FYI. Elijah Muhammad from Nation of Islam and the NOI are the founders of intermittent fasting. The NOI has been practicing, and recomending intermittent fasting since the 1930s. Elijah Muhammad published an entire book about intermittent fasting in 1967 called "Eat To Live". NOI members to this day eat 1 meal per day or 1 meal every other day.
I started fasting in 2016. Dr said she wishes all patients had labs that look like mine. I’m 55 and I’m just as fit and in shape as I was in my 20s. Menopause did not cause weight gain. Went on 14 trip to Europe including a cruise. Ate like a queen. Did NOT gain 1 lb! Metabolism is great!
Been doing IF for 18 months and down from 353 to 229.6 as of this morning. Still have a way to go but it’s the easiest and most successful weight loss attempt of my life.

I am a retired physician with a very difficult autoimmune disease. My immune system is attacking nerve cells through out the body(thankfully not the central nervous system ). Thanks to Dr. Fung and other experts I started fasting 12 hours a day. Also, very importantly, no eating for 3 hours before bedtime. Then I extended the fast by 30 minutes per week…NOT difficult. Now I fast 14 to 16 hours a day which is not difficult at all. I have lost 25 pounds and my disease is stable, not progressing, so thank you, Dr. Fung!
I do about 16 hours of intermittent fasting myself for better keeping my weight after menopause (BMI 22,5, never been overweight). It is working but a bigger game changer was avoiding industrial sugar (besides an occasional piece of cake on the weekends😊). Since then I have much less pain in my joints and muscles (no diagnoses). Sugar = inflammation.
Have you Heard of reseting your immune sistem WITH Very high doses vitamin D?? Try out Very, Very high doses thyamine...do your research@@gordoncaldwell5597
It's not arrogant. Dr. Jason Fung, your work has impacted and helped many many millions of people to reverse type 2 diabetes. You have changed the world!
The concept in simple. Activate the emergency adrenal glands to quite literally pump you with “steroids”. IF isn’t a sustainable thing long term but rather a diet. Once you use up your “steroids” they take time to replenish.
Fasting does work. I lost 130lbs fasting 20years ago. Fast forward (marriage and kids), I gained it all back plus some. So a year ago I started fasting 24 to 48 hours, typically I eat one meal 3-4 times a week. I’ve lost over 100lbs and I feel amazing. I’m now smaller than I was when I met my husband (and he’s back to his original size as well). We both have never been happier. Fasting cleanses your body and soul. Good luck everyone.
Can I say that this man saved my life? I was over weight all my life, last year I randomly saw his videos and started fasting I lost 40kg, I am more healthy, light, now I can move with no pain, I look younger and the most important thing is that I don't feel hungry all the time anymore Thank Dr. Fung 🙏🏽
I always thought I was weird because it’s easier for me to NOT eat then to eat light all day.. once I eat the first meal I’m hungry all damn day. The biggest myth in the world is “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day”
@@Itsxmusic Same thing happened to me, when I used to eat in the morning I got be hungry all the day until I sleep I wish some1 told me before that the problem wasn't my will power but the time and the quality of food I was eating I thought I was a fat child, fat teen, fat adult and I will die fat... and the problem is in me 💔 I did try all kind of diets and failed... until I saw Dr. FUNG's video, I thought well I have nothing to lose anyway the worst thing that can happen is that I will stay fat or gain back the weight again in no time
How do you manage to fast for long periods of time I get nervous if I don't eat twice a day I have done a bit of fasting by eating breakfast at 12 pm my biggest accomplishment lol lol
@ once I learned how capable and resilient the human body is based on how our ancestors were able to survive long periods of time without food that was enough motivation to go a day or two without food on occasion. The human body is very similar to a bear. We can survive off our fat stores just like them. Our minds play tricks on us making us believe we are weak but in reality we were built to survive the most extreme conditions.
I am on another re-start plan to lengthen my fasting time and shorten my feeding time. IF has helped me drop weight and feel amazing in the past but I ruined it and went back to some bad habits. That started with just the tiniest taste of sugar. I'm on day 2 of no sugar and at least 18 hours of fasting. ❤ I want this back! More energy, less brain fog and inflammation, reduced depression and getting back into my regular clothes again!❤
