I upgraded my Exynos S22 Ultra to the S24 Ultra and I'm loving it so far. The most noticeable difference is the battery life, such a game changer for me! However, one issues that still persists from the previous phone is that a lot of the times the notifications come in late, specifically when I unlock my phone. All of a sudden, all notifications just start coming in. I've seen that a lot of people have had this issue for years with Samsung phones, and some are saying that this is a typical issue with Android phones in general. Mr. Spurt, have you noticed such problems with delayed notifications?
You can toggle the apps you want to receive notifications from to not be affected by this battery saving behaviour, just hold an app icon, go to information about the app, go to battery and select unlimited. Now this app should be able to work in the background even if the phone is locked/in deep sleep, so that you get all your notifications.

Thinking of doing the same. The aspect ratios on the Fold5 are just annoying - and this is coming from someone thats been exclusively rocking Folds since the Fold2 release. The actual screen space taken up by apps/games/movies when at the right aspect ratio ends up being essentially the same as just having the Ultra. Multi-tasking is nice but not used enough to be missed.

@@sydguitar99 I know that, but it’s irrelevant. The point of contention is that despite supporting their phones for 5 years, Apple are accused of overcharging. Samsung are suddenly “justified” in their prices now that they do it?
@Altoseb how is that irrelevant lmao? Since they don't have control over the OS, then they're forced to go based on what google does, which adds to their development time. Apple has everything under their control, they don't have the overhead costs that Samsung does
@@sydguitar99 Oh dear. You think that One UI is more expensive to develop and maintain for than iOS? Jesus. Explain this then. Up until Samsung started offering 4/5 year support their flagships were the same price as iPhones. What accounted for the high price? Clue: it can’t have been dev / support costs.
I have used the Galaxy Note 10 Lite for four years and had the Galaxy Note 4 for a few years before that, and the S-pen is absolutely essential for me. So, I just ordered the S24 Ultra, but I don't have giant hands and really wish I could get a slightly smaller model with the S-pen. I tried it out in a shop and almost changed my mind about buying it because it's considerably less comfortable to hold than the Note 10 Lite. I hope I'll get used to it.
I have the S24 Plus and I love it. Everything has been Awesome I've ever made it my daily driver and my Google Pixel 8 pro my side piece 😊 thanks for the video keep up the amazing work uncle Spurt
One of the many things I use the S-pen for is taking pictures when I can't see what my phone is taking a picture of, let alone find the exposure button. For instance, I'm working on my engine, and I need to take a picture of a part or leak i can't see. I crane my arm down in there and use the pen to take the picture. Sometimes I do use the watch to see exactly what the camera sees, but I don't have an extra hand available to use the watch to expose. Using voice is hit or miss to take a picture, but the pen works great every time.
8:57 can confirm, the glass is FAAAR more resilient to scratches than my previous s23 ultra, it got a tonne of microscratches just from taking in and out my pocket, and I only had it a few months b4 upgrading. 2 months now and the s24 ultras screen is as pristine as day i got it
I’ve got the iPhone 15 Pro and am throughly disappointed with it. iPhones have horrible yellow-y green screens on them (true tone off). I’ve bought 3 and returned two, now planning on switching to Samsung. Just… I have an Apple Watch, AirPods, iMac and iPad Pro… but my iPhone screen is soo ugly😢
I got the 24 ultra for 1 month now. Aside from the camera quality inconsistency, it's the perfect phone for me. Customised everything to my liking and lifestyle. From the home screen to smart thing , modes and routines . For me it's the second time in my life I feel this is the perfect phone for me (the other time was with a note 8😅). Great review and a big thumbs up.
@hundal45 yeah, selfie camera just awful. And with the others a bit of brightness overprocesing. But that's just solved through updates. Other than that ,the perfect phone
@user-kb1jv2us4e its very blurry and sometimes the post processing fixes it , other times it's just a mess. The main issues with the camera is from the software . Instead of implementing all the AI features ,they could just fix these issues.
The S 24 was marketed purely on AI features, I'd be kicking myself now if I just purchased an s24 only to find out that 99% of the AI features are coming to the most recent devices.
I have been iPhone all of my life and recently after seeing a commercial this galaxy S24 caught my eye I’m pondering whether I should switch or not. This video nudged me a little over towards switching, it is just hard to switch considering I have been iPhone all my life. Great review guy, I have never watched a full video of any type of review and watching you was such a good review that you had me sitting and watching the entire 20 minute video, Awesome review dude.
Don’t do it, you’ll regret it… I’ve switched twice now in my life, from iPhone to Android (samsung) and was initially impressed with some of the customization features and options but those get old real fast and after a week or two you don’t even bother with them anymore. The experience, while much better on the s24U compared to previous years Android experience, pales in comparison to just how smooth and seamless the iPhone is… it’s just more refined in every way and you’ll see that pretty quick if you decide to switch. If you do decide to switch I’d recommend NOT getting rid of your iPhone just yet as you’ll definitely be back to it within a few months if not weeks…. Android just isn’t there yet and they try to make up for that with gimmicky features … simple minds are easily entertained with these …. for awhile….
I am currently using the flip 3 and i was thinking about getting the S24 Ultra in July this year but I think I will wait for the S25 Ultra. If it has major improvements then it's a win, if it's worse (because of a exynos chipset in europe) it's still a win because I will then get the S24 Ultra for a lower price
Is this the sign I was looking for? Lol Really thinking of getting this today or at least after Easter😊😊 Thanks for the extra boost of confidence. Been rocking a Note 10+ for almost 5 years...

