This episode has me appreciating being an African living in Africa because 80% of the food we eat comes straight from the farmers and I’m so thankful for that.
I am 81, always active, exercise most days and I am normal weight, eating plant based for 10 years. I eat healthy organic 95% of the time. I started getting a stomach at about 75 with no changes in my routine. I am now skipping dinner and I am slowly starting to loose my belly and am feeling better than I have in a long time.

I stumbled upon Dr. Pelz’s interview about 4-5 mos ago. I was in this cycle of just being tired all the time, being so emotional and angry before my period. Gaining wt eventhough I don’t believe I eat a lot. I read her book, started wearing a CGM and just slowly easing into the fasting lifestyle. I now have done 2 72 hrs of fasting without a struggle. I’m currently on my 3rd try for the 72 hrs fasting. I used to love chocolate that I can finish a big toblerone in one sitting. Now, I have a hard time finishing one piece of chocolate. I’ve changed my taste buds and it’s unbelievable. I’ve lost some weight but don’t stress with the number in the scale. I feel good and that’s what matters 😊
I’ve seen many of Jay’s interviews on this podcast, but this one made me subscribe. EXCELLENT interview and a fantastic guest. She confirmed studies that I’ve been reading for years but she went above and beyond explaining everything. I feel like I need to rewatch this video again and again to learn and fully absorb what Dr. Pelz says. I’m on my weight loss journey and this has been very inspiring.

