Thank you for having me! Mel is an incredible interviewer and a force of nature
I hope this message makes it to Thais! You are truly an angel of our time when it comes to behavioral health and wellness. As a long time member of PDS I can’t thank you enough for how you’ve helped me heal through some incredibly difficult time. Thank you for your work and sharing you knowledge with the world! I hope this brings more people to Integrated Attachment Theory!
This is so nice to read Jordan and fills my heart! ❤ Thank you for your generous comment!@@jordanward881
Bob made a cameo! I love it 😂♥️
This was an awakening session. I have deeply gone inward working on myself. I continue to study myself, and have been reflecting g for a good 5 years now. I has given me a deeper understanding why I reacted to lessons (circumstances) along my journey. Thank you both! It's been hard to put things into words to my partner. We are celebrating 23 years of marriage. It has been one hell of a rollercoaster, but have facing adversity together in our own way. Taken alot of patience, and compassion.
Sooo good to see you here!! I hope this means you’ll be on the other podcasts I watch regularly! Super excited for you!!
You are whole.
You are worthy.
You are enough.
And you are so loved.
The inner child in me is sending your inner child a squeezer hug and love. Your history does not determine your destiny, you do.
Take care.
You deserve the best and I pray you receive it.♥️
Girl I could be a mass murderer you don't know me!!!
Why would just these words bring me tears?
@@Yellowspider1776idk, it's not like she's talking to you
Thank you!
@@Yellowspider1776because it is what we have been dying to hear our whole lives!🙏
I literally never comment on post but to see the two people who brought me out of the darkest place I have ever been after finding myself in a relationship with a narcissist. Between really embracing the High Five habit and the Let Them theory and all of the amazing resources at PDS I can’t explain how you have both transformed my life! Thank you both for everything you do! This was the Christmas gift I didn’t even know I wanted. Wishing you both many blessings and again…thank you! You are truly SAVING LIVES. PS…Thais’s work was what finally pulled me out of 15 years of active addiction to opioids in a way I never thought possible so when I say you are saving lives…I mean it!
This is wonderful to read Jordan, thank you for sharing ❤
❤🙏. Glad you never gave up!!! Life can be so dang difficult and we walk thru hell for so long and when we conquer our fears and traumas and additions to become more healthy it’s amazing! ❤️ sending love and light! 🙏
Congratulations on being sober, I'm not sure if that's what it's called. Do you mind sharing what or how it helped you beat the addiction to opioid? If you don't mind me asking?
@@faridaaminy9734 my apologies for the delayed response! I am just now seeing the notification for this! That is a great question! Unfortunately I don’t have a great answer as I feel the process of overcoming addiction is truly unique to everyone…and maybe even less of a great answer when I say honestly even with almost 5 years of sobriety it is a war that I’m still and likely always will wage. I will say this battle is unique to everyone but if I had to describe the turning point for me it was when the the pain of battling withdrawal daily became more of a problem to me than the “quick answer”. My brain had to really believe that the “pain” of withdrawal was AND the cost of literally and figuratively of taking pills was not as bad as continuing the cycle of addiction. I also happened to find myself in a position where I was able to move to a new state due to a job opportunity my partner had so the timing and everything just aligned. Add to that, that I found PDS and was able to do the work to identify and meet all of the needs internally I was outsourcing to pills or people and that really pushed me over the edge. With that said, that was as a process that had A LONG run way and most of all I had to learn to forgive myself and become the person I had been looking for to help “change my life”! It truly is a brain disorder and I was at the right point in life with the right opportunities present! My apologies as I know that doesn’t really answer your question but I hope in some way this helps!
Protect this woman at all costs. Thais Gibson & the Personal Development School are life savers. She is an international treasure! ✔️💯💯💯

Amen! Completely changed my life for the better!!!

So are you.
And each of us…
Been beating myself up for years with insecurities.
I’m over it.
I don’t want to lose my wife and kids and I will fight for them.
That means fighting to be self confident and attract the people who are naturally attracted to me.

This just blows my mind. I always thought I was an anxious attachment, but in reality I am the fearful avoidant. Wow
OMG…I feel the same!
You read ATTACHED by Amir? I too. This video still helps after reading that book?

I’m feeling the same! Anxiously avoidant here.