My husband does IF and OMAD. It has been an absolute miracle what it has done to his body and skin. My husband is retired military and had horrible chemical burns on his arms and body as well as a gunshot wound to the abdomen. All of his burns and gunshot wound are completely healed. He literally has zero scars left. This has been from almost 10 yrs of doing IF and OMAD. He started this journey because he was getting the munchies at night from taking ambien to help him sleep. He had me make sure to not let him eat at night and he was always so busy at work that he ended up only eating OMAD.He lost the weight and his skin started to heal. IF is literally a miracle for skin rejuvenation the natural way. He is 50 and looks amazing for his age.
I'm 65y, F. I eat OMAD. Began keto 3 years ago. Was 240lbs, now 150. A1c was 8.3, now 5.2 Once you become fat adapted, you'll lose hunger and discover what your body actually needs.
I took Abain for 18 years ! On and off ! Off it for 3 weeks when cold turkey !! Haven’t sleep the best but not eating at night ! And feel better just starting fasting !!! Doing Better!!
@@nickijaycox7773OMAD can be tricky bc you still need to cram 1200+ cals into a single meal and your goal is to not spike your insulin the rest of the day with drinks. The easiest way to do OMAD is to try it once a week. Allow yourself time to research healthy/calorie sufficient OMAD meals, then do it twice a week. There’s no one meal plant that fits all nutrition/weight goals and you may not even need to do OMAD to reach your goals. 2 meals a day in a 6 hour (18 fasting hours) window is extremely powerful if you’re not at that level yet. Best of luck!!
@@nickijaycox7773When you fast long enough and start using ketones for fuel, the body will convert stored fat into the energy you need. As long as you aren’t underweight the body will compensate for the difference between calorie intake and what your body needs. If you avoid carbs then you go back to using ketones faster and you will have stable energy all day.
I began intermittent fasting a year ago… along with reducing crappy food… lost 70 pounds. Yes!! I’m 54 years old and feel better than I have in decades. So many advantages beyond weight loss. I’m never hangry! Feel better. My skin has never been healthier. ❤
Hey I’m 54 too and starting IF again. The best shape I was ever in, was six years ago, and that’s when I was doing IF. Congrats with your success and keep going!
@@mykdub7811 I started by cutting out evening snacking. Then I learned how to cook and appreciate real, non processed food. Then I slowly began expanding the hours of which I wouldn’t eat… started with 12…. Worked my way up. And I watched a ton of TH-cam videos, and kept a journal as well. Good luck! 💗
I’m 6 weeks into intermittent fasting… I’ve lost 21 pounds so far, it’s much easier than I expected… 29 more pounds to go…. I cut the beer, bread 🥖 and pasta… first meal at 10am second meal at 4 pm… lean meats, fresh veggies and fruit 🍎… no junk food… and the weight is falling off 😃👍
I fast as well and eat mostly whole foods and no more refined sugar. Down three jeans sizes since February. Not a diet a lifestyle. Real food tastes great.
How do you know it's the IF causing the weight loss and not the drastic change in food quality? Are you eating the same number of calories between those two meals as you were prior to starting this? If not, how can the weight loss be attributed to IF and not to calorie deficit and less refined sugars? Plenty of bodybuilders will tell you they lose weight with a calorie deficit and healthier calories. Congratulations to you,. That's awesome. I'm just trying to figure out how I can lose 30 pounds with being such a picky eater. I'm hesitant to try IF because I'm super active and have a history of blood sugar drops causing dizziness and fatigue even though I'm not diabetic; been tested numerous times.
@@ThaStonedGardner well I haven’t changed what I eat, I was already eating a healthy diet… but I did cut out the constant grazing… and cut out beer, pasta and bread… much of what I’ve lost so far could be water weight, but so what… eventually I’ll start burning fat, and that’s where the IF comes in… you should start slow, adjust your six hour window to accommodate your lifestyle… and after two or three days it gets much easier, just like anything… I didn’t realize I was opening the fridge and staring in, for no reason, IF helps me discipline my eating habits… I eat my first meal when I’m hungry and the other one six hours later… I let my window float , not exactly the same every day, depends on what I’m doing on any particular day… but since i was always grazing, I was never burning fat, or water…and yes, I’m probably in a calorie deficit, but IF helped me get there… if my stomach growled at 3 am… I would make a sandwich 🥪… I don’t do that anymore 🤣 so IF helps in many ways.
