    Hey z the weird plug on the headphone itself is so that the ground is separated
    You can still plug the headphones in a dac and the mic in the pc without any issues thats great! I use my dragonfly for the sound and just plug the mic in the back of my pc

    I have older version of this called PC 360 and the only thing I don't like is the volume wheel, which cuts one side at certain positions after some time of use (common problem, not sure if it appplies to these).
    I tried HD599s and they do not sound better than this and they are super uncomfortable compared to this. I can wear mine the whole day and I never wore something remotely close to this in terms of comfort (except some cheap Philips maybe)
    PC 360 also had thick rubber cable, which keep straightening up by itself and doesn't pick up noise from clothes, I am worried that this cable will be worse, hardwarecannucks said it picks up a lot of noise.

    Used these for about 1 1/2 -2 years and only changed from them cause I gave them to sibling, who was in dire need of a headset and I upgraded ( Senn. HD58x Jubilee w/ modmic 5). Only Issues arose were occasionally, in a discord chat, if the mic was in the up (muted) position and my music was too loud or certain videos were too loud, my party could hear whatever I was listening to faintly. Another thing, I do feel like I was missing out on a bit of low end and peak loudness at times. As well as there is no break/space?? in the foam headrest for our cranium ridge thing that some people have and that I have grown to love. I absolutely loved mine and will always recommend them for $100+ PC headset.

    These went down to $90 on Massdrop - just noticed today. Just ordered a pair to compare with my SHP9500 headphones. My X2HR for some reason sound hollow compared to the SHP9500. The SHP9500 sounds very full and well balanced. So far the SHP9500 sound the best compared to the MH752 and X2HR. I've probably spent 30-40 hours watching these videos. Now I'm wondering if the X2HR only sounds better if I run it through some sort of DAC/AMP. Using BoomPro mic, have tried the Apple USB C to 3.5mm adapter, as well as a CLIPTHAT USB C to 3.5mm from Amazon (which actually sounds really good to me). I'll let you know how they sound compared to the SHP9500 when it comes in.

    hey guys, so I want your opinion on this.
    Looking for a new headset, mostly not from massdrop, since most of them are unavailable in Europe.
    I was thinking about buying a hd559 or hd 599 (previous versions like hd598 not availabe) with a modmic 4.0
    I mostly play rpg's, action, metroidvania games, like skyrim, dark souls and hollow knight, but also fps games like overwatch
    I previously owned the hyper x cloud revolver s, but was not as satisfied with them, in terms of comfort (did not like the earpad material) and sound.
    Would you recommend hd559 or hd599, also compared to my previous headset?
    Other great recommendations for headsets/headphones under 200 euro's?
    Any help is appreciated, so thanks in advance for reading.

    I like mine but I find them a bit anemic compared to the Hyper X cloud I had, strange. Especially regarding bass. You talked about a cool headset a few months ago, Vokyl Erupt and I'm looking forward for this one. Argon MK3 look great for gaming too, I'd love those bass on Borderlands 3 but the amp it needs scares me :P Not sure it would sound great at all stock on mobo.

    • @DarkMarkison
      @DarkMarkison 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I find the bass on the hyper x to be retarded. To me it seems like the bass is blocking out sounds in the midrange. The reason I use the pc37x instead if better headphones is that they are just so convenient to leave plugged in

      @MrSeifer159 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DarkMarkison I got the PC37X recently, I guess being opened back is new to me so I must learn to enjoy it, opened seems to suppress the bass, but overall I love it better than my dead Hyper X, it's so light, easy to listen with for hours, sound is pretty clear and mic is godlike.

    • @DarkMarkison
      @DarkMarkison 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MrSeifer159 That's awesome to hear. All new headphones take getting used to, especially since your old ones were pretty different. If you listen to just the sennheisers for a while, youd adjust, because the clouds kinda are a pretty ridiculous baseline. They're good headphones though. They are the first I recommend for a gaming headset if you want noise cancelling, but personally not being able to hear myself speak drives me mad.

