Hello again from Victor and my daughter Izabelle who lives in Langley City, BC Canada 🇨🇦 If you can remember we commented back and forth on your "I bought my first Porsche " video. Anyways, my daughter seems to like your channel and your reviews more and more!! We both really enjoyed this one and how incredibly detailed you are, Danka! Lol My daughter has now built her own personal Porsche! I won't do every option except hers is either a 911 GT2 rs or 911 carrera s cabriolet, she wants pink if not the same blue you chose, the front lift, ambient lighting, leather package, just to name a few. Her cabriolet came out to 237,970 CND $ with her option game coming out to just over 37,000$ I must say that this was a PROUD FATHER moment 😂 Did I mention that Izabelle is now 13 years old?? May God continue to bless you always, Victor Kopp
U can probably get carbon roof in body color no? Is this car carbon roof body color? I would get a body color sunroof from the other 992 models put in, it would just make it a better experience
Great video as usual. I own a 992 GT3. Hope some of the ST features make it into the next gen GT3. In regards to ADM vs Sticker debate, please remember that TH-cam celebs like you, Mat Watson and Chris Harris likely get MSRP allocations where us regular folks won't . Does not bother me in the least, you deserve it. After all this is America, if you want to be an automotive TH-camr anyone is free to give it a whirl. Just an observation.
Welcome back, MM! Thanks for the insightful episode! My personal wishlist: how about MM Podcasts? To really get into the nitty gritty details. Perhaps I am not but one man who'd be absolutely stoked by this!
That was a great video. I have a 991.2 Turbo, and love it. Never had the opportunity to try a GT3, and never will be able to try the S/T. My sales rep told me that once you’re in a Turbo, you won’t want to go to any other 911. Any truth to that?
Great to see you back MM. What better way than with an ST. Seems to be another great 911 and one starts to think if peak911 will be ever reached. Alltogether between these two i do preffer the GT3 touring looks. A bit less busy yet stricking and the blue/gold combination is epic. White wheels are hard to swallow in a 911 yet these ones look pretty good.
Vehicles are MUCH like computers and other technologies. Buy what you want NOW, but KNOW ... something better is just around the corner. :) I bought a truck in '22. A diesel wasn't available "for reasons" for that particular model / trim. Six months later? "A diesel will be available in the next model year!" I'm not SURE I would've paid extra for the diesel, but it was a bit of a kick in the shins for those "reasons" to go away...... Between the two, if money were no object (yes, yes, it always is)... I think I'd pick yours! Love love LOVE that color!
A bit different with these. I am a Mac guy. I buy my hardware when major updates happen so I can lock in tech for at least a couple of years before they become outdated. In these cases, the cars never become outdated - just a little less special.
Nice to see a real world owner review on the 992 GT3T and S/T. I'm a 992 GT3K owner who coverts an S/T. Like you, have been fortunate to have driven both back to back. The S/T is even less of a Grande Touring car than the GT3K/CS/RS as it is partly defined by NOISE albeit it less so than the Cayman RS. The other defining feature is the single mass flywheel with lightweight clutch. Rapid changes are essential to avoid the revs falling to idle in the blink of an eye. My own GT3K with asymmetrical seats and every lightweight option weights 1,390kg whilst the S/T to a similar choice of options weights 1,380kg. Wish that my hands and cheeks were still sensitive enough to tell the difference in unsprung weight between the two models! But with every fiber of my being, I must have an olde world 911.
Great to see a video about the ST by someone that actually owns a 992 Touring. Both very special cars. FYI in the UK, we dont have the obligatory lease but with only approximately 10% of the 1963 production coming to the UK you still have to be a very good customer.....
