    I’ve had a Romeo zero mounted on my 365XL 14 months now. Ive probably put about 800 rounds through though it using this red dot. Still the same battery and i wear it most days. I do use a “soft clean cloth” like my bandana or my shirt tail to dust the lint off of it most days. I do have the metal frame around it. I’ve been happy with it.

    I'm sure it's a thousand kinds of blasphemy, but I installed a Romeo Zero (with the steel housing cover) on my 43x and am creeping up on 3k rounds. It's been great throughout. I (don't get butthurt) routinely release the slide by pulling back on the optic and have bashed the optic on a hard surface to clear training induced malfunctions dozens of times. In short, I have had no mercy. I'm two years into it and plan to change the battery at the first of the year. I couldn't be more pleased with it's ability to hold zero after substantial punishment. It was purchased locally at the gun counter in a local Ace Hardware. The Romeo Zero is the only optic I have put through the abuse I subject this one too. It is also the only optic among a few more expensive pistol optics I own that I have confidence in to carry daily. It's a tough little dude, well done, Sig.

    Torquing to 9 in lbs causes the screws to become lodged in the plastic housing and increases the chance of stripping the screws. I ended up stripping multiple screws (grade 10.9) trying to achieve 9 in lbs using a wheeler fat wrench. Just FYI M2 allen slotted screws were not designed to handle 9in-lbs. Ended up getting rid of the optic, and replacing it with a holosun who uses torx head screws and housing that properly handles the torque.

    This optic has significant parallax shift. Put a boresight in your barrel, mount the slide or pistol somewhere steady, and move your head around.
    You'll see the aiming dot in the optic dance around the point of impact laser from the bore sighting device.
    Sig needs to do better.
    *Edit* Apparently we're splitting hairs over the term parallax shift. At the end of the day, my Romeo Zero has a greater observable deviation between the point of aim and projected point of impact than other dots like the ACRO, RMR, and RMRcc. That is my concern. This red dot is bad.

    • @ClubPenguinMaster88
      @ClubPenguinMaster88 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a pistol dot, no shift is good for long ranges and not short. Are you putting this on a rifle?

    • @usraider2244
      @usraider2244 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ClubPenguinMaster88 No. When I perform the same test with other pistol optics (like an ACRO, an RMRcc, and an RMR) they do not deviate as much as the Sig dots.
      From an approximate distance to the wall of 7 yards, the sig dot will deviate 6 or more inches from its zeroed position while the others are between 0 and 2ish. (These are estimated numbers, I didn't have a grid on the wall while testing)

    • @ClubPenguinMaster88
      @ClubPenguinMaster88 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@usraider2244 7 yards and 0 deviation is actually significant parallax shift. Not sure what the deal with your setup must be.

      @usraider2244 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ClubPenguinMaster88 How are you going to tell me that the point of aim and point of impact *not* moving away from each other is a problem?

    • @ClubPenguinMaster88
      @ClubPenguinMaster88 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@usraider2244 Because look at a true zero-parallax sight at anything within short range. For a pistol sight, parallax is not a significant issue. If your parallax is set to 10yds away, it'll be bad for range shooting, but it's better for 10yds. You recognize how parallax works, right? It's like you're looking at a spot on a wall; the 0 parallax wall is an infinite distance away.

      @@Murphy82nd that is true depends on the time of year and shopping around,. I remember getting my Romeo Zero for 99bucks on black friday sale and my Holsun for closer to $260 on sale. • @Murphy82nd
      @Murphy82nd 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fredrickjames4340 I respect that you find it fine. I just personally didn’t.
      I want to shoot my carry pistol, and I want to do it with the optic attached. The plastic lens on my Romeo Zero scratched extremely easily, and I’m OCD enough that I clean with lens cleaner, disposable lens wipes, and compressed air. Regardless of how gentle I was with it, any cleaning meant scratches. The button placement made this worse as anytime I wanted to adjust the brightness I ended up smudging the rear of the lens, meaning I then needed to clean it.
      The windage and elevation adjustments aren’t audible or tactile, and on mine the wrench would sort of just jump along, making adjusting to where I wanted a royal pain in my ass. The battery also requires removing the sight to get to it, which exacerbates this problem.
      I know some people have concerns about durability. With the metal shroud I’m really not one of them, I think it’s fine for that. My complaints were with things I do regularly with any pistol mounted red dot I own and that’s why I got rid of it. I was disappointed to see that on the Zero Elite that while they are now using a glass lens, which I think is a big plus, they didn’t address the button placement.
