The K712 has a really good soundstage but I assume not HD800S level but from listening to oluv / clavinetjunkie's sound comparison between HD 800S and HE4XX I can't bear to listen to the 800S. But yeah, would like a bit of an upgrade for my Arctis 3, one which has a built in mic, and one I can plug straight into my PC. Yeah I use my PC38X headset paired with the EarStudio ES100 Amp/ DAC (improved greatly over onboard Asus Rog STRIX X670E-F)
    The PC38X is simply great in general for whatever you would use a headset for: Gaming, Music, Podcast, etc.. They especially shine in Gaming obviously - I mainly play Destiny 2 and just wow.. There's a reason the vast majority of reviewers rate the PC38X's the best gaming headphones, they aren't kidding. They excel outside of just "gaming" as well.
    I just wish they offered the PC38X without the mic for like $150 as I use a a SHURE SM7B for my mic, regardless at $180 all considered they are still a bargain.

      I'm pretty sure Sennheiser designed their gaming headphones with eSports in mind because I've seen them sponsor LAN events for some competitive games. And as far as I can tell based off of reviews I've watched the HD800S are the benchmark when it comes to soundstage and imaging in headphones. PC38X are probably the best at an affordable price point.

    Can you do a comparison between the tygr and 38x? (Because you previously said the tygr was the best gaming headphone) and also the 37x vs 38x to see if it's worth an upgrade for someone who has the 37x?

    Having used both, I prefer the 560 s for gaming. The clean bass helps you sift through sounds to tell what's going on.

      @yosixxx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I've heard a professional player say the same thing, that the detail of the 560S helped them pay attention to multiple enemies surrounding them at the same time better than the pc38x

    • @PD-ws4td
      @PD-ws4td 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@yosixxx I think I saw the same video. He also said that the imaging was better overall on the 560s. The PC38x looses some of its imaging when something is above or below you, but the 560s fixes all of that. I could be wrong tho.

      Fresh reviews says the same. His main headphone is hd560s plugged to Mayflower arc or zen dac. At the end the 3 top contenders are HD800s, hamonicdine Zeus and hd560s and even with the "advantage" of hd800s he dont recommend paying that much, he as well had tygrs (awesome imaging for small maps) and k712pro (weird center imaging)

    • @DHTGK
      @DHTGK 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      these are all obviously better guys, but this video is about a headset. Obviously, the quality would be worse to accommodate for the mic, but it offers convenience in not having to buy a mic. Obviously, it would also be better to just buy a separate headphone and mic, but still. This headset is still a leading contender in the best headsets, not headphones.

    • @ammar3094
      @ammar3094 ปีที่แล้ว

      huge difference in price tho considering the pc38x all in can be bought around 130$ whereas the 560s is around 170$ + 70$ for a similar quality mic to the pc 38x + $$ for an amp/dac because these kinda need it unlike the pc38x. So might sound a bit better but 130$ compared to $300+ isnt worth it imo

    Is there a set of headphones that you would recommend that sound like these but don't have the built-in mic? I'd rather use a standalone microphone and I'm looking for a set to possibly replace my hyperX cloud 2 headset with a different dedicated set.

    How are these for immersion? Bass response? Some people play non competitive games, if you had to choose 1 for Both music and gaming, this or 560s?

    • @evshrug
      @evshrug 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This will have a higher amplitude bass response than the HD 560S.
      The HD 560S will sound more realistic if that’s how you define immersion (like me), but I know plenty of people (like Mad Lust Envy) who define immersion by having more bass and more excitement.
      I have used the PC37X as my daily driver since it came out, and I published the first review of it on the web (still posted on the Drop page). I have both the HD 560S and PC38X coming to me in the mail (no pre-release samples this time), and I’ll be shooting comparison videos about all three. However, in the end, I always think it’s up to the viewer to decide which one seems more appealing to them, based on the info provided, so I won’t try to influence your opinion with my biases.

    Are any other good alternatives when you talk about the sound stage to the PC38X?

    • @evshrug
      @evshrug 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      PC37X? Though the PC38X is probably better.
      The HD 560S headphone (no mic) will have a similar width soundstage as the PC38X, but it’s leaner sound signature and higher dampening ability should cut down on masking and distortion and result in a better perception of sound stage distance and depth.
      Other headphones with a similar lean sound signature will focus on those details too, but headphones that combine that with the angled drivers in the HD 560S and PC38X are rare. Angled drivers cause the sound to interact with our ears a bit before going into our ear canal, which gives our brains a bit more spacial information as well. And of course, the headphone’s driver (speaker) ability to resolve little details makes a big difference in the information our brains use to understand soundstage.
      Any closed gaming headset or headphone will have a smaller and more compressed soundstage than the PC38X, unless you’re constantly competing with background noise in your environment (IE traffic, lawn mowers, people talking, etc).
      The PC38X is going to have a pretty darn top soundstage size among your options below the really expensive, high end stuff. It has a lot of stuff going for it in that department.

    What about open design? I have 560s for music and I use wired over-ear momentum 2 for gaming and I have tried 560s - I cannot hear steps at all just because of my notebook fan noise. So 560s is absolutely unusable for me. Do you game in super quiet env to use open headphones or do you put them very loud?

      just get a better dedivated computer for gaming becuase i know where youre coming from, im guessing a gaming laptop which are noisy asf. I wouldnt say they would make my experience using open backs unsusable but defenitaly better on a much quieter Desktop Pc. Unless your volume is set to max but sounds too low so id reccomend getting a Zen Dac for much more volume if thats the issue.
