    I 100% love this car. My first car and would love to beef it to it's full capacity like fog lights,new air intake,etc. I hate seeing professional reviewers rip apart this car but I have heard not a thing about mitsubishi unlike Ford, Chevy or even Hondas and Toyotas. It needs to be part of the whole group, regardless if it's three cylinder engine.

      I have had one just like this for about 5 years or so and I love it. Dependable, and my gas tank can stay full for two weeks being driven every single one of those days. Granted I drive no more than 20 miles a day on average, thats still great.

      Mostly because it sounds like a bucket, and car reviewers have driven too many BMWs that have raised their standards in comparison to this car's poor feedback and soft suspension. In this class, the Mirage has the largest boot space, while having lighter steering and more safety than Altos. It should have the highest performance due to an extra 200cc of displacement. More expensive, but the more practical choice

    I have a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage ES CVT with Navigation-Back Up Camera Package, Park Assist Front & Rear Sensor Package, Chrome Package, Cargo Package, Exterior Sport Package, Color Keyed Bodyside Moldings, All Weather Mats and more.
    When I got mine it had pretty much every option from the Favtory you could get and I love it. I average about 40 - 45 MPG in town and about 47 - 50 MPG on highway if I am careful. But driving at a normal pace and and reving the car up it will still easily achieve the 37 city 44 highway ratings with out trying. The highest steady MPG I have got was coming from Altoona PA to Cumberland MD (just over a 1 hr drive) I got 56 MPG steady.
    As for the 74 horsepower it runs great and has no trouble on hills or merging onto highway and the CVT holds revs where you need them to give you a steady power flow. In town it keeps rpms low for great MPG and on the highway cruising at 60 MPH it revs around 2,000 rpm which really helps it to get the great gas milage!!!

      The $900.00 Navigation System with Rear View Camera is amazing. It twlls you if you go over the speed limit, can set it to pick up radar and give you a visual and audible warning the the Navigation. Plays DVD Movies as well and is just packed full of amazing tech.
      The Park Assist Package gives you 4 rear sensors and 2 ffront ones on each corner for parallel parking as your pulling in and out. Also the beeps emitted for the Park Assist go hand in hand with the guide lines on the rear view camera which is nice.
      The chrome package and exterior package give the car and extra bit of flare and give it a semi sporty look. The 3 cylinder engine really is a fun little engine and I love the way it sounds.

      +Kevin McKenzie Yes but to save money I would just advise people to buy the DE model and then swap out the radio with an aftermarket unit (that includes backup camera, Navigation and so forth)
      Check out "Pumpkin Android" on Amazon. For $300 it has backup camera and integrates perfectly with Android, mirrors your screen, runs Waze, Google Maps and pretty much any android app..... Its like having a tablet integrated into your dashboard

When I ordered my Mirage I was able to get it with every option they had available because I wanted a loaded one but we could not with the Elantra. I have had a 2015 Mirage for 7 years and I have to say it is the most incredible small car I have ever owned - 7 years amd 130,000 miles and I have never turned a bolt or screw on it. I have driven it all over the US and I usually get 45 - 55 miles mpg kinda unreal mileage have actually got 60mpg a few times. I love the ride and it is so roomy inside. I think the mirage is the best kept secret in the car world reason being the other car companies like spreading lies about it because they know for the price no way can they compete and build a quality car like the Mirage.

      Correct you are! I’m on my second and I love mine too & plan on it being the last everyday vehicle I buy. Well, with the exception of a G4. I’d really like to get one that had the 2-tone matching door panels. I think only the 2017s were equipped like that & now the black edition ones are getting matching upholstery on the door panels. They are great little cars. Period.

    I just signed the papers on a 2015 1- owner mirage DE with the 5 speed manual in Reef Blue with 16,000 miles. I will come back when I drive it for awhile. the dealer was closing as it was a Saturday so I'm picking it up on Monday after it is fully detailed. I already love this car after a test drive and it's comparable to the feel of my 1995 vw golf sport. the clutch and gear box feel really solid and I like the way it handles, even with the soft somewhat topheavy suspension it makes turns with ease and the seat bolstering really holds you in comfortably 🙄

      +Rodrick Davis The wheels are ICW Racing and can be found with free shipping online, but I had a local shop order and install them. 4x100 lug pattern and High Offset. You will need hub centric rings to center them. Most places will give you everything you need when you buy the wheels and tell them your car's make... The Ultra Racing Sway bars I had installed at NextGenTuning. I actually emailed Ultra Racing in Malaysia and they told me to go to NextGenTuning as they were the closest dealer to my location and lucky for me they were only a few towns over!

