I have have owned two, a 1999 GS 300 and a 2005 LS 430. I still own the LS. But I switched to a different brand on my most current car. My dealership let go of all of their service advisors and hired peopled who seemed like they had no automotive service experience. They added a coffee bar that has never been open and their service is really poor. They are the only Lexus dealership in the metro area here. So, I now have a new primary car and just service my LS at a local Toyota dealership. That dealership also services my Highlander.

Also, the Germans in general are reliable enough that you won’t be stranded. I switched from Acura to BMW and the driving experience and interior build quality is just much better.
At 71 years old .I traded my 2018 Avalon in for a 2018 Lexus ES 350 . The ES350 was a nice improvement. A few months ago ,traded the 2018 ES350 for 2021 Rx 350 with 12k miles. Loving it ❤
Unfortunately the gearbox really lets it down. Toyota needs a DCT in their performance automatics. The LC500 has fantastic interior quality, truly approaching Aston Martin on the high end, but there are some fundamentals that are 15 years behind.
While the quality and features differentials aren't as wide as they once were, Lexus continues to have the best dealership and customer service experience in the industry. Toyota can't say the same. I would pay thousands and thousands more for Lexus over Toyota and do and have!
I have purchased cars for over 30 years; purchase a new, used , or lease every 2 years . One car I come back to time in and time out: Lexus. Toyotas are great too but the Lexus driving experience is exactly as advertised it’s refined, it’s affordable luxury, and it’s reliable. My last Toyota was a RAV 4 2019 model . It was bare bones . I hated how I had to install lights in all the door panels because at night everything is dark , no automative seat adjustments for my front passenger. For a cabin experience it sucked and I paid 35k for that car in 2021. In 2022 for $29k I bought a Lexus es 2016 fully loaded with every luxury you would get from a Mercedes . Night and day difference from the RAV4 . Yes my cars were completely different vehicles but nothing in that RAV4 justified 35k . The RAV4 is reliable but that’s it. My point sharing is that for the same amount of money you will spend on a NEW Toyota, you can buy a used Lexus and get double or triple the amount of features you could ever get in a new Toyota. Look for well cared for Lexus’ with low mileage and a clean & clear carfax report . Most Lexus owners don’t drive the hell out of them and they are well cared for .
Maybe in the U. S., I went to at least 3 Lexus dealerships in Germany and they were shit, really bad. I bought my NX300h from a Toyota dealer and I'm servicing it there. I get it...Lexus did not market their vehicles in Europe because diesel is still the king here...or it was, as more and more people are shifting towards electric/hybrid vehicles. It took me 3 months to find the right Lexus here, I had to give up some features to get a sound one overall. And the Lexus prices here...ridiculous, you're better off with a Toyota. I chose the NX300h over the RAV4 for obvious reasons and I don't regret it at all, this car is fabulous in its class, but the Lexus "experience" does not exist in Germany, after all the brand was created for the U.S., the politeness and care was not transferred to Germany at least, must have something to do with the culture.
I had an ES built in Japan and one built in the US. The one built in Japan never made an unwanted sound on the interior. Everything was solid. The one built in the US had a rattle on the sunroof area and on the doors. Currently own an NX made in Japan and again feels more solid and has no rattles. I have noticed that difference. On everything else they have been equally solid and reliable.
I don’t know what year they started building in the USA. The one built in Japan was a 2018. The one built in the USA was a 2022. The NX has as far as I know been only built in Japan so far. Mine is a 2024. The 2018 ES was a tank. Nothing ever made a sound or rattle no matter how bad the road was (and roads in PR are some of the worst). Ride was very good on both models, although the 2022 was firmer. Maybe the rattling parts have nothing to do with US manufacturing, it was just my experience. But from anecdotal experience by people I know, Lexus are basically bulletproof no matter where they are built.
My 2018 es350 is made in America. The brand new 2025 and up will be built in Japan. Most used ones your probably considering are made in the US. I do believe the US ones have gotten better over time. No noise on my 2018. However I would always prefer the Japan versions but not a deal breaker for me personally. If you have a warranty always complain before it runs out as they are usually addressed promptly at no charge.
I don't know If you have been looking at pricing because that never happens. Does a Mercedes cost as much as a Maybach? An ES will never cost as much as a Camry. An ES is always 30-40% more!
My wife and I bought our first Lexus a few months ago-- a 2020 CPO ES 300h, Luxury Trim. Holy moley! I feel like I need earplugs when I get back into my 2014 Camry hybrid. That Lexus is spectacular.

Higher Lexus models have better interior, sound dampening, and ride quality. Swapped an Avalon with a 2024 Lexus ES and the difference is huge. Lower end models feel exactly like a Toyota, that’s why we didn’t bother upgrading a RAV4 with an NX, felt like the exact same car even dimension wise.
@@chezzyperson3339 I drove the original 2019 Japanese Toyota Crown sedan in Asia, it felt a lot like the Lexus ES, very high quality car. The new Crown version we have in the States feels like a car from Wish, too much cheap plastic.

21:07 Having lived in both Japan and America, I have to say that the difference between a master here in America and in Japan is the surrounding environment. People do not REALLY, TRULY, respect master craftsmanship in America. I have met skilled artisans here, some of whom do excellent work, but they are not respected by their communities in the same way that master artisans are in Japan. It is hard to explain the difference, but in Japan if you do craft work at a master level that is a spiritual accomplishment that has no social equivalent in America in terms of how other people look at you. America has some of the best artists in the world, without question, both in terms of high art and popular art, and a lot of them do get a lot of respect, but artisans have much quieter and less showy lives and that doesn't really mesh with our understanding of what excellence looks like. When it comes down to it, I think it's because people in America generally don't understand what it means to have a sense of responsibility to THINGS in addition to people. Maybe that's something you can only have in an animist culture or a culture that really values tradition. I'm not saying that's not something individuals here understand, but in terms of the broader community it doesn't compute. When that sensibility is acknowledged by people around you it pushes you do to go that extra mile in doing your craft as well as humanly possible.

Lexus ES 350, although only a few thousand dollars more than Toyota Camry, is far more quiet and absorbs bumps better, etc. It's actually cheaper than the Toyota Crown. PLUS, Lexus ES still has the wonderful, long-lasting six-cylinder engine. Camry and Crown are both now four-cylinder and hybrid.