I love Thais! She literally helped me grow in so many areas of my life. Growing up in an East African home, where the only emotion we knew to express was anger, and expressing your needs or boundaries was a taboo, Thais wisdom has helped me to literally reparent myself at the age of 47. I’m a Somali-American woman, professionally successful, but who grew up in an enmeshed, codependent, parentifying culture. I never knew I could say “no” and feel no guilt or shame, honoring my boundaries. I’m grateful for all I’m learning and applying from Thais classes. Thank you! ❤
I have been following Thais Gibson's work on TH-cam for years and have been part of her Personal Development School too. Her work and the courses she provides in her school are life changing! They are such empowering tools for anyone to have if you really wish to deeply learn about who you are, build self-compassion and find more satisfaction in the different areas of your life. Essentially you are building a better relationship with yourself and as a byproduct, naturally everything else just fell into place because I could recognise and communicate my needs, I knew what I wanted and my vision for my future looked so much clearer. I am always recommending her videos and her work to people! ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words about The Personal Development School!
The team and I were overjoyed to read your comment ❤ thank you
❤
I have already commented here but I just have to add having rewatched this again (twice in one day) .. Thais Gibson has a Phenomenal ability to to break down the science and theory in a very compassionate and informative way with very practical and tangible tips. THANY YOU Mel Robbins and Thais Gibson 🙌 !!!
❤❤❤
I Agree you need to listen to this podcast more than once. There is SO Much Information 👍🏻💚
Totally agree! I've already listened/watched 3 times and plan to listen a 4th time!
My goodness....I knew I had am anxious attachment due to parents having to deal with my very sick little brother at the time. BUT to hear this woman describe me to my very core, triggers, love language, dating habits ect is astonishing! Listening and eager to continue my healing journey ❤
Yaaaassss❤❤❤ I’m 50 and this info would’ve been wicked valuable at age 30😂😂 xo I cried right away listening to this. Powerful interview
After awakening and learning new morning routines, I've learned I need about 3 hours before work to tear down, build up, journal, decipher dreams, pray, meditate ascend, and raise my vibration. 😂😂 sometimes learning is so responsibilitating 😂😂err something like that.
I am so happy to see the two women I look up to strongly have come together for the community ❤❤
Same!!!!🎉
Mel Robbins + Thais Gibson = Mel Gibson.
Some very important information I needed to transmit.
This is excellent. Should be taught to us in the same manner of “love languages”. These two methods should be taught in schools - life principles.
Thais changed my life, she gave me a level of awareness that transformed the way I looked at all my relationships. So happy to see her on your show.
❤❤❤
Thais is a miracle worker. Not only will she thoroughly and compassionately explain why you are the way you are and how that came to be, she’ll show you how to heal from it in actionable ways. You’ll also learn what your personal needs are and how to meet them yourself so as to keep your proverbial bucket full. And that’s just the beginning. Cannot recommend PDS more. It absolutely changed my life.
Thais Gibson and Heidi Priebe are the best sources for understanding attachment styles. Attachment theory has gone a long way from the initial research with babies decades ago.
When Thais Gibson started to explaining 'avoidant attached' the tears started flowing.
Hi Mel,
I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful content of your videos on TH-cam and your sublime Podcasts but, most important of all is, I lost my mum in June and she was the only person to tell me that she loved me every day. Now, when I hear you say this to me when you are signing off is the most heartbreaking and, at the same time, most beautiful thing I get to hear, and so, from the bottom of my heart, in case no one tells you today, I love you and I believe in you and thank you xx
Oh my goodness I am dismissive avoidance and my husband is so frustrated with me. He just wants to know what I need, and I literally have had no clue how to ask for help or how to clearly see what I need. Thank you so much for this! It's possible for him to see who I really am now. It's been so frustrating for him and at times he blows his top (yells) and I shut down then all that negative self talk comes back. So exhausting to be in my head. Thank you Mel😂❤
Dear Kete channey,I have been alone now for two years, after five years tolerating unbelievable abuse..now that I’ve had time on my own squirming in agony and heartache …all I can say is it’s a time thing…you just adapt and learn to live with it slowly over time it will faid to a point where it won’t even concern you any longer..then.. you’re free/heald and can relax into your new life of new found happiness- be patient this type of pain runs deep and will take immense stamina, but you can do it,and will do it…think positive.go for it..good luck…take care…we’re thinking of you and wishing you well.peace & love too you
Personal Development School changed my whole life's direction!
Really encouraged to see great speakers like Mel talking about the topic of attachment and growth and relationships, and emphasizing as well the relationship with oneself. For years, and after thousands of hours of working with people, they go hand in hand. One's personal growth which means building a relationship with themselves on an emotional level, directly translates into greater success in relationships with others, absolutely including attachment style. In fact, I would say that anxious or unhealthy attachment styles should be seen by people like a check engine light to look inside and get to work more on connecting with themselves, and not as some sign that they are damaged and broken beyond repair.
