I’ve had the two worst experiences with this dealership. It started when I bring my car to them due to an error light being on after a bodyshop did some work on my vehicle. They charged me a customary fee of $189 to assess what the issue was, and returned my car with the light off.
About 20 mins later, the same light came on. I immediately called and the receptionist Cora, scheduled an appointment for me to bring it back the next day. (Quite an inconvenience given I live about 45 mins away in Downtown Detroit)… When I bring my car in the next day, I wait there for 3 hours for them to tell me “the bodyshop forgot to plug in a sensor”. “We’re just gonna charge you $200 for the labor”.
Now mind you, I JUST paid $180 the DAY BEFORE for the SAME ISSUE that they failed to fix initially. We’re it not for my insurance adjuster saying “them charging you again makes no sense”, I would have paid simply to speed things along.
Fast forward 3 weeks, I made another appointment because the headlight and turn signal in the bumper that the bodyshop painted were flickering (terrible body shop as well, I know). When they were able to accommodate me (no Leander car available) I dropped my car off Monday morning and heard nothing from them until Wednesday when the receptionist called and said “We don’t see anything wrong with your vehicles lights”.
Much like the prior time, their tech’s completely missed the issue that was the cause of me bring my car to them.
When I responded with a picture with the lights out, they said they would look at it again. This point, my car has been there THREE DAYS FOR A LIGHT. The next day they called and said that they see the problem and will fix it to the tune of $450. (Insurance was going to foot the bill but they refused to say “the damage could have been the fault of the bodyshop) so I had to come out of pocket. Now I would have replaced the bulb myself and not paid the $220 in labor they charged were it not for me dealing with my insurance company and wanting an accurate assessment.
This situation prompted me to write a negative review on Google, to which an hour later I was contacted by Martin who’s a manager at Acura of Troy who told me that he was erasing all my vehicle records and saying I should never return there again. When I went to respond to him, he hung up. When I called back, he hung up in my face again.
Absolute worst experience ever. Can’t believe this is a dealership’s service department. Couldn’t be more disappointed in how I was treated

Why did you wait for your adjuster to say something? You don’t have a mouth? Also it sounds like you knew what the issue was from the beginning and chose to take it to take it to the dealer when you yourself say you had a body shop work on it. 😂😂😂 basically you could’ve avoided this if you took it to the original guy, but I feel for you.
But also why are you trying to force people to say your light is broken due to another accident, only you would know that, the amount of people that come in to a shop and expect to put someone name on the line for a car you drive and should know like the palm of your hand.
Frankly the way you came on TH-cam comments, sounds like the body shop should have its name in here. But you want to blame the last person who touched it for and accident the body shop did.

Bro, I'm a tech at an Acura dealership. At first I was saying you were nitpicking or splitting hairs about the bumper. But after seeing everything, that dealership did shoddy work. If you had the illuminted A badge installed, the bumper was removed and they probably didn't install it back correctly. You should've made a big issue about your wheel as you have it on video. Don't walk away from that bro, hold them accountable. They could've changed your oil and reset the oil life as well as put the correct amount of oil in there. It's work like this that make people hate dealerships

@kurtkissner1351 when I first started in the business, I was told techs are the ones who diagnose and replace and mechanics just replace lol, but to me, that's neither here nor there tho . I initially mentioned the bumper because I've seen cars come from the factory misaligned, and not much would be done on the dealership level. I initially thought that could've been the case here, but I realized the work was just crappy. Kudos to you treating cars as if they were your own. Haven't seen many do that

Honestly, in the position you're in being the car youtube game, this is prime opportunity to put that dealership on blast. The service manager's attitude was awful. Taking a defensive approach is not the way to handle things, and as a manager, he should know that. This is one of the best cases ever to do your own work or take to a better dealership. I hope you let Honda head office know about this. Also, fitment of the front end of the ITS seems to be hit and miss, the first few batches at least. I looked a few last year and all the PWP either had gap issues or the colour was off. That clown of a service manager shouldn't be saying " oh they all come like that", that's bullshit.