    • @HOTSPEEDMike
      @HOTSPEEDMike 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Wet Noodle Very similar in terms of looks, GSP series is made in Irelend with attention to quality both sound and build wise. Of course they're not as nice as HD800 giving the huge price gap, but they're much better than 500 series and PC37X for just a bit more cash. I don't know about USA, but here in Ewurope GSP500 can be bought for 170$. Much better option than 120$ PC37X. Better sound better mic better build quality construction and pads.

    These are actually very warm and almost muffled sounding treble with music. These don't come with a 2 to 1 3.5mm adapter, but you can get one cheap enough to use these on game systems, phones etc. that use a standard 3.5mm jack. With game systems like PS4 and XBONE, they aren't very loud. As is with many other headsets, you have to turn the headphone volume up from within the system settings. The volume dial on these should just be turned all the way up, otherwise they aren't loud enough with a game system. If you like loud headphone output for your game systems, this isn't the headset to get. The dark sound is okay with video games, but there isn't a lot of bass present, probably partially due to the semi-open back design. Bottom line, these are okay for gaming, bad for music. The HyperX Cloud, which I also have, is better overall and costs less. The grey/black version, which are branded as the XBONE version, has been $49.99 at Amazon. Those would be a better option for anything using a 3.5mm jack over the PC37X.

      @Caleb Chavez Iterestingly, I find that theyre not that fun for gaming (not that good for immersion), But in music they are great! they are a bit on the medium-low, and medium-high range of frequencies, but great on all of them. They aren't top tier, but overall a steal for their current 90$ IMO.

    • @Twiggyshayz
      @Twiggyshayz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Caleb Chavez What is worth mentioning is that they open up in higher volumes. I mean, you need relatively high volumes for the best experience. Also I only got them a few days ago, and I still need to get used to them.

      @Caleb Chavez Don't know these headphones, but I do have to say I recommend the PC37X. While they are not the most immersive in games, they do offer great competitive sound in games (very clear where footsteps are coming from, etc), and like I said, I REALLY enjoy listening to music on them right off the bat.

    Would anyone know how these compare to the 'Game One' headset?
    One odd thing I've noticed about the Game headsets is that it's almost as if having the wheel at minimum (with windows turned up) and having the wheel at maximum (with windows down low) gives different kinds of signatures. Having the headset at low gave a lot more low/mid presence while having the headset at high (and windows at low) was almost brighter?
    I've not done a serious test on that but was just curious if anyone had observed the same behaviour here. (albeit with different changes)
    My Game One's have started to break apart here and there (after many years I should say). I considered HD559s but if these are better, that's tempting.

      Just another youtube user the ifi probably isn’t going to be much of an improvement over your q1, but it has a lot of cool features so if you think those are valuable, give it a shot. I think as a rule of thumb, most affordable DACs sound the same.

    How the Sennheiser PC37x compares to the Philips SHP9500s?

    • @Icy_Igloo
      @Icy_Igloo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@KevinTheFirefighter I have both the PC37X and I use the Philips SHP9500 with a Vmoda Boom Pro. I have toggled weeks/months between these and my conclusion is this (having preffered one and then the other): Assuming you are talking about gaming:
      Sennheiser: Clearer more precise sound. Great for gaming - strong isolation of noise, clearer and better identification of the location of footsteps. However, they can be firm on your ears/head and whilst I wouldn't quite call them uncomfortable, you know they are there. At the end of hours of gaming, it is a relief to take them off. It isn't terrible and you can live with it, however after experiencing the Philips, they definitely feel worse.
      Philips: Much more comfortable. More "Open" and wider soundstage however it is not as precise as the Sennheisers meaning that in the big open area around you, you don't always notice those footsteps until it is too late, and you can't pinpoint exactly where they are as easily as with the Senns.
      Summary: Senns - fantastic gaming headset however they aren't the most comfortable. I use the Philips a ton when I am at home working and doing conference calls - they are great, and very very comfortable - by far the most comfortable headphones I have.
      Microphone: The Vmoda boom pro mic just poops all over the Senns. It is much, much more natural sounding. The Senns are ok, but the Boom Pro is far superior. You can't plug the Vmoda Boom Pro into the Senns due to the difference in plug (as per this review).