Si what do we do when they pull away????
@@deboraregner2822 get closer to yourself, practice securely being there for you
As soon as I saw Thais in the thumbnail, I knew I had to watch! She is incredible and has changed my life in an accelerated manner. I’m forever grateful! I’m not a fearful avoidant anymore.🙌🏾🎉
Thais is the OG and the best at explaining attachment theory because she understands it the most. I've been following her and others who aren't as good as her for years, and I'm happy to see her on this podcast!
The way she explained the attachments is mind blowing. It’s made me look at myself and others in my life completely different and better equipped to handle things
Self - evidence you are worthy of love
Others - evidence other people can love you
Repetition + emotion = 21 days to make a new habit
Yes I agree. Anxious people often abandon themselves, also known as "losing your identity", as commonly referred to because they give their own power away when they put so much into relationships with the other person (often the avoidant type). The anxious person gives and gives and relies on the avoidant, hoping to also gain in return. It can come off as clingy, but as you said it derives from abandonment.
I become secure with myself and I feel like I'm just playing myself like my partner isn't being real with me 😢
Mel: Your last words: I love you, I believe in you.. made me tear up as I was putting extra makeup for work because I cried myself to sleep.
Thank you for what you do. ❤
Oh my god! This episode just changed my life! I will be listening to this over and over! This brought so much clarity as to why I am the way I am! Thanks so much Mel for bringing this guest on! I appreciate you both!🙏🏼
So excited to see Thais Gibson!!!
If you are not in the PDS school, run! Don’t walk!
Once you learn under Thais all other self improvement learnings will fall into place for more full secure life.
Great seeing you off PDS, Thais!! 🥰
Thais was sent straight from God, I swear.
❤❤❤
Mel, I can't explain it, but I sort of look at you like my mum. You are just so empathetic, relatable but also supportive. Thank you for never giving up on us and showing us that we can be and do better. Thank you both!! (anxious attachement here)
I ‘liked’ this video even before the interview started because I knew it was going to be good … and it darn well was 🙌
❤
I had a therapist touch on this with me and then she ended up leaving the practice. Im so grateful to find this video so I can learn more. I have a lot of work to do and I hope I can find another therapist that can help me with this. I'm so grateful to the both of you for providing this gold treasure of knowledge that we all need to know xxx
Don’t worry about therapy. Do her online courses through PDS and you’ll save so much time and money and radically improve your life ❤
10000% I worked on the school for about a year and I have done a lot of previous counseling and group counseling and nothing has compared to the coursework. Plus it was super affordable and she does a free two week trial so you can see what it’s all about.
Thais is awesome!💖💖 I was.a fearful avoidant who became much more securely attached thanks to her amazing courses on PDS. Highly recommend her courses for anyone wanting to heal their insecure attachment style
My two favorite people in the mental health community coming together ‼️❤️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thais changed my life she is an amazing human being.
Thais has kind of changed my life. I found her about a year ago and she is especially accessible even to those like myself who have a TBI. Her work is so wonderfully accessible on youtube (like I can only imagine what’s in the actual PDS program) which has helped me get through so many major moments in my life as a fearful avoidant!
the full satisfaction of longing, communication, certainty and interdependency only comes, when you are securely attached to your inner self and others around you. You want to get to the bliss stage with that relationship however short lived. I could never understand this simple fact that relates to me in so many ways if I had not use my time and listen to all the sneezing videos of thais from long time ago. The work, amount of care and concern has went to this is beyond mind blowing. I am almost 40 and I feel I have so much to learn. I wish you both nothing but the best. ❤
Thank you so much for having Thais on your show Mel! Thais has changed my life! She is a trailblazer on integrated attachment theory and no one out there brings it into lamens terms like her. I've been a member in her school for close to 3 years.I was 80 percent DA .and am now 70 percent Secure and attracted the right man into my life ..Fantastic show. Thank you
✨OMG I can’t believe you have Thais Gibson on your show!! I’ve been a student / member of the personal development school for years now and absolutely love it and love Thais!! You have no idea how excited I am to watch this video and am so glad you’re helping to get the word out about her and how she can help people better themselves significantly! ✨
❤❤❤
This conversation will probably save my marriage. 😊
this conversation will save ME after i finally had the strength to leave a bad marriage! i don't think my husband has it in him to meet me in the middle. but im going to go there anyway, for myself.
