Thanks for reviewing the latest update to AutoFPS. A few minor points of clarification:
1. Any auto-start option that you chose when you installed the app does get removed when you uninstall the app.
2. Full profile savings are only for VFR and IFR flight types, not each graphics mode, although target FPS will be saved for each graphics mode and flight type.
3. Auto target FPS only ever adjusts down in the air, not up.
4. FPS sensitivity adjusts with much smaller FPS variances than FPS Tolerance and generally smaller TLOD amounts.
5. Auto TLOD is a new TLOD automation method that ignores FPS and uses an altitude schedule, like Auto OLOD does. It is useful for those using an FPS cap that would otherwise be in conflict with a target FPS objective.

I ran the *.10 update today on a Fenix a320 flight (VR varjo aero) and it was one the smoothest, most satisfying flights I've made. Kudos @ResetXPDR for bringing us this invaluable tool. Many thanks!

Yep ! 😀 It was the same with former FSX ! Hunting the sweet spot ever !
And that's why I bought a 4080 super back in Feb. It doesn't fully solve the performance but it allows me to keep my settings fixed rather than running plugins and endless tweaking. I just turn on FG run ultra and leave it there.
These plugins if you are not careful can do more harm than good.

This version v0.4.2.10 didn't work for me so had to go back to the previous 0.4.2. Serious loss of TLOD + stutters in VFR auto mode. FPS at 30avg. was similar. Currently flying in my Cows DA42 over England to EHAM at FL70 with FPS 33, TLOD 200-400, OLOD 45 & clouds Ultra. Again very very happy with this AutoFPS, thanks man!!! (specs: RTX3080 on 3 2Kres monitors, DLSS 3.6,)

The DLSSG file is only for 40-series cards. That’s what got updated yesterday. The “regular” DLSS file got updated last week.

Hey! Thanks. Ive been lovin the content you're putting out and it really helps us. I was wondering if you had any tips- I install AutoFPS but go to launch the application (not installer) .exe, and nothing happens, this is with all antivirus off.
Thanks for the explanation! I still don’t really know when to use AutoFPS option. Could you say use that mode if you don’t really know what average fps your system is able to provide so the program estimates that for you thus does a better/more precise job in evaluating the correct target fps?
Thank you for the review. The app is truly a holy grail. lol. Question or more like advise regarding fps, I set a cap into NCP to 45 fps and vsyn in the sim, so I get a steady 30 fps. Would I be better off just setting a cap of 60 fps and turn vsync off? RTX 3060 i9 11900k using 4K rendering.
I love this app, it has made my sim experience much better. I'm now running 50fps everywhere instead of 30.
I have a wishlist idea though if I could. Lets say climbing over the point my max TLOD is applied (in my case 2000ft), now its the clouds that are the fps problem. It would be great if fps adjustments over my 2000ft setting are made from the cloud setting, not the ground, as thats no longer the problem. I can encounter fps issues from flying in cloud over 30000ft. A TLOD change doesnt fix this. It would be great if the app adjusted the cloud first, over a set minmum altitude. Cheers

Hola Rey! Did you use the previous version? And it was okay? You could try using the FPS Tolerance option, it might be better.

You can minimise or close the window and the app will run in the background in your system tray.
would you say this tool is superior to DynamicLOD-ResetXPDR Edition now?
Hello! I’m currently using version 4.2.10 and recently MSFS is the only thing that shows green under connection status. Sim connect and Session stay red with n/a on all values. Any suggestions?
What if you have a truly powerful RTX-4090, what would be the settings for that?
Is it ok to run this with the frame gen aswell?
I used to be such a tweaker, 90%tweaking,10% flying,
I have a AMD 5800X3D and a 4090 with 32 gig of ram, and a 55inch tv as monitor, run 4K with Vsync on at half refresh rate, that's 30 fps, overall settings high, except volumetric clouds set to ultra, and that is it, smooth as silk, at any airport and with any plane, no more tweaking, no need for more than 30 fps for me

Even after reinstalling Windows and installing MSFS, AutoFPS still causes a CTD when returning to the world map after flying as before.
I was looking forward to new 0.4.2.10, but it was me.

