Brand Twitter has long been my archnemesis. A perfect blend of rampant consumerism mixed with unfunny memes and a groveling audience that happily laps them up, I can't think of something that grinds my gears more than Brand Twitter. In this explosive ManyKudos classic, we explore some of the many ways that Brand Twitter has messed up over the years, whether it's an auto-reply mistake from one of their bots, a backfiring poll, or even just a classic human interaction that will leave you cringing. Every brand on Twitter, from Burger King to McDonalds to Wendy's are guilty of this, and I hope this video shows that they only care about swindling all of those luscious, beautiful coins you carry around with you in a large burlap sack.

Yeah the military has some pretty dark stuff to get people hyped, during a graduation thing from Air Force basic training we were in an auditorium and watched a video montage of USAF vehicles blowing up trucks, buildings, and people, to the sound of Thunderstruck. At the time we all screamed like banshees and cheered, but looking back on it, it was kinda fucked up.

It's also necessary to actively desensitize these people to brutal violence, and convince them that they are fighting for vaguely defined abstract concepts that also appeal to pathos, such as "freedom", "the fatherland", "our ancestral religion", etc. while turning their attention away from any real examination of the concrete reality of who benefits and how (answer, most of the time: the wealthy, powerful people who start the war, but don't actually fight it, will get wealthier and more powerful).
Don't sell your life to the federal government, kids. They're prepared to break you psychologically and then send you to die, you think they have any motivation at all to be honest with you, or to spend money on you after your purpose as a pawn is all used up? Don't be a fuckin rube. Spend that energy elsewhere, and OF YOUR OWN VOLITION.

Context for the last McDonald's tweet: In the UK, there's a specific type of haircut known as the 'meet me at McDonalds' which is super popular with 11-15 year olds Chavs. It looks dumb as shit even when done by a 'good' barber - so most of the time it looks awful. ABC13 is in my hometown. The umbrella thing looks really dumb and insensitive on the surface, but it needs context. They ran a separate story about her earlier that week or the week before about her tragedies. And she had said at some point one of the things she regretted the most losing in the fire was her prized ABC13 umbrella. She was a huge fan of the weatherman seen in that tweet. So they surprised her with him personally bringing her another. So the tweet should've been written better, but it makes more sense and doesn't seem insensitive when you know the context.

About the pride stuff. As a gay man I find this rainbow-painted marketing to be extremely insulting. None of this even existed until it was safe and profitable for companies to do it. They're not "progressive." They're just corporations looking to shill and pander for every penny. I actively avoid supporting companies that do it.
Leave it to a brand to grab something, leverage it for money and completely ruin it.
It's especially obvious when they are an international company with branches in places where it wouldn't get them browny points from the population/governments and they completely change tune there. You wont see any of the big corpos put on rainbow flags in Russia or Islam controlled countries. If they actually were progressive they'd take the blow in those markets and have a unified message.
It's ok. Rainbows will always be beautiful. They're not anyone's to take, be it for ego or corporate wokeism. Maybe people should go back to putting drugs into certain soft drinks that rhyme with Woka Cola. Like the good 'ol days.

Brand twitters get a big, hard ... no from me. I remember over the years people would be like "Oh but this one is funny!" Nah it ain't! That's just what they want! I even find that official twitters for shows have gotten obnoxious too. At this point I just wish twitter would let me follow nobody, without suggesting me things. It's people like you that are actually able to get me to sit through a sponsors ad because it's not just you reading a script from the company. It, like Internet Historians ads, has personality unlike other sponsored videos, I may not get the product, but I enjoyed watching the sketch made for the ad.

I think this channel puts more effort into the green screen than most channels. Notice the orange lighting in the main set, and he even put effort into the ad section by having a light simulate the light that would be shining through the large window in the fake room, that's some attention to detail and I love it
