I agree got mine last Friday and love the feel of the phone in my hand. It was a bit of a battle readjusting my fingers to edge swipe flat vs having to dig in but the phone has been amazing. The brightness of the phone is stunning coming from my S21 Ultra. Camera is amazing coming from the 21 and the responsiveness of everything is so appreciated. My only gripe is that the saturation of color has to be fixed when it comes to natural vs vivid mode. I recognize that as someone who uses a DWF monitor that the colors may be somewhat more natural but I had a pseudo cyberpunk theme that contrasted a dark black blue with a deep bright red so that was extremely noticeable when I first turned on the phone. Though I have adjusted somewhat I still want that deep red. I am surprised that Linus didn't mention that. Though the anti glare armor is amazing. I almost don't want to put a screen protector on it. One last thing about the phone, going back to the brightness. It has made it difficult going back to my S9 Ultra because it doesn't look as bright as it used to before I got the 24.

Also, fuck your extended storage. What's that, want a bigger storage version? Let's say you can get that for about 100 euro's extra. Fml

Looking forward to scratches at level 7, with deeper grooves at level 8 in all phones from now on.

I upgraded from a Galaxy S9+ to a Galaxy S24+ wishing I had gotten an ultra but still love the plus!

Ive had my note 8 for so long that I finally upgraded on the 28th. I knew I needed the pen because like linus said you dont use it every day but when you do you love it. so im happy to learn just how much better it can be from my old phone.

Good point on that. People always wanna compare it being minimal changes from the last generation. But then there's people like me, upgrading after almost six years. My S10+ was finally showing its age, and jumping to this was remarkable.

Idk if i got a faulty unit, but my S23 Ultra does not get bright enough for outdoor use. I simply do not get it. I have extra brightness turned on and i struggle to see my screen at full brightness under direct sunlight. This was never an issue with my previous phone, a OnePlus 9 pro. Which if i remember correctly is supposed to have a significantly less bright display. That said, its my only complaint with the 23.

One of the best things that i love about the s pen is that it makes DS emulation feel complete on the S24

as a very niche user who occasionally draws with the s pen honestly the flat screen is huge it really stops the pen like dropping off the screen!

I'm upgrading from an S21 + 5G, and wow, what a leap. To be honest, the S21 has served me well for the last 3 years, but the battery doesn't hold a charge as well as it used to, so I might have not even upgraded yet. But the leap they've made in only 3-4 years is pretty significant.

I still got the base s21. Will probably upgrade to s25 ultra next. The battery life, performance, and screen brightness are reasons enough for me to upgrade. As of tight now, im fine waiting another year or 2.

So I live in Europe (The Netherlands) and mine doesn't have a 5g cutout. Anybody know if this differs from the North-American versions?

5G cut out???? Mine doesn't have anything like that, and I haven't seen it in any picture!! And I bought it directly from Samsung! What phone is that? 😳😅

Been following for over 15 years linus. Phones are not boring, you have grown to become one. I used to admire your work but the team seems to have forgotten their roots and is now a mesely money making org.

the only complaint i had about my s23 was the edged screen. My last 2 phones (including the s23) have been edged screens. I prefer flat, and may just get the s24 for the flat screen alone.
