I’ve done a video testing out the kaiweets laser. But just marked the nogs and nailed the wall to the line, I haven’t tried building them up 1 by 1 tbh I might give it a go but you get stuck in your ways don’t you! Haha Cheers for your comment 👌

Mate I’ve only just switched myself . My laser goes both ways and squares the room . Mark the head plates on you nogs and trusses and away you go .

Interesting video, at how the bricklayers got away with not putting in the window profiles in as they lay the clock wall? As I know on our site they are built in, to make them solid! Also, you must use a lot of timber, doubling up on your sole plates? I guess that's just your site specs!

Yeah I know, normally they do I think they probably weren’t there when it was going up so had to retro fit them haha! Yeah just the spec with that builder so it all accounted for. Cheers for your comment 👌

On the last site that I worked on a guy asked me, well chippy how much are you worth here? I replied I’m worth £200 a day! and he then said that’s good money, but then I laughed and said to him, Yea I’m worth 200 but I’m only getting 150!

I've been doing 1st fix about a year now I'm. Worried I'm a bit slow though I can be in a plot about 4 days doing stud fix and things like window boards straps etc I am. Working alone though

All depends on the size of the house I think. I wouldn’t worry about speed really that just comes with time on the job, a year is pretty small length of time so your doing well 💪

think we get about £110 but get extra for removing sacrificial joists, temp handrail, protection and building out underneath

ashley davenport firm I work for we get £40 for a straight set, £80 for a single wind stairs and £120 for a double wind. If it's a double wind but you can make it up on the floor it's fine, but when you have to build it from the top down it's a pain in the arse for the exact same price.

@@generaljph5256 yeah its alway easiest and fastest to build them on the floor! as long as the total rise has been measured properly and the newels are level haha.

£40 for a straight set?! What are your governors smoking? No less then £70 down south for straight, £120 single £150 double

All pretty even tbh if you do it in good time. I just prefer front end stuff more than 2nd fixing and stuff!