From 11:00 - 13:00 makes me feel like you don’t understand Lexus’ philosophy at all. Why rush to be the first to introduce new technology, when they can perfect it like how Apple does. A perfect example: The 2018 LS and LC were fitted with all the first new technology from their TNGA platforms and they were pretty bad. The 10 speed was unrefined at the time, the 3.4L turbo had reliability issues, the LC needed 3 years of updates to finally get the ride right. Instead of launching new cars with untested features and tech, let Toyota deal with the trial and error so that Lexus is unaffected by their issues. Look at what’s being recalled by Toyota now. All of those new TNGA F models INCLUDING the all new LX. Imagine if Lexus launched the LX and GX first, they’d all be recalled and their reputation for reliability would be ruined.

I own a 2013 Lexus RX350 with 120k. Rock solid. Runs just like the day we bought it. I also thought Toyota was the test fleet for engines and Lexus doesn't put those engines in their vehicles until proven out. They don't want issues with their luxury vehicles.
I have a 2014 RX350, 120k miles. Still runs like new and everything works like new. Interior is still flawless. I sold an SC300 Lexus coupe at 203k miles, still ran exactly as new.
Have a 2019 with NA V6, runs perfectly and by far the easiest to maintain. It’s decent on gas and loads of space and super comfortable. Getting a new BMW but I’m keeping the Lexus forever in case my other cars break down, Lexus you can always rely on
I got a new RX350 and is the best car that I drove so far. I drove a bunch of European cars VW, BMW, Mercedes not impressed at all. My first car was a Mercedes, my father car. Mehhhh

Comparing back-to-back I think the noise suppression and associated refinement is noticeably better on Lexus models, and definitely worth the extra money for highway driving.
GH HM vs TX 500h... paint quality, ride qaulity, sound deadening, door seals, larger screen, larger digital dash, power 3rd row, better 360 camera, premium wheels, 4 wheel steering, sport tuned suspension, bigger brakes and dealership experience!. absolutely worth it. think of it as a platinum plus plus, highest Toyota trim.
Lexus TX is a full blown luxury Suv with excellent power performance comfort tech features refinement ride quality 3rd row V6 PHEV and more. Overall miles different from any GH. OVERALL I feel Kirk made this video just for content .
I did not know your backstory with Lexus. I'd think a Toyota from 20 years ago, like my 06 Camry, probably has a longer shelf life than most Lexus models today. Not that you can buy those old models "new." Technology/regulations to blame, of course for high likelihood of failure or obsolescence
We are a Toyota family, and I can see your point, Kirk. However, once I stepped into the Lexus dealership, I was amazed at the level of service, as wel the fit and finish of the vehicles. When we took out the new RX350h, I was sold. It is so nice. Part of me wishes the Signia had been released earlier. I asked my wife about looking into a trade, and she replied with a hard "no". Haha! Sometimes, all we can go with are our own experiences. As soon as our local Toyota dealership was taken over, buy a large city-based ownership group, everything went downhill. I have also noticed more creaks and rattles in our '21 Sienna than in our 2006 Sienna and our 2015 Venza. The Lexus is whisper-quiet and drives like a dream.
Still, the LX, LC, LS are still top of the line, when i think of lexus i think of the LS. Captain chairs with a console that controls the whole interior, spectacular interior with utmost luxurious ride comfort
Lexus has always been an expensive Toyota in some ways. Like the early Lexus IS, GS, and LS were Lexus specifically designed, but the ES as well as the Land Cruiser based SUVs are basically nicer Toyota’s. So I think it’s not in line with the traditional Lexus way to make everything a Lexus specific car. What I’m saying is that it’s ok for Lexus to base some (not all) of their cars on Toyotas for cost effectiveness. But I think Lexus should keep making Lexus specific flagships like the LS, GS, IS, LC, RC, etc to set them apart from just being a nicer Toyota. Overall I think they have a good balance in their product line instead of going the expensive route of all independent design like Genesis. I could ask for a bit more of a luxurious interior, but that’s about it. Ride quality, material quality, drive quality, and quality control are all spot on with Lexus. I’d say they still are worth the money over Toyota.
That and as they introduce EV and hybrid tech, especially Prime models they should prioritize Lexus in places they sell well. More Lexus owners would be willing to pay the PHEV premium and have a home to charge them to take advantage of the drastically reduced cost of daily driving them. I can see why Toyota doesn't even bother offering a PHEV for most of their models and the ones that they do the wait list is long, they can make way more money by making them with a Lexus badge. It seems they are choosing the Toyota Prime production based on whether they have enough batteries after filling other more profitable orders, which is a very smart business move on their part.
Owning a luxury car is more than the features. It’s about the buying experience and the ownership experience. The quality of the service department is paramount.

Great video. The Care Care Nut did a video a year or two ago where he showed many aspects of comparable Toyota and Lexus models. The Lexus models all had better tolerances, insulation, aerodynamic cover under the chassis, etc. Please consider asking him to weigh in onn this topic. I'm sure he could show us a side-by-side comparison of the materials
The problem isnt that toyota made more progress( compared to some competitors toyotas interiors and refinement is still not competitive) but its that lexus hasnt made as much progress compared to some other luxury automakers.
Nuluxe is an improvement over leather, which is why I chose Nuluxe over leather for my 2024 Lexus. If someone asks me is that real leather, I am prepared to answer, no it is better. Leather is harder to care for, more subject to temperature changes and cracking, and picking up the dyes from jeans and other materials.
@@speedmaster001 which aspects are you looking to for differentiation? The LC500 is a Grand Tourer; not a sports car. it is also one of the best and most beautiful cars made. BMW has lost the plot and the service requirements are not in Lexus's league. Audi isn't in the same league.
Right now you can get a Lexus ES for less than a Toyota Camry (a smaller car) because of all the Toyota dealer markups, stock issues, and high monthly payments.

