I'm watching again and sewed two tops with you tonight. Easy Peasy. I did use a directional fabric as well on both and when I lay them out my directional piece will be on the top left. Since it's square it doesn't matter wich large fabric is top left. Thanks again. My charity is foster group for my daughter's church, They are so thankful for these small gifts of love. I'm blessed with an ever growing fabric stash, My passion. I decided to use some flannel 104" to do both, no batting needed as we are in Texas, and have only a few cold weeks in the year, I'll also be sewing two tops from your 6.5" strip and again use up my flannel for backs. Thanks again for the patterns in this series.
Hi Stacey, I’m so happy to hear that you received some goodies from AGF and Oliso. I love using Art Gallery Fabrics and happy to see an online quilter doing the same. I hope you continue to grow and reap the perks of your hard work teaching us your projects. I think you’re excellent!
This was an unbelievably simple video tutorial, which I loved ! Thank you for this. I have seen so many on this subject that they pale to your video in comparison. This video I will save to watch over and over again whenever I come to binding a quilt. Thank you !

Hi Stacey, another newbie here. Just wanted to say thank you for your video, I could actually understand what you were saying, other videos have left me confused - and that's not very hard, believe me!! 😂 As a result, I've made my own version of hugs and kisses, only my third project but I'm pleased with it. Thank you for this pattern. I had the quilt top made in under well under an hour. I'll be sending it out to be quilted then can't wait to try the self binding method. This is a genius idea!
Hi Stacy! I was just tickled to learn this binding technique. I've always thought must be an easy way to bring the backing to the front for binding rather then the traditional way of using binding strips, but I was always nervous to try and figure it out on my own LOL . Thanks so much for making this video on how to do it! It was so easy! Im actually finishing up a quilt for myself using this method 😀👏🏻 So glad I found your channel! Looking forward to more videos!
Stunning Stacey. Simple and elegant as all your tutorials are. Would love to see you make a potato chip quilt. I check every morning [Australia time] to see what you have posted. NZ hugs via Australia. 0000
Gurl, This is the best quilt top for a person who sews, but not quilts. I have my quilt top done. I used leftover fat quarters from a bundle that matched some from another bundle. I need to get my fabric for the backing. This quilt is just the right size. I think I will sew bibs and burp cloths to match even though it's not a theme for a baby. Thanks again.
Thanks Stacey! I wasn’t going to make a baby gift quilt due to limited time but I believe I can do this very quickly and choose fabrics that really pop to make it special.
I am going to use repurposed fabrics from my stash. I have deconstructed old pillowcases and instead of buying new fabric, I am going to use that fabric for my quilt. Thanks for taking the time to make this video!
Susie I have been using from my stash for all of my blocks. Things have gone up in price, so I am taking advantage of the good fabric I have on hand. Mine will all be scrappy.

I love doing self binding quilts, your pattern is adorable, I plan to use it for some of my donations quilts. Before I do my self binding, I make mitred corners so that they are sewn nicely closed, then turn the rest of the binding in and topstitch. Thanks for the video!

Great tutorial, but have you tried this? To trim away excess batting, put a few pins into the batting parallel just outside the edge of the quilt to mark the size of the quilt top. Flip the quilt upside down so the backing is facing you. Then fold back the backing, and place your ruler along your pins. Draw a line or just cut with your rotary cutter.

How do you attach loops for wall hanging on this self binding one? will it be too messy on the back?
Yes it would be messy on the back. I am not sure I would do it.
Can a border be put on before the backing if I want it a little bigger?
Yes you can 🤗 Thanks for watching 🙌
Hi, do you use cotton batting or polyester?
Hi, I always use cotton 🤗
@@staceyleecreative Thank you
Im new to all this but wouldnt it be easier to make batting same size a quilt top so you dont have the extra step?
Hi Chris, yes you could, but sometimes the three layers can move a little, so that's why I like to do it this way 😊
Do you use cotton or flannel fabric?
Hi, this is cotton, because we still have the batting 🤗
For the charity would they be able to use pillow cases as well as quilts?
Hi Robin, unfortunately they don’t, since they can only fit so much in a case, and they send every child the same items. 🤗
Do they pay for the shipping of the quilts
No you have to pay for shipping, because it is a charity. But they do offer $20 shipping labels through a third party.
If I were to send you these baby clothes what would you charge to make a quilt for me