MM is my favorite auto journalist. Love his no BS style! This was pure eye candy. Beautiful home and cars! If I’m being honest, I’d want my S/T to have the same clutch as the Touring; I couldn’t care less about saving those 15 pounds! I want my 911 to be reliable and robust! Love your Touring and the S/T equally! Where’s the Porsche belt? Big P FTW! Shame I can’t get an S/T. Appreciate ya. Cheers/B
George, great episode! You didn't mention, but perhaps allude to another venue of yours where you get more pedantic..... but the cool hat trick of the programming of the rear spoiler to come on later, which is also permitted by the tiny lip spoiler, thus preserving the great lines for normal speed driving (they should make that system standard or retrofittable on all current lesser 911s). This extreme, and extremely delightful yet unattainable model got me thinking: Talking 911s in general.. I don't know, car not available but: make mine a base 911 with manual (not now available - and/or alternatively, bring back the "real" 991 pdk shifter), 18 ways, sunroof, no lowering PASM (it's low enough ferkrissakes, speaking of - with our lousy streets, curbs and driveway aprons, front lifter = yes), rear wheel steer or not, AWD or not, no "T" lightening, no sports exhaust but 'yes' to the optional quad tips sport pipes (best looking setup of the bunch, and amazingly not available with the sport exhaust), stick with stock 19/20 rims... = happy camper. As a bonus - make this hood available, and the paint at least PTS, just because they're cooler than all get out! (Regarding those last two items, there's going to be so few of these ever seen on the road, and exclusivity be damned they'll sell every one of them anyway, why do they care?). Voila - perfect 911. (Aka, minus the bonus extras...but you could theoretically get close PTS,... net result, essentially the confoundingly unheralded 991.2 base)
There was SOOOOO much to cover on that car we couldn't do it in just one episode. Cover more in the coming comparison episode however, even the wing detail didn't make it:)
It’s not just a forced lease program by Porsche. Most dealers are asking upwards of $250k ADM. I assume they incorporate that into the lease of the car too.
Great show as always! Both cars are fantastic, I do like your car color more and I do realize the more limited production run is the higher the resale value will be, but I just can't see $150,000 for less than .02 seconds! Now others will gladly pay but at some time you will cross a line that very few will cross!
Well true but unless you just have money to burn I am not sure the real value is there! I will however take your word about the experiencebeing worth it!@@MotoManTV
Great review. My thoughts. While the added cost is a bit intimidating in and of itself, for me, as an every day user, there are some real detractors. The roll cage and no back seat for one. BUT the carbon body panels. Can you imagine the insurance cost to repair a shopping cart ding, or crack?!. I'd almost shy away from getting it as too extreme for me, similarly to how I got off the very top of the Spyder RS allocation list at my dealer and decided I like my "regular" spyder better given the ability to customize a ton more than the RS and the lack of choices and the overdone aesthetics, in my book for the RS. I guess that's what's great. Something for everyone and being very happy with my choice. Currently on the list for a GT3 Touring. By the time my name comes up it will likely be the end of the 992.2 runs. Will be nice to have it parked next to my 718 Spyder in the garage. The ST, very very nice, but NOT FOR TED. Be well Motoman. Drive safe.
Love your vids! The ST is definitely my dream Porsche & you've cemented that for me. I'm curious if you'd share the Porsche dealership(s) that are selling GT cars at sticker. Galpin? I've developed a relationship w/my local dealer here on the East Coast that has provided me the opportunity to own 4 GT cars but none of them came at MSRP & I'm frankly tired of premiums! I'm not trying to get something for nothing...the GT cars are definitely excessively expensive well optioned (Weissach etc) but the ST would be on the order $125-150k ADM here. So basically I'm overpaying somewhere on the order of well equipped 911T if I want the ST. That's ridiculous. I even said wouldn't it make more sense for the dealership to just sell me both cars at sticker rather than the outrageous ADM on the ST...
A number of folks around the country I know were able to find one at sticker - however, here is the caveat: They ALL, like me, had to wait a VERY long time to pay MSRP. I bought mine from Porsche Santa Clarita.
Also, throw in a minimum mileage stipulation. Since we are leasing you need to have a minimum of 10k on the clock. These cars were designed to be driven and people buying and driving the cars 100 miles a year aids in the whole special car flipping arena. Personally, I like the cars with mileage. That means it was reliable and a joy to drive.
I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to find a dealer who will sell me a GT3T at MSRP to no avail. It’s exhausting. For folks who love the car and aren’t speculators it’s a real bummer to have to pay $75k over MSRP used, and not get to pick your own spec. It’s really frustrating.
Rather than doing a 1 year lease, Porsche could require a 1 year escrow of $100,000 or 50% of the value that would be forfeited if the car is sold early.