Two words. Ventilated seats. Very few Toyotas offer ventilated seats and almost every new Lexus comes with it standard (don’t know about if the NX offers it standard)
To add comment to the Crown addition, just look at the VW group. They offer Skoda, Seat, Cupra, VW, Audi, Porsche, Lambo, Bentley. All with crossovers in pricing and they all sell. So I can see the Crown being an VW or Cupra equivalent then Lexus can rival Audi. Leave Toyota to rival Skoda/Seat etc
I think it all depends on what you’re looking for. For most people the Signia is 75% of what the RX is but the RX offers something that luxury buyers want which is choice, with the Crown Signia, you’re stuck with one powertrain and 2 trims, with the Lexus you get 4 powertrains, a plethora of interior options and color. Do you want just a gas engine, a plug-in hybrid, a regular hybrid, a performance hybrid?, the Lexus offers the choice, you get stuff like heated and ventilated rear seats, rear wheel steering, adaptive suspension, Mark Levinson audio etc. most people can do without all that stuff but if you can afford it? Why not 😂. Like I said earlier the Crown Signia is 75% of the RX, but the the RX definitely is worth it over the Toyota for some people plus you get the luxury dealership experience and well the badge as vain as it sounds, most people would rather be seen in a Lexus rather than a Toyota. Now I’m not gonna sit here and say that every single Lexus product that has come out has been the bees knees, cos that’s not true, as much as I love the TX, I’m not a fan of the lack of wood trim, Lexus says it’s to make the interior look more youthful and sporty but I think it makes the interior look boring. Take a look at the RX and TX which share virtually the same interior and the RX looks much better cos you can get different colors apart from white, black or dark brown and you can get actual wood trim, I also don’t like how Toyota always gets the cutting edge tech first, like the NX and RX are still such with that small 7-inch MID that is used in a Corolla while the RAV4, Venza, Crown and every other Toyota on sale as per from the Corolla get the 12.3 inch screen, or just like you said Kirk, how Toyota always gets the priority when it comes to platform debuts, that has only recently changed with the GX debuting before the LC250. Lexus doesn’t really have a performance line and I don’t think the RX500, IS500 or RCF count, they are all amazing products but the RX is a FWD based family crossover and both the IS and RC are just ancient at this point. I’m still a diehard Lexus fan but they are definitely areas that they can improve in, just like every other brand.
If every Lexus was built like the LC then they wouldn’t have this problem. And imo nothing above the NX in the Lexus line up should have a 4 cyl. You shouldn’t have to spend 80k on a 3 row bus to get the V6.
I test drove a 2025 xse. The gen 5 hybrid powertrain is really good. Driving dynamics might be better than a es300h, but the interior materials, NVH levels, ride comfort are no where near an ES
I can tell you that where I live, theft rate and corresponding insurance rate on Lexus is sky high. That being said, I do appreciate their interior quality of materials relative to Acura. Quality in general, at that.
Kirk Toyota is setting up their top of the line brands with luxury options as Lexus becomes fully electric. Original and Toyota customers will still have a chance to buy luxury ICE vehicles. I am not worried about Toyota as a plan for their customers.

You can tell right away lexus is more luxurious. Fit and finish are better. Definitely quieter. Even the materials used are totally different! The ride is so much better on lexus too! Sure, most feautres you can get on a toyota too but at that point the toyota will be close to the price of the lexus. You are correct the Lexus used to be built in Japan and has better quality and craftsmanship. My dad used to have the LS 400 and the interior was amazing and beautiful.
Of course Lexus is worth every dollar if you are willing to pay for the premium over a Toyota. Although reliability is the same, Lexus owners enjoy the exclusivity, the Lexus name, the higher grade materials, the more expensive paint job, better suspension. I’ve been driving both Lexus and Toyota zillions times always prefer Lexus even it means paying more.
Sequoia and LX are not even on the same universe. The LX is literally a 300 Series in tuxedo, impeccably made. IMO, it’s a mistake for Lexus to discontinue either the LS or LX. They are flagship vehicles that are needed in a Tier 1 luxury brand just because they can. Toyota has the money to make them better and leave them even if they don’t sell a ton of them.
But not a true flaghip vehicle. Even owners of the new GX say they want to someday upgrade to an LX. Is the GX a better buy, of course. Does it have the caché the LX has? No. Lexus is a tier 1 Luxury brand and needs that flagship SUV(and sedan). If not, they’ll just be another Acura. Just make the LX a hybrid, Lexus!
Just bought my first car in Feb, 02 LS430 and I cant believe how much they incorporated into that car. I also bought my second car last week for $550, a 90 LS400. 400k miles and didnt drive, just needed a battery and about 2 gallons of 93. I grew up with toyota and I love both of them! Its interesting to see the differences explained with the newer models since I only have experience with the older ones. Nice vid!
As a consumer, l prefer having more choices, so bring on the Crowns. As a former salesperson, l hate all these choices. All the prep, learning all the trim intricacies.can drive you nuts.
What are you talking about yes buying the Lexus makes more sense if you are comparing a GX 550 vs a Land Cruiser by the time you walk out of the dealership they are about the same price. They shouldn’t be but they are so GX 550 Overtrail seem like the better buy
I had an Avalon for couple years in the past and now I own a Lexus ES 350. I like the ES much better than the Avalon even they have exactly the same powertrain 2gr-fks. 😅😅
I mean they are both great cars but in my case I think it’s worth paying extra few grands to get an ES. I drive very long distance to work everyday so ES is a very nice place to be in😀
I have a 2020 Avalon TRD in Supersonic Red and hands down the best choice over any Lexus at that point in time I bought it for the money. The ES wasn't sporty enough for me, and the ES Hertz rental I drove did not impress me over my TRD. It felt old and outdated. I needed excitement! The IS 500 wasn't available yet with the V8 or I probably would of went that route, regardless of the MPG's. Although, all the roominess and 30-37 MPG I get commuting 112 miles a day makes the Avalon TRD the best choice even today. I always get compliments about the cars styling and the beautiful color. The exhaust note tuned by Yamaha is worth it's weight in gold! It's nice having a unique car not driven by everyone else in town. I have a 2007 Camry ES with 345K sitting in the driveway and I'm bored with the thought of getting another Camry. As a long time Toyota owner, I do feel the need to move up the chain into a Lexus next time, I'm just waiting for something worth wild. I don't like the new Cown's look so that will push me up to Lexus. I can't wait to see what the new IS has to offer, or the ES with an F Sport option.
@@darrin687 Avalon it is a great car for sure. I’m not arguing that. But for me I want a Lexus ES non F-Sport just because I want a comfortable car not a sporty one. You can save some money by going a Avalon that is a smart choice because you still get the same engine and transmission of the Lexus. But the interior and exterior is a different story. I think the ES looks sharper, interior feels much nicer and the most important thing is ES is quieter than the Avalon ( less wind noise and road noise at high speed). They are both great cars and you can not go wrong with either one.
I went through Hundai, Mazda, Toyota dealerships and I have to start swearing in the second sentence when dealing with them. In Lexus I was feeling myself well balanced and polite individual 😅😅😅