His video I saw on May 8th, 2021changed and saved my life. So much healthier& happier. Freed from the slavery of hunger & fat I struggled with all my life. Thank you Dr. Fung.❤
The best part of fasting for me is that I don't have to concern myself with what to eat for that portion of the day. What a relief not to have to think about it!
Since I don't eat breakfast, I eat hard boiled eggs at night for a snack after dinner. Eggs are good for you, but you don't have to have them for breakfast.
I started a 16/8 schedule, July 2023. With weight lifting as well, I'm down 35 pounds and I'm 56 yrs old. Have another 25 to go, and should get there by July 2024.
What a fabulous doctor. Reversing type II without medicines. Losing weight without drugs or devices. He taught us to let our bodies look after themselves, by not stuffing our faces all day long. I am doing 24-hour fasts. I enjoy it. After three days even the hunger pangs stopped. Life is so much simpler when you only concern yourself with a single meal. I am losing 2 lbs a week, sometimes more. Thank you, Dr Fung.
@@iamalphalim They're not worried, so many more people are in the dark, they will still continue to get their windfall. I just saw a comment yesterday on one of Dr. Berg's vids, where a woman was saying she was afraid to strength train because she women have hormone issues and she's 45. Even in this day and age of unlimited access to information, people still have really outdated notions of health, diet and exercise.
Dr Jason Fung has to be awarded a Nobel Prize ( or an equivalent) for his seminal work on reversing type 2 diabetes and weight loss. I know from personal experience that it works.
I'm 65, my new doctor just told me I have the blood work of a healthy 40yo. He said, whatever you're doing, keep doing it. I started with over a full year of 36+ fasts, now I do it once or twice a month. If I told him about the pizza and cheeseburgers I eat he would be shocked. I think once you cure a fatty liver, you have a better and longer life.
@philipreed6893 OMAD is One Meal A Day (2MAD is the acronym for 2 Meals A Day). It is a way to restrict calories, wuthout drastically cutting caloies, and it allows the body to adjust its hormone regulation by eliminating frequent hormone, such as insulin, spikes. Paired with exercise (calisthenics, weight training, & interval training), OMAD can steady "remake" your body and spirit no matter your age. Younger people & very physically active people may be better served by 2MAD eaten in a scheduled 4-to-8 hour period every day. There are many, many TH-cam videos on OMAD & some on 2MAD. Best wishes on your personal enrichment journey.
@@philipreed6893My cousin, aged 68, lost 90 pounds in a year with the One Meal a Day fasting plan. He chose the hours to eat 4pm to 8pm so they could go out with friends and family for supper. He had what he wanted, which included his beloved Dr Pepper. But, from 8pm to 4pm the next day, it was only water, black coffee and unsweet tea. He said the thing that kept him motivated was every time he lost even 2 ounces, he took a picture of that weight showing on the scales. His new challenge was to see a new lower number , at which time he took a new picture. He looks fantastic and is off his high blood pressure meds and is no longer a Type II diabetic.
Dr. Fung helped a lot of people and he deserves recognition. I reversed Type 2 Diabetes after reading his book "Obesity Code" and implemented what I learned. My endocrinologist was astonished on my remission after 6 months, I continued on the doctor SOP for 1 year until he had to cut medications because every blood chemicals looked normal. He asked what I did whilst he is the Doctor.
Works like a charm! I’m 10 days into fasting atleast 20 hours per day combined with eating strict clean keto and I’m down from 215 to 203. A lot of water weight in there of course but GREAT results so far. I feel wonderful. UPDATE (3 weeks later): Down to 194 lbs!! Very noticeable changes is body composition, Strength, energy & focus. Started taking cold showers every day about 2 weeks ago as well. Only noticeable results from that have been tolerance to the cold water 💪🏽 I’ll be back in a few weeks lol

