Acura as a company won’t handle issues that wasn’t from them specifically (for the rim incident) now if the motor had an issue, and it was under warranty, you’d still go through the dealership, and they’d go through the proper procedures from Acura. Unless you directly buy from Acura, the dealerships are the middle man. And when money is the name of the game, you can always bet that dealerships will do what’s in their best interest to stay winning.
I hope these videos reach out to people interested in buying a car; and shows them the dealership not to buy them from. There are plenty of times that customers get the s*** end of the stick.

Since so many of the negative reviews are just referencing this car, they may not care because a customer who cares about the rating can see the negativity is all basically one person. Also, if the dealer really cared, I bet they could get Google to remove most of those negative ratings that are obviously duplicates. Just a couple of weeks ago my mom bought a CPO 22 MDX from Bob Howard Acura in Oklahoma. They tried to charge her a certification fee of $2.1k, told her the price was non-negotiable, and that they wouldn't take it off. It took me posting the invoice in an Acura group to get it taken care of. Someone in the comments actually called the dealership themselves to get rid of that fee for my mom. The support i got from that group was amazing. It's a shame dealership pull crap like this.

I ended up having the same type of issue with my Aspec Tech that I bought. The dealership chipped my rear quarter panel and placed all the blame on me and then Acura corporate told me the same thing about them being separate entities and that they couldn’t help me. I left a bad review on the dealership and then corporate called me and told me I was no longer allowed at that dealership even for any of my warranty oil changes or anything. Ends up that car was a lemon from factory and had a broken steering rack and had the sticky steering and I ended up having to purchase a whole different car.

They could get into some serious legal issues for denying warranty for simply leaving a bad review. First I've ever heard of them being this shallow. Worst/simplest reason I heard they denied warranty was over wearing jeans in an Acura voided the warranty over anything having to do with the seats.

As an Acura Technician, I'd like to share a little insight. Couple things to address.
    1) Some Dealerships document damages before service of working on the vehicle. Your Integra Type s seemed to be damaged at the dealership you took it to and you could articulate proof. They should do something to make it right.
    2) The Engine "Tear-down" Most end work does not require the oil to be drained which makes sense that your vehicle did not have the oil changed as your vehicle fell into this category of repair. All fluid levels should have been topped up as a result of any service. Depending on the dealer they will look at the maintenance minder on their own and contact you to ask if they see there is a service minder soon (in your case 20%) or now. Usually asking if you would like to do it while you are there.
    3) YOUR ENGINE IS NOT A DRY SUMP DESIGN. Your engine is a wet sump. For this reason the manager is incorrect. He is doing damage control. At Symbol 0 only oil is changed, At Symbol A, Oil and filter is changed. "Id personally replace the filter (or request for) the filter to be changed at Symbol 0 as well.
    4) A Car dealership isn't a body shop, and after a bumper comes off (if it did in your case) it is hard to ailing it 100%. How much effort they put in to ailing it is up to the technician usually.
I am sorry that this has happened you and I hope all these issues get fixed. Some people may say don't trust these people on the internet. To that I say, I have no benefit saying this stuff and its your choice to trust me or not.

BMW of Portland, OR did something similar to me. They were taking my 335i for a oil change, went back to pick it up and someone had bumped my car from behind and up front. Front bumper had holes behind the liscense plate holder(I had the front plate holder attached to the right side for a cleaner look), rear bumper had dents that looked like another cars liscense plate went into it. My problem was I didn't have proof that it was them who did it and they didn't think they did it so they wouldn't help me. I never went back and wrote a nasty comment on Google review for BMW of Portland. They offered me a free oil change but I couldn't even trust them anymore.

A couple things... the dealership damaged your rim, prob on that little curb just outside the door. Since they would send it out to be repaired and you don't want that and just have it done yourself, they should pay u $100 toward the repair since it would save them the trouble. A few yrs ago in my city, it cost $150 each to fix curb rash. On the low oil, one guy said the level would read low if the car was recently driven, and Jack Black said the level would be low if the engine is cold! Both of these are completely false. It only takes a minute for 99% of the oil to find its way back down to the pan. People pass down these crazy theories from their grandpas from 80 yrs ago and they still believe them. Hope you get that rim fixed, and hope your engine is perfect again.