I'm afraid I have to disagree with you on the Crown Signia vs any of the RXs the Lexus'are better built, quieter and smoother. Looks are subjective. It makes no sense to compare Lexus and Toyota on money. Surely if your first concern is money, pick the Toyota!
I bought my first Lexus recently (08 ES350) and it is by far the best car i have ever owned. And I have owned a wide variety of vehicles including used and brand new across many brands. The quality is superb, its surprisingly fast and I have so much fun driving it. I think I will always be partial to Lexus now over Toyota and I plan to remain loyal to the brand from here on out!
I personally find that the 2000s were Lexus, Acura and Infinitis best era. I’m more of a fan of Acura, so to me the 2004-2008 TL, MDX, RSX, TSX were all beautiful, but also sporty. I think that’s where Acura to me appeals more is that I want some extra luxury goods but I want the sporty feeling. Lexus can do that but it’s hit and miss. I do disagree with the renewable sources being luxury. Volvo does a great job with that, and as younger and younger generations get to the position to afford vehicles like this, I think that’ll be the changing point. I mean, sure I’d love to have real leather but if there is something that’s synthetic that’ll not crack and is more pet friendly / kid friendly, I’m totally okay with that. Where I see Lexus going is leaning into the sporty driving and luxury experience. When I think Toyota, I think economical and efficient. Yes, they do have some nicer models but the badge does matter. Not saying it’s right, but it does. That’s why I think Mazda has a uphill battle because if you buy a CX-5, yes the top end trims can compete against an RDX, but the lower trims can’t and that’s what the majority of people see. Subaru doesn’t have that issue because they don’t try and appeal to the luxury markets, which has probably helped them a lot since they know their demographics so well. Also, for future videos, I’d be curious to know your thoughts on Honda vs Acura. Personally I think it depends on the time period. Some times, models, Acura offers more but some times it doesn’t. To me, Acura’s dark period is 2014-2018 😂. I’d say Infiniti and Nissan, but let’s be real, Infiniti is struggling hard core so unless the deal is that much better, Nissan will win.
I pause for a moment each time I get into our 2018 RX and smell the leather, feel the most comfortable seat I've ever had, and carress that wooden/leather wheel. I love it. And the grill? Super easy to clean the bugs off those horizontal slats and I've always embraced the nod to their heritage that the shape embodies, no matter which design fills the opening. The clanky 2GR-FKS engine? The goofy 8-speed gear hunting trans? Not so much. But, I'll pamper it, use Lexus for service (just had the 60k performed....gulp!), and drive it until they deny my license renewal! It has more than enough electronic helpers to make it safer to drive (Rear Cross-traffic Alert--tres manifique) and I need no more. And it still plays my CD collection!!
As far the new LBX in europe ... yes XD as the base model is cheaper that the highest model Yaris Cross ... and we know which one is a better car even so slightly.
I used to take my Toyota to the Lexus dealer, and have them match the price of my local Toyota dealership. They never had a problem matching the price, yet I got the better experience.
I have a 2009 LS 460 that I bought in 2020. At the time, I was debating on spending 25-30k on a new corolla/used Camry/Avalon or a used ES/LS. I ended up going with the LS because it felt so much more special than all the other options and was way cheaper to buy (higher cost to own because of maintenance) . The LS has been a world of difference from any Toyota/Lexus I've driven since. I get mine serviced at the dealer sometimes because of the awesome experience and the loaner cars. Most recently, I had a fully loaded RX 500h+ F Sport. I honestly wasn't as impressed with it given that it was 15 years newer than my car. The engine felt similarly quick but dull overall vs the LS as did the quality. Leather felt hard as hell and not super comfortable. The only things that were objectively better was the tech and vented seats. Everything else felt worse. The Mark Levinson was slightly better than the one in my car, but barely. For 15 years and a 75k MSRP i expected it to be at the very least as nice as the LS and it wasn't

It is odd (kinda glaringly missing) that Kirk did not list the Venza on his spreadsheet. But when the Venza was reintroduced in 2021, it was touted by reviewers as "lexus-like" without the pricetag, Crafted in Japan, making it a car I would want to own! The earlier iteration (made it Kentucky) felt cheap inside when I test drove a couple of them.
Yea I think it is. Basically a well equipped Camry is getting close to base ES territory which has a ton of standard equipment. If you drive them back to back you can see and feel the difference. But if you don’t you will think that Toyota is enough. I drive an RX and a RC-F. The RX is definitely worth the premium over the Highlander to me.
I drove them back to back. The 25 camry was like driving in a tin can with bad door wobble and road noise. The interior had felt material to make it a "luxury" trim, and the interior plastic trim was hollow and made quite a bit of vibration noise. The stereo quality was subpar. The car drove well and I liked the gas mileage, and the get up when I needed it, but it is NOT a better vehicle than the ES. It is a value menu option when you need a vehicle.
I’ve owned a 98 GS 400 and currently own a 02 is300 Sportcross. Iv also owned a Land Cruiser and Camry. I LOVE THESE CARS! My Sportcross has over 305k and he runs so smooth!!! Wagons are the best!
Ofcourse, the Lexus looks better, better fit and finish, better build. The Crown Signia disappointing in many areas, dull design, cheap looking plastics interior....not a Lexus. Good pricing though.

Lexus did not exist back then in Japan fearing that it might fail because of the way things work in Japanese culture (they don't like foreign companies to take over domestic production, and Lexus was founded by the American Toyota HQ basically), so these models had to be branded as Toyota in Japan to avoid the backlash. The dealership experience is worth the 10K difference. I have 2014 RX450h and I just got a fully loaded 2024 TX350. Tx 350 is a good car though. It is true that the price of the vehicle goes higher ; but the build quality goes lower. However, the Toyota dealers just make me feel greedy and filthy. Lexus dealers are way better than Toyota. If I have enough budget; I will buy what ever can make me happier as a long term user.
June 2024 - just sat in an RX and an NX. Drove the NX and was not impressed. I instantly thought of heading over to the Mazda and Acura dealerships nearby. Cheap plastics resembling what’s in my F150, audible engine noise, struggle for speed. Did not feel very luxurious. Huge disappointment.
The NX is a rebadged RAV4 with better leather and turbo. Exact same dimension sizes both from exterior and interior. The Acura RDX felt like a much nicer drive.
Lexus is doing very well and better than ever nowadays .their have a excellent line up of vehicles from GX TX RX and more. These crown models are no Match or not even in the same league as Lexus whatsoever. These crown vehicles are very much like GMC were there are more posh than a normal toyota but no were good as a lexus. overall Lexus is doing brilliantly and miles better than any other asian luxury rivals. While good as any Mercedes BMW Audi and more. Kirk take a little rest.
Just went from a rav4 hybrid to an NX hybrid and I appreciate the upgrades . It’s worth it if you keep it long term since the cost per year gets closer.