This is by far the best and most entertaining Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra review I have seen so far. You got a new subscriber. I look forward to follow you. Cheers 😄
My own - very short review of having this phone since its launch (replacing my old Note 20 Ultra, and a brief intermediete iPhone 12 that i was kind of forced to use for 2 months) --> it is quite similar to my old Note 20 Ultra! so, that was my review. Is it totally identical? no .. but what is the ACTUAL difference between those two? ( the aging Note 20 Ultra and the s24 Ultra ) ... the s24 is not rocking around as much as the Note 20 Ultra with its enormous camera module. And thats it. Every app i used on my Note 20 Ultra .. runs just the same on the s24 Ultra (who knew...) - but 100% of the apps i used ran perfectly fine on the Note 20 Ultra, too. The screen is ... identical. Yes, i know .. technical mumbo jumbo and stuff .. but using the phone like a normal person .. there is no difference. As for photos .. i dont take photos on my phone - that is what a DSLR is for. Was it worth it purchasing the s24 ultra for me? no! - not at all. Do i regret it? no, not really - i sold my old note for a good price and got the s24 with some goodies and a rebate - so i really only paid the price of a regular mid ranger. Should you buy that phone at full price? Sure! - if you think 1000 bucks is nothing to you ... but if you value your money - or have any idea about the value of money ... buying any phone beyond 1000 is just pure madness. If you just want to look like you own the new s24 ultra - just buy a s22 ultra for half the price. Not only does it perform pretty much the same - it also looks the same .. since you certianly put it in a case anyway!
Still have and I'm texting on my Note 20 ultra 5g, with the expandable storage, plus how great this phone is, even compared to the S23 or the S24 ultra models, I'm still very happy with one . And it's kind of a "collector edition", being the last Note. 😊
@@sparkylights6069I put a case on my Ultra and yes, it does take away the sharp edges. Honestly though, I didn’t have issues with the sharp edges. What I had issues with, is how slippery the phone is. It’s large and it was constantly slipping out of my hands. I was so glad to put a case on it and it fixed it perfectly. 😊
@lisaesters5160 I've always rocked cases, and screen protectors on my phones just keep them in better conditions for trade-in value. I have the s22+. I'm so tempted to go for the ultra over the plus model, which I have wanted to do for years but always bailed out of doing.
Got mine a few days before release from Samsung. Initially I was impressed and am still very much satisfied with the S24 Ultra. (Switched from Z Fold 3) Beautiful screen, great battery life, amazing build quality, new one UI is finally hitting it's stride. I couldn't be happier with my upgrade.
I bought this phone recently and had to return it due to graininess that was very visible at low brightness. Read that other users even returned their phones several times with the same issue. Surprised none of the major tech youtubers are talking about this
I saw 2 in the shop, one had a poor very dull screen which put me right off, the other looked great. Probably just a setting and not a fault with the screen.
@@barriemoorcroft534 Mine also had dull colors especially compared to my a71. The graininess could not be fixed, the samsung technician said all of them are like this due to the anti-reflective screen. Not sure how true that is, but it definitely felt like a hardware defect than software.
Just upgraded to this phone from the S21 Ultra, mainly for the camera, it's all round better. The pen is very useful, snugly fitting out of the way. I love the looks of the whole phone, the proportions, the weight, the sharp edges are not really sharp and with a case, even less so. I usually keep my phones for as long as I can and I feel this one fits the bill, it is an amazing piece of tech.
This TH-cam people never talk about the Problems. Im testing Smartphones too and i found on every device at least something and they never talk about it.
Got it at launch as an upgrade from the S23 Ultra. Very happy with it so far. Battery has improved, it is snappier and the flat screen (plus anti-reflection) is great. Also, I prefer the camera and think it is more versatile. The only downside is long zoom as that seemed slightly better on the S23 Ultra. I rarely use that anyway so not a big loss. Overall very happy, although the AI features currently seem a bit gimmicky. Hopefully they will grow on me as time goes on...
It is a really good phone with some great specs and features and well worth the money but the only things that is holding me back from buying it is the lack of basic features like the Headphone Jack and a Micro SD card slot
