As an S23 Ultra user, i am impressed with what Samsung has done in a year. My mom just bought one after her 14PM broke and she has been blown away by the phone so far.
Having had this phone and used it for the past 24hrs, it's awesome, the flat screen is amazing, the translate works great, and everything just feels great.
I have the Samsung Galaxy S23, and today, March 28th, I also received the Galaxy AI. It is quite entertaining, and I am currently exploring all of its features. I am thoroughly enjoying it!
For the dark mode, I really hope they add the possibility to have it black again. Half the point was that it utilizes the AMOLED capabilities by completely turning the LED's off, and thus, saves a ton of battery.
It blows my mind just seeing how smooth and seamless this phone feels, especially the AI things that find whats on your screen so fast that it feels so natural
I've been testing it, and honestly believe the only reason it doesn't come with a pre-applied screen protector is because it would instantly reduce the effects of the glass and cause glare. I also thought they could use the 40€ anti-reflection protector they're selling, but you just need to see the reviews of people who bought to get why they don't.
Just updated from an Samsung S9 to an S24 Ultra. Received it in the mail yesterday and patiently waiting to set it up Friday on my day off.. the anticipation is killing me!
I have to say, congratulations on holding off buying a new phone for that long. Every year I'm doing university level maths to figure out if upgrading is worth it
@@TheMissiIe this is my first top of the line brand new phone since the HTC One. I've been getting unlocked ones 2-3 years old for a long time. Finally decided to treat myself and the wife especially since the updates are for so long. Can't wait to use it as a web cam in my videos and streams too. Ones I have now SUCK for quality lol
After 7 years, I'm still getting security updates on my old Samsung Galaxy phone, and a 7-year OS upgrade is value for money in itself. Thanks, Samsung.
I got mine on day 1 of launch and WOW, this display is out of this world. I am coming from a small S23 and I'm blown away. Couldn't be more happy with this phone and can't recommend it enough. If you can get a good pre sale deal which included trade ins, it's an easy recommendation.
Do you actually think it's worth upgrading to a new phone every year? Especially because it's all AI and it's not going to make it better and only faster?
@@death244no imo it just stupid to upgrade it every year considering these things are built to use atleast 3 years and for some users (like me) people also have their sentiments attached to their phones so upgrading each year is a no for me
@@death244 It depends on the individual. The S23 series is still fantastic and should last for many more years. I don't typically buy things for myself and this was a treat for my birthday. What Samsung does so well is their pre sale offers are really hard to beat. The trade in, plus storage upgrade plus $100 e-voucher I got here in Canada. Took $990 off the phone. If I had an S23 Ultra it would have been $1,100 off the phone. I wouldn't recommend paying full price as it's very expensive.
just upgraded from a note 20 to this due to the port on my old phone completely breaking down, didnt even know about any of these features but holy moly im happy now
@@anthonynugget701 yes, they all look new. I buy them all otter boxes and clean them out once a week. I’m very carful because I don’t like spending money for repairs.
@Liachu_ thanks a lot. I've got the S23 ultra as well, but I just want to see what the difference btw the S23U and S24U will look like 6 months in considering most of the stuff this year are all software based. So it'll be interesting to see what trickles down to the S23 lineup and how they hold up their own against the S24 lineup.
I think with the gen 3 chip it will definitely be a more stable user experience when more UI updates come out but as of now, I think the S23U is still a great purchase for a few years
I think that’s what he’s getting at is the fact that out of the box, Samsung never impresses versus iPhone out of the box, works and functions very well
@@xXHACKRCHILDXx what do you mean they need to sort them out? I literally just ordered a s24 ultra with the watch 6 in 40 mm since there is a nice offer where you can buy both in a bundle for pretty cheap where the watch is free essentially. So whats wrong with the watch?
@@baadlyrics8705 they are generations behind apples offerings. And that’s an objective opinion from a technical standpoint in terms of health features offered, battery life, build quality and performance.

17:33 Here's one more example. A few days ago, I found a huge, scary looking spider on the bushes, next to my car. I wanted to know more about the spider, so I took a picture, circled, and boom. I want to say I'm not afraid anymore, but at least now I know it's not poisonous 😅 Yes, you could do this with an old phone, but it requires more time to complete the steps and find what you're actually looking for.