Lexus as we know is the upper tier of the Toyota company when you want a better quality build vehicle. It is still that way today that a Lexus vehicle uses better quality materials and refinement than the lower-level Toyota. But that philosophy has changed over the years as Quality is something of the past. However, the automotive industry really has gone CHEAP as it focuses on Safety Gadgets to aid in driving and more computerization. I very much dislike all the plastic, aluminum, and glass used to produce a vehicle, then there is way too much electrical wiring/cables/harnesses. Alloy wheels are easily damaged, lack of sound proofing/deadening material - noise reduction, and so much more. Automobiles are said to be safer because the numerous Airbags (6 to 20 plus) they install in each vehicle makes them safer, the more airbags the merrier, which is B.S. I prefer vehicles made with steel, stainless steel, or whatever that can withstand a crash or fender bender. Vehicles produced today fall apart if you look at it wrong or sideways. Auto manufacturers build cheap vehicles and priced high for Profit. If you really think about it, the whole business world is about Capitalism. endless $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Have a 2021 Toyota Venza and had an Lexus RX 350. Both are similar in quality and ride. Both ride supple and soak up bumps without fuss. Personally I prefer the Venza for it's quiet canin, JBL 9 speaker sound system and interior git and finish. Very similar vibes for thousands less than the NX and comparable to the RX. I'll put some sound dampener in the trunk srea as I have some extra left kver from my last install but it hardly needs it. Just doing it for busy work. Love the Toyota safety sense 2.0. Love the screen thet you can shut off for long night drives when the wofe is trying to sleep. It also goes dim automatically when the sun goes down. Nice suv. Sad that it's going away after just three years. Supposedly inventory problems, Toyota lack of marketing it and taking away sales from the NX. I'LL keep mine for many years.

I have have owned two, a 1999 GS 300 and a 2005 LS 430. I still own the LS. But I switched to a different brand on my most current car. My dealership let go of all of their service advisors and hired peopled who seemed like they had no automotive service experience. They added a coffee bar that has never been open and their service is really poor. They are the only Lexus dealership in the metro area here. So, I now have a new primary car and just service my LS at a local Toyota dealership. That dealership also services my Highlander.

Also, the Germans in general are reliable enough that you won’t be stranded. I switched from Acura to BMW and the driving experience and interior build quality is just much better.

At 71 years old .I traded my 2018 Avalon in for a 2018 Lexus ES 350 . The ES350 was a nice improvement. A few months ago ,traded the 2018 ES350 for 2021 Rx 350 with 12k miles. Loving it ❤
After owning both BMW and Mercedes cars in the past, the Lexus LC500 is the best car I have ever owned.
Unfortunately the gearbox really lets it down. Toyota needs a DCT in their performance automatics. The LC500 has fantastic interior quality, truly approaching Aston Martin on the high end, but there are some fundamentals that are 15 years behind.

While the quality and features differentials aren't as wide as they once were, Lexus continues to have the best dealership and customer service experience in the industry. Toyota can't say the same. I would pay thousands and thousands more for Lexus over Toyota and do and have!
I have purchased cars for over 30 years; purchase a new, used , or lease every 2 years . One car I come back to time in and time out: Lexus. Toyotas are great too but the Lexus driving experience is exactly as advertised it’s refined, it’s affordable luxury, and it’s reliable. My last Toyota was a RAV 4 2019 model . It was bare bones . I hated how I had to install lights in all the door panels because at night everything is dark , no automative seat adjustments for my front passenger. For a cabin experience it sucked and I paid 35k for that car in 2021. In 2022 for $29k I bought a Lexus es 2016 fully loaded with every luxury you would get from a Mercedes . Night and day difference from the RAV4 . Yes my cars were completely different vehicles but nothing in that RAV4 justified 35k . The RAV4 is reliable but that’s it. My point sharing is that for the same amount of money you will spend on a NEW Toyota, you can buy a used Lexus and get double or triple the amount of features you could ever get in a new Toyota. Look for well cared for Lexus’ with low mileage and a clean & clear carfax report . Most Lexus owners don’t drive the hell out of them and they are well cared for .

Maybe in the U. S., I went to at least 3 Lexus dealerships in Germany and they were shit, really bad. I bought my NX300h from a Toyota dealer and I'm servicing it there. I get it...Lexus did not market their vehicles in Europe because diesel is still the king here...or it was, as more and more people are shifting towards electric/hybrid vehicles. It took me 3 months to find the right Lexus here, I had to give up some features to get a sound one overall. And the Lexus prices here...ridiculous, you're better off with a Toyota. I chose the NX300h over the RAV4 for obvious reasons and I don't regret it at all, this car is fabulous in its class, but the Lexus "experience" does not exist in Germany, after all the brand was created for the U.S., the politeness and care was not transferred to Germany at least, must have something to do with the culture.

I had an ES built in Japan and one built in the US. The one built in Japan never made an unwanted sound on the interior. Everything was solid. The one built in the US had a rattle on the sunroof area and on the doors. Currently own an NX made in Japan and again feels more solid and has no rattles. I have noticed that difference. On everything else they have been equally solid and reliable.
When did the ES start being built in the US? What year was yours? Im looking at older ES 350 models but not sure what years were built where.
I don’t know what year they started building in the USA. The one built in Japan was a 2018. The one built in the USA was a 2022. The NX has as far as I know been only built in Japan so far. Mine is a 2024. The 2018 ES was a tank. Nothing ever made a sound or rattle no matter how bad the road was (and roads in PR are some of the worst). Ride was very good on both models, although the 2022 was firmer. Maybe the rattling parts have nothing to do with US manufacturing, it was just my experience. But from anecdotal experience by people I know, Lexus are basically bulletproof no matter where they are built.
My 2018 es350 is made in America. The brand new 2025 and up will be built in Japan. Most used ones your probably considering are made in the US. I do believe the US ones have gotten better over time. No noise on my 2018. However I would always prefer the Japan versions but not a deal breaker for me personally. If you have a warranty always complain before it runs out as they are usually addressed promptly at no charge.

Higher Lexus models have better interior, sound dampening, and ride quality. Swapped an Avalon with a 2024 Lexus ES and the difference is huge. Lower end models feel exactly like a Toyota, that’s why we didn’t bother upgrading a RAV4 with an NX, felt like the exact same car even dimension wise.

@@chezzyperson3339 I drove the original 2019 Japanese Toyota Crown sedan in Asia, it felt a lot like the Lexus ES, very high quality car. The new Crown version we have in the States feels like a car from Wish, too much cheap plastic.