What a lot of people don't know, is that the S24 Ultra has a feature that some of the gaming phones have, and that's pass through charging. It's a feature that Samsung didn't touch on at launch, which makes no sense, as it's an excellent feature. I have done 2 tests of 1 hour each on Call of Duty mobile; one using pass through, and the other just off the battery. And in my testing, the phone actually ran about 3 to 4 degrees cooler when plugged in, then it did just on battery. I'm not sure if it's available on the other versions of the S24, but it's good if you have the option. It also makes your overall battery life better, as you are neither charging or discharging the battery, meaning you over all cycles will last longer. The one caveat I will say though, is it's not available for all apps, just the ones that are in Game Center, and it's pretty limited to how many/what type of apps you can put in there. It will only work with game apps that are in the Game Center app, so if you don't like the Game Centre, then you cannot make use of this feature as far as I'm aware. To turn it on, open Game Center; tap on the menu button (the one with the 3 dots in a vertical line); tap on game booster and scroll down until you see the toggle that says: pause USB PD charging when gaming. Note: you will need a power adapter capable of over 25 watts 2.0 PD (note: not all cables support fast charging, so make sure your cable can support 2.0); I use the Samsung 45 watt one myself, but others should work, providing they support the above.
@@Pedro145a I had the S22+ prior to s24 ultra, and never even realised that it had it! Could of saved my battery a lot of 'miss use' had I know! 😂 Many hours of playing cod mobile with it plugged in 😂. But all joking aside, Samsung need to start advertising these features more, especially with mobile gaming taking off the way that it is.
Just a BIG thanks from me! Wanted to treat myself to a new phone and made the mistake of watching this excellent review! The S24 Ultra replaced my A52s. And that device was also due to your review and your fault, LOL! Not just for those but your reviews are always informative and a pleasure to watch. Thank you!
I legit just noticed something. When i draw, i find the hands the hardest. I dont know for a lot of people, but if enough people are struggling to draw hands and ai learns off what we do, wouldn't that include our mishaps?
I have S22 Ultra that just got 6.1 update recently. Only issue with it is a bit weaker battery life, but everything else seems so close to S24 series to me, and cashing out like 1500€ is not worth it. I probably won't upgrade unless I bump into some kind of a special deal.
Samsung game hub set the framerate on games to 48hz you have to start a game pull out the little controller from the right side of the screen tap on it go into game settings and turn off 48hz mode.
my fingerprint scanner acts up every day randomly although i noticed it happens more when my hands are dry, and i'm too young to have my fingerprints used up, i switched from pocophone f1 which had both perfect fingerprint sensor and face recognition, which i had to turn off on my samsung cause it was simply bad on my model. maybe i have a faulty version..
My fingerprint scanner is wonky too. It did tell me one time I was having major issues, that I might try putting lotion on bc I might have dry hands. 😂😂 I laughed hard at that cos I do have major dry hands. Lotion doesn’t work for crap. So, I ended up setting up facial recognition and so far, that seems to be okay. If those two fail, I do have a PIN number. One of these things has got to work. 😂
I got an S24 Ultra, has been perfect for my needs in every way, especially as an S Pen enjoyer (I use it about 50% of the time I use the phone) and Galaxy AI has been very handy with website summaries when doing research. I have to agree with your complaints about the Samsung Keyboard, but I use it anyway.
Excluding the apparent manufacturing issues, best screen on a phone hands down. I sold mine after a couple weeks, I just don't like One UI and I wish the back was curved and the frame didn't add so much width. I think I'm going with the Honor Magic 6 Pro or waiting for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
Great review! I have my new Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra being delivered tomorrow. I currently own an S20, which has been a great phone, but nearly all the internal memory of its 128 gb is almost spent. Thus I opted for 512 gb on this new s24 ultra. Can't wait! Thanks for the video, because of it I know I made the right decision...
I upgraded from S22u to S24u... Is it just me or the s22u appears to be more more saturated which I personally prefer as compared to s24u even with vividness level set to max
Just realised this morning I was entitled to an upgrade so went with the 1TB Ultra. I've now 2 days til it's delivered and to decide whether to sell it or keep it as it'll be a struggle to let go of my OnePlus 9 Pro 🤷🏼♂️
I've had it since release, and it's a great phone. The cameras are kind of a let down though, it just doesn't seem to take as good pictures without fidgeting with it. Oh well. It's a gorgeous phone and the battery lasts forever.
How reliable is the ultrasonic fingerprint reader? I'm on a Pixel 8 Pro and frankly I'm tired of getting timed out of my company's SSO app because the optical fingerprint reader constantly shits the bed and refuses to recognize any prints which flags me and puts me into timeout.
Sensor is good. If you plan on using a screen protector get the Torras screen protector. A bit pricey (25 USD) but it comes with an installation kit and the sensor acts as if there's no screen protector applied at all.
It works quite well for me and much better than my old Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus. It also works with a cheaper screen protector, but I am now using it without one to avoid losing the anti-reflection feature. However, to avoid the risk of cracking the display, I am using a very protective case.
@@MK-Turtles you can use official Samsung anti reflective screen protector, you lose just a tiny bit of reflectiveness, but save screen from scratches.

