes after the death of redeemed Max Winters will always be funny.

I don't care what anyone says THIS is the best TMNT film to me! The way the characters were modeled and designed, the fight scenes, the voice-acting! It all felt PERFECT! It was almost like a modernized version of the Mirage comics
I never really seen anything TMNT until this movie, then I was instantly a fan. I enjoyed the Raph vs Leo scene and I loved Ralph fighting that tiny munchkin.
The biggest sin of this movie is not fully explaining the monsters, which is discussed on the DVD commentary. The monsters are "real-life" legendary monsters; the first one they fight is Big Foot/sasquatch, the winged bat-like one is vampires, the diner monster is the Jersey devil, the last big one is Loch Ness, etc. I always tell people this when I recommend this film, it really helps out if you know this going in.

If the game and comics were anything to go off of, it seems like they intended to form total brand synergy with the 2003 series. The Ninja Tribunal and Ancient One exist in this universe, Shredder's ingame model in the 2007 tie-in game was a 2003 Shredder model IIRC, and Karai was finally introduced to the movies. This movie will forever be my favorite adaptation of the turtles franchise, period. The storytelling, the visuals, the cinematography, the performances, and most importantly the fight sequences. Leo vs. Raph was and forever be fucking elite man.
Apparently the sequel was going to reintroduce Shredder. I can only imagine how badass that would've been. Probably would've been similar to the 2012 Shredder.
The sequel would also reintroduce the ooze and could potentially have something to do with his revival. There was a teaser that shows Mikey finding his father and brothers unmutated while the Shredder's face looms over him (I wonder if maybe this inspired the story of The Last Ronin)
The your mom joke is the best joke in the movie, but my personal favourite is “no I’m NOT playing hard to get, I TOLD you, it’s NOT THAT KIND OF PHONE LINE!!!!”
Growing up watching this film, in theaters, alongside the 2003 show on 4Kids, sparked a huge and neverending love for the Turtles. I loved all the Turtle scenes in the movie, I knew the movie wasn't the best (skipped the whole 300 scene every time I put this movie on) but it still had a special place in TMNT loving heart. Thank you for voicing your thoughts and nostalgia trips for this film. I'd be down for more TMNT related content.
I still remember most of it despite being more than a decade since I saw this. I'd be watching loads of TMNT stuff and alongside this I'd be building my LEGO TMNT set. Good times.
I remember seeing this in the cinema and left disappointed. But I can't remember why. it wasn't until years later I watched it on Netflix and was kind of like, "Omg. This is pretty great. The relationship between the brother but specifically Leo and Ralph is wild!"
This is a wonderful movie! It's not perfect, and nostalgia plays a big factor into why I love it. But who fucking cares it's peak! It's so sad that we only had one movie with these turtles. The possible sequels would've been amazing.
This is probably the most talked about TMNT movie on the internet. Although it has its flaws I admire its ambition to tell a story about TMNT that takes places after Shredder is gone.
My brother and I grew up with two best friends, and each of us had a different favorite Ninja Turtle. This movie came out after we all had graduated high school and we went to see it together, then went and got pizza afterward. It will always hold a special place in my heart for that reason, if no other.
Oh man I'm so glad to see a TMNT video on the channel! This film was one of my first introductions to this franchise alongside the 2012 series. Also would love a video on the latest movie.
The raph vs leo scene from start to finish is one of my favorite scenes to this day, this movie didn’t do much to justify itself but that scene alone was some of the best tension I’ve seen
11:13 from what we know the sequels were supposed to explore Don and Mikey a bit more. Like the idea of Mikey joining the foot in the sequel and Donatello being involved in the technodrome arrival in the third(ideas I think were said in an interview a while back). Would’ve been cool to see ngl.
This movie is seriously underrated! It was my favorite TMNT movie when I was a kid and it still holds a special place in my heart as an adult. Gems like this deserved better recognition than they got originally.