People do not REALLY, TRULY, respect master craftsmanship in America. I have met skilled artisans here, some of whom do excellent work, but they are not respected by their communities in the same way that master artisans are in Japan. It is hard to explain the difference, but in Japan if you do craft work at a master level that is a spiritual accomplishment that has no social equivalent in America in terms of how other people look at you. America has some of the best artists in the world, without question, both in terms of high art and popular art, and a lot of them do get a lot of respect, but artisans have much quieter and less showy lives and that doesn't really mesh with our understanding of what excellence looks like. When it comes down to it, I think it's because people in America generally don't understand what it means to have a sense of responsibility to THINGS in addition to people. Maybe that's something you can only have in an animist culture or a culture that really values tradition. I'm not saying that's not something individuals here understand, but in terms of the broader community it doesn't compute. When that sensibility is acknowledged by people around you it pushes you do to go that extra mile in doing your craft as well as humanly possible.

Lexus ES 350, although only a few thousand dollars more than Toyota Camry, is far more quiet and absorbs bumps better, etc. It's actually cheaper than the Toyota Crown. PLUS, Lexus ES still has the wonderful, long-lasting six-cylinder engine. Camry and Crown are both now four-cylinder and hybrid.

From 11:00 - 13:00 makes me feel like you don’t understand Lexus’ philosophy at all. Why rush to be the first to introduce new technology, when they can perfect it like how Apple does. A perfect example:
The 2018 LS and LC were fitted with all the first new technology from their TNGA platforms and they were pretty bad. The 10 speed was unrefined at the time, the 3.4L turbo had reliability issues, the LC needed 3 years of updates to finally get the ride right.
Instead of launching new cars with untested features and tech, let Toyota deal with the trial and error so that Lexus is unaffected by their issues. Look at what’s being recalled by Toyota now. All of those new TNGA F models INCLUDING the all new LX. Imagine if Lexus launched the LX and GX first, they’d all be recalled and their reputation for reliability would be ruined.

I own a 2013 Lexus RX350 with 120k. Rock solid. Runs just like the day we bought it. I also thought Toyota was the test fleet for engines and Lexus doesn't put those engines in their vehicles until proven out. They don't want issues with their luxury vehicles.
I have a 2014 RX350, 120k miles. Still runs like new and everything works like new. Interior is still flawless. I sold an SC300 Lexus coupe at 203k miles, still ran exactly as new.
Have a 2019 with NA V6, runs perfectly and by far the easiest to maintain. It’s decent on gas and loads of space and super comfortable. Getting a new BMW but I’m keeping the Lexus forever in case my other cars break down, Lexus you can always rely on

Comparing back-to-back I think the noise suppression and associated refinement is noticeably better on Lexus models, and definitely worth the extra money for highway driving.
GH HM vs TX 500h... paint quality, ride qaulity, sound deadening, door seals, larger screen, larger digital dash, power 3rd row, better 360 camera, premium wheels, 4 wheel steering, sport tuned suspension, bigger brakes and dealership experience!. absolutely worth it. think of it as a platinum plus plus, highest Toyota trim.
Lexus TX is a full blown luxury Suv with excellent power performance comfort tech features refinement ride quality 3rd row V6 PHEV and more. Overall miles different from any GH. OVERALL I feel Kirk made this video just for content .

I did not know your backstory with Lexus. I'd think a Toyota from 20 years ago, like my 06 Camry, probably has a longer shelf life than most Lexus models today. Not that you can buy those old models "new." Technology/regulations to blame, of course for high likelihood of failure or obsolescence

When we took out the new RX350h, I was sold. It is so nice. Part of me wishes the Signia had been released earlier. I asked my wife about looking into a trade, and she replied with a hard "no". Haha!
Sometimes, all we can go with are our own experiences. As soon as our local Toyota dealership was taken over, buy a large city-based ownership group, everything went downhill. I have also noticed more creaks and rattles in our '21 Sienna than in our 2006 Sienna and our 2015 Venza. The Lexus is whisper-quiet and drives like a dream.

Lexus has always been an expensive Toyota in some ways. Like the early Lexus IS, GS, and LS were Lexus specifically designed, but the ES as well as the Land Cruiser based SUVs are basically nicer Toyota’s. So I think it’s not in line with the traditional Lexus way to make everything a Lexus specific car. What I’m saying is that it’s ok for Lexus to base some (not all) of their cars on Toyotas for cost effectiveness. But I think Lexus should keep making Lexus specific flagships like the LS, GS, IS, LC, RC, etc to set them apart from just being a nicer Toyota. Overall I think they have a good balance in their product line instead of going the expensive route of all independent design like Genesis. I could ask for a bit more of a luxurious interior, but that’s about it. Ride quality, material quality, drive quality, and quality control are all spot on with Lexus. I’d say they still are worth the money over Toyota.
That and as they introduce EV and hybrid tech, especially Prime models they should prioritize Lexus in places they sell well. More Lexus owners would be willing to pay the PHEV premium and have a home to charge them to take advantage of the drastically reduced cost of daily driving them. I can see why Toyota doesn't even bother offering a PHEV for most of their models and the ones that they do the wait list is long, they can make way more money by making them with a Lexus badge.
It seems they are choosing the Toyota Prime production based on whether they have enough batteries after filling other more profitable orders, which is a very smart business move on their part.

Great video. The Care Care Nut did a video a year or two ago where he showed many aspects of comparable Toyota and Lexus models. The Lexus models all had better tolerances, insulation, aerodynamic cover under the chassis, etc. Please consider asking him to weigh in onn this topic. The problem isnt that toyota made more progress( compared to some competitors toyotas interiors and refinement is still not competitive) but its that lexus hasnt made as much progress compared to some other luxury automakers.
Nuluxe is an improvement over leather, which is why I chose Nuluxe over leather for my 2024 Lexus. If someone asks me is that real leather, I am prepared to answer, no it is better. Leather is harder to care for, more subject to temperature changes and cracking, and picking up the dyes from jeans and other materials.