My second and final meal is heavy on the protein. I walk for 45min-1hr at least 3 times a week, jump on the rebounder (cellerciser) EVERYDAY for at least 20min for full body exercise. I do yoga and/or Qigong every morning for stretching and resistance training and stay hydrated (at least 4-24oz glasses of water daily) I also drink Coconut water to hydrate, add coconut cream to my coffee instead of creamers and add ginger, lemon and monk fruit to chilled herbal teas instead of carbonated drinks. I found Dr Fung about three years ago on TH-cam and have two books. My A1C is normal, I no longer eat junk carbs, and feel better. I’ve always struggled with my weight but IF helps. I’ll never be a size 4 again but not doing too bad for a 70+++ old granny. Thank you Dr Fung!
Thanks, Dr. Fung. Based on your books, I was able to reverse my diabetes. My fasting insulin is now around 4.8 - 5.5, and 2 hours after a meal it is about 5.8 - 6.6. I have not taken a medication in half a year. Again, thank you very much.
Heard Dr Fung speak (on TH-cam) last October 2023 - 3 months ago. Was diagnosed with diabetes and told that it was a lifetime problem that I would have to take drugs forever for. I refused to start the drugs. Took Dr Fung’s advice and my A1C is down 3 full points in 3 months. Am intermittently fasting - 16 hr. My weight went from a 250lb high in October to 218lb this morning February 1 2024. They told me that even though my A1C is down they still considered me a diabetic because that is the ‘rule.’.. Once a diabetic always a diabetic. Every once in awhile you get lucky in life and are blessed with some sage advice!
Working on lowering the weight load on my 66 yr old arthritic hip joints thru low carb, unprocessed foods and 16hr intermittent fasting and I'm down 40 pounds. Sich a relief!
Me too. 69 yo, on 8/16 intermittent fast cutting back alcohol, sugar/processed carbs. Have lost 60+ lbs over past year. At 6 month mark I added one day a week fast
I was told I have high blood pressure and my A1C at 7, I went for a visit because of an ear infection. This doctor told me right off that he is going to put me on high blood pressure med. as well as diabetic. I refused to accept and told him I need to challenge myself more before taking the med. Shortly after that I begin Dr. Janson's intermitten fasting and now on my 13 days and has loss over 10lb. My blood pressure has gone down immensely. I feel great and continue to fasting until I reach my goal. Thank you, Dr. Janson

