    Great video. Terrible terrible title for this video. My first read based on the title.. was actually to avoid this video. I understand butter like many other good fats can be incredibly healthful. I understand you want to call out "trick" therapies or over simplified ways of looking at things, but this title does not convey the real message that your guest and I presume you wanted to convey. This video is really about how to achieve a healthy endocrine system and that is through a high fat diet, and one of a number of very very healthful fats is Tallow, Butter, Cocunut.. etc. etc. Like so many youtubers there is some desire to create sensationalized video titles. Please make your titles more informative less sensational.

    I'm doing great since I added butter to my carnivore diet. Felt awful after three months of carnivore last year. Went back to it a month ago. Feeling so much better since adding butter in my coffee and steak. I've been way moire satiated. Not getting hungry, and am dropping weight. Adding more fat was a game changer for me.

      @@LifeIsWonderful675 Lol. I've retooled my diet AGAIN. started eating some veggies (low oxylate type,) because my constipation and bowel issues were terrible with a carnivore diet. About a month ago I Gave up coffee and started eating Whole yogurt. All the inflammation in my feet went away and my knees are Waaaay better!. I eat fat with my meat and some butter with various vegetables, but I'm not eating an extra amount. I had a lot of problems with I think was oxylate dumping. At this point it's hard to tell what is helping me. Was it giving up coffee or adding yogurt? Hard to tell. I don't miss the Coffee. Guess it was just a 43 year habit. It just makes me wonder how much the gender dysphoria has to do with poisons in the environment and bad nutrition since it’s obviously a mental health and more directly, an endocrine nightmare out there given the degree of malnutrition at least two generations have suffered from.

    • @RedGyl
      @RedGyl 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +40

      @@jenniek8391 It's a problem that people are taught that gender and personality or preferences are the same. Gender is primarily another word for biological sex, not how one looks or feels. Boys and girls have always come with a variety of personalities and talents, and that is fine. It is a problem to try to shame and/or force all of society to change in a way that causes so much unnecessary confusion and discord for the sake of individuals who need less confusion and discord, themselves.

    Fabulous interview! Will be one year into my carnivore journey in a couple of days, I've been getting so confused with so much different info lately... Maybe I watch too much content! This interview has given me a great deal of understanding for continuing my healing and weight loss journey. Totally agree with being in tune with your body, I now know why I get (rarely anymore) irritable and can pin point it to something I most probably shouldn't have eaten the day before! 58 yr female, lost 3.5 stone in the first 4 months, no more brain fog, diabetes, IBS, migraines, stiff joints... ✊

      🎯Right there w/you jroo~ which is why it's so helpful to hear from those who are actually putting into practice the science & data that forms their own experience.
      I think what helps me most when I'm feeling confused from taking in so much content is to remember that it's often experimental, & cannot all apply to me~yet the basics do, now that I understand how our systems function. Dr. Bright has gathered so much info over the years & has a way of keeping it simple & easy to implement~ which means I retain it, & that can be a challenge🤣Having that base of understanding also makes it easier to filter through the other content I'm taking in.
      🌟Well done on so many health benefits btw~ not to mention 3.5 stone, wow! I'm also 58, eating this way almost 2 yrs, yet the scale would not budge until just recently. I have also learned I was undereating & over exercising until recently- & not by much, but it was enough to confuse my body, go figure. I've whined about the weight, but I've been so grateful for all the other benefits (energy/clarity/mood/etc) I can't imagine ever going back, even if I never lost a pound. So grateful for access to knowledge!

      Being overweight is not a natural state…it is an imbalance that needs to be brought back to a healthy range. It is often a result of poor sleep, endocrine disorders, stress, and trauma response. It is a symptom (just like whatever you’re trying to fix) obesity is just a very visible symptom, and one which comes with a lot of social judgements. If your symptoms come from some dis-regulation then changing your diet to bring you into balance is something you can do too. A free TH-cam video is not à tailored personal programme…it’s more likely to deal with more common symptoms to help the most people possible. You can either extrapolate the information to make it work for you, be grateful that obesity is not your issue, and ultimately use the information herein as a springboard, and a funnel to streamline data into an algorithm that better suits your symptom-research

    I have three more days and then I will be at One year and five months NO coffee or caffeine. 513 Days NO coffee or caffeine. I loved my coffee and finally saw what it was doing to me after always drinking a lot of espresso or what I would call jet fuel. I worked in retail and restaurants where I thought I needed to be amped up. There was one day working in the mall and I also worked at Walmart. I knew I was not going to have a day off anytime soon. I went to the coffee place where they knew me. I asked for the strongest coffee and she says you just need 12 shots. I said okay and I was buzzing around for two days straight. I am so glad I ditched the coffee and it has been a game changer. I have more energy, I can sleep, and I don't wake up anymore in the morning tired or groggy. I am NO coffee or caffeine for life. Just got me some Rooibos tea to have and it was wonderful.

      At home, I only drink organic decaf coffee that went through the swiss water process. It will say it on the coffee package. I add a pat of butter or some grass fed heavy cream, organic cinnamon, organic cardamom, organic ginger, organic mushroom powder, a bit of stevia, blend ina nutribullet and wow, it's so tasty. I can't even think about going to another coffee house again! On the road, I use Mount Hagen organic decaf instant coffee travel packs (Amazon). It also uses a water process to get the caffeine out. I'll bring a frother with me to blend it.
      Be careful from too much Rooibos tea. I read that it has estrogenic properties like soy and flax.