To add comment to the Crown addition, just look at the VW group. They offer Skoda, Seat, Cupra, VW, Audi, Porsche, Lambo, Bentley. All with crossovers in pricing and they all sell. So I can see the Crown being an VW or Cupra equivalent then Lexus can rival Audi. Leave Toyota to rival Skoda/Seat etc
I think it all depends on what you’re looking for. For most people the Signia is 75% of what the RX is but the RX offers something that luxury buyers want which is choice, with the Crown Signia, you’re stuck with one powertrain and 2 trims, with the Lexus you get 4 powertrains, a plethora of interior options and color. Do you want just a gas engine, a plug-in hybrid, a regular hybrid, a performance hybrid?, the Lexus offers the choice, you get stuff like heated and ventilated rear seats, rear wheel steering, adaptive suspension, Mark Levinson audio etc. most people can do without all that stuff but if you can afford it? Why not 😂. Like I said earlier the Crown Signia is 75% of the RX, but the the RX definitely is worth it over the Toyota for some people plus you get the luxury dealership experience and well the badge as vain as it sounds, most people would rather be seen in a Lexus rather than a Toyota. Now I’m not gonna sit here and say that every single Lexus product that has come out has been the bees knees, cos that’s not true, as much as I love the TX, I’m not a fan of the lack of wood trim, Lexus says it’s to make the interior look more youthful and sporty but I think it makes the interior look boring. Take a look at the RX and TX which share virtually the same interior and the RX looks much better cos you can get different colors apart from white, black or dark brown and you can get actual wood trim, I also don’t like how Toyota always gets the cutting edge tech first, like the NX and RX are still such with that small 7-inch MID that is used in a Corolla while the RAV4, Venza, Crown and every other Toyota on sale as per from the Corolla get the 12.3 inch screen, or just like you said Kirk, how Toyota always gets the priority when it comes to platform debuts, that has only recently changed with the GX debuting before the LC250. Lexus doesn’t really have a performance line and I don’t think the RX500, IS500 or RCF count, they are all amazing products but the RX is a FWD based family crossover and both the IS and RC are just ancient at this point. I’m still a diehard Lexus fan but they are definitely areas that they can improve in, just like every other brand.

I test drove a 2025 xse. The gen 5 hybrid powertrain is really good. Driving dynamics might be better than a es300h, but the interior materials, NVH levels, ride comfort are no where near an ES
i’ll take a current gen ES350 over the new Camry any day.

I can tell you that where I live, theft rate and corresponding insurance rate on Lexus is sky high. That being said, I do appreciate their interior quality of materials relative to Acura. Quality in general, at that.

Kirk Toyota is setting up their top of the line brands with luxury options as Lexus becomes fully electric. Original and Toyota customers will still have a chance to buy luxury ICE vehicles. I am not worried about Toyota as a plan for their customers.

You are correct the Lexus used to be built in Japan and has better quality and craftsmanship. My dad used to have the LS 400 and the interior was amazing and beautiful.
Of course Lexus is worth every dollar if you are willing to pay for the premium over a Toyota. Although reliability is the same, Lexus owners enjoy the exclusivity, the Lexus name, the higher grade materials, the more expensive paint job, better suspension. I’ve been driving both Lexus and Toyota zillions times always prefer Lexus even it means paying more.

Sequoia and LX are not even on the same universe. The LX is literally a 300 Series in tuxedo, impeccably made. IMO, it’s a mistake for Lexus to discontinue either the LS or LX. They are flagship vehicles that are needed in a Tier 1 luxury brand just because they can. Toyota has the money to make them better and leave them even if they don’t sell a ton of them.
GX is a better buy than both LX and Sequoia
But not a true flaghip vehicle. Even owners of the new GX say they want to someday upgrade to an LX. Is the GX a better buy, of course. Does it have the caché the LX has? Just bought my first car in Feb, 02 LS430 and I cant believe how much they incorporated into that car. I also bought my second car last week for $550, a 90 LS400. 400k miles and didnt drive, just needed a battery and about 2 gallons of 93. I grew up with toyota and I love both of them! Its interesting to see the differences explained with the newer models since I only have experience with the older ones. Nice vid!

I have a 2020 Avalon TRD in Supersonic Red and hands down the best choice over any Lexus at that point in time I bought it for the money. The ES wasn't sporty enough for me, and the ES Hertz rental I drove did not impress me over my TRD. It felt old and outdated. I needed excitement! The IS 500 wasn't available yet with the V8 or I probably would of went that route, regardless of the MPG's. Although, all the roominess and 30-37 MPG I get commuting 112 miles a day makes the Avalon TRD the best choice even today. I always get compliments about the cars styling and the beautiful color. The exhaust note tuned by Yamaha is worth it's weight in gold! It's nice having a unique car not driven by everyone else in town. I have a 2007 Camry ES with 345K sitting in the driveway and I'm bored with the thought of getting another Camry. As a long time Toyota owner, I do feel the need to move up the chain into a Lexus next time, I'm just waiting for something worth wild. I don't like the new Cown's look so that will push me up to Lexus. I can't wait to see what the new IS has to offer, or the ES with an F Sport option.
@@darrin687 Avalon it is a great car for sure. I’m not arguing that. But for me I want a Lexus ES non F-Sport just because I want a comfortable car not a sporty one. You can save some money by going a Avalon that is a smart choice because you still get the same engine and transmission of the Lexus. But the interior and exterior is a different story. I think the ES looks sharper, interior feels much nicer and the most important thing is ES is quieter than the Avalon ( less wind noise and road noise at high speed). They are both great cars and you can not go wrong with either one.
Trucks I stick with Toyota, but for everything else Lexus. Lexus GX460, LX 570 and 600, LC500

I bought my first Lexus recently (08 ES350) and it is by far the best car i have ever owned. And I have owned a wide variety of vehicles including used and brand new across many brands. The quality is superb, its surprisingly fast and I have so much fun driving it. I think I will always be partial to Lexus now over Toyota and I plan to remain loyal to the brand from here on out!
We recently bought a used 08 350 Lexus and was surprised how nice the car was. $10,500 in Albuquerque.
I personally find that the 2000s were Lexus, Acura and Infinitis best era. I’m more of a fan of Acura, so to me the 2004-2008 TL, MDX, RSX, TSX were all beautiful, but also sporty. I think that’s where Acura to me appeals more is that I want some extra luxury goods but I want the sporty feeling.
Lexus can do that but it’s hit and miss. I do disagree with the renewable sources being luxury. Volvo does a great job with that, and as younger and younger generations get to the position to afford vehicles like this, I think that’ll be the changing point. I mean, sure I’d love to have real leather but if there is something that’s synthetic
that’ll not crack and is more pet friendly / kid friendly, I’m totally okay with that.
Where I see Lexus going is leaning into the sporty driving and luxury experience. When I think Toyota, I think economical and efficient. Yes, they do have some nicer models but the badge does matter. Not saying it’s right, but it does. That’s why I think Mazda has a uphill battle because if you buy a CX-5, yes the top end trims can compete against an RDX, but the lower trims can’t and that’s what the majority of people see. Subaru doesn’t have that issue because they don’t try and appeal to the luxury markets, which has probably helped them a lot since they know their demographics so well.
Also, for future videos, I’d be curious to know your thoughts on Honda vs Acura. Personally I think it depends on the time period. Some times, models, Acura offers more but some times it doesn’t. To me, Acura’s dark period is 2014-2018 😂. I’d say Infiniti and Nissan, but let’s be real, Infiniti is struggling hard core so unless the deal is that much better, Nissan will win.
I pause for a moment each time I get into our 2018 RX and smell the leather, feel the most comfortable seat I've ever had, and carress that wooden/leather wheel. I love it. And the grill? Super easy to clean the bugs off those horizontal slats and I've always embraced the nod to their heritage that the shape embodies, no matter which design fills the opening.
The clanky 2GR-FKS engine? The goofy 8-speed gear hunting trans? Not so much. But, I'll pamper it, use Lexus for service (just had the 60k performed....gulp!), and drive it until they deny my license renewal! It has more than enough electronic helpers to make it safer to drive (Rear Cross-traffic Alert--tres manifique) and I need no more. And it still plays my CD collection!!
Dealership experience- from sales to the service department- can not be beat. Worth it in my opinion

