Good catch Ross! That wire could have been a fire hazard or shock. Please don’t call yourself a moron you are a very bright young man. Good video and thanks for sharing.

Looks more betterer, nice job. That's the thing about farmers, we have to wear several hats, mechanic, farm hand, cowboy, carpenter, lawn care worker..........etc, you get my point. Enjoyed the video, thanks Ross, have a nice weekend.

A good improvement courtesy of the local "big box store". Just like a plumbing project, one trip seldom completes the job!!!

It's like dating a teacher. If you don't do it right the first time, she will make you do it again until you get it right.

Depending on what she looks like it might be worth screwing it up more. “Sure we’ll track him down and give him his luckiest boy in America medal…nice.”

Ross, as a retired electrician there should have been a single throw double pole switch in place there for safety. especially if circuit breaker is not shut off. A single pole smiths will shut off the motor but it will not shut off both hot feeds to th3 motor when operating on 240 volts single phase.

Hey Ross, as much as you make things more better, I wonder how they got that way in the first place.

It doesn't matter if you have to do things twice or not, making things more better is the main goal. Looks great.

The close up of your screwdriver with the bit swapping tip ... I recently realized my $3 Harbor Fright screwdriver with the reversible shanks and the ends of the drive tube happen to be common machine screw hex head sizes, like for taking apart the washing machine. Not that I'd know anything about taking apart a washing machine, recently, again. So those HF screwdrivers are even more handy to have several around than I thought.

Ross, that’s what the photo portion of your phone is for, so instead of brining able to talk to someone or do your banking , you can take photo of things . Just in case your memory fails . It never does or will. Just look at our leaders.

Youll need that kinda switch becuase of the amperes.. a 15a house light switch is no match for 20a motor switching

You are starting to scare us by fixing wiring that should have been fixed long ago. Good job. I would have suggested not pulling that 3rd wire out of the cable. It could have been used to supply power to a weather-protected receptacle at the motor which would have been great for powering lights and etc. when needed. Great video Sparks.

Ross, just like that Jaws movie; "We're going to need a bigger boat!" switch due to the motor amp draw at startup. New part/motor will be fine now but the motor will wear and burn out the switch, hate to see a corn bin go up. .. video #3 doh! ;) The new conduit looks great.

“Not an electrician” here, The switch you removed was probably a 20amp (or better) switch. That switch you replaced it with looks like a standard 15amp household switch -it’ll work but I’d bet it gets hot and melts sooner rather than later. I’d swap it out to the heavier switch when you get a chance. Also it’s NOT a good idea to use those crimp terminals on solid copper wire this is 120v not 12 or 24 like you’re used to…but like I said “Not an electrician “.