Smart marketing by Porsche. Exclusivity creates demand for a limited supply, ensuring high prices. A great example of diminished returns for the buyer. Is it better? Depends on who you ask. Ultimately we're chasing a moving target, the next best thing. I've enjoyed my 2016 Boxster S, a gift from my late wife. It's more than fast enough, a better car than I'm a driver.
how does the roll cage look in person? I just can't get over what looks like a terrible design but have never seen one in person. Great in depth info our leasing. You bring more to the table than others which is why I'm a fan.
The roll cage is one of those things that is very personal. I am not a huge fan but a couple of friends of mine who saw the car in person loved it. A great example beauty is in the eye of the beholder . . .
A friend's car. A bit behind the scenes: He came to visit when I happen to have that car for a special annual cruise in we do each year - had to include that clip because I love his car . . . and yes, it has the Pasha interior.
Welcome back, M! Hope you had a wonderful time with the family in Oregon during the holidays. I was looking forward to hearing your thoughts about the ST & how it stacks up against the Touring. Personally, I like the Touring more. I just don't find that side vent aesthetically pleasing. I'm sure it's functional and necessary to improve brake-cooling/airflow, but it reminds me of the aftermarket fenders they put on FD RX7s. On a sidenote, the Pagoda & the Gullwing artwork on the wall next to it is just Bellissimo. Excellent work, like always M.
Happy New Year, Amro! I didn't want to say it out loud because I am very biased, but from an aesthetics point I do prefer the Touring. And once again, keen eye . . . you have seen that Pagoda AND Gullwing before . . . th-cam.com/video/GDvDK7UmwfU/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/QpPP0RUUw9s/w-d-xo.html
@@MotoManTV Yessir, the Touring is the Goldilocks of the special 992s. Not as generic- as the Sport Classic nor as over the top as the ST. Don't get me wrong, they are magnificent cars, but the Touring is just right. I remember the videos, your friend seems to be an avid SL fan. The Artwork, the Gullwing, the Pagoda & the R231, did he get the new SL yet? 😉
I doubt that the one year lease it's going to make a difference. They're still going to flip them after that. Here in Canada, the Sport Classic sells for over 300k over MSRP which is insane. For that kind of money, I'd rather get an F8 Tributo which is in a different league and keep the change.
The expensive one year lease will soak up a lot of the profit potential for the flippers. That should make people at least consider holding onto it. What they should have done is structure the lease to 1 year or 10k miles, whichever comes first is the end of the lease. That way they would ensure more would actually get driven and simultaneously give buyers that actually want to drive the car a way out of an expensive lease.
I was serious about getting one, and have a great relationship with my dealer. I'd slap winter tires on it and use it all year, even in the snow. I expected it to cost less than a GT3RS because.. Duh! Then it ended up costing 100 grand more. A bit greedy Porsche?
You sound like someone that scored Margot Robbie to be your wife and now you are lusting after the latest supermodel. Not to be critical, but the majority of us could never afford to buy a Touring and you have to be thrilled of your purchase. In life there will always be something better around the corner. If all things are equal you have to ask yourself, would you have or been able to pony up the extra $150K over your car had the two been available? Your Touring is an awesome car, is the ST 80% better than your car (which it cost)? or is it 20-40% better in which case you are further ahead. Think of the extra car(s) you could buy for the extra $150K and I don't think any car is worth over $300K as you will be a nutcase worrying about it every second of the day. Enjoy your purchase and the decision you made, the colour combo is first class. I could only dream of owning a car like that, I have to be content of driving my C300 Wagon though I wish I could have bought a C43 version
Beautiful cars - especially the paint on your own - but yuk - the ipad type screen on the dashboard - the multi-coloured background makes it look like a child's toy in the middle of all that classy desighn and lovely leather. Surely a black background would be more appropriate?
On the subject of goosing the public, I just don't get how you can get away with removing cost from the car, then simply tuning it (most of which would have already been done during initial development of the platform) and then charging orders of magnitude more for it because it will only appeal to a limited number of enthusiast drivers, of whom Porsche did a count of, and so builds just enough of them to drive up the demand under the guise of exclusivity. What a racket. Just as a side note: I drive a C8 Corvette, stopped by the Lambo dealership, dudes happy to see me, took me for a tour of current and classic Lambo's; went to the Porsche dealership, it was empty of customers but filled with sales people, no one came out of their office to talk to me even though they saw me, when they finally did they were not really interested in showing me the cars. Sorry for not wanting to subscribe to the Porsche business model.