I used to take my Toyota to the Lexus dealer, and have them match the price of my local Toyota dealership. They never had a problem matching the price, yet I got the better experience.
I have a 2009 LS 460 that I bought in 2020. At the time, I was debating on spending 25-30k on a new corolla/used Camry/Avalon or a used ES/LS. I ended up going with the LS because it felt so much more special than all the other options and was way cheaper to buy (higher cost to own because of maintenance) .
The LS has been a world of difference from any Toyota/Lexus I've driven since. I get mine serviced at the dealer sometimes because of the awesome experience and the loaner cars. Most recently, I had a fully loaded RX 500h+ F Sport. I honestly wasn't as impressed with it given that it was 15 years newer than my car. The engine felt similarly quick but dull overall vs the LS as did the quality. Leather felt hard as hell and not super comfortable. The only things that were objectively better was the tech and vented seats. Everything else felt worse. The Mark Levinson was slightly better than the one in my car, but barely. For 15 years and a 75k MSRP i expected it to be at the very least as nice as the LS and it wasn't

It is odd (kinda glaringly missing) that Kirk did not list the Venza on his spreadsheet. But when the Venza was reintroduced in 2021, it was touted by reviewers as "lexus-like" without the pricetag, Crafted in Japan, making it a car I would want to own! The earlier iteration (made it Kentucky) felt cheap inside when I test drove a couple of them.
Yea I think it is. Basically a well equipped Camry is getting close to base ES territory which has a ton of standard equipment.
If you drive them back to back you can see and feel the difference. But if you don’t you will think that Toyota is enough.

I drove them back to back. The 25 camry was like driving in a tin can with bad door wobble and road noise. The interior had felt material to make it a "luxury" trim, and the interior plastic trim was hollow and made quite a bit of vibration noise. The stereo quality was subpar. The car drove well and I liked the gas mileage, and the get up when I needed it, but it is NOT a better vehicle than the ES. It is a value menu option when you need a vehicle.

They were top-end models outside Japan so they were branded as Lexus. Lexus did not exist back then in Japan fearing that it might fail because of the way things work in Japanese culture (they don't like foreign companies to take over domestic production, and Lexus was founded by the American Toyota HQ basically), so these models had to be branded as Toyota in Japan to avoid the backlash. Learn your stuff...

The dealership experience is worth the 10K difference. I have 2014 RX450h and I just got a fully loaded 2024 TX350. Tx 350 is a good car though. It is true that the price of the vehicle goes higher ; but the build quality goes lower. However, the Toyota dealers just make me feel greedy and filthy. Lexus dealers are way better than Toyota. If I have enough budget; I will buy what ever can make me happier as a long term user.
I completely agree. I have a new loaner and a cappuccino waiting, every time, even for oil changes! The price difference is worth it to me as well.
June 2024 - just sat in an RX and an NX. Drove the NX and was not impressed. I instantly thought of heading over to the Mazda and Acura dealerships nearby. Cheap plastics resembling what’s in my F150, audible engine noise, struggle for speed. Did not feel very luxurious. Huge disappointment.

The NX is a rebadged RAV4 with better leather and turbo. Exact same dimension sizes both from exterior and interior. The Acura RDX felt like a much nicer drive.

Lexus is doing very well and better than ever nowadays .their have a excellent line up of vehicles from GX TX RX and more. These crown models are no Match or not even in the same league as Lexus whatsoever. These crown vehicles are very much like GMC were there are more posh than a normal toyota but no were good as a lexus. overall Lexus is doing brilliantly and miles better than any other asian luxury rivals. While good as any Mercedes BMW Audi and more. Kirk take a little rest.
Lexus is #1 in reliability and #3 in low TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).
The Germans are very far away, in both reliability and even worse in TCO.

Lexus as we know is the upper tier of the Toyota company when you want a better quality build vehicle. It is still that way today that a Lexus vehicle uses better quality materials and refinement than the lower-level Toyota. But that philosophy has changed over the years as Quality is something of the past. However, the automotive industry really has gone CHEAP as it focuses on Safety Gadgets to aid in driving and more computerization. I very much dislike all the plastic, aluminum, and glass used to produce a vehicle, then there is way too much electrical wiring/cables/harnesses. Alloy wheels are easily damaged, lack of sound proofing/deadening material - noise reduction, and so much more. Automobiles are said to be safer because the numerous Airbags (6 to 20 plus) they install in each vehicle makes them safer, the more airbags the merrier, which is B.S. I prefer vehicles made with steel, stainless steel, or whatever that can withstand a crash or fender bender. Vehicles produced today fall apart if you look at it wrong or sideways. Auto manufacturers build cheap vehicles and priced high for Profit.
If you really think about it, the whole business world is about Capitalism. endless $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

The cost of owning a decent vehicle is outrageous. A vehicle of under $30K is a DEATH TRAP as built cheap for the POOR People. Automobiles are not affordable! All Insurance Companies are legal scams set up and allowed to operate by our United States Government as mandated by law or else there will be consequences.

Have a 2021 Toyota Venza and had an Lexus RX 350. Both are similar in quality and ride. Both ride supple and soak up bumps without fuss.
Personally I prefer the Venza for it's quiet canin, JBL 9 speaker sound system and interior git and finish. Very similar vibes for thousands less than the NX and comparable to the RX.
I'll put some sound dampener in the trunk srea as I have some extra left kver from my last install but it hardly needs it. Just doing it for busy work.
Love the Toyota safety sense 2.0. Love the screen thet you can shut off for long night drives when the wofe is trying to sleep. It also goes dim automatically when the sun goes down.