For the people that don't know, dealers hate warranty work because they don't get paid the same shop time or posted labor rates. If the mechanic gets flat rate, he has to do warranty work for a fraction of his normal pay. As unacceptable as it is to perform that extensive level of work on the engine and not do an oil change, everything they do that isn't by the book per the manufacturer, they're not getting paid for. A great dealership would have given you free oil changes with the purchase of the vehicle and would have done it without asking. A good dealership would have resubmitted it to Acura to cover their cost to make sure it's done. An okay dealership would have called you and told you need to pay for the oil change. A crooked dealership would blame you for the damage (every single drop off I've ever done includes a detailed walk around to verify the condition of the vehicle). An evil dealership would give you the car back almost 2 quarts low after rebuilding the head after misdiagnosing the issue and having it for 2 weeks. Wow... Nasty work

    • @junglehusky1453
      @junglehusky1453 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Not accurate. A good technician can pull ahead billable time by being efficient and quick with warranty repairs. If Acura, for instance, credit the dealers labour on a warranty repair and your tech can complete it under the book time, he and the dealership do well.

I went to my local BMW dealership with my G80 m3 for the brake-in oil change and they left the oil filter cap off and started the car, it shot oil everywhere and when I was driving it the oil on the cats started smoking like crazy. I didn't make a complaint since they came out and apologized and cleaned it all but I should have 100% called corporate, I don't know how long they ran it without oil and if there is bearing damage thanks to the 19 year old kids that got out of mechanic school and dgaf about anything.

Is a complete waste of space in that dealership and puts all dealers to shame. You are doing right in expressing how you feel and what you have experienced. If you haven’t already start with the survey and a google review. Rail them even on Yelp. Because to be denied wheel repair is beyond disbelief! We don’t take these situations lightly where I’m at. And personally I would have gone the extra mile and checked your oil percentage and done it for you. I do it all the time when I see people come in for let’s say. Suspensión or Brakes concerns, if they buy the service best believe I’ll throw in a free oil change because in the end of the day it’s at our disposal and cheap as hell. Plus the type of work that was done, if that tech used any brake clean around the area where your valve cover sits while it was off, best believe I’m draining that stuff out! 100 percent why you don’t go to dealerships. Join a car club and find a mechanic that owns the same car and have that person do your work period. 60k car and this runaround. This is why I don’t trust dealerships. You need to report them to Acura Corporate this is totally unacceptable they joy rided your car scraped up your rim and that advisor treated very poorly (unacceptable advisor was very defensive and rude to you). I would show this to corporate and demand full repair and compensation this is unacceptable. As far as oil changes do it yourself every 3k miles screw them. Also if you get any warranty work you need to tell them that your are documenting the miles in and if they show anything higher we are going to have a problem. Always take pictures before. Most dealership take pictures before they check in your car. make them pay for your rim.. I’m mad this is unacceptable. I never take my Corolla GR to the dealership I have a friend that’s a master tech at Toyota that does my maintenance in front of me. My personal experience with this dealership has been absolutely terrible. My '23 ASpec Intgra has been suffering from the sticky-steering issue. I was planning to wait until an actual fix was in place before going into a dealer, but when I had a check engine light for an emissions leak a few weeks later, I figured I may as well bring it up. The service department here tried to tell me that the reason my steering stuck was due to the computer being messed up by the emissions check-engine light. They completely ignored that it had been present for weeks before the engine light, and that it was still present when I returned after the light was cleared. Screw this place.
I went to Jeffrey Acura in Roseville afterwards, and the service advisor there immediately knew what i was talking about, had me leave the car there to run some tests, and got a new steering rack on order. When I returned to the Roseville dealer last week I planned to ask if there was any news, but I didn't need to, THEY brought it up for me that they were still waiting for it, meanwhile it's been radio silence from Troy on the fuel filler neck that they claim will somehow fix my steering (not that I'd take it back anyway).
To quote the service advisor in Roseville, "If i had a nickel for every bad thing I've heard about the Troy dealer, I could retire right now."