This movie got me hooked into TMNT as a kid. Despite the pacing and dialogue issues, it still has the PERFECT tone for TMNT. Serious ninjas, with hints of comic relief
This was my comfort movie as a child and I played the psp game for it. I loved it and to this day i still dont see any problems with it. Ive always been a fan of the turtles, the og cartoon and side scrolled game. I love all turtle content
Please do talk about Rise of the TMNT's movie (I think, like you were alluding to in this video, the parallels but also contrasts in how the focus is on Raph and Leo could be very cool to explore :P) Also, the other characters still do get to do stuff in it :)
Fun fact: TMNT 2 was going to happen at some point. The story was going to be about Mikey joining the foot clan after all the dismissal and disrespect he gets from his brothers. His brothers as well as Splinter would follow Mikey to Japan where they all get turned back into regular animals. So it would be up to Mikey to save his family and get them back to their mutated selves. Unfortunately, it never happened because the studio that made this movie went bankrupt.
Not only did I love the game based on the movie but I loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up on the Wii which had the character designs from this movie
Love this movie so much, got to see it in theatres and it was also one of my childhood pillars next to Fox Kids Spiderman and Power Rangers. Gotta go listen to the ost again cause now its stuck in my head. Was really weird how mutant mayhem had no main theme even tho trailers played the 80s version on piano amd then did a cool thing where they mixed it with ante up in another trailer
Regardless of whether it's good or if the movie still holds up this movie will always have a special place in my heart. I will always remember going with my dad to watch this movie in theaters when I was about 6.
This film was my first exposure to the Turtles when I was 7, it was only until the 2012 show that I had an actual proper introduction and went back to this movie. I love the serious tone and the animation, it has my favourite art direction and design for the Turtles. This movie is awesome.
Calling the Construction Destruction monster “Cocaine Bear” made me literally spit out my cereal in laughter. This is the best video ever. I’ve seen you around on Twitter but am kicking myself that this is the first video of yours I’ve seen. Breath of fresh air 👏👏👏👏👏
This movie is so underrated almost 20 years on. Excellent casting, a mood that most accurately fit the comic style and still self-contained that even your youngest brother doesn’t know who Vanilla Ice is. But I took my 65 year old mother to see Mutant Mayhem and she decided the 80s cartoon was better.
24:33 I always wanted to see a version of the movie where Leo followed something in line with the Tmnt 2003 intro saying "never fight unless someone else starts" so Leo hates Nightwatcher because he views him as an angry vigilante who fights crime out of rage and maybe even killing people If the scene where we see Leo in the forest didn't had him killing a dude off screen, would mean more because he and raph would be both vigilantes but Leo's comes from a place of helping people and trying to be better while Raph comes from a place of anger, trying to fill the void of his brother leaving them Mickey and Donnie also should have been part of the main theme more because they all brothers and deal trauma in different ways so get to see how each one deals with their emotions would make the movie great because it would be a more grounded but emotional story about broken brothers trying to get back together as family
This is still my favorite TMNT film. It has exactly what I want tonally and character wise from the franchise and I love how gritty and edgy the movie can be at times. The Rise movie and Mutant Mayhem were ok, but this entry in the TMNT franchise will always be epic as hell. It has the same qualities of why I love the original 1990 movie and Batman vs TMNT
This was my first exposure to TMNT. I had seen some clips from animated shows but this movie was my first full on ninja turtes movie. And I loved it so much.
I remember I actually rewatched it myself to see whether it held up to me a while ago and it still stands as one of my favourite movies and it’s so sad how Imagi went out of business. WE COULD’VE HAD A BANGER OF A 3D ANIMATED LEGEND OF ZELDA MOVIE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-
One of my favorite tracks in this movie is the Nightwatcher theme because it starts slow and then the music begins to get intense as the fight progresses. That fight scene lives rent free in my head it’s that good.
The 2000s the era of red haired childhood crushes - April O’Neil from TMNT 2003 (show) and TMNT 2007 (Movie) - Jean Grey from X-Men: Evolution - Sam from Totally Spies - Daphne from What’s New Scooby Doo - Emma from Stoked - Abby from Grossology - Jen from 6teen - Barbara Gordon from The Batman (2004) - Bloom from the Winx Club - Gwen from Ben 10 Alien Force and Ultimate Aliens
Hearing you say that TMNT and the '03 show was your childhood made me feel OLD. I was an '80s kid. The '80s cartoon was my jam, I had the 4 VHS tapes from the Burger King kids meals when the BK Kids Club was still a thing, the '90 movie was my joint, I was a member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fan Club and took a polaroid with Michelangelo at my local mall when I was a kid and I LIVED in the arcade playing the 4-person cabinet with my brothers. I still own the NES games to this day... Also, neither Picard nor Kirk are the GOAT............that would be Benjamin Sisko.