Im here waiting for the miami guy with gold chains and an iced out rolex to say “for that money you can buy a ferrari wich is faster” The ST is absolutely a driving work of art
The 911 ST might be the epitomy of Porsche in a historical context. The Macan goes E only and the rest of the line will follow in a couple of years. You are to be envied to get to drive it 🙂!
Amazing car but Porsche lost me with their crazy long wait times and bloated price of a base. I had a new 992 C2S and I seriously don’t get the hype. It didn’t sound great and to me my 991.2 was more fun to drive. Porsche will come back to earth when the Macan and Boxster EV sales falter.
I bought several new Porsches back in the early 2000. Switched to other brands when they started limiting production on their interesting products I.e. GT3. Tried again just a few months ago for a Spyder RS. Got offered allocation to spec’ one if I was to pay $75k over sticker. It’s a great car at $180K, not $250k. Too bad for potential customers and shame on the dealers., Yeah yeah yeah dealers are here to make money, I agree but not to the point where they’re simply robbing customers
This shows you’re a trustworthy reviewer. So many selfishly (albeit sometimes unconsciously) try to maintain the residual on their own investment by giving a dishonest negative review on the competition. See Matt Farah regarding his Spyder, Throttle House ripping G87 M2 right after they bought an OG F87.
This is probably the hardest any of these will get driven, a shame that people like us can only get the standard Touring at best - Porsche should make these available to everyone, for a price. I'll settle for my Carrera T, for now.
I have a 2017 base Carrera. Figured that was enough Porsche. I don’t want a GT3. A GTS would be cool but not necessary. Then this came along. The ST looks like enough schizz to be better than a base 991.2. Too bad the economics are so out of this world.
Hi MotoMan! I understand your frustration with YT algorithm, but keep in mind that using the B** word can penalize you even more by said algorithm. Good luck!
You made us wait a month for the best comparison video of these two fantastic cars. Thank you.
WOW! Thank you!
MM just like Porsche...sandbagging the good stuff. 🏆☺

Welcome back Motoman. We've missed you!
Thank you . . . great to be back . . . Have some good stuff lined up for you guys!
You made the right choice in not getting the carbon roof. Just for aesthetics.
U can probably get carbon roof in body color no? Is this car carbon roof body color? I would get a body color sunroof from the other 992 models put in, it would just make it a better experience
How many ounces does the carbon save over the aluminum one and at what price?, I am guessing the cost per ounce is more than the finest cognac
Glad to see you back. It’s been too long.
Great to be back . . .
Great video as usual. I own a 992 GT3. Hope some of the ST features make it into the next gen GT3. You will indeed be getting more of those . . .
That was a great video. I have a 991.2 Turbo, and love it. Never had the opportunity to try a GT3, and never will be able to try the S/T. My sales rep told me that once you’re in a Turbo, you won’t want to go to any other 911. Any truth to that?
100% correct. The 911 turbo is made for big boys
Great review and Happy New Year!
My dealer doesn’t have any mark up. Everything is at MSRP.
911 is on allocation, you have to wait 3 years for all versions
My dealer in uk London can replace my 992 911 S with a new GTS in only two months and at a discount as 992 point 2 is coming very soon
Thanks motoman, another enjoyable video
Great to see you back MM. What better way than with an ST. Seems to be another great 911 and one starts to think if peak911 will be ever reached. Thank you, Javi . . . and yes, we have shot a lot of cars during the break but there no debate which one we were kicking off season 15 with . . .
Epic episode again, and what a great lane (envoirement) and garage for this line up of cars.....i wanna live there lol. Greetings from Holland.....

Appreciate you, Ben!
that gt3 is so gorgeous.
Great presentation.
Nothing to do with the ST but I have to say, the spec on your GT3 is fantastic. The bright work against the blue is superb.
Thank you!
Awesome video Motoman 🎉
My pleasure!
Now this is going to be a historic reference video. Beautiful scenery too!
WOW! Thank you!