I was following your video on dlssg and have the 3.7 installed and swapped. When I go into the msfs options generation is greyed out. I have a 4080 so this may be normal but I don't know if I missed something??
You didn't install the frame gen mod, right?

TLOD now goes up to 600! Isn't the maximum in the sim 400, or are we using different scales here?
Yeah, you can go higher, it’s just that the setting they limit you to in the sim.
What if we used auto start in a previous version? is there a change we can make to reset the files impacted?
Which auto start did you use, FSUIPC?
If you have upgraded and still want to use the autostart you previously configured, run the installer and select Do not configure Autostart. If you want to remove all autostart settings, run the installer and select Remove Auto-Start.
Ive messed up on the first install when it first came out and chose the on auto start option is thier anything I can do ?

Nice to know there’s an update, but I can’t used the program, it doesn’t work for me…sad! I would get MSFS, SimConnect but I don’t get Session. It gives me an error and I would just close the program. A lot of stuff don’t work for me, just like the frame gen mod. I get a million stutters 👎🏾

Honestly it runs ok. Once I switch to DX12 and turn on the framegen mod, man i get sooo much stutters it ain’t funny. But back on DX11 it runs much much better. Still get a few gitters but its much better than the DX12
Please tell me if I’m trying to do too much with what I have.
Once again I have been attempting to tweak the game ALL DAY! Worked fine the other day, and out of no where… it doesn’t look as nice and doesn’t run as nice. It’s extremely frustrating.
One thing that I’m truly thinking is that the streaming part of the sim is the issue.
I believe you're right on that one. - I think the issue with slow download speeds in CM, is also within the game, which gives us slow, melted PG and blurry textures. It has not been fixed for 14 months now, and honestly i think they have made a decision for it to be like this. To save money or for 2024 to look and work better.@@IslandSimPilot
This is getting to me! I spent my entire career in mainframe operations and programming. I got myself a top of the line flight sim setup to enjoy retirement and all I do is spend the day and night working on the stupid settings. I’m about ready to just go to X-plane and see what thats about even though I’ve played msfs since the beginning. I JUST WANT TO FLY with good, SMOOTH graphics.🤬🤬🤓
I’ve uninstalled this twice. My performance is worse and visual worse when I use it. I suppose it is for people with low end PCs? I have a 4090 and a Ryzen 7950X, so my rig is pretty capable of handling ultra settings of the sim. The two times I downloaded and used AutoFps, there was lags and stutters and the clouds and objects so bad because it had reduced the settings so much and I understand it is supposed to do that but why do I still have stutters? But when I uninstall and just use my DLSS settings, it’s smooth and crisp. Smh!

You may be correct, given the system that you have.
@@IslandSimPilot I suspected it was for lower end PCs so I just uninstalled and continued with my normal rig.
I Have an RTX3080, & The New Version UpDate is also Giving me Issues With Stutters, 🤷♂️🙄especially Going from One Airport Destination to Another Without going Back to the “Main Menu” in the Sim ?!!!🤷♂️😳 Plus, My “Floyd’s Clouds” Program is Looking Very Awful to boot !!!

Yes. I have a 4090 and 7950x3d and the program is very helpful to allow dynamic terrain LOD based upon altitude and fps performance.
This guy is making Asobo look like a bunch of rundown amateurs. I fear it’s only a matter of time before Asobo decide to strike this mod down.
He has done an incredible job.
It's nothing new and acutally used for the console port already by the devs with their own code.
I think they'd have to do that with a lawsuit. Asobo can't dictate which software I choose to install on my computer.
The MSFS forum moderators, however, have zero tolerance for any discussion of this software, or any software with the same goal of dynamic FPS, TLOD, or LOD.
Ask me how I know...😉
Xbox msfs already does the same thing as this PC modification. And Asobo said recently they are aware of the benefits of this mod and will consider something like it in MSFS 2024.