Hello lovely goofy mate thanks for your goofy ah reviews so much it helps removing the bad effects of the day. On a side note i aint buggering around but drop the big chunk of ur follow up on the googly pixel please been waiting patiently for that one
As someone who only had iOs smartphones so far (all jailbroken ofcourse) and after seeing last years S23U i was sure that the S24U would be my favorite but unfortunately its not. Samsung simply hasnt changed much, they are trying to compensate the lack of improvements with the use of AI… Look at the OnePlus 12, Xiaomi 14 Ultra .. just to name a few, their cameras are way better. In the S24U we get the same shitty 200mp Samsung sensor, its shit and the pictures taken with it scream „mobile phone picture“ while the 1inch Sensor on the Xiaomi for example shoots much more pleasing pictures I wanted to buy the successor of the S23U because i thought it would be the best of the best but nope, its not.
I love the look, to me, its a beautiful design, much more so than my current S21 Ultra though that lives in a protective case that snugly holds the full size pen. Really great Samsung case but i do wish it encorporated an adjustable stand.
I think Samsung needs to perfect little discrepancies like producing dslr like camera photos ...maybe they could work with camera makers or photographers to get the best camera phone closer to what the iPhone is capable of or better then the 'optimization 'of the software though having gone very far can still go some way for perfection in terms of how animations are executed
Back when I had a Sam about 20yrs ago when they where CHEAP I really liked Samsung email and the internet - now I have a Poco & use the internet but can't use the email 🙄
You mentioned the autocorrect... I have a nightmare on my note 20 ultra with autocorrect 4 years later still not understand my lingo. Do you have a tip to fix it please ?
I see they didn’t fix the one issue I had with the Samsung phone that I had a few years ago. I always got confused between Samsung trying to push their apps and junk continuously into my Google world. It was like having 2 OS on one phone.
Can anyone please answer me this. Does the S24 Ultra come out of apps ,Web pages etc by swiping backwards? Because this is a function of my previous Motorola G9 phone but not on Samsung phones to my knowledge