Try using berberine and b vitamins. Berberine will cure insulin resistence in the liver and lower gluconeogenesis, which is often a complication of type 2 diabetes. It upregulates glut4 transporters as well and helps the pancreas.
*Dr Jason Fung changed my life.* I was going to be registered on type 2 and by intermittent fasting I reversed the path and it has been on a stable and safe level in 5 years. You are great man!
I've been paying attention, for the last several months, to the breadcrumbs left by random people talking about fasting, and I realized that they're all healthy and fit. I decided to do a 24 hour fast that turned into a 48 fast. I was all set to break my fast today at 5:30. Thanks to my research on TH-cam the last several hours, I decided to extend it to 72 hours. I feel that I've received enough information on how to correctly fast and to make healthier food choices. I'm now at 56 hours, and I'm not craving food. I want to eat, but I don't feel famished in any sense of the word. God is why I'm here.

There are differences in ramadan fasting and healthy fasting. For one, drink water during the day. And their meals at evening is dates and high carb/sugar. Its probably ok (except the dry fasting) for a month. But you cant sustain low calorie, no hydration during the day and high carb break in the fast long term.

As a nurse of 35 years experience who just retired, I now have leisure time where I’ve been engaged in sites health oriented. I’ve been recommending that people who neither believe nor have been educated on the physiology of fasting/keto read your very excellent information. Got blasted last night by a nurse with a masters in biology/physiology because she thinks that people need to stuff themselves with carbs and that the only reason IF works is the decrease in calories. I once again said to listen to you and read your well written books. Sadly the reason I retired was because a large percentage of my joints are bone on bone not weight related but lax joints/dislocations. Need 4-5 more surgeries. But I’m finally back on track with keto and fasting. Have 35 lbs I need to kick off my body and I know I can do this. After merely a week, I’m already starting to feel better! Thanks for all you do sir!
For what it's worth. Have a serious look into carnivore. Your joints and probably a lot more, will surely thank you. On my case IF and Keto started the journey to health. Terribly mismanaged I just jumped of the meds and gave up the soft drinks ( I am an Aussie think you guys call it soda) however I still eat bad foods - processed crap. I have type 2 diabetes and I'm at 220 lbs and feel like I'm dieing. I'm glad I listened to this podcast and I will try and fast. Cause I'm so tired of being tired.
It's the high blood sugars in the body which is making the diabetic person feel tired constantly. Alternate days include this in your diet. Monday eat garlic 1 or 2 cloves before you eat your meal. Tuesday drink a glass of hot turmeric water before your first meal 200 ml of hot water add half teaspoon turmeric powder, a pinch of pepper powder, mix well drink. Tuesday night soak half teaspoon of fenugreek seeds in about 100 ml of water, next day Wednesday have this water and the soaked seeds (chew them well don't swallow them) before you have your meals. These 3 are game changers for diabetics. Do this alternate days as many days possible. Your tiredness will be better. You got this. Keep going 💪