I’m an iPhone user and have been for a while (currently using a 14 Pro), but I always like to see what Samsung does. I have a lot of respect for them and their phones are always tempting in more than one way. This phone looks pretty damn good to me
iPhone 15 Pro Max: $1199 - it incurs development costs for the hardware, OS, iCloud, data centers maintenance, the App Store & other services, apps developed for iPhone, Webkit, Swift, and so on. Samsung S24 Ultra: $1299 - they have significantly lower costs because Google & Qualcomm supports 80% of them. No need to mention that on iPhone, you enjoy better optimized & designed apps, consistent performance for all users (Samsung is the only company selling 3 different processors with 3 different performances), and, most importantly, you receive OS updates on time, the very minute they are launched, not after a few months! The iPhone and Google Pixel are the only phones that truly justify their price.
@@You-yw9qp I’m using an iPhone, but it’s just the psychology of those people. It’s narcissism. When I read “I’m an iPhone user, but bla-bla-bla”, I understand “I’m so special and so open minded I still compliment Samsung users despite being on the opposite side, give me likes please” and I picture the dude trying to lick his own balls.
Just got my S24+ yesterday, upgraded from S22. It's been gerat so far, the software feels so smooth compared to the S22, and the battery life feels significantly better on the S24 even when using QHD resolution and 120hz. My data signal is actually great and works just fine. One thing that i've noticed that the phone actually feels colder in my hand over something like S22.
A well-organized review as always even though I can argue that many people actually still enjoy holding and using the base S24. I have tested the smaller S24 on my channel running the new Exynos, Temps, and Battery drain, and I dare to say that even the base variants this year is impressive, Feel free to check out the numbers for yourself.
“Titanium is only applied on the device frame. Frame does not include volume and side keys.” 🤣 Galaxy AI is just Samsung’s cheap marketing; it doesn’t actually exist. Samsung uses Google Gemini and Google Cloud with features developed by Google.
well then i guess most phone phones don't exist since they buy parts from other companies like samsung, so phones are just cheap marketing including apple, well infact 90% if not 100% percent of things on earth don't exists according to your analogy@@dominic7012
Great review. For the record, the stronger glass isn't measured by surface scratches. Before you ask, I used to build secondary focusing mirrors for telescopes when I was younger, and I know a decent amount about glass. Nearly every item you buy that has glass in it has a coating, and that is what is scratching. The increased strength is more about impact resistance. The coatings are what provide things like fingerprint resistance, reduced glare etc.
The Corning Gorilla Armor glass is not a anti-reflective coating, it is baked into the glass. Since I used my phone outdoors quite a lot have this is a game changer for me
@Mrwhosetheboss unfortunately they all make this claim. I think the more important thing about the Samsung panel is that anti-reflective properties are a game-changer IMHO!
Other channels actually tested the scratch resistance. It is actually considerably better than other phones. But glass is still glass lol@@Mrwhosetheboss
@gx_pro2277 don't boss thats how they brainwash you. Your phone has 7 years of support my guy that bad boy is here to stay. literally a slab of vibranium in a phone.
I gotta say man....i just tried out that summarization thing and that is insanely helpful. I did a speech to text on notes of a 10 minute youtube video on sleep and summarized it into a 3 page document that lays out everything i needed to know from that video. Wow that is so awesome! Only downside was 1 i had to hit record a second time halfway through and 2 same went with the summarization. It did half and had to do the second half seperately. Im sure theres a setting involved but this is one of the coolest things about this s24 ultra (that and the aod wallpaper.....insane!)
I just ordered my s24 ultra coming from a Note 9, its lasted me years and finally the battery is starting to show signs. The only issue I ever encountered was my S-Pen randomly makes the noise its been lost but only had done it maybe 10 times in 5 years. Looking forward to this new one!
The zooming in to something you want to see without getting up from your spot is so funny. I've done that when I've been out and about with my 21 Ultra with signs on a business door because I wanted to know if the sign was telling me they were closed without getting out of my car lmao
Oh yeah I went from s22u to s23u and I'm constantly using the camera to zoom to see far away stuff, especially when traveling. Idk how apple can claim to have the best camera when they don't even have a native 10x lens, which is honestly so useful in daily life. As opposed to s pen, which I thought I would use all the time...but not really. Maybe people that work in different careers or had different habits to be would find it more useful
Just replaced my iPhone (I am a long term die hard apple fan) to this phone and honestly I'm blown away and absolutely love it. We will see how time takes its toll, but I don't think I'll be switching back anytime soon
The reason for Spen being on left side now is because of the power and volume buttons requiring their space. Earlier notes used to have the Spen on right side but buttons on the left side.