    It’s now 2023 January. We bought our mirage new in 2014. It has now traveled just over 160,000 kilometres. Three months ago we started having trouble getting the gear shift (manual car) back into first gear!
    It was diagnosed as the synchromesh in first gear has let go. Okay no big deal,just got to stop completely before going back to first gear so we kept on driving it.
    Several weeks after this we noticed that it was getting very hard to select second gear when going back from third!
    First to second is fine but going third to second for whatever reason was near impossible. Okay so clearly an issue here. We went to our local Mitsubishi dealer and here in Australia an new gearbox is $3,000!
    We can’t afford that so I bought a low k second hand gearbox and had that installed. All good again. But since then I was told by Mitsubishi that they had yet another manual mirage come in that also had lost synchro in first! It’s looking like a common issue for these gearboxes.
    I was annoyed by this as you would naturally expect to get more than 160,000 k out of a gearbox.
    Has anyone else had this issue?

      Cosas buenas:
      1- no hagas Uber
      4- tienes que aprender a darle a tiempo sus mantenimientos básicos si no puede que se te complique en cuanto a la mecánica ⚙️, su cambio de aceite a tiempo ⏱, bujías, Correa de distribución, filtro de aire de motor, etc.. para que ahorres combustible si no no ahorra nada y puede que se te dañe algunas cosas más complejas

    As of 3/19 i pay 20 or so to fill it up gas will last about a week at least for me it does..i travel bout 5-10 miles per day..so yea..my only gripe is if I'm on 95 highway the lack of power.. It feels like I'm pushing it too hard.. Would like to see Mitsubishi upgrade the mirage to a four cylinder in the future at best..other then that there are minimal repair cost..just basic maint. Ex. Oil tires brakes etc. Great car overall!!!!!

      If your on I95 the highway or going 95 mph on the highway? These cars are just fine on the highway. I do 70 -75 mph on my daily commute everyday through a big city. It's fine.

    • @stevensmith8648
      @stevensmith8648 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Geez in Illinois 55mph is the speed limit but cars do at least 75mph if not backed up.No problem doing 85mph in mine but I'm not gonna push it beyond that.It is not a speed demon.

      Wow! Thamnks. What about the 'need for valve adjustment'...I have nevr in my 35+ years of driving, had to have valves adjusted in any car i have owned. What is it, and is it true? I think it is in your list of replies....oil changes is not a big deal,someone said it is like $60. But do it yourself for $35...still Syn. oil I do it now on my cheap old 4 cyl.car. So..valve adjustment,what is it, and is it true???@@MikesCarInfo

    • @MikesCarInfo
      @MikesCarInfo  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mrpoohbearlvr Modern cars have self-adjusting valves using oil pressure. I assume this car would be the same.
      If it has solid lifters then yes the valves could need adjusting after a long time but it is a fairly simple procedure for a mechanic.

    Motsubishi could have done better if they ignored the car snobs and went even more sparse. Lose the weight and problems of electric power steering and lose the power windows for more reliable manual and let it be reflected in the price. I wish they had the balls to make a true economy car.

    • @aaroncostello8812
      @aaroncostello8812 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +James Southworth Agreed. They make a Mirage for sale in Canada that has crank rear windows and no AC. It has an MSRP of $9995 CDN, which is less than $8000 USD.
      If Mitsubishi sold that car here, I don't think they'd be able to make them fast enough.

    • @shepdshepd4667
      @shepdshepd4667 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought one of those for $8995 because it sat on the lot for two years (guess nobody wanted one in pink, LOL). Adding power steering is really easy and I did that. I don't need any other features and I'm really happy with it. It actually saves about 50 lbs on the weight having so little stuff. :)