I'm watching this as I'm getting ready for my EMDR appointment. Thank you both for this topic discussion. I'm better and better everyday
As I’m listening, I’m realizing that I’ve gone through all 4 of these styles in my life, not at the same time, but in different stages of my life. Thank you for the wisdom 😊❤
PDS has changed my life for the better- I actually dove into her integrated attachment theory work in therapy (did my own research and brought it up to my therapist) and accelerated my healing journey. Forever grateful and I am talking about this with my friends too
I've spent over 40hrs listening to Thais in one week recently. She has such an intelligent and in-depth knowledge in this impactful subject. Many hours with Mel as well. It's fun watching Mel sense the same 'whoa-wow' information about this subject. Thais is doing a powerful movement with this and she's an asset in our own life, our relationships, our workplace and future people in our lives. Thank you both for each of your investments in your passions. It's been very helpful in my life forward.
I’ve taken several courses at the Personal Development School back in 2020-2021 and they completely changed my relationships and how I love myself. This stuff is life changing if you’re willing to look inside and want to change.
Wow. Just wow. I can’t even articulate what this episode and piece of information meant to me. I was not familiar with Thais work, I’m so happy and excited to go deep in my attachment style and start questioning those patterns. This is such a life changing gift Mel and Thais, thank you so much for giving it to us. Now I can’t wait to put my hands on everything Thais has put out there in content 😂 ❤
I love hearing all of this. No matter what attachment style I am - I do not want to display ANY of the negative attributes to any of those attachments.
Absolutely love Thias Gibson! She literally helped me change my life and understand human behaviour. Now doing a degree in Psychotherapy to help others ❤
❤❤❤❤
Thais changed my life for the better. Couldn't have enough gratitude and appreciation for her work.
Omg ~ anxious attachment style that’s totally me from my early childhood. Wow 😯 I am so thankful that I am finally connecting to myself. Everything you described in the conscious reprogramming. I am just tipping my toe into meeting my own needs or making myself a priority. I am so thankful for your talk ❤
Wow, I had to stop this before midway, to take a deep breath!!! This has been most helpful, and such an eye-opener it nearly brings me to tears! 🤗🤗
Oh my Goodness!! My mom is the anxious avoidant type. She’s the nicest sweetest person you know, but will never prioritize herself!!! She has always been last even to herself!
Thanks for the opportunity, Mel. If podcasting is in the cards for me I’d want to tackle it in 2025. Allow me to tie up other loose ends so I’m not fragmented in serving, AND I want to have messages of value to pass along, which I feel I’m still accumulating. Truthfully, I love one:one therapy & coaching and believe in the thrill you must experience in reaching millions of listeners for their edification via podcasts. I ask for your prayers so I’ll be doing the right things at the right place at the right time. With Love, Helen
Thank you so much Thais and Mel for this amazing talk. Like many, I thought I was so cool and independent but truly I am avoidant and while I've made lots of progress (thanks to my amazing husband and friends who are making me a better person without even knowing it), I was so happy and relieved to learn we can break free :)
I’ve listened to a lot of attachment style videos and this was hands down the best one. The way she explained them coupled with the great questions to dig deeper and provide some examples was very impactful. Thank you!!
This episode definitely changed how I view myself. It answered so many of my questions I have asked for years. I have signed up for personal development school and it really makes you look at the deep side of your life and attachment style. Thank you to both of you ladies for showing up every day and help me navigate my new life. ❤❤
Somehow I used these strategies,, without even knowing that therapists use this. I did this on my own. This video confirmed that I am on the right track.
So happy for Thais to get the recognition! She has had a major impact on my life! ❤️❤️❤️
The best explanation I’ve heard on the various attachment styles - particularly the first avoidant type - I could picture someone to a T (along with myself with the anxious type).
But learning how to actually CHANGE your attachment style with this meditation method - well, I can’t express just how grateful I am. Thank you both immensely 🙏🏽
I LOVEEEEEEE THIAS!🙌🏽🥰🙌🏽 Her work has changed my life! I have been following her work for 3 years!🙌🏽🙌🏽 I love her heart!❤️

I’ve been on a journey of self discovery for a couple years now and have been listening to you as part of that journey. And I cannot express how important this episode has been. This has by far been the most eye opening one and I’ve shared it letting everyone know the importance of this for their own a-ha moment!!

She studied multiple theories and applied to her life and her work with clients
Can you be securely attached and then be in a relationship or string of relationships that push you into another attachment style? Can the trauma be experienced later in life and not necessarily in childhood?