I think the thing with the CGI is that it looks a little dated with all the people and the human faces, because we know what people are supposed to look like, but the turtles still look amazing because there’s no real life analogue combined with the cartoony stylisation.
I remember going to see this movie for my bday when I was kid loved the movie and game that came out with it back then. I actually rewatched it recently and yeah it hasn't aged the best but the Leo vs Ralph fight still goes hard.
The thing that i love is that the reason leo won the first fight is because he wasnt holding back and didnt know that was his brother but when he learns that its rapheal he starting pulling his hits.
I only watched this movie twice in my life as a ten year old and I could still remember the iconic fight of Leo and Raph. Btw this is one of your funniest videos yet and I fully relate to your disappointment over Donnie and Mikey being sidelined as usual. It would mean the world to me if you talk about Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series and movie. It's a CRIME it got cancelled.
_This_ was how I _really_ got introduced to the Turtles. I was familiar with them up until I saw this film, but this movie is what got me into them more than before, so it holds a special place in my heart to this day (😊).
TMNT 2007 was literally the shape of my childhood when I was a ninja turtle fan, including the 2003 series, what a time it was to be alive in the 2000’s
Just saying...I honestly wouldn't mind a video series dedicated to the 2003 turtles. The dark atmosphere and action-oriented plot of the show is so ingrained into my childhood and remains my favorite iteration of TMNT. It's bonkers to me that it appears to get so little attention compared to more recent incarnations of the franchise, it's deserving of a proper analysis!
unfortunately, that's never gonna happen. the last ronin is confirmed to be the next *major* TMNT game (mutant mayhem's game is just gonna be shovelware). as much as I'd like that idea to be made a reality, it's clear nickelodeon doesn't value the 2003 series at all. every bit of merchandise is the 87 turtles, every crossover (including all-star brawl) includes the 87 turtles, the credits of mutant mayhem pay homage to the 87 turtles. I don't think the 2003 turtles are ever gonna matter to nickelodeon.
I will die on this hill but TMNT 2007 is forever goated I love this movie so much it’s just great and it’s criminally underrated I even got to tell the director Kevin Munroe how much I loved this movie and he appreciated my kind words and I appreciated his 💚🐢🥷🍕
I remember watching the movie from Rental Disc and later buy the DVD and this TMNT is what i'm holding dear from animation, music, and Action. And this movie is the reason Black Betty is my favorite song and using during Raph vs Jersey Devil was Iconic (to me that is). I even remember some of Tv channel promote Hercules Disney movie using one of TMNT soundtrack.
Maybe I'm showing my age here, but I genuinely don't know why you think it's "odd" that Michaelangelo has the "annoying stoner archetype". Mikey has been characterized this way since the 1987 cartoon series. He has been that surfer, stoner, pizza-eating stereotype until the more recent cartoon series (2012 and Rise) axed the surfer-bro personality and just made him more of a carefree, innocent younger brother. (Although the 2014 Bay Turtles clearly took inspiration from surfer Mikey). I was genuinely surprised that Leo didn't recognize Raph as the Nightwatcher during their hand-to-hand fight. I just kept thinking, _"Wouldn't Leo recognize the Hamato clan's fighting style?"_ 🤔 I mean he and his brothers have sparred together for their _entire_ childhood, after all. And as for where the monsters came from and why they were only "now" making an appearance, I remember back in 2007 (I was 24 years old and a HUGE TMNT geek) there were _forums_ of us digging through the film's clues trying to figure out _which_ monster was _what_ cryptid. The monsters were supposedly based off of "real" cryptids. For instance, if I remember correctly, the little monster in the diner was determined to be the Jersey Devil. (But don't quote me on that, it's been like 16 years since then. 😅) I'm SO glad that folks are starting to give this movie it's flowers. It's a good film that got dragged down by a "mid" story. Instead of the Max Winters storyline I wish they had instead pulled from one of the many stories and characters from the actual TMNT comics. (The Mirage comics, NOT the IDW). Thanks for highlighting this little gem. ❤
Honestly, that game was goated. Sure the graphics aren't the best, but the game play and speed running elements of it were great features. And the whole mechanic of one of the brothers stepping in when you reach 0 hp was brilliant.
