If the plasterer has fitted the door opens and they're not the right size then that's nothing to do with you. You did well considering a plasterer fitted the linings, personally I wouldn’t of taken the job unless I fitted the frames myself! I’d up the price for hanging oak doors to considering how heavy they are and awkward to fit on your own! What a bummer with the van breaking down hopefully that’ll be it for van maintenance now for a while then 🙏🏻
Having a similar issue at the moment mate. Doors in old frames. Frames that need adjusting and frames that need making good after removing old locks. All the extra work will add at least an extra day to the job but can’t charge anymore, and my professional pride won’t leave them looking unfinished, so will be taking on the chin too. Ohh and I recently got hit with a bill for a new turbo in my van, so I know the pain you are going through.
Bite the bullet and do a full service now, belt - water pump - accessory belts etc. it’ll sting but will keep your number one tool (the van!!) reliable and keep you earning.
Can i just add , here in Finland if you want a quote for a job , and they get the job . They actually charge you per km to drive to you or to any place they might need to get stuff from. Usually €0.55 per km
Doors can be a real pain sometimes. I learned years ago to charge for the problems I can't see. Here in the States, CA. I charge labor only, $350.00 interior slab doors, scribe, fit, and install hardware. Exterior slab, scribe fit, $750.00, hardware is extra. Exterior prehung, R&R, $1200.00 to $1500.00. In this business since '79. Very nice work you did there. Yes, my 2007 Ford F150 work truck has its issues as well.
Firstly why wouldn't you use a proper marking guage for the hinges if you're cutting them out by hand? A Stanley knife isn't for marking hinges out, not when i was at college anyway. Surely chop your hinges in the frame first, offer the door in and then transfer your hinges onto the door? By a transporter. Just my opinion
At least you don't let it get you down mate. Keep smiling, if you can laugh during the shit times then you will always be happy and that's all that matters really

Every single door i fit in older houses has bowed/twisted frame legs! And ive yet to find a house (that i do at least) that has a level head! Ive some doors to door soon where the heads are 20mm out of level! Side by side as well so they are going to have to be the same. Cutting the doors to that is a none starter so no other option than take off arcs and adjust frame while door is swinging. Going to be a tough one. Oh and the legs are bowed as well! Not good