Thank you for bringing attention to and calling out Samsung for charging for feature sets. I don't like that direction either, and I hope with your help, Samsung hears this. Also, this may be this first phone I try emulation on, so it's cool to see you implement it!
This S24 Ultra is an absolute beast. I did not expect much difference switching from an S22 plus but damn. It amazes me every day how much they have improved their phones in all sorts of ways.
You don't notice how the screen and colors are completely dull and washed out compared to your S22 ultra? Mine is and plenty of people complaining online about it too.
@@stripe5975 Matte finishes on screens (something needed for anti-glare) will cause color variation compared to a glossy screen that some people won't be used to or like
i've got an S21 Ultra and i'm debating on finally upgrading, mainly for a more powerful CPU because I use Samsung Dex to run multiple apps at the same time.
REAL!! made the switch from the s22 ultra to the s24 ultra a few days ago and there are still so MANY noticeable (and great!) differences!! safe to say i'm hooked
I’ve always thought your videos were brilliant, but it just hit me again when I heard the music choices when Arun started talking about gaming at 22:11 and the retro gaming riffs came on.
The only one I found that could replace my iPhone is the Pixel 8 Pro. I didn't find the same problems with it that I find with Android smartphones. The voice command works perfectly (unlike other Androids where, for some reason, I can never get the voice command to work on the Gboard keyboard). Plus, when setting up a new phone, you can have an exact copy of your old Pixel, just like you do with a new iPhone. This isn't the case with Samsung, etc., where you have to put all the apps back into folders again, reorganize your folders, etc. In the end, I found the photo and video quality to be less good than on the iPhone, so I kept my iPhone 15 Pro Max and returned the Pixel. But now, I'm looking forward to the Pixel 9 Pro XL. I'll be very happy to see Google reclaim its crown as the king of photography. They have the means and the talent; I don't know what's missing for them to achieve it. Having a disability, voice command allows me to write very quickly without getting exhausted, so for me, it's essential. Moreover, I don't understand why, when copying data from an old Android smartphone to a new one, you don't get an exact copy of what you had on the old one. You have to reorganize everything, recreate folders from scratch, etc. It's a basic feature, and Android is advanced enough to have this kind of functionality. I'll never understand.
Upgraded from an S21+ to this S24 Ultra last May 2024. Loving the camera and other features from my old phone. Will keep this for 3 years like my last phone.
Currently using the S24 Ultra and can say the signal is a location thing as mine is always at 4 bars. Its a great phone as I'm switching from the 13PM, its a great phone and 100% recommend it. PS Apparently Insta and Snap are going to be optimised to be able to take full advantage of Samsung's native camera features but I'm not sure when.
@unspecialist can't film anything decent with a 2014 phone though 😅 and also the editing requires alot of hardware power to run the editing software so yeah I dono what phone your talking about but i was filming and editing videos with a new phone and it didn't love it
I switched from Samsung to iPhone around 5 years ago. All I can say is the iPhone just works perfectly out of the box and the OS is really pleasing and professional to look at, everything in the OS just works.
My mother is in the same boat here, She went from a Galaxy Note 9 (Exynos) to the S24 Ultra the S-Pen is a must for her and boy oh boy is it a Massive difference she's feeling
hmm, i m not sure, as many years ago, i bought the newest samsung galaxy s4, and after a year, the phone lag like hell..... since then no more samsung for me. I wonder if current samsung phones are better
Still rocking my s21 ultra and I still love it 3 years later so i won't be upgrading this year unless the Z Fold 6 literally blows me away. Whatever my next phone is, it will be another Samsung galaxy ultra or a z fold. After almost 20 years of Samsung phones (there was 1 LG in there years ago but lets not go there) i would say im definitely brand loyal. I'll nevwr own and iPhone. Nice review Arun 👍
I’ve always used iPhone, but october 2022 i bought a Z Flip 4 but i still kept my iPhone 11 pro max as a «work phone». It took four months or so and to this day i only use my iPhone, I use my Flip 4 as an alarm clock in the morning 🤷🏽♂️
I am early into the video, but I can confirm. I used to think iPhones felt a little smother when I got my S22 Ultra, but with this new one UI 6.0 update, my phone genuinely feels 3 generations newer and fresh out of the box. i have no idea how they did it, but it feels so much smoother than even the top of the line iPhones I have felt now. Everything is absurdly responsive, and high refresh, and bouncy, tight, elastic, sharp, everything. Easily the best android update I have ever gotten on any phone ever.
