I’m thinking about ordering a Romeo Zero to put on my new Mossberg MC2SC. I like the fact that the cut out in the slide of the Mossberg is low so your factory sights will co-witness with the red dot.

I have a Romeo zero in my safe. Picked up the 3 moa cheap at a local shop. Haven’t put it on my 365xl yet due to not wanting to blow a bunch of ammo. I love that it has the rear “iron” sight.

Took mine to the range today...and it is sick accurate and co-witnesses.
Unless someone's a fumble fingers this doesn't add so much weight that you'd be dropping this thing.

I bought mine separately from the gun too. You can buy a gun with the red dot already on it and pre-sighted from Sig. But I put mine on with the metal guard and it was dead on. I mean dead on. Love it.

Tip.....you can shut the dot off by holding the brightness button for about two seconds. Same process to turn it back on. This seems to override the motion activation. I thought my battery was dead so I turned it off and waited a few minutes and picked it up....motion did not activate the dot. I then turned it on manually and set it down. The dot went off after 2 minutes of inactivity then immediately turned on after I picked it up. Sig's instructions tell you that you can turn it on and off manually but they fail to state that this feature overrides the motion activation. Hope this helps. I even tried a new battery and same results.

I bought this sight and was worrying about the polymer mold. Well, I found out sig has a steel shroud that you can order that this red dot sits in and protects the sight like a metal or aluminum sight. Total cost for shroud $10 shipping. They don't sell this shroud as they haven't made them public but if you message sig customer service and ask to order one, they will mail one to you free of charge however you have to pay shipping. What a deal. It fits perfectly and protect s like the more expensive sights.

Great review. I’ve been watching reviews about this red dot and there’s lots of negativity out there.
Personally, I own numerous pistols most of which are Sig’s ranging from small P238 to the P226 Legion and even a full-size Sig 1911. Generally Sig makes quality stuff so I’d expect no less with their optics.
I like your advice about trying a Red Dot on something before deciding to carry. The first Sig I purchased was a P365XL without the optic so apparently it’s an optic ready pistol and I can just purchase the optic and use it as a learning/trial/practice pistol. The XL I have I actually purchased, at her request for my wife and she never carries it so I’ll borrow it and add a Red Dot.
I will say that among the small 9mm pistols I own it is one of my favorite and I shoot it well. Thanks for your very positive and professional comments. 👍
I’m not especially or totally a Sig Fanboy as I do own other pistols including Colt, Springfield, Smith & Wesson, Kimber even recently a Dan Wesson Specialist 1911 and just this week a CZ 75 PCR Compact.
I say this to say sometimes I think people just like to bash Sig unnecessarily 🤷🏻‍♂️ it’s amazing. Anyway Happy Trails

This is the only red dot I can mount on my Sig SP 2022 9mm pistol. I have the plate that replaces the rear iron sights from Sig and can get this sight for $139 right now. I knew you'd shoot straight. I was curious as to whether I should get this for my SP 2022 or just put whatever sight I like the most for my Springfield Hellcat. Best option would be both certainly but just in case I can only get 1, which is the case at the time.

IT’s NOT “plastic”.... it’s made out of the same polymer that the gun is constructed out of. Be accurate with your specs and materials. If you’re worried about dropping the optic on concrete, then you should be worried about dropping the weapon too. BTW, got it for $149 from AIM surplus, ALWAYS better than OP. The sig sauer Romeo zero micro red dot is the first red dot I’ve ever bought or owned and I have it on my edc Canik tp9 elite sc in desert green and It’s been amazing for me and today I bought a new REDFIELD 1x mini red dot today for my new pump action ETRO tactical shotgun in desert tan and it truly compares to the Romeo zero micro red dot because it has easy brightness adjustment on the side with good size buttons and it’s a full metal sight for $145 and I also purchased a new Ruger PC9 with the heat shield over the barrel and ordered a holosun 1x-3x cross hair red dot for it and can’t wait to test it against the Romeo zero and my REDFIELD red dot. I also have a Gen3 glock 19 and was wondering if anyone can recommend a good place to get my Glock slide cut for red dot or a good decent priced after market slide that has the red dot cut already and with front serration and window cuts on the slide as well. Cause everywhere I’ve looked I found places that I can send my slide to them and get the cuts but it has a estimate timeline of 5-6months or I find the one I want but it cost $475-$575 for the slide and that cost the same as my Glock did. I really don’t want to have my slide cut for one it’ll be gone for 6 months or two because I have a full matching serial number gun and don’t want to ruin the stock slide in case I ever decided to sell or trade it. Thanks for the review. I normally just watch your reviews but this one i felt i needed to respond. The optic is really not good for a firearm you're defending you're life with. I put one on the 365 SAS (Because i didn't like the sight that it came with.) Unfortunately, the zero scratched within 2 weeks to a point that it was almost useless. This was caused by the polymers lens rubbing my belt, ejecting rounds, or possibly dust being wiped off, i don't know but it was easily scratched. Sig was kind enough to replace it and even give me the guard for it. ( Currently sitting on the shelf not installed on anything because it's a waste of money.) I got the Holosun 507 (because the 407 was out of stock everywhere.) and put that on instead. I was concerned the zero wouldl not hold up to rain or a lot of sweat well since the electronics are fully exposed. The battery is a pain to replace as it must be removed to do so. To adjust the brightness is a pain because you have to go all the way up and back down so don't pass the setting you want. The adjustments are not obvious either. It does work well under idea conditions and had motion activation on and off. (Motac) The Holosun had the same features but they work better and it's waterproof, has glass not a polymer lens, and it's made of metal. Worth the extra money. I've had the 507 on for a while now with no issues. Thanks again for your efforts to keep us informed. In fact, if you have to send that optic back you can do a real test on the one i got on my shelf. I'm not far from you (Charlotte)

Mine isn’t a round dot, it’s like a weird smudge of red. It’s kinda cheapo like crimson trace. Not really happy with it, will upgrade to something else.

@@Sourpusscandy Best way to check... Take a picture of the dot with your phone.. If it looks normal in the picture, you have astigmatism. I do too, luckily mine isn't quite so bad that I can't use reflex sights.

immediately wished I had bought the standard 365XL - the romeo is a zero - you have to turn it on and off with a tiny button located just behind the back lens inside the lens housing - the absolute worst location their chinese engineers could come up with - I am really disappointed in Sig for selling garbage. "Hero -wait while I turn on my red dot" "Zero - Nah" By all meean buy a 365X or XL they are optic ready for RMSC footprint optics - get a RD as close to 1" bc 365s are about 0.91" at the slide. 😉

I have a Romeo zero and it’s pretty much trash. Lens scratches way too easy (Sig replaced my first one, second one got scratched after basic use). Also don’t believe their claim of battery life it dies after a couple months.

Where on Earth did you take it? I've been to the range several times now...and not a scratch hasn't lost 0...
Would've it been nice in aluminum instead. Yes.

Respectfully sir... you’re not fully informed about the Sig Romeo Zero. Suggest you research or talk to Sig... about WHY they used a polymer housing for their Romeo Zero RD. It’s the same polymer that makes up Glocks... some of the toughest guns on the planet.
If you dropped your Sig 365 on the concrete... chances are quite high... that it would be just fine.
