I did not need to remove the intercooler pipe. If I remember correctly I just removed the mount support bolt and pushed it out of the way. I did not need to remove any coolant hoses. Thanks for watching.
The engine mount can stay; it has enough flex. The transmission mount does need to come off to remove the transmission. With an engine support bar, you can pivot the engine and transmission so you have more clearance. Need to be mindful of the other items still attached, though, exhaust, electrical connections, and coolant hoses.
@@willpoweredgarage969 so a 6hr will be 18hr for me lol. When i get closer. Ill revisit this vid. Clutch made some weird noise other day. Depressed clutch and went away. Im Thinking something is happening. Hasn’t made a sound since, in 100 miles or so.
I did since I was in there and the clutch was slipped so bad. I did it off camera unfortunately. I think I have a video of how to bleed the clutch. I will have to look. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Thanks for posting a video, I'm diagnosing a clutch issue of my 2011 TDI wagon. Nice to see how they have the clutch hydraulic system setup and how to bleed it. I have a clutch pedal that's sticking/getting stuck on the return. So I'm hoping bleeding it with fresh fluid will fix it. How bad is it to replace the master? The slave looks pretty well buried in the transmission.
Hello, its actually not to bad to replace the master, Just tricky to get under the dash, just like anything else. A lot of times the issues are at the slave. Let me know how bleeding helps. Thanks for watching.
The torque specs for a factory dual mass flywheel is 60nm + 90 deg. I also seam to remember some sort of sealant needed for these bolts since they are threw holes and will weep oil over time if not sealed.
Not sure what you are trying to say. It is a triple square bolt. If you where to look at it you could trace out 3 squares, hence the name. A google search will confirm that. A hex bolt (Hex, greek for 6 ) means it has six sides. This is not a Hex bolt.
This was a customer car. I can only recommend a change, I can not force them to do it. Not to mention, these engine are not known for rear main seal leaks as much as the 2.0t and 1.8t gas engines are. Thanks for watching.
@@willpoweredgarage969 i was looking for a video on replacing the starter for a 2011* tdi but couldn’t find any videos on it, that’s why i started looking at clutch videos because i knew at some point the starter would need to be removed
Good video, I also liked your video you did on timing belt for VW, gave me the courage to finally do mine.
Thank you so much for checking them out. I'm glad you were able to tackle it yourself. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for recording this, appreciate the time and effort you put in
Thanks so much for watching, i hope it helped out!
thank you sir
Edit: gained a sub!
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Great video, made me feel allot more confident. Thank you
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching.
So how many ft/lb of gudug a duggas did you tighten the flywheel with your airgun
usually until its about to strip. lol The actual torque is 60-70Nm and I like to use a bit of blue locktight.
Another vid i watched said you had to remove turbo air pipe and coolant hose, is that not needed?
I did not need to remove the intercooler pipe. If I remember correctly I just removed the mount support bolt and pushed it out of the way. I did not need to remove any coolant hoses.
Thanks for watching.
Ive been looking for a video to see how to replace the clutch slave cylinder on a 2012 mk6 jetta tdi with 6speed.
Thanks for watching, I hope this helped.
Doing this on 1.4 2017 jetta. The flywheel bolts don't line up. Any tips?
The flywheel bolts are not symmetrical. Try rotating the flywheel until they line up. You will find the pattern that way. Thanks for watching.
Did you have to loosen driver and passenger side engine mount bolts to allow for clearance in removing the tranny?
The engine mount can stay; it has enough flex. The transmission mount does need to come off to remove the transmission. With an engine support bar, you can pivot the engine and transmission so you have more clearance. Need to be mindful of the other items still attached, though, exhaust, electrical connections, and coolant hoses.
How many hrs is this job? I dont think i can do it on the ground in my garage.
Its about a 6 hour job if you have never done it before. you should be able to do it without a lift and just jack and jack stands.

Did you also happen to change the internal slave here? Im afraid my 2014 sportwagens slave just failed...

Hey man! Great work and thanks for all the explanations. Where is your shop?
Great, Thanks for watching. I work out of my home shop out in LongIsland.

do u not torque the flywheel bolts?:s

Lol it's not a hex bolt. It's literally called a triple square. You must not work on european cars.
Why didn't you replace the main seal while you was in there? Bad move

Honestly wtf you don't film the crucial part.... Instant turn off
What did I miss? Let me know so that I can try and help you out!
Awesome video, thank you. do you know if the starter is in the same location on the newer jettas? 2011 +
Honestly off hand I do not. Why do you ask? Thanks for watching!!

How did you lift that gearbox with no jack
I used my Muscles. The manuals are not very heavy and with a lift I can get it up easily.
Fast forwarding through unbolting the transmission was not the play bro
If you can not figure out how to unbolt the transmission I would suggest having someone else replace the clutch. Thanks for watching.