It's video quality like this that makes it very hard for a samsung user like me to justify how samsung's flagship is even comparable to iphone let alone being better.
For years I have watched the review videos of flagships phone and it feels so good to watch this one on my first flagship! Hoping for a wonderful experience with the Galaxy S24 Ultra 🤞🏽 Update: My phone was stolen on 10th Feb in a Delhi Metro. I guess it was too soon for me to get a flagship. Maybe next year 😔
About to finally upgrade. Hows the signal for you? Because that is a dealbreaker for me. In fact the total lack of signal is why I'm finally replacing my s7!
I've had mine since Feb 2024 and I love it! I use dex when the wife is using my media PC to watch TH-camTV. My desk monitor is a smart TV and connects wirelessly! I no longer use my laptop because the S24 Ultra is faster! A Bluetooth Keyboard & mouse make this a real computer! The only problem is the sound level, it is not loud enough even on speaker. There is no way to raise the volume to an acceptable level. The windowing and pen control are great. This blows away my daughters IPhone, she wants one but is still paying for her IPhone. The hotspot works, I've had to let my sister use my Ultra twice when her internet went out. My phone connected three Smart TV's to the net, twice! Her IPhone hotspot didn't work, she couldn't connect to it after an hour of fighting with it. The camera is way better then anything I have ever used!
Ever since the iPhone Magsafe, there has been magsafe compatible cases for Android phones. They are also available for the S24Ultra. Makes charging much more convenient, they even work on an angle.
@@mike309saa That would true but it's actually just metallic so doesn't affect the S-Pen. I have experienced this before on a Note3 case taking it back to Samsung repair only to find it worked perfectly fine without the case with a magnetic clasp.
Maybe some don't or I've not noticed. Some massage rings may only be the metallic part so magnets are on the stand and case isn't magnetised during normal use. When I test for magnet effect the part of the screen under the magnet becomes unresponsive to the s-pen. I just tested my case, s-pen worked everwhere.
I have never had any other phone than a Samsung. I have looked and tested others but have always stayed with Samsung. At the moment, l have the 21+ and was waiting for a big upgrade, and this seems to be it. I was always put off by some of the snobbery that comes with some iPhone users. Your reviews are always SO thorough, including really simple things to more technical stuff that goes over my head, lol, but is still really interesting. I now have a much deeper knowledge of phones thanks to you. Your reviews are honest, fair, personal and always entertaining. As l have a wide taste in music, the bass is only one component and phones with louder bass is more of a put off. For me, the iPhone music quality has always been lacking. When spending well over a £1000 on a device we use everyday, your reviews are essential to many of us. You are one of thee best content creators out there and you truly do " influence " people's choices in a very positive way. Thank you for keeping it real. I know it's maybe not in your area of expertise but l would love you to do a piece on music players. I know most people use their phones but some of us more mature users like our music to sound better. I am thinking of upgrading my A&K and would love to hear your thoughts on the others available on the market. Thanks.
Can i ask you what is your opinion then on samsung putting the features that come with s24 ultra for free, behind a paywall in some time? Or you kinda missed that part? Do you think this is a good practice? You pay for your device with the things you can use, and then afterwards when you have already spent 1,5K on a phone, you have to pay again to have the same features. For me personally, that is a crapy move, as Arun says as well.
Not sure if your perception of "snobbery " isn't just self-imposed. Everyone these days has an iPhone! I see homeless people with them all the time. Nothing to be "snobbery" about that! But, if one really thinks that a phone will make them feel special, then the Samsung Fold at $2000 is the most premium phone in America!