FINALLY, I am 66 yrs old and it took this long to find someone who knows the proper answers . Thank you Mindy. To have someone explain that nutrition creates your hormones was all I needed to hear. Now I know what direction to go in. None of my Doctors where "teaching" me anything about menopause. Was fasting the way to go, low calorie? I've tried every direction. After retiring from 45 years of shift work, at least I realize that now I can get proper sleep. You helped add another piece to my puzzle. Thanks, I will be following you....Great Podcast JAY!!!!!
Jay, thank you so much for this interview! I also didn't know a lot of this information. I'm 41 and I've felt and seen my body change, so this video comes at a good time. I'm definitely going to buy her book. ❤🙏
The story she shared about the woman who told her "It must be great living in your body" broke me. Tears. Thats all, I belive, what we are all reaching for, to feel great in our own bodies. Order her book today. Thank you for sharing this.
Wow! As a child of the 80's, I was taught that males and females were all basically the same and so I always resented my monthly cycles and the physical/emotional delicacies that came with being a woman - they felt like a burden or a curse. But, thanks to hearing Dr. Mindy, I have a better appreciation for the roll that female hormones play and the unique complexities of the female body. This information was so helpful! I can't wait to read her books on fasting and eating. I know they will help me navigate my journey through menopause. Wish she'd been there when I was 20. Great interview!
I usually don’t listen to podcasts and don’t really comment anywhere, but this one is precious. Thank you ! So much information that is hidden from us, yet so important to understand the processes in our body. I’m 33 years old, trying to get pregnant… I’m definitely overweight, but trying to lose it but it won’t leave me. The weight I gained is because of stress, hence compulsive eating. I will definitely look into fasting and all the little advices in this video and really hope to see a change soon in my body, re-gain confidence and improve my mental and physical health ❤
It’s also crazy how after living in Canada for 3 years now im actually starting to pay attention to what im eating as I constantly feel tired, gaining extra weight, have skin problems and get sick more often. Which was NEVER the problems when I lived my entire life in Europe ( 3 different countries). North America is killing their people..
Born and raised Canadian and lived in the US the last 30 years and I can say whenever I travel abroad I have so much more energy and no foods bother me whereas when I come back to North America I have to avoid anything containing gluten or lactose (really any processed grains or dairy) But I've been saying for a few decades now that the FDA runs the United States and is highly corrupt
So true, I live in US but my family is from Mexico. Once a year we would visit. Growing up I had acne and a belly. When we visited Mexico for those three weeks, my acne would clear and my belly fat would go away.
I never comment anywhere but this podcast hit my hard , recently gave birth to my baby girl and i am 2 months postpartum. Today started exercise basically fitness just to make my body move. As a begginer . Am addicted to sugar , especially after breastfeeding my baby. Really am struggling with that, coz i wanna lose around 25 kg . I am gone order your book. You seem really helpful and wise. Love this podcast.
This is one of the best podcasts I"ve ever watched. The passion and generosity of Dr Pelz are incredible! I've learned so much today and want to learn more so I am buying her books! Thank you!
I’ve been following everything from Dr.Mindy book and have lost over 40 pounds. Thank you, Jay Shetty, for introducing her and sharing her valuable information!
Instead of weight lose, I think this episode is more about how heal our bodies and to fall/ be in love with our bodies. The last couple minutes of the episode totally summed up this entire episode beautifully. Thank you both for these enlightening informations! God bless you 2!
Dr Mindy's teachings literally changed my life. Fast Like a Girl is the most incredible book in empowering women to love living in their bodies. I cannot wait to read Eat Like a Girl! Thank you for interviewing Dr Mindy again! 💞
IN REGARDS TO INGESTING OLIVE OIL for people wanting to add it into their diets for health reasons, make sure you're buying extra virgin olive oil and sourced from one source, and make sure that it's 100% olive oil, sometimes they mix in other oils sneakily
Scary how all these chemicals that allowee in foods can literally kill you. The Yuka app has been a super tool for us. Now we choose clean, no pteservatives and make most of our meals. Great info!
I love Dr. Mindy. I'm in early 40tees and started fast like a girl about year ago and lost 9kg, I'm sleeping much better, feeling much better and loving it xxx thank you both ❤️
It's difficult to follow the same fasting window with the gym and night shifts. I tried to do it with so many combinations but I am not sure what's right anymore. It's complicated if I start considering melatonin too. This podcast is an eye opener but puts me back to square one.
Lifestyle she says is key. So Dr Mindy says you need to vary your ißfasting window. I wish I had known about her in my 40's and early 50's while I worked on 3rd shift.
That’s how I had gained weight, snacking in bed, bad choices. I was 178 and within 4 months I was 137 pounds and have stayed there. It is harder with age or menopause 💕🦋
Can't even begin to express how much I enjoyed this podcast. One of the most enjoyable, informative and beneficial podcasts I have ever sat through. Absolutely love Dr Mindys aura. Her approach and the way she teaches is brilliant. Was able to follow everything she was saying. Great understanding and chemistry between the Host and Dr Mindy. Thank you both❤!
I’m never heard of Dr. Mindy but OMG I’m so glad I found this podcast!! This woman DEFINITELY sounds like she knows what she’s talking about! I just downloaded her audiobook ❤️ Thank you so much! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
We need more ppl like you in this world! Your podcast has helped and saved many of us in so many ways! So much truth to it. I have followed you from day one and u never disappoint. Bless your soul! A huge thank you to you your staff and the ppl you invite to your pod cast in being so real and opening up with real life experiences without judgement. Seldom I listened to an conversation like yours so banned, so happyly, so empowererd afterwards. I did listen to both of you alone before, but this one together I really appreciated and love!!! Thank you both very much!!! I am doing my very best to heal and love my female Being,my life and my body!!!!
I fasted 48h after my surgical teeth extraction: just water, no food or anything. Only water. I didn't take any antibiotics. I had no gum inflammation. My gums healed faster. Fasting is so amazing!
@@EVanDoren Yes, I would have done the fast before, too, but unfortunately, I had the surgery days before I'm supposed to have it. I do IF every day (sometimes 18:6 or 20:4, or 16:8) so that, at least helped, I think.
@@MrRoxy313 I've read that before and after is good. In my case, I did intermittent fasting before then 2 days fast afterwards- the main reason is to keep my mouth free from any food particles as I didn't plan on taking any antibiotics. It depends on what kind of surgery you're taking as well and how accustomed to fasting your body is. Anyone else who know better, kindly answer. 🤗
Amazing podcast ! I'm in shock how much chemical, addicted I'm with sugar and salt I'm working been healthy I'm in my late 40 and moving its important ! Thanks for bring her to learn more and take care of ourselves!!! ✨️
I LOVE listening to her! She explains everything soo well where I can actually understand it all. I’m definitely going to look into to her more 🙏🏻❤️ Thank you!!
Yes, fasting is much easier than people think. The problem is, they forget that they are fasting for however many hours they are sleeping, as well. All they have to do is, subtract their sleeping hours from their fasting window and that is the actually time that they are going without food. For example: I fast for 16 hours and sleep for 8. So, in reality, I am only "fasting for 8 hours. Which isn't very long at all. I hope this makes sense.
Thank you so good to hear from you gives me hope have lot of uncertainty as also maligne white bloodcells unknow what kind it is going to be hear that february next year for now I absorb all advices of doc Mindy and slowly integrate it. Here we only have 7.33 Hours to max 7.57 Hours daylight in winter today. I love the advices of Doc Mindy, reading her book Fast like a girl. At my age of 70 it is a bit difficult but will try her fasting advice for theroïd disease Hashimoto. I just start slowly. Using raw cloves works great as tea before bedtime makes my cold feet warm and feeling relaxed, in the morning I eat them raw about 5 pieces to fresh up my mouth while walking the dog as inflammatoir ingrediënt for fibromyalgia. Mindy Pellz is a total God send. Her passion for sharing her knowledge, in order to bring greater health is beyond words. Thank YOU both for this outstaying podcast. I have shared Mindy's books with many friends.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! My body has been telling me to make changes… it wants to fast and have a complete diet makeover… I didn’t know how to do this, successfully, until I saw this podcast. I am so incredibly grateful! I’m going on 55 as well so your insight truly resonated. Happy birthday Dr Mindy!!! Thank you both 🙏🙏🥰🥰🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for having Dr. Mindy on, Jay! Especially in her birthday! I've loved Dr Mindy for years and could say so many great things about her. However, I wanted to mention also how useful her information has been for my husband as well. He understands my hormonal shifts, and it's been impactful on our relationship. I really feel that men will benefit from her content for this reason. So take in all of her information, fellas out there🥰💙💚
I do alternate day fasting and I swear her point from minute 25 to 28 is spot on ! After time you no longer can stomach to stand the food you used to eat and I’m utterly shocked from it .. this podcast is fire 🔥 and I’m definitely getting her books
Yes, me too--getting her book & THANK YOU JAY! I wouldn't have looked into this bc I'm a 57 yr old female but not overweight but realize now why I'm so tired, brain fogged, sleeping poorly (diagnosed with Narcolepsy, primarily Hypersomnia), and just this summer, I learned from Sadhguru that my food builds the body/mind that I live or suffer with (duh!) and not just adding weight, plus all about the world's nutrient less soil😢, and now this Doctor has taught me SO much more about how to manage (diet-wise) to create the "better" me that I wish to create! YAY! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Jay,, and this wonderful & dedicated Doctor! Blessed be!
@@barbiecarro you eat one day from 7 am to 7 pm and the next day you don’t eat just drink water with electrolytes.. then you repeat the cycle of eat one day and the next day do not eat
Absolutely!!! This is something i picked up along my fasting journey! For me the biggest is sugar and sweet things, i just cant! And i used to have a massive sweet tooth
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE HER! I already sent to other women who need to hear this message. She’s amazing. Thank you for having her on. Can’t wait to see more of her work.
Happy Birthday Mindy! I thank you for teaching us. This changed my entire life already and I haven’t even applied anything yet. But I will, I will like never before now!
What a wonderful interview. Thank you Jay! I am so grateful for Dr. Mindy’s work. Implementing her recommendations has been an absolute game changer for my health. Thank you Dr. Mindy for your passion and generosity in sharing all of your knowledge. You are amazing!
Love this. So much value. I honestly chose a salad and an omelette today for lunch , started eating at 1pm because I was listening to this in the morning 😊
Thank you, Dr. Mindy, for shedding light on these eye-opening truths! It's shocking to learn about the hidden chemicals and how they impact our health, as well as the real reasons behind belly fat storage. Your insights into why certain diet trends can backfire are incredibly valuable. Thanks for breaking it all down so clearly - truly essential knowledge for anyone on its health journey!
I would love a video going into detail about the most toxic products and foods to stay away from or the ingredients that we should be staying away from
Hi , Jay Shetty i came across your podcast for the first time with Dr Mindy Pelz . She is one incredible doctor who is educating us women how to take care of our body, listen to our body and educated us how to fix our hormones and body. It was enlightening to listen to her Podcast. Thank you so much. Sharing this Podcast .

