My Pebble 2 just gave up last month. The plastic buttons opened up. I really hoped they were able to release the Pebble Time 2 before they shut down :( that device has a good build quality and colored screen and would have lasted longer than the Pebble 2

Pebble is still my choice. I'll be using it till my Time dies and and I can't find a replacement. It's still so good (thanks to rebble.io)

I was the same way, I got about 4 1/2 hours of sleep every night for 3 years until I did some research into neuroscience and advanced college studies on what's sleep.
Trust me man you NEED to talk to a smart medical professional about sleep and work with them to improve yours. Sleep is vastly more important than any work or play.
When you're sleeping your body empties out your limited memory supply and as well as solving problems in your sleep and synchronizing your brain through pulsating chants. It's pretty interesting and all of that stuff is factually proven.
Still running my Pebble 2HR. He does everything I need him to, and does it with style. Most weeks I push 5-6 days with heavy use. On a vacation where I decided to leave my phone behind, on airplane mode my watch lost 30% in 6 days. I love this watch

I'm wearing a Fitbit Ionic! Love it! With the onboard GPS and music storage I don't have to hassle with my phone clunking around in my pocket while I run. I also love how sporty the Ionic looks.
Still rocking the FitBit Blaze from 2016. Super basic but gets the job done, but I am thinking of upgrading. Great review!

Still on a pebble time. Give me one with GPS and music playback and I'll pay anything.
Then get an apple watch, I have the model with GPS and I can listen to my Apple Music library I have saved on my watch through wireless earphones or speakers

Get a Samsung Galaxy watch active.. Has on board music storage. (Also works great with spotify) better and cheaper than apple.

What did you like about Pebble that you miss with other wearables?
@@mdrahman6732 oh various aspects! The e-ink screen and physical buttons. The Pebble just handled the basics (notifications and basic fitness) really well. Then on top of that the battery life was always stellar compared to more mainstream smartwatches.

@@mdrahman6732 Battery Life, Viewable screen in bright daylight, waterproof (really great for swimming), and so customizable via the app store. Still love my Pebble Time (and still have my original Pebble too)
@@fatproduce have you looked at the Garmin products? Their battery life is great, screen quality is ok, does notifications and great health tracking. It does ok as a smart watch...

I’m in the first gen Fitbit Versa and liking it still. I have a Apple Watch 3 and a Samsung Sport sitting in my drawer.
I love the sleep tracking and the details on this watch. I rely on that a lot. It’s much more accurate than Samsung and I hate having to rely on 3rd party apps for Apple.
Also, the battery life is amazing. Obviously.
It also does a better job than the other two of automatically recording random work outs like basketball and bike riding and hiking.
I’ll probably give the Versa 2 a shot now.

Got the Fitbit Versa at launch last year. Plenty happy with it. Multi-platform support is great. Used it with an Android, Lumia 950, and currently an iPhone Xr.
Fitbit bought Pebble and it is a shame they didn't make a Pebble like watch yet... : ((

Enjoyed the video, great job! FWIW, still using my Pebble Time Steel with Rebble OS. Steps, sleep, dictation, voice responses to email & texts, lots of useful watch faces (can change on watch), maps, directions, act on incoming phone calls, control media, use as camera remote, etc... I am amazed at how relevant it still is for me. Battery life is probably about 5 days now which is still pretty good. As Fitbit improves and my watch wears out I'll probably make the jump to a future versa with more features.
I got a Mi Band 4 and I love it does everything I need and lasts about 20 days

I had the Moto 360 back in the day, then Pebble (rip) but switched to the Withings watches after pebble died. I’ve been rocking the Steel HR for the past couple years, and I LOVE IT. Over 20 days of battery life, sleep tracking, step and workout tracking, hr monitoring and notification support. And I get compliments all the time on how handsome it is
I'm using a Garmin Vivoactive 3 and very happy with it. Screen can always on and gives me a good week, and run tracking is spot. Does just enough smartwatch stuff for my needs!

Great video Mr. Mobile. I still love my Gear S3. I never had a Pebble, but based on all of the devoted fans, I feel like I nist5 have really missed out.
I can't believe that to get all the features i want in a smartwatch i have to keep going back to my #pebble. My pebble time steel is sometimes rebooting but it still does everything better, faster, and for longer. So does my #pebble2. What is wrong with companies today unable to make another long lasting, swim friendly, notification responding, app friendly, fitness ready, smartwatch that doesn't cost a fortune and even those don't last! Maybe the #amazefitBIP? But I've dry there really aren't apps MD it is only IP68

Thanks for this review I really needed it. I just purchased a Fitbit inspire hr and was having a bit of buyers remorse after seeing the versa 2 and finding out that I can’t reply to texts on my watch and it doesn’t have an always on display. My main focus for this watch was to count my steps and have my watch sync with the weight watchers app on my phone tho I could do both with an Apple Watch I am an android user so enough said. After watching countless videos I found yours and it was short and to the point and now I am content with my purchase.