This was the first Tmnt Movie I’ve ever saw that’s how I got into the Ninja Turtles in the first place, also Tmnt 1990 was the second film I’ve watched.

I love them both 👍👍👍👍
Boy are you wrong
@@billbolton7108opinions dont exist anymore?
mutant mayhem sucked
BROWNTABLE:”no talks about this one”
The Cult following:”ARE U SURE ABOUT THAT”
11:13 from what we know the sequels were supposed to explore Don and Mikey a bit more. Like the idea of Mikey joining the foot in the sequel and Donatello being involved in the technodrome arrival in the third(ideas I think were said in an interview a while back). Would’ve been cool to see ngl.
@Julianjulesr1361 me too.
Mikey always gets the shaft.
This movie is seriously underrated! It was my favorite TMNT movie when I was a kid and it still holds a special place in my heart as an adult. Gems like this deserved better recognition than they got originally.
Dude, nothing connected to me more than you loving the TMNT movie-based game. It was the best when I was a kid! I played that on my PS2 religiously.
This movie got me hooked into TMNT as a kid. Despite the pacing and dialogue issues, it still has the PERFECT tone for TMNT. Serious ninjas, with hints of comic relief
I'm not a huge TMNT fan but I do like the movie.
What year were you born?
90 one is the best
@@diegopansini3152 is that a good thing or bad thing?
15:35 the foot isn’t there to capture, remember they’re just the eyes and ears to locate them. Winters brothers are the ones to capture.
This was my comfort movie as a child and I played the psp game for it. I loved it and to this day i still dont see any problems with it. Ive always been a fan of the turtles, the og cartoon and side scrolled game. I love all turtle content
I had the DS game for this as a kid and never knew it was based off a movie so when I finally found the film as an early teen watching it was surreal
This film was my childhood! Thank you for talking about it. I love how mature it was
This movie was your childhood? What year were you born?
Please do talk about Rise of the TMNT's movie (I think, like you were alluding to in this video, the parallels but also contrasts in how the focus is on Raph and Leo could be very cool to explore :P)
Also, the other characters still do get to do stuff in it :)
19:50 That's how brothers act. If he's still breathing, then joke.
Damn I wish it got a sequel with Shredder. They even had time in between TMNT 2007 and TMNT 2014
This was a childhood classic!!!
I wouldn't say it's a classic. But it is a good movie though.
What year were you born?
This was my introduction into the TMNT and was my childhood also Nightwatcher should’ve returned in future iterations
There’s a comic that gives an origin of Raph being the nightwatcher and why he held such a grudge on Leo’s leadership!
PLEASE make a video on the 2003 TMNT series, the fanbase adores it but it is NEVER talked about to any wider audiences
Ramboraph4life and theitalianstallion51 both made great videos on that series it is the best ninja turtles cartoon
0:33 Oh my god! I... remember...
Wow that was quite a nostalgia trip from just 3 seconds of an opening theme song.
24:33 I always wanted to see a version of the movie where Leo followed something in line with the Tmnt 2003 intro saying "never fight unless someone else starts" so Leo hates Nightwatcher because he views him as an angry vigilante who fights crime out of rage and maybe even killing people
If the scene where we see Leo in the forest didn't had him killing a dude off screen, would mean more because he and raph would be both vigilantes but Leo's comes from a place of helping people and trying to be better while Raph comes from a place of anger, trying to fill the void of his brother leaving them
Mickey and Donnie also should have been part of the main theme more because they all brothers and deal trauma in different ways so get to see how each one deals with their emotions would make the movie great because it would be a more grounded but emotional story about broken brothers trying to get back together as family
WE COULD’VE HAD A BANGER OF A 3D ANIMATED LEGEND OF ZELDA MOVIE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-
This movie is one of my first cinema memories. It’s so special to me.
