Good girl! It is wonderful that you are trying to change how you eat now, so that you won't develop health issues as you age. Make sure you cut out the sugar as much as possible because that seems to be the major problem. Keep up the good work of being a healthier you!

I'm a very slim person so I would eat a lot of sugary and unhealthy things. When I turned 30, I started getting blemishes on my skin and having other issues. I found out I was prediabetic and once I changed up my diet and cut down on sugar, things started to get better so a slim person is not necessarily a healthy person.

You say dietary cholesterol has very little to do with blood cholesterol cos the liver makes most of it. Then you go right back and say we should cut out most fats from our diet. 🤦🏽‍♂️ make up your mind. Animal fat is not the problem. Processed food is! And canola oil is very unhealthy. And you are aware that low fat products usually have high sugar right???

I had my heart attack three weeks ago and had stents fitted to the left side of my heart, I'm waiting for further stents to be fitted to the right side of my heart in a couple of weeks.
Diet has been identified as my main issue.
Question, I've really increased the amount of fiber I'm eating, and I'm constantly constipated, I thought fiber was supposed to help.
Obviously I'm eating a mediteranian diet, with a lot less olive oil, I'm scared to death to eat anything to be honest, so I'm just eating fish salad, in lower and lower amounts because I don't like either..

I am confused. You say food in cholesterol is not very related to the cholesterol in the bloodstream. However, you say you recommend eating scallops/shellfish because they are low in cholesterol. Do you mean they are low in fat?
Also, what about the salt content of scallops? It seems pretty high.

I see that you show the formed little carrots in a salad and understand from other healthy food choice discussions that these are mechanically formed and dipped in a chlorine type solution to keep off bacteria until eaten and that is why if not eaten right away turn white on the outside. Is this true and if so is this a good thing to show on the site?

I’m very fussy when it comes to food, I love foods high in sugar and salt, I can only eat salads if they have a nice tasting dressing on top, I really need to change my ways now, I’m physically active so I just need to give up the sweets and crisps (potato chips, I’m British) and then I’m good to go.

I been dieting for 9 months. Lost 40 pounds. You would think I should feel really good. No. That's not what have. I feel worse. I have no energy or very little at best. I'm trying to prevent heart disease. I don't want to wait for something bad to happen before I change my ways so I'm dieting now for prevention. To be honest it's very difficult. It's a real drag to go grocery shopping and truthfully I often starve myself so I won't have to smell the good foods I want but can't have. It's a bummer.

My current diet is as followed ( as a180 weightlifting person)
    - I take hgh in the mor6when I wake up and fast 2 hours as the bottle says.
    - then either a shake or a lean meat to get around 30 grams of protein and lots of carbs and 2-3 fruits and veg
    - a big meal... a chicken breast, or a Tuna sand , maybe a lean burger patty or a steak with rice or while wheat bread and a veg
    - lifting ( before I eat a big handful raisins) then make a 50 gram protein shake, then I sip it throughout the workout...
    - ( after workout) I'll wait about 30 minutes then have about 40 grams of protein ( via chicken or beef) then lots of broccoli, 2 carrots and a potato.
    String cheese ( 2x)
( shake or leftovers to make up to 40 grams of protein)
    Is this healthy??

Plenty of Fish steamed.. or boiled...

You should be ashamed of yourselves. This is the same diet people have bean pushing since the 50s and the obesity problem has only gotten worse. Education yourselves on the actual science.

This is not a healthy video. It is a premature death video.

Why do you say it's not healthy. Believe me, I sure don't know what's healthy & not healthy so I'm trying to learn. I have high triglycerides & high cholesterol & I need to know what to do. My Dr. told me I need to eat a healthy diet, and I don't really know how to do that.

It's actually sugar, dairy and processed foods that causes heart disease, obesity and cancer along with inflammation, which is the root of most diseases. If you go low sugar and give up white sugar, white flour, cows milk, sugar substitutes like Splenda and use more whole foods like coconut sugar, maple syrup, or honey, you will lower your inflammation. I only use real butter or olive oil and I make everything from scratch. I make my own salad dressings, pasta sauces, gravies, veggie/chicken stock and bread. My honeys triglycerides have come down from 598 in a low fat diet to 174 on a whole clean diet.

I am always disappointed in these so called healthy heart videos. In order to eat healthy for your heart one needs to remember this: no oil (including margarine of any sort), no salt and no dairy! When cooking, instead of using oil use vegetable broth.

I was skeptic about Agoge Diet because I thought that I would have to eat only broccoli to lose weight. I am eating only food I like and still losing weight.
