    Porsche says that the PDK top speed = 197 mph and the 6 Speed Manual top speed = 198 mph. What that translates to in the real world is over 200 mph for the 992 GT3 regardless of which transmission you have. I don’t think I’ve seen a Porsche made in the last 25 years that wasn’t quicker accelerating and had a higher top speed than what Porsche officially stated so there’s no reason to believe that the new GT3 is any different.

  • @tommy516
    @tommy516 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The extended range fuel tank is the greatest option available on the 911, right now. I have one on my base 992.... and no lie, I get almost 600 miles, that’s right, SIX HUNDRED, miles of range on one tank with the AC off!

    • @VK-sc6mf
      @VK-sc6mf 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You picked the wrong car if you're trying to extend it's range on single tank by cutting corners on AC and stuff like that, like it's some kind of economical diesel. I'd also take this fuel tank option but it wasn't possible on Carrera 4S because of front drive system.

    • @tommy516
      @tommy516 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VK-sc6mf Its the fifth car I own, I have a Taycan and Cayenne as well, so range isnt an issue. The point is, with the normal tank, at least in an S; you get like maybe 200 miles of range with normal driving and with the extended range tank, driving 600 miles on the freeway at 70mph with bursts up to 95, you get around 500 miles....that's incredible, granted it was in a base, so the ER tank on an S/GT might be a little less but still, to have almost 600 miles of range on a car is incredible, thats the point and if you do a few things, you can top that.

    I was afraid they were going to give it 8 gears what sense would it have made if they were lightweighting. It goes 0-60 in 2.85 sec and 10.85 @ 127.9 mph. They stiffened the rear springs to cope with the additional downforce.

    If the regular GT3 is this nuts, I can't wait to see how the new RS is going to turn out. It's crazy how much Porsche can squeeze out of that GT3 platform by just adding more downforce than the outgoing model and a double wishbone in the front, the result is faster times on the track.

    Thanks for yet another great video! Awesome idea to get some historical design elements in the modern 911 GT3's and especially in the Touring. Going even a step further to make the Touring even better for touring would be more access to the space between the rear seats. Maybe something like on the McLaren 570GT? I also like the idea of Henry Catchpole to have a fixed bucket seat for the driver and one that folds forward for the passenger.

    The Bruan shaver shifter was growing on my for the PDK. In fact, I like the shaver more than the fake manual looking shifter. Porsche gets everything right, but that darn shifter is plaguing them.. lol

    • @cmacd8879
      @cmacd8879 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What you are missing is that there are a fair number of PDK drivers, especially in the GT cars, who actually use the central shifter in some situations. The Chris Harris review shows this well... when the wheel is way off centre you can always find the shifter for a quick shift.... but not with the stubby one.

    Well since over the last 4 years, I managed to save up 45k for a BRAND NEW Mustang GT Mach 1. It is perfect for me. 45k down payment and finance the next 11k. The car is a Mach 1 which replaces the pp2 I was going to get originally, until Ford made the incredible pp2 into the Mach 1 this year and the TOTAL cost is at 56k (dealer fees, few add on mod's and taxes jumped it from its MSRP of 52k). I was gonna get the pp2, but the mach 1 is more stunning, and is like a baby shelby GT 350 in terms of performance. Now it ain't no Porsche, but it's okay, after I install the borla's, I would not care about any car that can beat it, I'll just want to hear that engine sing. Another reason why I jumped on the Mach 1 which IN MY OPINION has the best engine note in the world. Yes the LFA and Carrera gt v10 are out there and so is Ferrari V12's, BUT that grumble and roar of the 5.0 Cross plane DOHC V8 has the best Muscle, sports and oddly, high rev exotic sound in 1 package to my ears. I mean these dumb ass electrical cars which causes a lot of pollution to make 🙄 are freaking showing up everywhere now. I mean catalytic converters on the ICE engine are doing its job. A world filled with ICE cars with cats are better than having electric cars that were made in a factory that erupts pollution to make those batteries.

      Yeah it's a track focused car and doesn't have that much ground clearance so it would
      give problems near speed bumps

    MotoMan, great review. Looks like you had so much fun! Beautiful car. Tremendous review and recap of the vehicle and specs. Why is this car slightly slower than its Turbo siblings?

      GT models are never fastest in a straight line.... Turbos have way more torque plus AWD to put it down....

    I have chosen to ignore your advice and negatively opine about the size and weight. Why? Both have increased over the previous gen.and they’ve also increased NVH and cost through the need to use expensive lightweight materials to compensate for the bloated platform design. Secondly, despite using a more advanced front suspension geometry, which should give a more composed and pleasant ride quality, Porsche then goes and fits an unnecessarily harsh spring rate which ruins the daily ability of the car. What Porsche has done is make the RS model. And I’ll take mine in that python green please. 😁

      1.Did you happen to watch the Cayman GT4/Spyder video with Henry Catchpole and Andreas Preuninger? Porsche had to change their way how vehicle weights were published. In the past, you could just publish the weight with all the weight-saving options: CCB, bucket seats, PCM delete, whatnot. It is not possible anymore, so it is indeed plausible that the new 992 GT3 is not really heavier IF you compare it to a similarly specced 991.2 GT3. 2. All the reviewers seem to mention the overly stiff suspension, so the Touring might just be the one to go for.

    This the Porsche I need
    992 GT3 with PDK.
    I don't get all the touring version love.
    Loud and proud I say .
    ( but maybe in a more subtle colour like silver )

    On the options or wish-list, did you not have the choice of the Club Sport package , that we have this side of the pond ?
    It involves the built in rear role cage for track day use and as your cup of tea, even taughter on those canyon roads ??
    First time I’ve never heard you ask for a sunroof or panoramic roof, instead picking the carbon option , only teasin’ 🤣
    Keep up the great work and looking back to your old self 🙏🏻

Your humor is outstanding. Your feedback is very relevant to me which as a true car lover isn't always the case. I'm sure you hear this often, but a heartfelt Thanks!!

    If $$ were no object for me I would have this car in touring with MT-over everything else out there. Second would be a Speedster for top down goodness. I would have no need for any other car.