There was SOOOOO much to cover on that car we couldn't do it in just one episode. Cover more in the coming comparison episode however, even the wing detail didn't make it:)
My dream car, with my favorite paint, favorite interior, favorite engine, favorite package, favorite everything….
Same!
I still love your GT3 Touring. 😍😍😍
Me too!
As also a touring owner I’am very happy with my lot ,is the st really worth the extra cost? Aren’t they all sold out ?
Nice place Motoman. 👌 I like the GTs. 💙🩵
Why no mention of how much better the ST rides? This is certainly one of the most notable differences.
It’s not just a forced lease program by Porsche. Most dealers are asking upwards of $250k ADM. I assume they incorporate that into the lease of the car too.
As an added weight saver, is there a porsche option where they will replace me with a carbon fiber version of myself?
This lady has a real clutch ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Is she all wheel drive or just Rear Wheel Drive (RWD)???
Want more content! Would love to see you in tuned cars BUT selective and properly setup. Spec on that ST was choice the saddle brown is gorgeous
You are going to be seeing some more 'non new' special cars in Season 15.

Well true but unless you just have money to burn I am not sure the real value is there! I will however take your word about the experiencebeing worth it!@@MotoManTV
The difference is: a GT 3 will lose value, the S/T will gain value.

While you were being selfish; I thought you were gonna ask Porsche to let you swap out the two.😏 19:41
I did. You could imagine their response.
I love my 991.2 gt3. (My 5th Porsche) But Porsche dealer games are so lame that bought a M3 for my next daily.
Driven both and I don’t think the difference justifies the price delta. A lot of reviews agree. Like the spec and color on GT3 Touring better !
Great review, very excited to pick mine up in June
BMW take noteS - this is how you lightweight a vehicle. Not by removing cupholders on a 4000lb AWD sedan (looking at your M3 CS).
Agreed.
Nice car

Quite a dream garage: Pagoda, GT3 Touring and ST 🤤
Visually beautiful video of a beautiful car. Motoman is the most skilled auto reviewer on TH-cam.
Thank you, Jim . . . you will see her again in Santa Paula!
Rather than doing a 1 year lease, Porsche could require a 1 year escrow of $100,000 or 50% of the value that would be forfeited if the car is sold early.
Would totally agree to that.
I love the lease idea.
Dream car
Nice house!
Great perspective from a GT3 touring owner George
Thank you!

All GT3 are RWD but I'm curious if they make it a 4x4?
Nice IWC Pilot ref 3717. Car isn’t bad either.
The ST is a purest vehicle and the GT3 RS Touring is just more civil. There are no bad choices here
Could you have actually gotten an allocation for an S/T?
I asked but . . .
@@MotoManTV Matt Farah asked too and it went just as well LOL :(
Lotus is an IKEA vehicle, it come in boxes and you will always end up with extra partsss, so throw the parts in the engine
From 911GT3RS to 911ST, έλα τώρα! 🫤
I can't hear the word pedantic without thinking of Jim carrey in liar liar 😆
how does the roll cage look in person? I just can't get over what looks like a terrible design but have never seen one in person. Great in depth info our leasing. You bring more to the table than others which is why I'm a fan.
The roll cage is one of those things that is very personal. I am not a huge fan but a couple of friends of mine who saw the car in person loved it. A great example beauty is in the eye of the beholder . . .
What is the deal with the 928 that has the 1976 license plate?
A friend's car. A bit behind the scenes: He came to visit when I happen to have that car for a special annual cruise in we do each year - had to include that clip because I love his car . . . and yes, it has the Pasha interior.
❤❤❤❤
What watch is that. You moved too quickly, but it looked like an IWC chrono?
IWC Pilot 41 with a Goodwood Green dial
@@MotoManTV Thank you.
Too expensive and exclusive to enjoy driving it IMO. Great car though.
You should be way bigger of a channel than you are. Your content is so much better than the Smoking Tire.
Thank you for your vote of confidence.
And once again, keen eye . . . you have seen that Pagoda AND Gullwing before . . .

Special circumstances resulted in a special review… and a well done one!
Thanks for the efforts and insights!
Greatly appreciate you noticing . . .
You are not helping me avoid my Porsche phase. Great review. Porsche is at the top of their game and growing.