It's not simply calories in, calories out. It's more important WHERE the calories are coming from. Basically, NO processed sugars, they are the devil, lol.
I am 57. I was obese all my life, I want to thank Dr Fung because his work help me to finally loose the weight and keep it off for now 2 years, and get better health. Of course there’s still weight to loose but Im so grateful. Thank you!!!
The greatest thing that happened to me was following Dr. Fung intermittent fasting during covid time and being healthier than ever. He is my savior. Thank you, Dr. Fung for your dedication and hard work.
Your level of empathy for the human species in their health is outstanding Dr Fung! You have impacted a 1000s and thousands of ordinary people like myself and hopefully hundreds and hundreds in the medical field! Thank you for all the work you do!
I've been doing this way before it became popular. Growing up, I just wasn't hungry. It's really cool that at a really young age I listened to my body and now it's a way to improve your weight and health. For a long time, people thought I had an ED, but I simply wasn't hungry in the morning.
I'll be 54 next month. Last year I lost 40 lbs in 7 months doing IF 18:6 2MAD (plus exercising). I've done two 48 hr fasts as well, including one that led right up to Thanksgiving dinner. This shit works people. If I can do this ANYONE can.
I'm prepping my mind up to do a 3 day fast tomorrow-Sunday. Thanks for the inspiration. I always thought the shakes were from low blood sugar but now I know it's epinephrine and I need electrolytes.
@ClarkPotter Because I don't feel like losing any of this lean muscle mass that I've also added. Anything longer than a 48 hr fast and you risk losing that.
I think dr Jason's answer isn't arrogant it's practical and he's definitely changed my life , thanks for this podcast and big thanks to Dr Jason for all his hard work
Thank you Dr Fung! Your work helped me to reverse my T2 diabetes and lose 70 pounds! You have made such a difference! The world needs more doctors like you!
Eating only once a day for past 3 months and i can say he is absolutely correct. For every diet you may loose body fat but not belly fat. But if you eat only once a day then you will notice you are loosing belly fat really quickly just in 2 weeks.
The reason is because of calories. The law of thermodynamics. If you burn more calories than you eat then you will lose weight. So by eating once a day you will limit the amount of calories that you eat. Another thing you cannot target body fat. When you lose fat it happens all over your body.
@@fernandolopez7931 Then surely if you split your 1 meal in terms of calories into 3 and eat those 3 meals throughout the day like you normally do, surely it'll work too?
@@dizziczHe’s right about the calories in calories out. But there’s also truth to Dr. Fung’s concept of fasting for long periods of time, thus lowering insulin and speeding up the fat-burning process. The body is a beautiful thing and a multitude of mechanisms are at play.
Dr. JASON... Thank you for all your efforts that are ongoing to help people get better from diabetes... which also help people avoid and prevent kidney failure resulting from diabetes. I have watched many of your videos and shared them with friends and family... The information you give out is simple and easy to understand and educate people in ways they can do to treat their diabetes and live better healthy lives. I don't think you are arrogant but passionate and caring about how you can help not just your patients but everyone who cares enough to listen. You definitely deserve much respect for what you do!! I hope you will be encouraged to continue to help people all over the world. People need to take care of their own health, be pro-active in their approach, not just rely on drugs but they need guidance and you are that guiding light!!
The reason they say it’s bad for you is because the reality is if you don’t eat as much, you don’t SPEND as much on food, which means the businesses SELLING the food aren’t making as much profits, which makes it bad for THEM. There’s NOTHING bad for you in intermittent fasting (unless you have a condition that requires you to eat at times) and it only benefits the individual, without having to spend money. I use intermittent fasting to maintain my weight at my desired result for years and it absolutely works.
Been saying this for years, we grow up learning that eating 3 times a day is IMPORTANT....for the system to work, not you. I eat once a day, never been better and weight is steady, eating 3 times a day is actually insane. They want money, we are the income, and commercials has shaped us since the dawn of time basicly. Its all lies.
It's not arrogant Dr. Jason, you are doing the right thing, the world needs doctors like you who really care and want to make a difference in the lives of people. Keep doing what you are doing and preaching.
I did intermittent fasting all my childhood . We went hungry lots !! Grew up and joined a gym, was asked how I kept so slim ? Uhhh, go hungry . Get past the initial hunger pains and growls- get past that and it goes away . It will quit. Then you just have the habit of reaching for food to get past.
I first watched Dr. Fung back in 2021 and I've been doing IF/OMAD since. I lost 20lbs in the first 6 months and I've kept my weight btwn 160-165 ever since. My lab/blood panels are great and I feel great. Thank you, Dr. Fung!
Love Dr Fung, he knows what he is talking about and people need to listen. We as a country are sick because of fast food and low quality processed trash. we buy for our kids. Kids don’t fast but feed them real foods God has grown for us and they will calm down and slim down. Great conversation Steven.
it's not arogant, Dr. Fung. Our entire family is diabetic and we started watching your videos years ago and did help us. we've seen other medical professionals come after you. thank you for standing strong. you are a blessing!
Dr Fung is absolutely brilliant. He’s in a class by himself. It amazes me how little we know about the hormonal systems in the body. We look at glucose, carbs, protein and fat but our comprehension of the hormones that respond to and call for them. Would love to see a program on that helps to illuminate what we know we don’t know and what we don’t know that we don’t know. Call it lucid ignorance but it’s an important step for any understanding. When we have that understanding, our silly model of protein/carb/fat will blossom into something meaningful and real.
Jason is one of a dwindling source of real doctors who really care and continue to do what they know works. This guy is not bought and paid for like so many who take a check and do what their owners order
Have lost 32lbs from 227 in August of last year to 195 today bc of this! Didn’t even know the science behind it, just tried it and started lifting weights (no cardio) and the fat started shedding, best change I’ve made in my life
@@prateekbhurkay9376 I’m currently at 186lbs since this post, for the first 6 months I was only doing weights, IF, and no cardio, and had pretty insane results. I’ve now added cardio 2-3x per week to accelerate progress and summer is coming quick, I will typically walk 20-30 mins on a 13 incline 3 speed bc running takes a little too much of a recovery for me, not to mention how hungry I get when I run. In terms of dealing with hunger, it was never an issue until I started trying cardio occasionally. The days I would do it I would always snack late at night but when I didn’t I never found myself hungry late. Would only eat between 12pm-8pm and was only having 2 full meals per day (pretty decent size meals w lots of protein) + 2 protein shakes (1 first thing in the morning before even coffee, 1 after gym) and maybeeeee some Okio yogurt between the 2 meals if I felt any hunger. Some would say I wasn’t getting enough protein but that didn’t slow down the progress at all. I’ve moreeeee than doubled my strength on every lift, just stayed consistent with 4 days of gym a week to start and now I’m up to 5. I work fully remote so I would either go to the gym @11am and eat breakfast right when I got back around 12pm bc I enjoy fasted workouts, ORRRRR (this is what I do almost every day now) I would eat breakfast @12pm during my lunch, wait till I got off (around 4-5pm), go the gym, then come home around 6pm and have my last protein shake and dinner then around 7pm. That’s still my schedule today and the progress has been great.
@@prateekbhurkay9376 yup, only weights and IF. I work out after work so around 5pm every day 4-5x per week. Usually wake up @ 8am for work, have a protein shake w water before starting my day + some coffee, work on an empty stomach until 12pm when I cook my first meal (lots of eggs). Then will continue working till I’m off and immediately go to the gym. If I need a snack before I go the gym after my first meal I just have some Okio’s Greek yogurt. By the time I’m home it’s around 6:30-7pm and I’ll have another protein shake and then cook dinner and I’m set for the day. Only would get hungry late at night when I did cardio, did way too much late night snacking so just removed cardio and it’s been great since. This has been my routine for 8 months now and I’m actually down to 186lbs at this point.