@Mark-de4hj I am a iphone user and I can also admit Lot of iphone users are snobs and its always a problem when someone else is using android like their in kindergarten or something 😂
@danielvargo4498 Well, OBVIOUSLY, you'd have to be someone with teeny tiny braincells to think like that, especially since Samsung started the large and in charge phone craze. No smart person actually think that your choice of phones make you special! lol But if I REALLY need to believe that a stupid phone was gonna make me cool, I'd go with the exclusive Samsung Fold with It's $2000 price tag rather than an IPhone that everyone else has.
Arun is completely dedicated to his job. He pumps out videos super fast. You’re the best, man! But also make sure you’re taking care of your health! Don’t want to go through that phase again 😬
I feel like this is samsungs best, hopefully the fold won't disappoint this year coz if it still retains the same set of cameras and does not include the 200mp or the 5x then most likely it's a no buy. That being said, I'm trading in my s23 ultra for this and I'm ready to be blown away. I've watched almost all the youtubers reviews even watched it in different language and I'm convinced I'm getting this! The screen alone with the 2600 peak brightness and anti reflection is an instant buy for me. Now I'll be able to shoot easier on the beach and wherever.
You're right. I have the Fold 4, I love it, but because of the cameras, I ended up using it the S23 Ultra instead. Now, I use the Fold as a tablet. I didn't think that the camera difference would be so obvious, even for the main sensor...
I literally just submitted my order for the S24U. Went with the “amber” whatever bc I want something that reminds me of the brass/gold under those warm-ass lights in old Victorian parlors near the old piano (assuming there is one… ours is under the stairs. I’m gonna start calling it “Potter”). To add, I went from an iPhone 3GS to a little LG smartphone, to a Samsung S3, then Note 4, S8, iPhone 11, S21, 15Pro, and now back to the S24 Ultra. I like both systems for the things that they each offer, and I reckon am a bit of a tech nerd. So, I don’t rule out checking out each system when something big comes along to catch my attention, but I’ll say that buying from Samsung directly for my S21 and S24U is absolutely the way to go. Trading them my iPhones have gotten me _so_ much off my purchase. Can’t recommend enough. The S-pen being on the left is a nice change… but I’m left-handed! 😅 It was awkward as hell for me as a lefty to get it from the right side of my Note4. So, I totally get the frustration.
It's good to finally see emulation getting a nod from big review channels. Should touch on it a bit more though. It doesn't stop at PS2. You got PSP, 3DS, Vita, Switch, GameCube, Wii, and now Windows.
As a lifelong Android user (55 years old)I am absolutely positively going to get the iPhone 16 Pro Max comes September or maybe the 15 Pro Max... I've never owned an iPhone & I'm so excited to be picking up one in 2 months
It's good to switch things up occasionally. Had an iPhone for 5 years and came to absolutely hate it due to its closed-down nature and backwards approach to file system. It made me appreciate having the freedom of an Android system so much more.
The fact that Aarun literally and aggressively went into the S24 looking for flaws and came up with the ones he did tells me one thing- The S24 ultra is by far the best phone made by man so far. Id definitely get the S24 ultra
sure, maybe if your choice is just between Samdung, Google or Apple. I'm glad that I'm not as narrow minded as you and that I gave other brands a chance. Enjoy your useless "Galaxy AI" gimmicks boyo.
A lot of tech youtuber want to diss this Galaxy, they search for negative sides so much, but they can't find. They all use a MacBook Pro and Apple Watch so they just want to talk about Apple Ecosystem. Problem: this phone is too good. Sorry guys, S23 Ultra, S24 Ultra : 👑
Went from the S22 Ultra to the S24 Ultra. Battery life is better, other than gaming it doesn't get hot at all, camera is about the same? (Not much of a camera nerd, it looks good) The screen is amazing, the anti glare coating is perfect, and I prefer the flat screen. OneUI 6.1 is an upgrade in every way from the previous version my S22U was still on. Very pleased
But the colors of the S24U are, compared to the S22U, washed out and flat. If you switch between "Vivid" and "Neutral" in the settings, there is no difference. I hope this is a SW-Bug and Samsung will fix it in the next update. There is also a long thread about this in the Samsung forum. I have a S22U and S24U here and I like the S22U screen more because of the stronger colors.
Same here. I'm loving my s24u. Main reasons for upgrading for me were flat screen, a chance to get more storage and ram, and ofc the AI stuff is pretty cool. Also they had the yellow option and I'm loving it.