Ordered this phone for myself and my partner we got them half off through Google Fi and while I'm not sure 1k is worth it 600+ certainly is I'm sure after watching this! Very excited and also never had a phone in my fav color, purple.

Funny how people say that now about Samsung when iPhones have always been pelted for being expensive
@Altoseb difference is, Apple has full control over their software and hardware vs samsung who doesn't
I find the promise of long term software updates tempting but am likely to go for an A55.
2 months now and the s24 ultras screen is as pristine as day i got it
S24 plus for me. Love it: the size and rounded corners are nice. I rarely used my S pen when I had the S22 ultra.
Especially this year with the 2k screen

I’ve got the iPhone 15 Pro and am throughly disappointed with it. iPhones have horrible yellow-y green screens on them (true tone off). I’ve bought 3 and returned two, now planning on switching to Samsung. Just… I have an Apple Watch, AirPods, iMac and iPad Pro… but my iPhone screen is soo ugly😢
The absolute canine's cahonas of reviews...Brilliant! Thank you.
Everything good except for selfie. Makes me look totally different. Patchy skin and older. You?
@hundal45 yeah, selfie camera just awful. And with the others a bit of brightness overprocesing. But that's just solved through updates. Other than that ,the perfect phone
@@mihalachemarius5741 will selfie camera improve after updates?
How’s the motion blur when taking photos?
@user-kb1jv2us4e its very blurry and sometimes the post processing fixes it , other times it's just a mess. The main issues with the camera is from the software . Instead of implementing all the AI features ,they could just fix these issues.
I have been waiting for this!!!!
Thinking of going from Note20 to S24U, what should I expect? Im thinking a better battery life is definitely going to liven things up.
The S 24 was marketed purely on AI features, I'd be kicking myself now if I just purchased an s24 only to find out that 99% of the AI features are coming to the most recent devices.
The S24+ is way better than the S23 Plus cause of the specs

I have been iPhone all of my life and recently after seeing a commercial this galaxy S24 caught my eye I’m pondering whether I should switch or not. This video nudged me a little over towards switching, it is just hard to switch considering I have been iPhone all my life. Great review guy, I have never watched a full video of any type of review and watching you was such a good review that you had me sitting and watching the entire 20 minute video, Awesome review dude.
Switch ... you won't regret it =0)
I switched to Samsung from iPhone about 3 years ago. I have an S21 Ultra and am about to get the S24 Ultra.
Android just isn’t there yet and they try to make up for that with gimmicky features … simple minds are easily entertained with these …. for awhile….

excellent review btw, thinking of getting the s24ultra soon
I am currently using the flip 3 and i was thinking about getting the S24 Ultra in July this year but I think I will wait for the S25 Ultra. If it has major improvements then it's a win, if it's worse (because of a exynos chipset in europe) it's still a win because I will then get the S24 Ultra for a lower price