Does my morning spoon of olive oil and lemon, breaks intermittent fasting???
I started fasting in 2016. Dr said she wishes all patients had labs that look like mine. I’m 55 and I’m just as fit and in shape as I was in my 20s. Menopause did not cause weight gain. Went on 14 trip to Europe including a cruise. Ate like a queen. Did NOT gain 1 lb! Metabolism is great!
Been doing IF for 18 months and down from 353 to 229.6 as of this morning. Still have a way to go but it’s the easiest and most successful weight loss attempt of my life.

Fung!

Long term fasting saved my life mentally, physically and spiritually.
That's wonderful knowledge is power
This man's advice is saving many lives around the globe. Many many millions.
Thats why hes disliked by many ESPECIALLY doctors. Hes getting us healthy and its bad for business !

Hi, can someone explain what OMAD is? First time I saw this, thx

Once a month I fast for 36hrs for a cellular recycling process through Autophagy.

I refused to start the drugs. Took Dr Fung’s advice and my A1C is down 3 full points in 3 months. Am intermittently fasting - 16 hr.
Good job. Most people would crumble before 24 hours.

00:00 🍽️ *Extending fasting periods and eliminating snacks can aid in weight loss by keeping insulin levels low, facilitating fat burning.*
04:14 🔄 *Fasting triggers physiological responses like lower insulin, higher sympathetic tone, cortisol, and growth hormone, leading to increased metabolic rate and fat utilization.*

You got this!!! You are stronger 💪 than you think. Stay positive and stay moving forward each and every day.

Would love to see a program on that helps to illuminate what we know we don’t know and what we don’t know that we don’t know. Call it lucid ignorance but it’s an important step for any understanding.
When we have that understanding, our silly model of protein/carb/fat will blossom into something meaningful and real.