Hi Que, great video and channel, first off! I'm an older guy, and own a TEP ITS. No problems thus far, but have not done first service yet, and have an illuminated I-mark and OEM carbon fiber spoiler to have installed when that first service comes up. I had a similar incident to yours happen, but with a Subaru. When I was younger (first car), I neglected to check my oil on my (don't laugh) Mitsubishi Tredia, and had a ton of issues during a service. I had the feeling that the service writer was giving me a run around, so from that point on, I always checked my oil, especially before taking a car in for servicing. About 30 years later I took my 2000 Legacy GT wagon in for an oil change, and after checking the oil, took the car to Renick Cadillac/Subaru (no longer in business). About 40 minutes into the service, the service writer paged me and told me that I had a hole in my oilpan, and that I would need a new oilpan, and that it was a miracle I had no other problems, as I had no oil in the car. I told him I checked the oil before leaving to the dealership, and that it was perfect. He then told me I "must have hit a rock or road debris on the drive over." He took me back to the service bay, and the tech showed me the hole, which was suspiciously next to a bolt that he removed. The pan was also protected by a plastic skid plate, and it seemed more likely that the tech's use of an impact wrench was the actual culprit. We went back and forth, and in the end, I ponied up an extra 400 bucks for the oilpan. I also spoke to the manager of the place, and told them that not only have I taken all of my Subies here for years, but I have recommended the place to others. I asked them, since both scenarios (rock vs wrench) both seemed unlikely to both parties, if they'd meet me halfway. They said no, and while being lighter in the wallet, I never went back to Renick, and dissed them to others (my dad went elsewhere to buy his new Cadillac). Sorry for your troubles, man, and love your content!

@@andrewc8566Dealerships DO NOT WANT someone elses bad apple. If he tells an Acura dealer another Acura dealership treated him badly, they will IMMEDIATELY be on the defensive and may IMMEDIATELY tell him to go away. Now that his video/story is famous, I would stay away from all Acura/Hondas as his best recourse. A lawyer would also advise him the same. It's also for his safety. Acura dealers are known to go after people for crossing them. If they aren't stocking him yet, he needs to consider himself lucky. He has entered a war with Acura/Honda for exposing them. Be cautious, and be safe out there.

A few years ago I had my Accord at the dealer for work, and the service manager came to me, shaking his head, “Sir, we are so, so sorry, but our ordinarily great mechanic managed to damage the wiring when he was trying to replace your taillight bulb. So, listen, we have it spliced together for now, but we have a replacement part ordered - as soon as it comes in, we’ll call you.” No arguments, no fuss… just owning a mistake, and that’s why I was a loyal customer for nearly two decades.
So sorry to hear you went through this mess with Acura of Troy. They had so many opportunities to make this right for you, and they completely failed each and every time. You did an amazing job keeping your cool through all of this.

Funny that you are dealing with that. I had a similar issue with my 2022 Ridgeline. There were 4 rust spots on the rear drivers side door. I took it to the dealership since it was under warranty and the service manager told me that it was my fault. I told her that the rust was coming through the paint. She again said that I caused the rust spots by scratching the vehicle myself and denied the repair. I then took it to another Honda dealership and they excepted the problem and fixed it under warranty. This was just last month.
I’ve had many Honda vehicles and this was the worst experience I’ve had dealing with Honda.

I could tell they were trained to block and deflect at every step of the way. Complete lack of emotion and caring. I really lost my faith in Honda/Acura after that experience. Here's some tips to help protect you with damage & some technical.
    1. Always take pictures of your vehicle before you hand it over to any service center and take pictures after. Then do a walk around if there's any issues you have before and after
    2. The dip stick has 2 dots. Lower is minimum and upper is maximum. As long as its above the lower mark and under upper mark the oil level is at factory spec. Typically it is 1 qt to get from lower dot to upper dot.
    3. There was no engine rebuild based on your receipt in a prior video. It was engine work. Acura will only pay for oil when oil is drained if it is required as part of the repair. It is not always required.
    4. Maintenance minder and free services with it being at 15% is true. It does need to be at 15% for the manufacture to pay for the service when it is due.
    5. The K20 is a wet sump system not a dry stump, you do need to be on a flat surface when checking. Plus if it was recently started you do have to wait some time before checking to get an accurate reading.