I’m not gonna lie, I’m not a fan of the annual release of smartphones, but you’ve made me come around to loving this new one. Samsung never stops pushing boundaries. This is a, pretty, impressive phone🤔 And thank you for pointing out all the things you didn’t like about it, as well. It’s really something to marvel at, overall 👍🏾
@@yftinthyn007 I get that, but at some point this becomes the reason these phones become more expensive. I think the upgrades would be greatly felt, with more people enjoying them if these companies took breaks in between releases. They drove up prices so much that these have become luxuries instead of iterative improvements that users can appreciate, imo
@@clivematthews95 they aren't really luxuries when you consider that it's a device that you use every single day. I really don't get the complaints around price if I'm being honest. @@yftinthyn007 the price keeps going up, your argument doesn’t hold up when you realize that phones have always been daily-use devices, but recently they’re just unreasonably priced and the prices continue to go up If the companies focused on innovation and adaptation the prices wouldn’t be so out of reach for most people
im an iphone user and agree on the dark mode sometimes looking "too dark" and also dimensionless, while the icons are very colorful, sometimes it looks a little too much. would love an updated dark mode here too where they make the black into a dark grey. some apps do it themselves and it looks way better and creates a better overall visual harmony
So the update OS update making the old phones closer to the new one is negated by a sudden constant connectivity issue with my S 22 ultra. Wonder if it was done on purpose. No issues till about 2 months ago.
3:55 he said that this is the first Samsung phone he considers gorgeous right out of the box!?!? Whoa, buddy, that's a crazy bold statement to make. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus are all stunningly gorgeous phones as well. I can't believe the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is the only one you think looks good right out of the box. I mean its beautiful no doubt about it but it has the same form factor as it's last two predecessors so that's a wild opinion.
7:05 _"There's no doubt that Face scanning is the automatic alternative to finger scanning, it's the future.."_ Hard disagree! I want fingerprint scanning and absolutely not face scanning and i know that i certainly am not the only one. I work in a factory and face scanning would not work anyway because of the face covers. @@LeoStep93 1) Magsafe - I also came from an iPhone to this phone(iPhone13PM to this), But i never used magsafe accessories in the first place, so i do not find it a downgrade 2) Face-scan - Samsung's approach towards it is not the same as Apple...So i do not believe it is something that's a "gaping hole"... Also, Fingerprint scanner is amazingly fast 3) Signal Strength - I get full bar almost all the time with proper 5G connectivity 4) Majority that would buy this phone wouldn't be coming from S23U or iP15PM, So Camera is gonna be really big upgrade for most people
Audio quality was a big big disappointment coming from LG, even compared to Sony and Asus. I returned my ultra. iPhone 15 is better on wired, truebit audio works properly meaning wired is better and there’s a jump f on previous iPhones. I keep hoping Samsung and Google will step into audio quality-half decent at least.
4:56 you know what's really cool? try swiping down from the top with 2 fingers, that saves you an extra swipe you would normally have to do to get to those video effects :)
While fooling around with the settings. I realized that if you click the pencil button next to the power button in the menu. You can edit many things about the menu, including making the drop down menu similar to iPhone. Where if you swipe on the right side it gives you control panel and left side gives you notifications.
I remeber back in 2012-2016 when both Apple and Samsung would come out with cool new features and I would hop from one to the other....now it's the same old thing on both sides
Screen scratch resistance has fallen away for the past 3 generations. I treat my devices with the utmost respect and have only ever somehow scratched the screen with these more recent versions of gorilla glass. 100% agree Samsung should have leaned more into marketing the anti-reflectiveness. Great feature! Unfortunately, everything else is either irrelevant to me, a 50/50 call whether it's an upgrade/downgrade, or coming to previous phones so I still don't see any compelling reason to even consider upgrading from last year (and I'm a Samsung enthusiast that has tried almost every S/Note series for the past 10 years). Writing off AI for the time being. You're essentially paying more for this years phone to beta test AI and provide them with the data to (hopefully) fix it, at which point they'll charge you a subscription fee to use going forward. Scummy.
People honestly really shouldn't be upgrading year after year. I love getting my hands on new tech, but even I wait to upgrade my phone, if I were you, I would honestly hold onto your phone for at least another year.
