    It’s nice to see a reasonable sewing machine being used. So many times I see high priced Janomes, Berninas, and Babylocks. It takes away from the “real world”, sometimes. Yay Singer!

      I’ve had the expensive machines. It wasn’t near as powerful as my Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine. I love this machine, it does everything I need and it only cost $200 dollars. Thanks for your comment and for watching!

      I have the same machine, so far I haven’t had any issues, it’s been great. I’m really happy to see quilting done….I made my first quilt a few weeks ago, it wasn’t the greatest, but I was able to pull it off (it was made from old tee shirts). I was worried about the batting being too difficult to sew with a typical machine, I don’t have anything fancy😁
      Thanks to the OP for sharing the work done, I love the quilt, it’s beautiful and looks comfy. I’m looking to make a few baby quilts for any future grandchildren 😀
      I’d love to get that extended part for the sewing machine that can hold more fabric, I have to look for it!

    I guess I’m sort of a traditionalist as I still like those older quilt patterns like this nine patch! Just changing the pink to another color changes the whole feel of this quilt! It can be very modern, or 1930s or even Civil War styles - all of which I like! Make the 9- patch,blocks bigger or even smaller - just have fun!!!

    I will try and finish my grandmothers quilt she pieced together years ago and never got to finish. When my kids were young, I would send the top finished piece along with with back piece and batting ( From TX to MI), and she would hand finish them. She did not go out in the winter much and it gave her something to do. I love those quilts she made for me.

      @@sweetcountrylivinginmichigan wait a minute. I had to run an errand and was trying to decide if I can do this because I don't have one of those rulers. I have a 2.5inch wide that's 9.5 inches long. And a 12 inch square. This is why I don't do quilts it's too much math and geometry. If I cut 12 inch long strips, I cannot get 2 blocks out of that so I think I'll use my 9 incher and cut 7.5inch long strips. That would be the best smaller scale thing to do yes?

    • @sweetcountrylivinginmichigan
      @sweetcountrylivinginmichigan  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You definitely can still make it. You could just make smaller stripe sets and put those together. It might take longer, but that’s no problem.

    Hello, love this quilt pattern, very nice and easy for beginner like me. I can figure how you get the 40” using 2.5” strips and 6” squares, including the border, [ six 6” squares per row plus 4” border = 40”] but I can’t figure how to get 30” for the 30” x 40” quilt, [ five 6” squares = 30” plus 4” border = 36”], [ four 6” squares plus 4” border = 28” ].