Come to find out, I was consuming the highest Oxalate foods on the menu for the past 4 years thinking I was doing myself a favor. I literally screwed my health over 😂. So it would be great if they cover this topic soon

      @David-R. I was the same and I put 2 tablespoons of raw cacao powder, honey and oat milk in my "green" spinach loaded smoothie! Ate Tahini, black beans, chick peas every day. Thought the WFPB vegan diet was going to heal my Rheumatoid Arthritis and Interstitial Cystitis, but all it got me was sicker and sicker with lots of new strange symptoms developing, including itchy skin all over, terrible pain in my jaw/neck, vertigo. My forward-thinking doctor suggested I try carnivore. Although I was initially very dubious, I went carnivore SLOWLY, spent 2 months slowly introducing meat once a week, then 2 weeks carnivore plus a banana oat milk smoothie for 2 weeks then full carnivore 4 months ago. Oxalate dumping was intense on day 3, peeing what felt like shards of glass, then at 3, 6 and 12 weeks I developed the most irritating itchy scabby sores on my lower scalp that when I scratched them were filled with golden crystals but that seems to be it, all my former illnesses are now gone, I'm symptom free and finally off the biologic meds that were the only thing keeping me out of the wheelchair I'd been in when RA first hit me. And, I feel and look amazing!

    I definitely burnt myself out with cardio - was using a calorie counter in my heart rate monitor and couldn’t leave the gym until I had burned 1,500 cals… if I didn’t meet that number it rolled over to the next day. A few times, I spent 6hrs in multiple spin classes to achieve whatever I needed to meet the week’s requirements. And that’s how you screw up your body! Injuries, tears, massive weight gain despite excessive working out, thyroid destroyed. That was 15yrs ago now, still have issues but feel well enough to get back to weight lifting and though i still like spin, am sticking strictly to 15min sessions only a couple times a week. Thank you!

    • @karenhampton9693
      @karenhampton9693 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @1588chrissy same here I worked out excessively. So, If you still struggle with weight, try leaving the cardio alone all together and just go walking. I as well as many other women have spoke about their bodies were sensitive to any workouts and just needed to rest (it goes into flight or fight mode very easy and goes into hunger mode very easy)
      So when I stopped cardio all together, went for walks and performed light yoga and pilates my weight improved (with the elimination of dairy and I would have 1/ 2 cup of black coffee with butter only sometimes.
      Now I did start including intermittent fasting but not until I naturally became satisfied with 2mad or OMAD (I didnt force it if I was still hungry then I felt I still needed to heal) once I started fasting, I made sure I ate enough during my feeding window and my weight started dropping off. But before that it had other priorities and that was to heal first. I know Dr. Bright speak against women fasting especially that has hormonal imbalances but there are some doctors that are advocates for IF as long as you are eating healthy and they feel it actually aid in hormornal imbalance. So I just make sure on my days that I am fasting (36 to 48hrs), I have pieces of frozen butter throughput the day. I slowly increased my fasting window. I feel fantastic.

I did not, but if I had, it would have been nearly ver batim what Dr. Bright produced...except she's far more qualified than I, based on her academia & work experience, and so is able to articulate things in a more cohesive manner than I ever could have, imho. I ate ground beef as a staple until recently, when I ate a 1 lb top sirloin steak instead. I noticed NO cravings with the steak, and totally satisfied. So does make me wonder about ground beef. I appreciate the tidbit you mentioned about the process in making it.

      Its about chewing! If you cook say a lamb curry the meat is falling apart, I eat much more than if I put some lamb on the griddle for 5 mins - its tasty but you have to chew this releases saliva into the gut with satiating hormone's!

I’ve just started dipping my ties into Carnivore since having been diagnosed again (1980’s) with Ankylosing spondylitis in Nov. This was so interesting. I’ve been Keto but now trying to understand and wrap my head around Carnivore. If my friends saw me eat calves liver with butter they’d lose their minds. Lol Lots learned. Lots more to learn. Not heard of Dr Bright before but truly impressed with her responses and information. Need more of her! 💪👍

    Stress. That's why you have to give time to heal. Most who stay doing meat, butter eggs, stress levels come down, weight begins to shift. I consume 200-300g butter per day + egg yolks + whatever fat that comes with the meat. 4 weeks i put 5kg on, week 7 i weighed in 1kg heavier from when I started, and now slowly and steadily loosing weight. Activity per week mon-Fri 25k around steps, sat/sun 30-35k steps. Butter works for me to maintain 3000cal + per day just from fat. 😂 I'm relaxed, stress levels are at a minimum, awesome brain clarity. Protein I eat on any given day: mince, Wagyu mince, steak, pork, chicken, eggs/runny egg yolks, seafood: NZ green lip mussels, oysters, sea urchants (kina) , king prawns, Salmon, HM emulsified Coffee/butter. Others: Pāua, Krill oil, cod liver+OIL, Canned sardines in water, mackerel in water, fish roe. All foods are easily found here in NZ from local supermarkets and fishmarket. No Dairy at this point (milk, cheese, yoghurt, kefir, sour cream etc) maintain slow weight lose. My blood pressure is sensitive to weight changes, so I need to take it slow.

      Yes, people have to do it for however long it takes to let the body know "we have adequate and the right form of nutrition coming in, you can relax and heal". I think Kelly Hogan had an experience with that.

    • @3ATTR1X
      @3ATTR1X ปีที่แล้ว

      @@w1975b yep, totally agree, and eliminate anything that causes your digestion to hold water or slow digestion down. Clean should be whatever someone has to eliminate to relax the stressed out digestive track, and the hyper agitated defense system can chill out. There is so many things going on when the digestive track has irritation and inflammation. You know you are on track when farts go from smelly to Odorless, to none, and number 2s are soft and easy. That in itself is a BIG breakthrough, let alone maximization of macro and micro nutrient uptake releaving the body of starvation stress, to chillaxness that you have never known before. 😎

Your gut microbiome will be the greatest factor in what foods seem to digest well and which do not. The human body and the conditions are incredibly nuanced in my 60+ years of experience.