I love your videos man. Always hilarious
i got mine in feb on sky mobile, 44 quid a month, i love this phone more than anything, wanted a ultra for ages as the best samsung ive before was the s7 edge, proper loved that samsung
This is by far the best and most entertaining Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra review I have seen so far. You got a new subscriber. I look forward to follow you. Cheers 😄
My own - very short review of having this phone since its launch (replacing my old Note 20 Ultra, and a brief intermediete iPhone 12 that i was kind of forced to use for 2 months)
--> it is quite similar to my old Note 20 Ultra!
so, that was my review.
Yes, I agree with you.
Does putting it in a case takeaway the sharp edges everyone seems to be moaning about?
(Switched from Z Fold 3)
Beautiful screen, great battery life, amazing build quality, new one UI is finally hitting it's stride. I couldn't be happier with my upgrade.
8:31 what movie was that?

Thanks for the review. I just ordered one of these. I will be using it mostly for work. That pen is going to help me a lot, I think.
how is it 😀
Just upgraded to this phone from the S21 Ultra, mainly for the camera, it's all round better. The pen is very useful, snugly fitting out of the way. I love the looks of the whole phone, the proportions, the weight, the sharp edges are not really sharp and with a case, even less so. I usually keep my phones for as long as I can and I feel this one fits the bill, it is an amazing piece of tech.
10:40 the squirrel is hydro so dont use any hydro character, use pyro element
How do you reduce the size of the icons? I am puzzled?
Switching from iPhone to samsung
This is the way.
You have no problems with lower brightness levels what about the grainy texture?? 8:43
What kind of series is that on 08:34??
Lol I love your videos, constant laugh 😁 cheers bro!
My s22+ has the pass through charging for gaming lol
@@Pedro145a I had the S22+ prior to s24 ultra, and never even realised that it had it! Could of saved my battery a lot of 'miss use' had I know! 😂 Many hours of playing cod mobile with it plugged in 😂.

I probably won't upgrade unless I bump into some kind of a special deal.
to kill those enemies at 10:40 you need cryo and electro first freeze tehm than you could either use electro or even pyro it worksd both ways
Hi, ive just upgraded to the s24 ultra, im a little confused when you mention gorilla glass screen, does this mean you dont need a screen protector ?
It works good by itself.
A tempered screen protector can cause issues, but works mostly.
Screen by itself though, works flawlessly.

That zoom lens is Amazing and i see a Big improvement with the selfie lens over that in the S21 Ultra.
I don't see how people would've slap a case on a $1200 phone, thus eliminating any issues with the "sharp" corners.

Love the humour in your videos, uncle spurt 😅
As someone who only had iOs smartphones so far (all jailbroken ofcourse) and after seeing last years S23U i was sure that the S24U would be my favorite but unfortunately its not.
Samsung simply hasnt changed much, they are trying to compensate the lack of improvements with the use of AI…
Look at the OnePlus 12, Xiaomi 14 Ultra .. just to name a few, their cameras are way better. In the S24U we get the same shitty 200mp Samsung sensor, its shit and the pictures taken with it scream „mobile phone picture“ while the 1inch Sensor on the Xiaomi for example shoots much more pleasing pictures
I wanted to buy the successor of the S23U because i thought it would be the best of the best but nope, its not.
Techspurt would you spend 350 for s23u screen fix or 637 outta pocket for new s24u? Still get 550 for cracked screen s23u
Back when I had a Sam about 20yrs ago when they where CHEAP I really liked Samsung email and the internet - now I have a Poco & use the internet but can't use the email 🙄
I am loving my S24U; however, it is very expensive. I am not 100% sure if it is worth it. I would probably wait to buy a cheaper, used one.
You mentioned the autocorrect... I have a nightmare on my note 20 ultra with autocorrect 4 years later still not understand my lingo. Do you have a tip to fix it please ?
I am kinda partial to smaller phones because bigger phones are so bloody unruly you might as well bring your iPad mini.
