HIGH PROTEIN VEGAN MEAL PREP | FULL DAY OF EATING

  • Hey Guys!
    My name is Natalie Matthews. I am an IFBB Bikini Profesional athlete in the sport of bodybuilding. Welcome to a Vegan Full Day Of Eating during my improvement season.

    ** OVERNIGHT OATS **
    Makes 1 serving
    Ingredients:
    *50g oats
    *1 scoop (30g) Tru Banana Maple Protein or plant-based protein of choice.
    *77g frozen blueberries
    *1 tablespoon chia seeds
    *28g Nutiva Vegan Chocolate Hazelnut spread or nut butter of choice.
    ** PROTEIN BEANBALLS **
    Makes 4 servings
    Ingredients:
    *120g vital wheat gluten
    *60g garbanzo bean flour
    *260g fat-free refried beans
    *2 teaspoon garlic powder
    *2 teaspoon baking soda
    *1 teaspoon salt
    *4 oz of water
    **Bake at 350F for 25 minutes
    -
    Warmup:
    I do all moves for 10-15 reps
    1. walking lunges
    2. band walks *make sure to not let knees cave in, keep them under control.
    3. elevated banded glute bridge
    4. banded side lunges
    5. band wall sit * hold for 30 sec and pulse 10-15
    6. banded glute bridge
    7. stiff-legged deadlift
    I usually start my leg days with sumo deadlifts. I try to do 2-3 warmup sets of sumo deadlifts before I get into my heavy working sets.

    I am SO glad to have found your channel! I am eating vegan again with the intention of sticking with it. I know that I do better with higher protein so It’s really nice to see a day of eating with a lot of protein.     You are the queen of seitan Natalie. I bought the stuff years ago but the recipes I have seen on TH-cam were so complicated, time consuming and in the end, not that tasty.
    I loved a flight you did were you made lies and sliced in food processor. I have been doing this every week since that vlog, putting the slices in wraps and on pizza that I make and sinetines just eating a few on their own.
    You did a nugget version which is very easy as well. I found that if you marinade the nuggets before baking I was able to make the best vegan Caribbean Curried "Goat" ever. I am so happy with this.
    And now "meat" balls!!!! And again quite simple to do.
    I an not a body builder bit am in my 50's and eating a vegan diet. I need higher levels of protein due to my age, so I am loving just how simple this is doing it your way.

    Great advice about letting the food cool down before you put the lid on and put it in the fridge! My lids always get water on them and then my food is gross, now I know why!

    PlantFusion's protein powder always delivers on consistency for me! It's like DUST it's so finely milled. Great for making mousse or a non-chalky smoothie.

    My favorite is the Blessed chocolate coconut flavor! Blessed is so good and doesn’t make you bloated bc they only use one source of protein and it’s the best I’ve ever tried! It’s so good even just mixed with water 😍

    great video natalie! i just got a new job position so it was helpful to see some meal prep ideas for things i can take on my work lunches. definitely want to try the root veggie hashbrowns if i can find something similar at my grocery store! i’m loving your channel - it’s such a refreshingly real approach to fitness and diet. i’m very petite too and haven’t been able to find silicone rings that fit me :( can i ask where you got yours and what size they are? i need a size 3 i think!

    I've used vivolife protein for a year now and I really love it! Love the fact that it's all natural and organic, and my personal experience from using it is that I just get so much more energy from it. Also tastes really good!..

      @@starstreet46 Hard to say what comes from the protein powder and what comes from just getting stronger in general, (also as I started weightlifting at the same time as I started to use vivolife) but since I started using it, I havn't been sick one day, my skin have become better, I have more energy and I've gained more muscle mass, so to me it has been only positive!:)

      I have! The chocolate is so so good! One of my top favorites... It's perfect! It's too expensive though. It cost me around $60 for only 15 servings...I don't want to pay that much for protein.