You took the words out of my mouth at the beginning, this movie was so huge for me as a kid.
One of my favorite tracks in this movie is the Nightwatcher theme because it starts slow and then the music begins to get intense as the fight progresses. That fight scene lives rent free in my head it’s that good.
The 2000s the era of red haired childhood crushes

Yes
The 2000s designers actually cooked with their feminine details 👀🔥👏🏼
I cant help myself but rewind the scene back of Raphael falling past the building EVERYTIME I SEE IT , it's 🔥🔥
ITS SO GOOD
I'm so glad you covered this movie! This is still one of my top 5 favorite Movies ever.
Mauricio, Bro you gotta talk about the '03 Series, that's the most GOATED iteration of the Turtles. Just make a video for each season!!!
Bro you and I need to be friends. I loved this movie too and I had crushes on all these animated women too 9:00
Hearing you say that TMNT and the '03 show was your childhood made me feel OLD.
I think the thing with the CGI is that it looks a little dated with all the people and the human faces, because we know what people are supposed to look like, but the turtles still look amazing because there’s no real life analogue combined with the cartoony stylisation.
i didnt know you and i were the same age until this video. you grew up with all the same stuff i did. and thats awesome. :)
Leo and Ralph have been fighting since the 1st live action TMNT. Their rivalry go way back.
They gave Ralph Black Noir’s suit lol
3:50
they definitely gonna cook up a dope ass theme song for those turtles in the upcoming tales of tmnt next year
I was SO in love with that movie as a kid. Watched it a hundred times. Going to force my roommate to watch it with me ASAP
I’m also a Leo guy, I’d love to see you talk more about the turtles
_This_ was how I _really_ got introduced to the Turtles. I was familiar with them up until I saw this film, but this movie is what got me into them more than before, so it holds a special place in my heart to this day (😊).
TMNT 2007 was literally the shape of my childhood when I was a ninja turtle fan, including the 2003 series, what a time it was to be alive in the 2000’s
I’m still peeved over Leo losing against Raph. I’ll never get over it
Raphael is literally me fr
That intercutting between Toretto saying “Salute, mi famiglia,” ending perfectly with Raph's mouth animation-that's pure art right there.
I definitely agree with you, I watched it, a bunch of times when I was a kid, and still enjoy it, to this VERY DAY!!!
not gonna lie, the way i lowkey yelped at the raph slander 😭 I shall not stand for this! (love you and your content, keep up the good work!)
It so good to see someone talk about this movie
I love this movie! It was absolutely my childhood and I always have fun rewatching it
This should have probably came out 2 months ago… use that $100 Million Dollar marketing budget
I will die on this hill but TMNT 2007 is forever goated I love this movie so much it’s just great and it’s criminally underrated I even got to tell the director Kevin Munroe how much I loved this movie and he appreciated my kind words and I appreciated his 💚🐢🥷🍕
I’m with you man Leonardo has always been my favourite Turtle like how Cyclops is my favourite member of the X-Men
I had a crush on Raph in this movie as a kid 😭
AHAHAHAHAHAHHA so valid
I'm SO glad that folks are starting to give this movie it's flowers. It's a good film that got dragged down by a "mid" story. Instead of the Max Winters storyline I wish they had instead pulled from one of the many stories and characters from the actual TMNT comics. (The Mirage comics, NOT the IDW). Thanks for highlighting this little gem. ❤
This is the movie that got me into Ninja Turtles and yes, please do more videos on Ninja Turtles.
We have to admit this movie does have the hottest Karai design and she's voice by Lucy Lu ... Aw yeah lol
Honestly, that game was goated. Sure the graphics aren't the best, but the game play and speed running elements of it were great features. And the whole mechanic of one of the brothers stepping in when you reach 0 hp was brilliant.
Thanks for posting your thoughts, I really enjoy listening and watching and thinking about your videos. Thanks man
This was the first Tmnt Movie I’ve ever saw that’s how I got into the Ninja Turtles in the first place, also Tmnt 1990 was the second film I’ve watched.