I loved this podcast. Awesome information. Thank you Dr. Mindy🙏 And Jay for making this possible.
I’m 48 and I’ve been vegan for 15 years, mostly whole foods. I rarely have cravings for bad food and I mostly snacks on fruits and nuts. If I’m away on holiday and can’t keep up with a whole foods diet, my body starts craving veggies. My favourite dinner is Buddha bowl and I add as many plants as possible. What I eat for breakfast makes me feel satisfied and energised for hours. I do usually go for over 12 hours without food, and I don’t wake up hungry at all. I don’t normally have low energy throughout the day (unless I work on my feet carrying stuff without breaks all day - then I get home knackered). I feel that, what I eat makes me feel happy and loving life. I also walk a lot (10km a day) and practice capoeira, so that might help with my mood too. Since becoming vegan, I never had period cramps again, and I never have headaches. Despite I’m “slim” (I wear small), I do have body fat, specially belly. According to my smart scale, most of my body fat is subcutaneous, and I have “excellent” visceral fat. I consume a lot of healthy fats (everyday I eat tofu, nuts and one avocado + I use a lot of olive oil), and my cholesterol is high because of my HDL (which is 92), LDL 94 and triglycerides is 62. All my family have really high cholesterol, and they are all overweight
Thankyou! I wanted to understand more the role of cortisol and also the understanding why to eat during the day. Mindi is a very positive person to listen to and or watch. Always a pleasure to learn from her.
Such an amazing and mindblowing episode !! It made me checking my meals and the ingedrients I used to cook. Will definitely get the recommended book of Dr. Pelz! Thank you so much!
I am so grateful for being here. I have received all answers for question how could I help the energy go through the body absolutely free? It is completely enough informative field for action. ❤