    Gorgeous! I’m trying to figure out how to build muscle & tone while doing I.F. Any ideas? I feel like I’m not eating enough & I have to workout at home.

      You have to track what you're consuming for a few weeks to figure out what your baseline calories are.
      From there you adjust. decreasing to loose bf or increasing to add muscle mass.
      -
      With workouts, you have to track your progress. You want to make sure you're progressing. Strength gainz = muscle gainz
      -
      Is different from person to person.
      -
      If you're unsure how to start, I recommend getting a coach.

    I love the look of those bean balls! It's been a hot minute since I've used vital wheat gluten--I used to make my own seitan every week and I LOVED it. It's a little time-consuming to make so I need to carve in more time to do so!

    Just one question about your overnight oats...you mentioned you add the “wet” ingredients the night before, but you don’t mention what you use as a wet ingredient and it’s not listed in the recipe. I’m assuming a non-dairy milk like Almond Milk, or water, but what do you use and about how much? I was going to make it last night but didn’t have wet ingredients in your recipe!

    Question: (Nutritionist) Keith Klein posted on FB yesterday a breakfast shake for peeps on the go: essentially egg whites, fat free milk and no sugar Nesquick. I asked in a comment if I could substitute soft tofu for the eggs and hhere was his reply: Why would you want to do that? You’d be turning a weight loss shake into a weight gain shake. Absolutely not! Tofu runs about 50% fat! Higher in fat than T-bone steak. Since your chickpea curry tofu has been part of my meal prep for awhile now, I'm wondering if I'm derailing my goals. (Using the Trader Joe's high protein tofu.)

    Botanica Perfect Protein is great, 4 ingredients and no stevia/sweetener. I don’t agree with pea protein which is usually top 3 in most plant based proteins! Also brown rice is very gritty unless paired with other sources ☺️

      I eat a flexible diet all year round even during competition prep. Around 3 weeks out from a show I eat pretty plain and boring to keep things predictable. If I crave something, I can always make it fit my macros. I like to start prep anywhere from 16 to 20 weeks out from show day. I like to give myself enough time to make sure that I'm ready.

    Have you tried any of the other 1 up nutrition vegan flavors? I forget what else they have but I tend to be more of a vanilla girl so wondering if that one is good!

      I tried the chocolate and vanilla... I'm a chocolate girl lol so I like that one better. I made pancakes with the vanilla one and they where delish! 1up just came out with a PB one! I can't wait to try that one out too.

      I do black coffee. I haven't found any pre-workout that I absolutely love... so I stick with the basics. Just black coffee.

    I tried the beanballs and epic fail. OMG, they looked sooooo good, and had an amazing texture. But the taste? First batch way too salty and as much as I love garlic they tasted like garlic powder. I made a second batch and again I’m not sure what the problem is but they are not pleasant to eat. My hubby and older tried and didn’t enjoy them either....help!

    So I'm willing to bet throughout this whole offseason improvement process ... that Natalie's abs will be visible leading right to when she steps on again. 😌 Just an amazing level of body composition management. ( R E S P E C T 🙇 ) .... so my 2nd favorite part of this (behind Natalie + 💪 ) is the donut lifting weights shirt. 😊 And it triggered my curiosity of what's Natalie favorite toppings to have on a donut ?? Mine is white frosting, with chocolate chips and sprinkles. 😏 So all in all ... more good stuff here ... BUT ultimately I only like this vlog because George says to do so. 😂😂 😜😜 *teasing*

    Ghost lifestyle peanut butter cereal milk Vegan Protein! THE BEST tasting vegan protein out there, I’ve tried them aaaaalll, vega , sun warrior, orgain, 1up, optimum, rule 1, evolve, owyn and the list goes on and on lol. Theirs is not grainy at all smooth and soooo peanut buttery😛😛

      I went downstairs to GNC and got what I thought was this protein powder - only to see on closer inspection that it says "whey" lol. Where did you buy the vegan version?