It was already bad seeing a brand new car leaking oil like that, then the fact that they didn't seem to want to fix it under warranty, then their shoddy workmanship with everything they touched, then to actually curbing your wheel and trying to act like you're the one that did it... Does Acura realize every prospective buyer of the Integra and Type S brand has a high probability of coming across this video, eventually? Most interesting thought is the horrible marketing this video is for the Acura brand in perpetuity. As a previous Acura Integra owner in my youth, I am the target audience for this vehicle. Yet, recently, directly because of the insights learned here, found myself more attracted to and more aware of the Toyota Brand, even Honda and Subaru. Trust is my most important factor in the buying process. Trust for the reliability of the vehicle and its future servicing. Additionally, Toyota (GR), Subaru (WRX) and Civic (Type R) are still produced in Japan, which highlights the trusted contrast in reliability as I know these vehicles were made well (statistically speaking). Most serious buyers will run away from anything gimmicky, Acura certainly appears gimmicky and criminal here. The open dishonesty and lack of concern of this dealership and the corporate brand is reflective of a mindset that only cares about cost savings and cutting corners. Poor quality / workmanship and service = look elsewhere.

I know you did an IS and this car comparison. Now compare dealer service. There is a known issue with front bumper/sagging on the IS500. I pointed it out on my 2023 and the dealer looked me straight in the eyes and said: Yeah, that's an embarrassment for Lexus. We will put the note in your file so you won't get dinged out of warranty for the complaint as it's a known issue but they have not received and TSB for it (ie: no fix in the near future but we don't want to bone your for it). I know there are some online fixes for it, but it seems to be that that fix will put a lot of stress on the section of the bumper where it joins the fender....so I decided to wait for a Lexus fix. Also, they offer a free car wash with every service but warn it is not touchless and ask to verify if I want it or not for this reason....just class.

Before I say anything, I would just like to clarify that I am in no way attempting to defend the dealership. I currently work at a Honda dealership and I absolutely despise managers like this (including mine). With the panel gap issue on the bumper, that is likely not the technicians fault who installed the emblem, as the build quality on new Honda/acura vehicles is terrible. Especiallhy that specific panel gap on every civic/integra. That panel gap with the bumper against the chassis was definitely there before the technician removed and re-installed the bumper. If anything, it's better than it was from the factory. Second, with the oil, it's difficult to see on camera but you stated the oil level was low, being between the two marks. If you just drove it from inside the dealership and right outside in the parking lot and checked it, that is actually the correct oil level. The dipstick only shows about 1.5 - 2 quarts of the actual oil capacity, so for example if you don't see anything on the dipstick, it doesn't mean that the engine has no oil in it, it could still have 2.5 to 3 quarts of oil in it, maybe a bit more, as this engine has an oil capacity of 5.7 quarts. If you drive the car for about 15 minutes then come back, shut the engine off, let it rest for about 1-2 minutes then check the oil, the oil level should then be at the second mark, as oil expands as it heats up, reaching the correct capacity. Anyways, that curb rash is terrible. I have never curbed any rims on my vehicles except when I was 15 with my learners permit in my 1997 Nissan Sentra lol. You should absolutely go after that dealer for that curb rash and have them replace the rim for you. The tech was probably nervous driving a nice car instead of his shitbox cause techs don't get paid shit, and curbed your rim pulling out of the lot.

I just had ppf put on my its and mine looked the exact same after they put everything back together just slightly less worse than how's yours looks. They have to slide the panel clips (top and bottom) under its slot at the same time. will take a little bit of a push to slide both in going from top to bottom. Nah for that level of disrespect from the service manager, i’d be going back for a new wheel & an upgrade to an NSX on the house 😂

I had the same issue with one of my vehicles with the curb rash. I had it serviced, noticed a curb rash on my wheels that I know wasn't there before I dropped it off and the dealership got mad at me for accusing them of doing it. This was 2 years ago, and I've gotten in the habit of taking pictures of my car before dropping it off. I've also stopped going to that dealership that curbed my wheel since they didn't want to take responsibility. I hope you get a better outcome then me!