I doubt that the one year lease it's going to make a difference. They're still going to flip them after that. Here in Canada, the Sport Classic sells for over 300k over MSRP which is insane.
For that kind of money, I'd rather get an F8 Tributo which is in a different league and keep the change.
I thought charging over sticker is illegal in Canada
No at some point those Canucks found capitalism. @@theloopholeisntaahol
Why so many built?
It corresponds to the year in which the 911 was first built. If Jesus drove a 911 it just might be a one off. 🤣
I was serious about getting one, and have a great relationship with my dealer. I'd slap winter tires on it and use it all year, even in the snow. I expected it to cost less than a GT3RS because.. Duh! Then it ended up costing 100 grand more. A bit greedy Porsche?
Yeah, Porsche can really put the polish on a design if you stack the money high enough. It's a peach though, based on the reviews.
GT3 Touring*
Beautiful cars. One must be a member of Skull and Bones; or a TH-cam influencer to own one
Usually, but some dealers gave their allocations to enthusiasts instead of the highest bidder/best customer
How did you find out I was a member of Skulls & Bones . . . :)

Beautiful cars - especially the paint on your own - but yuk - the ipad type screen on the dashboard - the multi-coloured background makes it look like a child's toy in the middle of all that classy desighn and lovely leather. Surely a black background would be more appropriate?
That’s Apple CarPlay. You can avoid that.
Share, oh why? So I can trade up to the 911ST. 🤤
Make no mistake, dealers will sell you an S/T at list; PROVIDED you trade in either a GT3 or GT3RS at a 100k loss.
So you want one?
Sadly, yes.
Im here waiting for the miami guy with gold chains and an iced out rolex to say “for that money you can buy a ferrari wich is faster”
The ST is absolutely a driving work of art
:)
The 911 ST might be the epitomy of Porsche in a historical context. The Macan goes E only and the rest of the line will follow in a couple of years. You are to be envied to get to drive it 🙂!
Good point, Mac!
Do you know what does the United States requires Porsche to remove from this magnificent lady before entering into the States??????
I bought several new Porsches back in the early 2000. Switched to other brands when they started limiting production on their interesting products I.e. GT3. Tried again just a few months ago for a Spyder RS. Got offered allocation to spec’ one if I was to pay $75k over sticker. It’s a great car at $180K, not $250k. Too bad for potential customers and shame on the dealers., Yeah yeah yeah dealers are here to make money, I agree but not to the point where they’re simply robbing customers
Porsche dealers in London U.K. are discounting all new 992 point 1 even GTS and GT3. 992 point two on the way
❤❤❤❤ She is built to race in a rally, that was the main purpose of her birth, not to be driven by clowns.... The wind 🍃🌬️🍃🌬️ runs away from her ❤❤❤❤❤
This shows you’re a trustworthy reviewer. So many selfishly (albeit sometimes unconsciously) try to maintain the residual on their own investment by giving a dishonest negative review on the competition. See Matt Farah regarding his Spyder, Throttle House ripping G87 M2 right after they bought an OG F87.
I wouldn't waste my time or $$$$$$ to have one to own and drive, no light weighting and a manual....
This is probably the hardest any of these will get driven, a shame that people like us can only get the standard Touring at best - Porsche should make these available to everyone, for a price. I'll settle for my Carrera T, for now.
Great car you have . . .
I have a 2017 base Carrera. Figured that was enough Porsche. I don’t want a GT3. A GTS would be cool but not necessary. Then this came along. The ST looks like enough schizz to be better than a base 991.2. Too bad the economics are so out of this world.
Baja 1000 should aloud Porsche Ladies to be driven in that race road as well ... Not sure why Mexico has changed their mind about this??????
Your title is WRONG they don’t make GT3 RS TOURING. Only GT3 touring
Hi MotoMan! I understand your frustration with YT algorithm, but keep in mind that using the B** word can penalize you even more by said algorithm. Good luck!
My patience with how YT picks winners and losers by varying aspects is gone.
A two hundred pound C#%&P on your doorstep, you can smell the pain !
IT IS A RS Touring !!!!!!!!!!!!
992s are too big and too expensive. 2 nice looking cars. I wonder if you can get a gt3 without the hideous nostril hood.
No its not, its mainly marketing lol.