Regarding how long it takes to change the watch face:
I'm not sure if there's been an update but I got the Versa 2 today and it only takes 5 seconds to switch between faces.
Derugo i think he meant more that you should be able to change it on the watch
@@stantonclark He was complaining about both. The time it takes to change the face of the watch and where you're able to change said face.
The clock app on the watch allow you to change clock face.
When is the Galaxy Watch 2 2019 coming out?

Been rocking a Samsung Gear S3 Frontier since May 2017 and I still get a day and a half out of the battery after it being my daily driver for the whole time and even going as my main mobile device for a week in December of 2017 when my LG V10 decided to bootloop on me. Overall very happy with the watch. One of my favorite features by far? Standard 22mm clasps for attaching watch bands. Makes a new band just a couple pin changes away. Use it mainly for notifications, step and sleep tracking. Couldn't be happier with the device. And it still gets updates too!

I think the withings Steel HR is a great inbetween a smart and dumb watch.
This is late, but now with the ScanWatch out, it’s an even better in between watch.
I love my galaxy S3 frontier. As a paramedic it gets me through my daily tasks.

I pre-ordered the Galaxy Watch Active 2. Although I have an iPhone, I’m impressed by the amount of features it still has.
I am still wearing my Gear S3 Frontier and loving it. I will never understand why Samsung ditched the rotating bezel and magnetic card emulation for Samsung Pay in their wearables. Plus I'm still stuck with S-Voice that will occasionally tell me it can't understand what I am asking out if the blue. Mostly during meetings.
The Galaxy watch does have the rotating Bezel though? The active is a spin off
Remove its permissions for asking for your voice data--I had that happen to me in an update a few months ago, and it hasn't bothered me since :)

Been using a Ticwatch E2 for a couple months and have really enjoyed it. Not an eye catcher but functionally a great watch (Wear gets a bad rap but really isn't bad at all). Had a Fitbit Blaze way back as my first wearable. Main things I miss are sleep tracking and wrist alarms because battery life was great. I just use more smartwatch features than lifestyle trackers
I'm still using my gear S3 and it tracks my sleep and steps really well only thing I wish was better is the battery.

my mum bought herself a versa 2 when i bought myself a fossil Q Sport. All because of your videos on them.
I use the Fitbit Ionic. Still one of the more fully featured fitbits - the gps is nice and you can get some fancy cover sets for it. Also the long battery life is pretty important to me.

Gonna keep my versa 1. I really like the additional buttons that I have mapped to some functions such as a timer.
I stopped wearing a smartwatch nearly a year ago, I'm glad they are making improvements. The lack of GPS may have been a security decision.

@@gish85 me too. My wife had the versa 1 and it drove her crazy. And me crazy since she was always asking me to help her fix it. She finally switched to an Amazfit Bip and loves it. But she still misses her Pebble time round.

Jason Ong the series 3 is still better than the versa 2. Because it’s more of a smart watch and still has all the good workout apps and etc. I’d always go for Apple watches. The technology in Fitbit isn’t well established as of yet that’s why Apple is the leader of all smart watches currently. Just google it. Goodluck 👍
I worn a couple of cheapy fitness trackers before I got the Charge 3. I really like it, the nfc feature is really nice and the battery lasts almost a week.
Here's another comment with 'Pebble' in it - I still use a Pebble Time and I'm pretty happy with it. Got it second-hand and it still lasts 5 days on a charge. My wife has a Versa 1 and it's perfect for how she uses a smartwatch. By the way, I recommended it to her months ago based on your very review. So, once again, thank you very much for your work!
Don't know what you're doing with your Galaxy watch but I get 4 days out of mine.
Same here. I noticed a battery bump up after the latest software update. Lasts me 3 to 4 days of constant use. Sleep tracking included.

Versa 2 owner here, yes some of the flaws are there. Changing clocks is a pain and the process has made me not want to do it. The proprietary charger is clunky and doesn't sit on tables right. Alexa can be slow and clunky and it's better to respond to messages using your phone. It'll be quicker and more accurate. Summoning alexa requires using the buttons which is less easy than just saying "hey alexa". It also can't write messages or call people, only respond. However, I find using assistants for andriod based smartwatches.... bad. anyway. Unlike Samsung smartwatches, it's a more passive assistant than an active director. But, you get better battery life, and as long as you're happy to exercise with your phone, a great exercise companion. It's sleep and steps are fairly accurate for me. For it's price, it does a lot. 7/10