@Dwivil I'm upgrading to the s24 ultra, I have had my s20 since it was released in March 2020 and it's starting to show, the battery life is dreadful, the speakers are deteriorating, and it freezes ALOT, even after having the phone wiped back to new. So I am hoping the s24 will be a nice upgrade
@@MR_G92if you don't mind me asking, what do you do with your phone to make it die that quick? I used my old S8 on battery safer for 3 years to prolong the inevitable. The battery was at 83% health according to battery health apps. The only reason I finally upgraded was my USB C port wearing out.
It may have only taken 4 years but we finally got him back to team green! It crazy the improvements being made on samsung and I can't wait to see what the future holds.

I was wondering how "extremely careful" would make it have those scratches you pointed out but when you exemplified how you can't charge it on a magsafe charger I understood your definition of extremely careful and in that case I treat my phone with super mega extra double triple care , I handle it as if was made of thin glass
Having recently upgraded to the 24 ultra it's definitely a big step in the right direction for Samsung but the signal issues are shocking. I'm sat on 1 bar or no bars most of the time, even when out and about and it seems that this isn't an isolated issue either. Surely if Arun has commented on this then Samsung should be aware and if not then his influence should be used to improve this side of the experience as a simple Google search shows just how bad the signal is in general on this device.
I just switched from iphone12 to s24 plus and im absolutely loving it. With the iphone it always feels like theres a little bit of loading time when you first launch an app, especially google apps or big documents. I experienced the same thing on the new pro iphones so I didnt feel like upgrading. but the s24 plus is finally a phone that feels fluid and loads stuff faster than I can think lol
If you're new to android and want the phone to behave even faster, reduce the animation settings to 0.5x. Search "build number" on settings and tap it 7 times to unlock developer mode. Then go in to develop mode and you'll find three settings, reduce them to 0.5x. Sincerely, a long term android fanboy and s23u owner.
@@robmalcolm8042 yeah exactly why I don't like iPhone. The annoying animations take forever. Android is so snappy, especially the flagship Samsung's and pixel line.
One of the main improvement which I noticed coming from the s23 ultra is the face recognition software. It’s very accurate now, much better than before. I also thought that having a flat screen now would mean I can easily put tempered screen protector but alas it messes with the fingerprint sensor. The software tries very hard to emulate ios. It has the wallpaper on the always on display now. The widgets look very similar to ios( the ones on the lock screen) The photos on iPhone 15 plus is better though. The Cameras are larger so much that I have mistakenly covered the lenses with my finger more than once. This hasn’t happened before with my s22 u or s23 u . It is also much easier to handle without any case much more than before. It is because the sides are a bit broader or box shaped like the iPhone. Unfortunately for me the battery isn’t so great. After charging to full at 7 a.m by 7 p.m in the evening it comes down to 30% This is with uhd screen resolution, 120hz scrolling, always on display with wallpaper effect on.There….unfiltered points which you won’t get anywhere.
Yeah tempered glass screen protectors dont work with ultrassonic fingerprint sensors, you have to use the soft screen protectors like the ones Samsung makes.
@@APOWER385I am having issues with the fingerprint scanner because of the tempered glass. Waiting for a screen protector. Meanwhile the face recognition is a life saver, better than s23u. I have a iPhone 15 plus, so I know it’s not as fast as that but with just a punch hole it’s working fine even in a dark room for me at least.
Your battery life claims are just straight up wrong. This is the BEST battery life I have ever had on a phone ever. 10-11 hours of screen on time before I hit 5% left is wild. "This is with uhd screen resolution, 120hz scrolling, always on display with wallpaper effect on" There is your issue lmao Switch it back to the FHD+ setting that it ships with (You cannot notice a difference even with video playback), and turn off the terrible always on display wallpaper effect. It's useless and defeats the purpose of the always on display by wasting extra power and showcasing a dimmer version of your wallpaper. Just use the always on display as intended by only displaying the clock and notifications. Switching those two things will easily give you have extra 2 to 3 hours of screen on time battery life.
Samsung only allowing the AI features to be free for 2 years really disappointed me as a Samsung fan. I am not on board at all for them doing that they definitely should've waited till it could've supported itself and not having people pay monthly. Personally a big L from Samsung
@@_Parth_Mishra_OP is saying that MKBHD failed to mention that the AI features are free until the end of 2025. And I agree that leaving information out like that from a top tech reviewer is egregious.
