Thanks for covering the M Y penthouse. I was getting a “Cannot Charge” message even though it would super charge and home charge. Tesla said they replaced the penthouse cover and I had no idea what it was. I have no clue what was causing the message it was very intermittent. About 2 weeks average between notifications. Anyway you assuaged my curiosity and I will never ever be tempted to remove the penthouse cover.

6:55 The metal ribs (ratchet) in the pyro-fuse are spark arrestors - they isolate and cool the HV spark when blown under load.

How difficult was it to remove the PCS? My car might need a new one. I am getting a pre charge failed boost error.

Hey Dan. Really appreciate you sharing all this info on your channel. It's helping other custom car guys out more than you know. Did you make any videos about the galaxie conversion ?
Like you, I can't emphasize enough as to the potential danger lurking in these batteries for unskilled or untrained people. I guess we can't stop people poking around so the next best thing we can do is to warn them and maybe offer important safety information so that no one gets hurt. Ev conversions for old cars are going to boom just like retromods so it's better we share information than not in my opinion. Just emailed you. Looks like back to the old design on yours. You need to remove the entire top cover to access the pyro fuse. BE CAREFUL!