While listening to this podcast I bought the book, I want to know more and I really like the words which Dr Mindy said that make women empowered and if women are empowered the whole nation becomes healthy and empowered towards their health and its true above all health is wealth.
Hi Jay great and invaluable show. Please do a show on the dangers of men and women drinking wine espcsnd alcohol every day after work. Is this a silent form of alcoholism? I see women especially doing this as a way to relax. Are there repercussions?
I just love you Dr Mindy you stand for stay mindful in what goes inside you. I am so grateful for your video, your words feels so real & personal Iam trying to follow your tips am in a menopausal stage but no excuses no giving up. May God bless us all ❤❤🙏🙏

Focus on a balanced diet, regular exercise, staying hydrated, portion control, and getting enough sleep. Consistency is key!
This is powerful. I feel this so strongly.
Good luck! You can do it!!!
This is why I didn’t want to eat on my breaks at work, it made me sleepy no matter what it was.
You and me both. I eat during the break and after that I'm sleepy and can't get anything done
Same here. 2 years in the US ALWAYS sick…food is poison here. And I am very careful with what I eat!
I live in the United States. I lose weight when I stayed in Europe or the UK for a couple of weeks
Born and raised Canadian and lived in the US the last 30 years and I can say whenever I travel abroad I have so much more energy and no foods bother me whereas when I come back to North America I have to avoid anything containing gluten or lactose (really any processed grains or dairy)
But I've been saying for a few decades now that the FDA runs the United States and is highly corrupt

Which book “Fast Like a Girl”?
Hey jay. Please do a podcast on dietary habits for a diabetic. Like this one. This made so much sense to me as a woman.
Instead of weight lose, I think this episode is more about how heal our bodies and to fall/ be in love with our bodies. The last couple minutes of the episode totally summed up this entire episode beautifully. Thank you both for these enlightening informations! God bless you 2!
This lady knows what she is talking about. My grandfather had a lot of garlic and olive oil in his diet and he lived to be 95. Olive oil is key❤
Thanks!
Thank you for this! 🥰
And make sure it's in a dark GLASS bottle. Plastics in the olive oil is no good
Scary how all these chemicals that allowee in foods can literally kill you. The Yuka app has been a super tool for us. Now we choose clean, no pteservatives and make most of our meals. Great info!
I’m on a Quest to highlight those good food producers!
❤When i start dieting Dr. Mindy channel is one of the channel i watch. From 68kg-54kg now.. And i love myself morr than before.
Wow, amazing. I'm exactly looking to take this journey as well - from abt 66ish to 56. I hope I'm able to achieve the results like you as well soon!

