- Learn how to calibrate temperatures on your 3D printer and resolve fluctuations! EDIT: I refer to the port on the Ender printer as a 'Mini USB', I should have said 'Micro USB'.) Applies to most 3D printers including the Ender 3, 3 Pro, 3 v2, 2 Pro, & 5. As always, you assume all risks and liability when working on your 3D printer. LINKS:

This is just in time thank you! Just got a new thermister because my hot end would flux 5 to 10 degrees and didnt even know about this being a thing!
Glad it helped you :)
I've shared this video with at least 50 folks now. Great information!!
Very informative and good information - instruction. Thank you.
New to 3D printing. Just watched a few of your videos. You explain things very well and to the point. Thanks and keep up the good work. Subscriber now - looking forward to more of such great content.
Thank you!
Thanks for the content!!!
I have 3 ender3 v2.. and 1 of them take a long time to heat up !!
Can it be a PID calibration problem?
Thank you. Yes, I can only echo "just in time!".
Marlin firmware seems to be fine "as is", but Jyers crashes badly with thermal runaways or "killed print", nozzle temp to low, etc. So I'm back on Creality/Marlin which currently seems to run ok. I'd like to try Jyers again. He really has some nice features.
Question: Is there a way to first see what the existing/current values are, before going into this process and change it?
Thanks. I have an Ender 3 v2
Thanks for this awesome info video.
Hi, this also works on the new Ender 3 V3 SE? I have the same problems
Thank You :)
You can do this from the front panel on the Ender 3 Pro if you have Marlin 2.1. It is on my machine anyway though I have not tried it yet. Okay, maybe it does not work. It just says processing, please wait, forever. I will use octoprint to do this then.
Decided to use Pronterface anyway. I started the PID autotune and it seems to have worked though the temperature change was not reflected on the printer's display until after the autotune was complete. I am going to try it again.
Interesting. I have a BTT 35 display and I had to put back to Marlin/text mode in order to see the temperature changes.
thank you so much my printer finally works
Aloha thank you for this video really help me understand more about my printer. Will this work on my cr6 se ?
Yep!
What else can I do with this software to improve my printer sir?
@@frankieventura9923 Pronterface has a lot of functions to control your printer directly from the software, I'll have to consider doing a video covering them sometime.
Where does M500 store the settings? In the firmware in the printer , or, on the SD card? (which I hope not. SD cards are all over the place in my office)
It saves it in the firmware :)
Thank you so much man
Thank you so much for this. I put a ''smart'' plug for my printer and it was crap. It messed with the pid because the power that gave wasn't consistent.
Thank you very very much. 🤗
Do i have to keep tuning "S###" if i decide to change to different filaments? Thanks
Only temperature.
Ok please help. I downloaded it, connected to my printer. But top left corner doesn’t have anything next to the port and it just says connecting it doesn’t say printer is online. What do I do?
All I can suggest is trying a different cable to connect.
Will this work on my ender 3 v1? I have a 4.2.2 board
Indeed it will!
@@Tombof3DPrintedHorrors Thanks!
Bro it’s not working on I’m on Chromebook I need help because I just bought a new CR touch and my bed keeps glitching and when I click print my belt skips over to the right I don’t understand I need help.
I'm sorry but I do not use any auto levelers like CR Touch because they can create more headaches than they are worth so cannot advise you on this.
when I hit connect its telling me could not connect, error could not open port?
Try a different cable.
@@Tombof3DPrintedHorrors So I got it to connect, started the process, and I got a warning on the printer saying "Thermal Runaway" any ideas?
What did you do? I’m having the same issue
💕👍
When connecting an Ender2 V2 motherboard, make sure that your machine is turned off, with Pronterface program already running. Plug your cable in, connect using COM9 BAUD 115200 and then turn your printer on to do your tests. You welcome.
👍👍👍👍👍
Great video! Thanks!
BTW. It's called a Micro USB cable, not a Mini USB cable.
D'oh! You are correct, thanks!
A quick note: Use Micro USB not mini USB
Pssst... read the video description. ;)
@@Tombof3DPrintedHorrors OH sorry, I don't notice it, but thank you a lot for helping me out to install brand new hotend and all jazz
