I'm watching again and sewed two tops with you tonight. Easy Peasy. I did use a directional fabric as well on both and when I lay them out my directional piece will be on the top left. Since it's square it doesn't matter wich large fabric is top left. Thanks again. My charity is foster group for my daughter's church, They are so thankful for these small gifts of love. I'm blessed with an ever growing fabric stash, My passion. I decided to use some flannel 104" to do both, no batting needed as we are in Texas, and have only a few cold weeks in the year, I'll also be sewing two tops from your 6.5" strip and again use up my flannel for backs. Thanks again for the patterns in this series.

Hi Stacy! I was just tickled to learn this binding technique. I've always thought must be an easy way to bring the backing to the front for binding rather then the traditional way of using binding strips, but I was always nervous to try and figure it out on my own LOL . Thanks so much for making this video on how to do it! It was so easy! Im actually finishing up a quilt for myself using this method 😀👏🏻 So glad I found your channel! Looking forward to more videos!

Gurl, This is the best quilt top for a person who sews, but not quilts. I have my quilt top done. I used leftover fat quarters from a bundle that matched some from another bundle. I need to get my fabric for the backing. This quilt is just the right size. I think I will sew bibs and burp cloths to match even though it's not a theme for a baby. Thanks again.

Hi Renee, thanks so much. I also saw you purchased my pattern - thank you! If your fabric is smaller I would half it, so 16” would be cut at 8”. 😊

Just found your channel. Subscribed. Gave a quick review and liked what I saw. I'm not a quilter but want to try. Like sewing small projects especially for gifts. This looks like a good project for a beginner.

Great tutorial, but have you tried this? To trim away excess batting, put a few pins into the batting parallel just outside the edge of the quilt to mark the size of the quilt top. Flip the quilt upside down so the backing is facing you. Then fold back the backing, and place your ruler along your pins. Draw a line or just cut with your rotary cutter.

Hi Laura, thanks for watching! Yes I don’t see why not. Just need to work out how much to trim each side based on the size you start off with. 🤗

When you sew down the binding after you fold it and press it, if you sew just off the outer edge 1/8”, doesn’t the inner edge roll up or back when washed? I usually sewed the inner edge down with n 1/8” ? Or did I misunderstand.?I love your accent, very easy to listen to and follow. I’m old and fairly new to sewing, so forgive my question if it’s simplistic😂

Looks like something I would like to try for my donation quilt. I have a question. Are you targeting young, small children? To make one for school age 6-12 children be wanted or needed? How about the 12-18 age group?

    • @staceyleecreative

Hi Ruth, thanks so much for joining in. Comfort Cases ask for two sized quilts, one for babies and one for big kids. This quilt is for babies, then next week I will do a big kids quilt. With the big kids quilt I think the fabric will dictate who it goes too. Like fun kids fabric for kids or more grown up fabric for the teens. I hope that helps. 🤗
