That is so cool that you are a quality engineer. That makes you uniquely qualified as a car TH-camr (you are one, don't shortchange yourself 😁). Hopefully these fixes end the issues. I'm happy I've got one minor rattle and no other real issues with my ITS after just about a year.
Additional note: my 12.5 year old CTS-V wagon has no squeaks or rattles, I'm shocked 😳. You may want to consider that manual CT5-V Blackwing for your next car....

Before your situation occurred and before your 1st video was released, I emailed someone high up at Honda NA about this very topic of terrible service at Honda/Acura dealerships and how I foresee this affecting future sales. I am the car person in my circle and over the years I have recommended Honda because they are good cars. Since 2020 something changed and I've noticed the dealership service experience go down. I've heard these comments from family, friends and colleagues much more than normal. As a fan of the brand I emailed someone at Honda NA and to date I've heard nothing. Not even an email acknowledgement. That is terrible IMO. Because that leaves me with the impression Honda NA don't care. I think Honda Japan needs to clean house at Honda NA!

1.5t is just a trash engine. Basically they took the Fit engine and slapped a turbo on it without upgrading rods, rod bolts, and headbolts. It's ok stock but any power mods or 87 gas will kill it eventually. 2.0t is a much better engine but Type R still has cooling issues on track without upgrading the radiator.

It’s very sad that Honda has fallen badly behind. Honda has always had some issues. They were known as a budget economy car company. Thru were always known as the more reliable company. With today’s Technology, things should get better and last 10 times longer. It now seems they are going backwards.
Crazy to think companies like Audi and BMW are advancing far into very reliable now. Seems a lot more Honda and Toyota people are buying those brands a lot lately. So Audi and BMW both know they can’t mess up, so quality has to be number one.
I switched to German cars 10 years ago and never looked back. Everything is just better from drive, comfort, longevity, construction, fit and finish, power, etc.
Instead of new Honda’s, I refer people to buy certified pre owned BMWs and Audis for good prices. Then buy extended warranty with F&I guy for cheap money extended to 100k plus. Make sure to get an off lease. Thats the secret. No problems and ready to drive for a long time. The way it should be.

    1st off, great channel Que.
Next, I bought a brand new 2024 Integra Type S (ordered it back in July "23" and picked it up in RI on Feb.1 2024 (great dealership experience that day).
I also have a misaligned front clip. I had the dealer installed illuminated black A-mark installed and my guess is the dealership didn't properly re-install the front correctly. Remember I said great dealership experience that 1st day. Well, since I'm from another state outside RI, I'm pretty sure the dealership could care less about me now. I wrote my salesman several times, along with sending detailed pictures, and he never bothered to respond. Along w the front clip not being re-installed correctly, the drivers side rear passenger door is misaligned. Sent pucs of this as well. Again, no response.
I don't have the "rattle" several owners are talking about, but I do have a slight rattle from the cargo cover if the rear seats are down and a slight rattle from the right rear passenger window when it is slightly down. All minor, but I think the dealer should take care of the misaligned front clip and rear door. Other Acura dealers here in CT told me they won't do anything about it since the dealership who sold me the car should have noticed and taken care of it.
I'm writing the GM in RI and will report back.

They should have hopped on everything immediately, all those issues were so minuscule. The bumper fitment issue could be reported to manufacturers to see if they can find a solution for better adjustments. I work at the port so if we find problems like these we will create a stop order for the unit (recall) before they get transported so we and the manufacturer can fix everything on the spot. Oil leak could be a potential recall and could be investigated at the port/manufacturer. You as a customer are doing them a service since these cars are so new, you are you essentially a guinea pig for their product.

My Integra has some similar issues (its an A-Spec). My biggest issue the drivers seatbelt! I've had it replaced once already and it still doesn't work properly. It doesn't retract properly ( feels like the return spring isn't strong enough to retract the seatbelt). Also had an issue with the valve cover leaking, which they replaced the gasket. AND they had to take apart my dash to fix a rattle/groan from the dash support bar that wasn't properly bolted down. I also had the hatch rattle, which they said they fixed (they didn't), and I ended up adjusting the hatch myself to fix it. Im still chasing dash rattles, buzzes, etc., but the louder exhaust hides so much of it now.

X3 is great. Even the base B48 4 cylinder is amazing. One of my favorite 4 cylinder’s that doesn’t feel like a 4 cylinder. The B58 straight 6 is my all time favorite.
BMW is putting all the quality and reliability into their vehicles. Best vehicles ever made in America. Hands down. I highly recommend them to everyone. That’s coming from me who was a mechanic for 36 years.
I feel like Honda, Toyota, Mazda, and Acura hire less qualified people.
BMW, Audi, and Porsche hire high quality people who take pride in the finer things in life. They believe in a quality product. They know how to treat their customers.
When you get older, you enjoy the finer things in life. You also don’t mind paying for it. It’s all about the appreciation on both ends. That’s what makes the experience so good.

I did get the B58 M40i, bought a used 2019 (loaded and built before covid where they started leaving off random options) and I’ve been impressed with the overall quality like lack of rattles and fit and finish is very good. The only issue I’ve had has been leaking axle seals where they enter the rear differential, replaced under the certified warranty, and one of the active radiator shutters (themselves covered by a 10yr service campaign so not a worry and problems with them are common to most all vehicles that have them). I’m at about 50K miles now and time will tell, but from all I can find it should last many miles with relatively few problems. To be successful in a Lemon Law case you need to prove:
"The same defect or condition that substantially impairs the use or value of the new motor vehicle to the consumer has been subject to repair a total of 4 or more times. . "
In your case, you would need an expert to appraise the vehicle and testify that the misalignment substantially impairs the value.
I understand your frustration with the defect. If you want to pursue the case I suggest you get one more repair attempt, (take it to yet another authorized dealer). Then, if possible, take it to various bump shops to get opinions regarding the reason and impact of the misalignment, AND estimates to repair the problem.

It’s crazy to think I almost bought a new integra. This makes me reconsider.

Que, you tell it how it is. You're definitely my favorite "car TH-camr." It's not just Honda fixed it, let's shut up. They wait until it goes into the press. The average joe would've 100% been screwed! Hell, you were screwed until Honda really got news of it making rounds. Glad things have worked out and Honda was called out.

I had a similar problem, but with Nissan (Pathfinder). Dealer made excused and Corporate Office did the same for 6(+) months before finally instructing the dealer to do the repairs (replace and repaint). Long story short, it's not a 'bad truck," but I'll NEVER purchase anything made by Nissan/Infiniti again.

Shady dealerships are a dime a dozen, but Honda/Acura corporate treating customers like that is unacceptable... There's also the whole scandal with using HondaLink to sell all your information to data brokers... like WTF?? It's a shame because I really want a FL5 CTR or DE5 ITS to use as my daily. But the issues with corporate treating their customers like money pigs makes the conversation a non-starter.

Really dig this car, nearly bought one last week. At this price I would expect to be treated better on new car issues.

Believe it or not, I get better customer service when I take my car to Honda vs The Acura dealership. Good to see you making progress with your issues bruh. Sounds like it should be a recall for the oil leak issue.

I am glad I have a GR Corolla. Not the slightest issue. I was thinking about getting a Civic type R, but now not so sure.