It's a screen downgrade though. Online testers in Asia have shown the DCI P3 dropped to 83%. It's a lower-level screen than last year's Galaxy s23 Ultra. A real disappointment. Look at them side by side and you'll see the washed out colors on the new model. You're receiving a lot less color information for your eyes to process.
Thanks for the great reviews. You commented on the cell reception and for someone living in an area with a very week signal it has me a little worried. Would you consider doing a video on which phones get the best cell reception. I know that there are a lot of variables but your opinion would be very valuable to someone like myself.
I suspect the answer to this will be; yes and no. Read a story about a customer who had the phone store guy test transmission strength on 3 phones and one was weak, one was middling, and one was a blowtorch. Given the hundreds of components and the fact that each one of those components may be plus or minus 5% of whatever voltage it is they're supposed to be using, that adds up to an almost infinitely complex problem to solve. It's kind of a miracle that Smartphones work at all so given all that I would say the best thing you can do is have them test three phones for you and pick the one that's the strongest. If he were to recommend a smartphone with where that model has a strong transmission strength, you would still be subject to the same problem of figuring out whether that particular handset had good transmission strength or not electronics are variable just like anything else the more expensive components are less variable, but they're still variable.
I got my S24 Ultra yesterday, did the Samsung smartswitch, been using it nonstop and wow. Cameras are much better than my S22 Ultra, takes pictures much faster, the phone is lightning quick.

It'll likely mess up the S-pen working right though.
@@mike309saa That would true but it's actually just metallic so doesn't affect the S-Pen. I have experienced this before on a Note3 case taking it back to Samsung repair only to find it worked perfectly fine without the case with a magnetic clasp.

@@easypzee It DOES affect the spen.

Having recently upgraded to the 24 ultra it's definitely a big step in the right direction for Samsung but the signal issues are shocking. If you're new to android and want the phone to behave even faster, reduce the animation settings to 0.5x. Search "build number" on settings and tap it 7 times to unlock developer mode.
It's not you're probably lucky with the face recognition, it's utterly bad
"This is with uhd screen resolution, 120hz scrolling, always on display with wallpaper effect on"
There is your issue lmao Switch it back to the FHD+ setting that it ships with (You cannot notice a difference even with video playback), and turn off the terrible always on display wallpaper effect. It's useless and defeats the purpose of the always on display by wasting extra power and showcasing a dimmer version of your wallpaper. Just use the always on display as intended by only displaying the clock and notifications.
Switching those two things will easily give you have extra 2 to 3 hours of screen on time battery life.
I don't even bother with finger print of face recognition, in my job both can change just do to dirt, wish i could buy a phone with out those

0:27 This made me so nostalgic. Reminded me of 2017 era when you used to film outside 🥺
Love the new Samsung because they are refining their phone every year 😍 rather than changing it every year.
@Umar_Akmal_PAK96TF u saying

also getting more overpriced every year.
DIDNT ASK + MY CONTNT IS WAY BETTER
I haven’t watched one of your videos in ages the production value is insane 👏 \
Just got my S24+, and it's amazing! All the AI stuff is a great addition and works as advertised, I'm so happy they added it.
Until you have to pay for it 😂😂but I’m sure you don’t mind adding to your monthly bill
@miguelvega7769 I don't mind paying a few bucks for it. I already pay for google storage. Can't have everything for free.
😂😂
I got my S24 Ultra yesterday, did the Samsung smartswitch, been using it nonstop and wow. Cameras are much better than my S22 Ultra, takes pictures much faster, the phone is lightning quick. NOTHING slows it down. No hiccups, nothing. Battery was great overnight. This this is amazing. It will be getting a huge test tonight in Atlantic City NJ. Indoor car racing and lots of boardwalk footage for daytime and night time tests. Slow motion at all FPS will be used too. The S24 Ultra is gonna get an a$$ kicking today haha. I love this phone so far!
In NJ too huh nice. Yeah the s22 series wasn’t good the gen 1 was a hot chip. Gen 2 and 3 have been a lot better.

17:30 it is not at all a dumb example, it is in fact the most genuine example. I'm personally going to use 'circle to search' exactly this way most of the times. Needless to say, perfect detailed video as always ❤
Completely agree with the software part. I was pleasantly surprised moving from the Nothing OS. Currently watching on the S24+ and waiting eagerly for your review of it.