Congratulations!!!!
I love Dr. Mindy. I'm in early 40tees and started fast like a girl about year ago and lost 9kg, I'm sleeping much better, feeling much better and loving it xxx thank you both ❤️
Yes! Same! I'm glad I found her at 41 so I have time to implement her information and benefit from them in my next decade!
How did you do it!
Congratulations!!!!
I did it with no sugar, no snacks, healthy food, protein, fresh veggies and fresh fruit. I love how I look
Thia episode should have like 3mi views. It is amazing!!! Such a master class from a strong woman passionate about her life. Thank you for this one 🙏🏻
I’m never heard of Dr. Mindy but OMG I’m so glad I found this podcast!! This woman DEFINITELY sounds like she knows what she’s talking about! I just downloaded her audiobook ❤️ Thank you so much! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Be careful Fasting with an unhealthy Thyroid can BACKFIRE
Her work is amazing - made a huge difference
Happy Birthday Dr Mindy!!!! Another eyeopening interview, Thank you both!!
This resonated so much with principles of Jainism.. like eating before sun sets, fasting, fasting every other day, it’s called varshitap..
Helping others to do better and feel better, your authenticity is everything!
Even better: begin the fast 2-3 days before the OP. There were studies about this.
@@EVanDoren Yes, I would have done the fast before, too, but unfortunately, I had the surgery days before I'm supposed to have it. I do IF every day (sometimes 18:6 or 20:4, or 16:8) so that, at least helped, I think.
I’ll have a surgery next week, I was thinking to fast 3 days after but now that I read you, should I start before and no after? What do you suggest?
@@MrRoxy313 I've read that before and after is good. In my case, I did intermittent fasting before then 2 days fast afterwards- the main reason is to keep my mouth free from any food particles as I didn't plan on taking any antibiotics. It depends on what kind of surgery you're taking as well and how accustomed to fasting your body is.
Anyone else who know better, kindly answer. 🤗
thats why its in the coran , we moslims fast 1 whole month per year. And its recommand in the islam to fast every monday and tuesday
Amazing podcast ! I'm in shock how much chemical, addicted I'm with sugar and salt
I'm working been healthy I'm in my late 40 and moving its important ! Thanks for bring her to learn more and take care of ourselves!!! ✨️
I LOVE listening to her! She explains everything soo well where I can actually understand it all. I’m definitely going to look into to her more 🙏🏻❤️ Thank you!!
62 I have belly fat. Cancer stage 4 Fasting with Dr. Mindy 6 months I have lost 20 pounds in remission and fast I’m
And fasting is so easy.
What is your fast like?
Thank you for this episode ! There is so much value for everyone. You change my whole perspective on food and diets ! ❤
Thank you Algorithm for introducing me to Jay, and thank you Jay for introducing me to Dr Mindy! Great first video!
I was so sleepy when I found this video but I finished watching it as I think it is super helpful ❤

Finally someone who is talking the truth! She KNOWS what she's talking about!!!
Blessed be!
Did you workout out as well @robzzzzzz1?
Hi ! How fo you alternate the fasting i couldnt really understand this part (my mother language its not english ) could you please share moee ?
@@barbiecarro you eat one day from 7 am to 7 pm and the next day you don’t eat just drink water with electrolytes.. then you repeat the cycle of eat one day and the next day do not eat
Absolutely!!! This is something i picked up along my fasting journey! For me the biggest is sugar and sweet things, i just cant! And i used to have a massive sweet tooth
Your video is a real eye-opener! I appreciate how you focus on actionable steps that make staying healthy feel manageable. Amazing work!

This was LIFE CHANGING! THANK YOU Jay Shetty & Mindy Pelz P.H.D!
Love love LOVE Dr. Mindy ! She has changed my life
Thankyou! I wanted to understand more the role of cortisol and also the understanding why to eat during the day. Mindi is a very positive person to listen to and or watch. Always a pleasure to learn from her.
Dr. Mindy's approach to protein intake makes so much more sense than most other professionals approach!
Such an amazing and mindblowing episode !! It made me checking my meals and the ingedrients I used to cook. Will definitely get the recommended book of Dr. Pelz! Thank you so much!