I have owned so many Hondas and Acuras over the years and because of stuff like this, I have ditched Acura completely for Lexus. I am trying to convince my wife to sell our 2019 Acura MDX. I sold my 2019 Acura TLX A Spec because of all the issues. Tons of issues and that advisor is absolutely horrific.

I had a similar experience with Toyota of Grapevine Texas with my 21 Toyota Supra.
My car was paid off still under warranty and I wanted a quote for a parking sensor malfunction and the 2nd of my 3 free oil changes.
From the moment I pulled in I was treated like a criminal. I had cosmetic modifications on the car and it was lowered. The HKS sticker on the rear window was a point of contention suggesting that the engine had been modified despite me showing that nothing had been done under the hood.
I came back without an outlandish quote for the parking sensors and simply informed me that they had given me the oil change.
Flash forward I my oil levels were low so instead of going back to that dealership I took the car to Valvoline. They informed me that they didn’t have the correct oil filter so they offered to top me off which I agreed to and I left.
Two weeks later I see oil in my driveway, not good.
Took the car to Toyota of Plano, and they confirmed my oil pan had been cracked due to over torquing of my screws past factory specifications and the leak took a while to show because the pan liner was acting like a sponge absorbing all of the oil.
Grapevine refused to take responsibility. The repair cost me 3,000 dollars and 3 months with no car.
Shit was a nightmare, on the opposite side of side my Wife drives a Mercedes and while the service prices aren’t cheap it’s always done properly and I deal with the same service rep every time. Guy is a G, polite no bullshit, and since he knows I am a car guy we always gives us the nicest loaner he can.

I was taking my 4Runner to a big family Toyota dealership for oil changes and tire rotations for a while. The first time I went for my appointment, they didn’t charge me “because we took longer than expected”. I was shocked and pleased and went back there for more services. Every time I had an appointment, and the wait times got longer and longer. 3+ hours for an oil change and rotation. I eventually gave up on them and went back to my favorite small independent oil change shop and local Discount Tire. I always received great service from both of them and spent less time waiting even though the places were not near one another.

Good luck. I submitted videos of my brake issues and nothing. Even filed a claim with NCDS and was awarded a repair. They still won't do it because it is "working as designed "

This hits close to home for me. Brought my car in for a recall once and someone grounded something electrical and I had a permanent check engine light after that and they would never admit they did it. I haven't been to a dealer for a repair in 15 years unless I absolutely had to. I feel you with this one.

It’s been almost 20 years since I worked for Acura and it’s embarrassing to see a dealership operate like that. The bumper alignment is off and should be fixed. In reading the comments, it sounds like the bumper has to come off to wire the illuminated door sills. What likely happened is techs are allotted a specific amount of time for each job and most of the time it’s not enough even if it goes perfectly. The tech was probably out of time and no longer getting paid for the job and reinstalled the bumper quickly without properly aligning it. The lack of oil is a joke and they should have done the oil change. I am not a fan of this new percentage system most cars now use. The wheel curb is completely unacceptable and the service manager was unprofessional in handling it. The slight grace I would give is the valet driver, if it was his first week. It does take a week or two to learn where all of the e brakes are and how to operate the electric ones. After a week or so you learn where they all are.

I’ve had a similar warranty experience at Acura of Burlingame. It’s such a bad feeling like they are just trying to avoid warranty work and deflecting. Never bought another Acura because of that experience.

I am sorry this happened to you. I too had a bad experience with a manager at a Acura dealership. He insulted me for not accepting a lease offer even though I told him a few times I simply wanted a quote that day and no deal. I ended up with an Acura, but from a different dealership!

I had a new 04 TSX that was a rattle trap. Took it into dealer multiple times for it. They said they needed it over the weekend because they needed more time. I got it back on a Monday afternoon with 150 extra miles on it. They made up every excuse about needing to run it on lift and so on. I just shook my head and left. Never to return to that dealer.

It’s easy. Take a picture of your wheel from the same angle that was shown in still image you used when dropping it off. Keep the valve stem in same place as well and see if you can see the damage from picture to picture
