I have started a new life style.. low carbs and healthy fats . And I'm seeing wonderful results. Regular exercise too. I feel healthy and energetic. My A1C has dropped from 10 to 7 and improving still. It needs discipline yes. And as you say, we have to keep our doctor in the loop

Very well explained Dr. Mohan. I learned everything you said 3 yrs ago. At first it's so hard, but later on it's so ok to do it. I'm no longer taking medicines for diabetes, i just take vitamins and just eat the right food you are suggesting, a little exercise, and i feel ok. I hope everyone will follow your advice. Just be determined of what you do and eat, everything will be ok. GOD bless everyone...

Don't follow his diet. You will never recover from diabetes. If you truly want to reverse your diabetes thus reverse your insulin resistance eat animal food(chicken, beef) and animal fat(butter ghee etc). Thank me later

I started the 'Healthy Plate' concept. I have salad consisting of a cumumber, carrot and beetroot or radish. Half my food is salad for both lunch and dinner. I followed it for 3 months now. Voila.. my HBA1C came down from 7.8 to 7.0. I am in my 4th month now. I do take medicines, Pioglitazone 30 mg twice a day and Vildagliptin M 50/500 twice a day.
Thank you Dr. Mohan. You have been a great help to me sir. God bless you.

Listened to you, Dr. Mohan. Am a qualified nutritionist too. There's an interesting input I'd like to add here, after listening - and that is that diabetic control is directly related to the average daily diet in our society; food is such an EMOTIVE ISSUE in Indian families.... It has become synonymous with being cultured, being a family oriented person, being a good hostess at home, being a ' homely and obedient daughter in law, even to the point of 'judging someone as ' living life fully' OR THE CONTRARY!!! Eating to live is perceived as miserly, questioning and changing patterns of eating for the family disturbs and upsets members..... UNTIL disease comes knocking

My medication is Glugophage 850 mg. twice daily n Neurobion once in the morning. My diet is mostly half cooked vegetables, fruits n minimum rice. I have a Glugometer n my glugose reading is under control. Prefer to do most of house work by myself to keep fit.

Doctor, I am having diabetes since 1 year. I had cancer thrice in 3 places. First kidney , initial stage. So removed 1 kidney. No treatment. After 7 years breast cancer. Removed that breast and had chemo and fempro for yrs. After 11 yrs again I had cancer. It was in 3 different parts. They told it was not curable but with injections we can prolong life. So took 18 injections for 1 year and now fempro 2.5 mg life long. Taking neuro tablets also since 5 years. Is there any chance for my diabetes related to any of these reasons? Can u pls answer? BANG ON!! Finally a Diabetic Doc who Speaks Sense.
My Grand Mother lived till 82 with Diabetes & BP . However she was consistent with the diet until 81.
She replaced sugar with sweetex drops for every day tea.
Ate a plate full of Rice & Fish every afternoon. Dinner was light vegetables or soup. Most importantly
NEVER seen her Stressed only Praying.
    Never seen her exercise either.
Had a maid to do household chores aswell.
Back then there was no way to monitor sugar or BP everyday or regularly.
So I guess the Golden Rule would be to
    Become a Disciplined Diabetic.
    Eat Simple & Limited.
    Avoid sweets except occasionally.
Don't Stress Hand over to GOD what you cannot handle.
Get Early to bed & be Early to rise.
    Exercise moderately every morning.

Plate system is 👍. Diet, exercise, medicine and most importantly we should be happy . Though everyone has some or d other things in life for not being happy. I have experienced being happy controls sugar levels
